فلسطين هي جزء طبيعي من بلاد الشام ومنطقة تاريخية تقع شرق البحر الأبيض المتوسط تصل بين جزئي العالم العربي الأسيوي والأفريقي بوقوعها وشبه جزيرة سيناء عند نقطة إلتقاء القارتين، حدودها ما بين العراق والبحر المتوسط. وتحتوي هذه المنطقة على عدد كبير من المدن الهامة وعلى رأسها مدينتي القدس وبيت لحم وحيفا.
لسلطة الوطنية الفلسطينية هي حكم ذاتي فلسطيني كان نتاج اتفاق أوسلو، وأنشئت بقرار من المجلس المركزي الفلسطيني في دورته المنعقدة في 10 أكتوبر 1993 في تونس، ويعول عليها أن تكون نواة الدولة الفلسطينية المقبلة والتي طالما حلم بها الشعب الفلسطيني. قامت السلطة الفلسطينية بعدة مهام من أهمها:
פלשתינה הוא כינויה הלועזי של ארץ ישראל, המגדיר את האזור המקראי שכיום הוא מחולק לשלושה: מדינת ישראל, הגדה המערבית שבשטחיה ישנם אזורים שמוחזקים בריבונות ממשלת הרשות הפליסטינית, ורצועת עזה שבה הקים החמאס מערכת ממשלתית. לאזור יש גבול דרומי-מערבי עם חצי-האי סיני המצרי, גבול מזרחי עם ממלכת ירדן, גבול צפוני עם לבנון, וגבול צפוני-מזרחי עם סוריה.
Palestine is the name of state and a geographical and historical region, nowadays divided between ► Israel,[2] the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) has control over part of the West Bank, and Hamas has control over the Gaza Strip. Maps of the PNA are included in this entry.
