In most countries, all paintings, sculpture, architecture, text, and other creative works have copyrights which last for 50 years after the death of the creator. An image of a work that is still under copyright is a derivative work, and infringes on the copyright so that we cannot usually keep the image on Commons. In some countries, there is a special exception to the copyright law which allows such images under certain circumstances. We call that exception freedom of panorama (FOP). Unfortunately there is no applicable FOP exception in Rwanda.

Speedy keep. Carrefour logo is above the Threshold of originality in the US. Similar images are below the threshold of originality required for copyright protection. Especially the Subway and Nikken logos are good examples. The Carrefour logo is just a square of red and blue colors with a transparent "C" letter. It's not complicated enough to be above the US standards.

- The design of all works listed above bases on File:Logo Carrefour sans texte.png, which is the original logo and trademark of Carrefour. Carrefour S.A. is a company which bases in France. Country of origin of the Carrefour logo is France then.
- According to Commons:Copyright rules policy: Files uploaded to Commons should be free both in the country of origin (as defined by the Berne Convention) and in the United States of America. Other juridical territories are not involved in the creation of the work.
- According to Commons:Threshold of originality policy, the examples of the Threshold of originality in the United States given above are: OK to upload to Commons, because they are below the threshold of originality required for copyright protection and are judged ineligible for copyright protection by a court or similar authority.
- According to Commons:Threshold of originality policy, the Threshold of originality in the France: asserts that a work is copyrightable when it bears the "imprint of the personality of the author" and In practice, it depends on the work in question, but this has left the bar quite low for many works where an artistic intent can be shown.
- The logo of Carrefour Group presents the design of the same nature which was already judged by the United States Copyright Office as ineligible to be copyrighted. In addition, the logo of Carrefour Group does not show the personality of the author or the artistic intent as required by the French law. Therefore, the copyright for the logo of Carrefour Group does not exist.

- As a response to the above, I posted my vote of speedy keep for this work as I did not see a right rationale to contest the copyright status of this logo just by relying on personal votes. Unlike yours unfortunately, my vote has a rationale with a legal basis.
- Regarding the legal jurisdiction of the Carrefour Group headquarters it is difficult for me to understand why you provided Spain as a country which is binding in Threshold of originality to the logo of Carrefour Group. Spain was not the source country of this work and/or the country originally involved in its initial creation or first publication.
- If believe that you should include Spain in the copyright scope of the work and did not find information you were interested then you should rather apply the rule of assuming the copyright good status of the file. You just provide as your rationale a statement that I don't see a section under TOO for the country of Spain.

- When creating previous request, I did not realize, that this is big white C on blue and red background. Writing big white C into square in such way, that I do not understand, that this is C in square, clearly shows personality of the author and artistic intent. - Delete all. According to com:TOO the threshold for France seems to be "imprint of the personality of the author" and one cannot deny that such a threshold is met with those logo's. Also it’s required that a work is free in the source country and the US. Therefor the US examples are irrelevant. I would also note that fonts can be copyrighted in Europe. Therefor the “it’s just a C-argument” has little merit. I would find it funny to read that company’s cannot hold a copyright over their logo’s but it’s just plain sad honestly. I would recommend that Rezonansowy takes an introduction course about copyright before they accuse others off “completely ignore any standards of merit discussion”. - Speedy keep the file File:Logo Carrefour Express (naranja).svg should not be deleted because it is placed in several articles on motorways and highways as part of a CEPSA service area or petrol station integrated with Carrefour Express. The problem is not the rights of the author, but, the problem is that the icon has to appear for the transparency to the drivers. There are several logos of other food chains that are integrated in the petrol station and for this reason, please do not delete the file.

I don’t know whether the file’s contents are the same as before, but the file’s log suggests that the original uploader may have returned under a different name. While the pages might not be complex, the user's images of the title pages does not supersede the copyright of the books. Undelete in either 2033 or 2034 depending on how we classify by UK or US publication.
And I don't think the 1982 video game is public domain. Don't know much about it, but doubt the game is the work of that uploader. Of which they have had materials deleted in the past.

- If there is nothing copyrightable copied, then there is no problem even if the text of the books is still under copyright. The parts I would be a bit concerned with would be the illustrations partly visible on the left -- would be better to crop those out or blur them a bit. The second part would be the small drawings on the title page itself. The one from the second edition looks familiar -- if other books from before 1929 had the same drawing, or one close enough such that changes weren't copyrightable (such as this one), it may be fine. The one from the first edition I don't recognize offhand, but again if it was used in pre-1929 books it would also be OK, but we may need to find it. Carl Lindberg (talk) 06:27, 3 February 2024 (UTC)

- I also found this 1928 mark for the publisher. This isn't the best version of it, but it is a wholly different design. So it seems the one present in the 1938 printings was at least based on older versions as shared above.

The image is an screenshot from a video hosted in Viemo under a CC-BY license. The problem is that the video is an ad from the costmetics company Decoté, and the uploader is not this company, but Crooked House Films, the company hired to make the commercial. It is normal that on WHF works, the copyright holder is the company paying for it, and not the commissioned company. - Not necessarily. Copyright is normaly owned by the individuals creating the movie or their employer, not whoever payed for the work. If I hire a painter to create a painting for me, I own the painting and I can use it for whatever I want, but I don't get the copyright.

- It is not our problem if they get sued for hosting a video on Vimeo with the wrong license, but it is our problem if we host it in Commons since our users can get sued for reusing it. The COM:PCP is quite clear, about it: we cannot keep images if there is a significant doubt about their copyright status. The question here is not about what is hypothetically possible, but what is the most likely scenario. A marketing company doesn't make a commercial for BMW hiring actors, paying for music rights, etc and then goes to BMW headquarters to see if they would like to buy a license to use it. We can keep these images if we have a COM:VRT ticket where Crooked House Films shows evidence that they keep the copyright of the ads they were hired to produce. - No, we don't have to, as the copyright cannot be sold. As I said, they could have exclusively licensed the work to BMW, but then if they license it to someone else, that license is also valid, even if BMW would want to sue them for breach of their contract. Since it seems to be undisputed that Crooked House indeed uploaded this to Vimeo, whatever contract they have with somebody else is irrelevant. La legislación española establece el plazo de 80 años para el mantenimiento del copyright para las obras publicadas antes de 1987.
Por tanto pienso que esta imagen está dn dominio público.
Si la razón por la que se propone borrar, no se refiere al copyright, agradeceré que se expongan con claridad las razones.
