Howland Island - Howland Island
Howland Island is an uninhabited island located just north of the equator in the central Pacific Ocean at 0°48′N 176°38′W, about 3,100 km (1,675 nautical miles) southwest of Honolulu. It is an unincorporated territory of the United States, administered from Washington, D.C. by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service of the U.S. Department of the Interior as part of the National Wildlife Refuge system. Howland Island, as well as ► Baker Island, ► Jarvis Island, ► Johnston Atoll, ► Kingman Reef, ► Midway Atoll, ► Wake Island, and ► Palmyra Atoll, lies in the Pacific Ocean, south of Hawaii.
