Repeated copyright violations and uploading files without sources despite repeated notifications and requests on talk page with no engagement from the user. Most of their content looks like it may need to be deleted as well. Takerlamar (talk) 21:09, 28 November 2024 (UTC)

This user has contributed nothing but copyright violations since May 2023. After I nominated File:KSerna.png for deletion as a blatant copyright violation, the user uploaded the same image as File:Serna.png, just with a slightly different crop. That is beyond cheeky. Nothing good can come from a user who has had 18 months of warnings not to upload other people's photographs of footballers and pass them off as "own work". This file is my own work. It is a highly viewed map file, I'm requesting auto patrol protection for it so that edit warring can be avoided on its different revisions while still being updated by well established editors. Ecrusized (talk) 22:23, 2 December 2024 (UTC)

- @Ecrusized: I don't see any sign of edit warring or vandalism. Also, I question your 22:25, 2 December 2024 upload of what seems to be a quite different file. As you say, this is highly viewed, and it doesn't seem appropriate to change to a very different map, covering a much wider area. Seems to me that should be a distinct map, even if you think it is now important to show what is happening in the south. - Jmabel ! talk 01:05, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- I understand your concerns. I have requested auto patrol protection pre-emptively to prevent any edit/revert warring that may arise in the future, similar to the Hamas-Israel war map. The old map had became unusable as the scope of the offensive expanded beyond its border, and like you've pointed out, its showing the south, and the SDF offensive in eastern Deir ez-Zor region that started today. Although you are probably right that it should be added as a separate file due to being vastly different from the old ones. Ecrusized (talk) 08:49, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
