KENT-B694F1. Copper alloy Roman brooch (front).
Description
English: Cast copper alloy Roman brooch. This knee brooch has an angular 's' shaped profile. There is a pierced lug behind the semi-circular headplate to hold the intact 10 sprung pin. There is a long rectangular catchplate on the reverse of the bow. The brooch is undecorated. Knee brooches are of continental origin and date from the 2nd century AD. It is 37.55mm long, 21mm wide and 17.84mm thick.
