- It's better to have an unofficial logo than to have a bland service pack calendar on a page about such an obscure topic. If (any) builds were compiled of Triton then there must've been a logo for it, however there's no official logo anywhere so I resorted to using an unofficial one. - Putting in a fake logo gives the misleading impression that the project was farther along in development than it actually was. Indeed, I have found an account by a Microsoft dev who had a heavy hand in Neptune that it was barely planned beyond a scheduled release date and projected hardware support. (Full quote, since it's beyond a paywall: "NT Triton was another minor release, and it was scheduled for Q4FY01, or the second calendar quarter of 2002. Since this release was so far out, there wasn’t much information about it in Microsoft’s 1998 planning documentation. The only item of note is “new hardware support for CY01 holiday. - Are w sure that the picture was taken from public road? There is no geotagging there. My impression is that this picture was taken from the private garden. - Keep: Looking at Google Maps and Street View it looks like the picture was taken from the sidewalk at the following location. The sidewalk is pretty wide there, so the angle is possible.

- Wenn Innenaufnahmen eines öffentlich zugänglichen Gebäudes nicht unter die Panoramafreiheit fallen, sollte auch die dritte Datei aus der Serie gelöscht werden. Etwas verwundert bin ich schon, da in der Wikipedia sehr viele Innenaufnahmen von Kirchen zu finden sind.

Keep. The copyright mark is not a reason to delete a file, if it is otherways acceptable photo. The watermark can be removed. But if the file has other problems as well (they are not pointed here), then watermark can be additional reason towards deletion. - I don't think this necessarily has to be deleted. I included the sources in this file from the File:Mursunsydämet.svg and added higher quality descriptions of the image - yet the original authors are still credited and the source linked on the page. In short, whichever you feel that is the proper way, but I can't help but feel that this superior version should replace the File:Mursunsydämet.svg in all associations, as the lines in this have been fixed compared to the original. The broken lines were entirely unacceptable for an .svg file. In addition the term 'Tursaansydän' is much more common today than 'Mursunsydän' which contributes as well. - I don't think you understand what creative commons means or understand much about copyright policies, again the image is used on wikipedia thus i'm explaining why its not allowed for use on wikipedia but since both commons and wikipedia (in this case the english wikipedia) have the same policy on image uploads, that image isn't allowed for use on either project even though it can be uploaded to enwiki and used under 'fair-use' (but since the person in the image is alive and active, it won't be allowed) but not allowed on commons as its not free because the copyright policy states its 'non-commercial' and even though wikimedia itself is 'non-commercial' (for now), we don't allow images released under that rights to be used on commons as its not free, images/videos that can be used on commons should either be in the public domain, creative commons BY and/or share-alike (not non-derivative or non-commercial) and under certain USGovt licensing (not all) as not every federal govt released images/videos fall under a fully free licence.... which is the case for this one... This image was hastily restored and without a consensus on the premise that The Dark Side Of The Moon album is a Unites States work that failed to comply with Unites States copyright formalities. This is nonsense and appropriate basis has not been offered.
- Per COM:L, works must be free in both the United States and country of origin, if different.
- This is not a United States work:
- The Dark Side Of The Moon cover was designed by Hipgnosis (an English graphic design firm) and George Hardie (an English graphic designer). The cover was purchased by Pink Floyd (an English band). To the extent a band is not a legal entity, the purchasing entity would be understood to be the individual band members (all English) or EMI Recording Studios (an English music recording studio). Accordingly, this work was created by an English entity, sold to an English entity, and necessarily distributed though multiple entities such as printers, advertisers, etc. before any album on which it appeared was offered to consumers (verily, one must print an album before it can exist to be sold).
- UK Copyright Law, like US copyright law, holds that copyright subsists upon creation. If the argument that this is a United States work because it was first published on album covers in the United States is to be accepted, the aforementioned transactions, sales, and distributions would necessarily have been of an unpublished work. UK Copyright Law sets forth the "If the work is unpublished [...] the country of origin is [...] the country of which the author of the work is a national". (15A(5)) Accordingly, even hypothetical acceptance of first publication on a United States album cover would not render this a United States work under UK law.
- Further, even if we ignore the work's existence and UK origin as an unpublished work, publication in the United Kingdom was within 30 days of the earlier publication in the United States (the basis for restoration was 24 February 1973 Billboard appearance, and there was a London premier 27 February 1973). - Weak keep I agree with elcobbola's analysis of the facts under U.K. law above, and I agree that this artwork is copyrighted in the United Kingdom. However, I don't think that U.K. law is the right lens under which to examine the copyright status—COM:L states that

, we appear to have simultaneous publication in the United States and the United Kingdom, and the U.R.A.A. analysis given in the undeletion discussion indicates that the work is presently in the public domain in the United States due to simultaneous publication in the U.S.A. and abroad while failing to adhere to U.S.A. copyright formalities for copies distributed in America (a number of dates regarding how the artwork was first used in several contexts are available in several documents available at TSDR, none of which appear pre-date to the advertisement in Billboard that was brought up in that discussion). In other words, my reading of that policy is that in this case of simultaneous publication in the United Kingdom and the United States, what Commons deems the "country of origin" would appear to be the United States when the United States grants less copyright protection—regardless of the nationality of the creator. (Similarly, the country of origin would be the United Kingdom when the U.K. grants less copyright protection, though this is moot because the file has to be PD in the U.S.A. even if the U.S.A. is not the country of origin.)My reason for describing this as "weak keep" is that, in hindsight after starting all of this, this seems to be relying on an edge case that may not have been the subject of adequate public discussion when the policy was written. - Delete - Shouldn't have been undeleted in the first place. Now it has, but then it should be re-deleted. Treating the album cover as one of US works is a lot to ask for, especially in this international project and when the cover was created and designed by British artist under a British company. We can't assume that it's a US work just because a few of US magazines like Billboard used the cover as part of pre-release advertising. Other UK publications must have most likely used the album cover as well before the album's initial UK release. We can't assume the album cover

- Delete The keep argument is interesting, but it is involved rather than simple. Several conditions must align. It wants to use US law on a UK creation for a publication failure, but it does not want to use the US sense of publication, so there is an argument that the UK sale was not publication but rather licensing. This logo is different from a logo I found looking through the Durham University Journal archives (volumes 19-20). The Cross and the Chevron with 3 lions are included in a 1912 issue along with a Latin motto "Fundamenta Ejus Super Montibus Sanctis". It's possible this logo could be more recent like from 1963 when the men's version and the women's version amalgamated. It's also possible the differences are below the ToO in the United Kingdom. Photos of cosplayers by Martino Photos

I am the owner of the Martino Photos Flickr page. I already wrote to the Wikimedia Commons Support Team by e-mail and they explained me that I should open a mass deletion request.
I am writing you because I noticed that some photos of cosplayers that we uploaded with a cc-by-sa license by mistake on Flickr have been copied to Commons (we have always used a cc-by-nc-sa license, and today we are using a "All Rights Reserved" license for them). I perfectly understand that you were allowed to do that, but today I would like to ask you for a "courtesy deletion" of those photos. You can keep all the other files (photos of animals) and take the ones that we will publish in the future with a cc-by-sa license.
You wrote in the guideline that you "understand that people make mistakes, change their mind or for other personal reasons desire to have their contributions deleted”, that you are "under no legal obligation to delete [an image], [h]owever, administrators are normally sympathetic to well-reasoned removal requests”. I'll try to give you a well-reasoned request. First of all it was a mistake that I did at the moment of the upload, I would like this to be very clear, even if I am not asking for a deletion on copyright-based rationale. Secondly, we obtained from those girls the permission to publish their images on Flickr, Facebook or Instagram, but we never discussed about publishing them on other sites such as Wikimedia Commons. I am worried that in the future some of them will become really annoyed discovering the presence of the photos here, out of their control, and maybe copied to other websites too. All the photos of the cosplayers contain the watermark (it is “strongly discouraged” on Commons) and it can't be removed easily as you can see. Most importantly, deleting the photos won't have an impact on the Wikimedia projects: currently they are not used at all and there are plenty of pictures on Commons that represent the same characters. And finally, I think that some of those girl may have been underage.
In conclusion, for all the reasons listed here, I would like to ask you for the "courtesy deletion" of the photos of the cosplayers that we have made. All the photos are in the category Photographs by Martino Photos with watermarks.
I thank you in advance for the time you will invest in this procedure.

- Does seem like a large number of photos for someone to have accidentally mis-licensed. That said, they do not seem to be particularly valuable images, and they are the sort of thing that would probably require a model release for most practical uses. - Delete all and block MartinoPhotos (in both senses: their uploads, also uploads of their content) from any further uploads here.
- This is not a courtesy deletion, it's a deletion of sheer convenience for Commons, to try and limit our ongoing involvement with an unfortunate situation like this.
- I can understand how an error is made, how it affects a whole large batch and how it doesn't get spotted over two years. But this wasn't a clerical error like that, it was instead an error of choice, of choosing the wrong licence. I'm particularly concerned that a "commercial photographer" claiming to have been in this game for a decade can misunderstand licensing so badly two years ago, and now, even after they've hit a licensing mess that needs to be sorted out, they still don't understand the basics (When they should by now have sat down and properly sorted out the legal basis for their whole business!). Thus this is not a photo source that we can trust for any future licensing, even for the kitten pics.
- These were never "licensed to Flickr but not Commons". They were licensed. A licence does not care where the content ends up (at least, not the pro-forma licences like the CC family). So the whole basis of, "We're now concerned that these images under an incorrect licence might go to places they should not" is a false premise. The claimed error is that a -nc- restriction was omitted. A restriction that would have ruled out uploads here, but it would also have ruled out uploads to Facebook or Instagram. If the uploader still doesn't have such a thing straight, then those are big problems and Commons shouldn't be entangling itself in them.
- Record keeping for models or model release also seems lacking and comments like, "may have been underage" are the sort of reason why 'togs are so regularly unpopular amongst Con organisers.
- I would remind the photographer that these images are all validly licensed without the -nc- restriction, will continue to be so, and anyone who approaches Commons to confirm that will be told so – Commons offered these for download and use under that licence, and will defends its right to have done so (even on the basis of a "mistaken" original licence). For the sake of the project, we can do no other. If you have to explain that to an irate model, then that's your problem, not ours.
- I expect(ed) the opposing opinion (I see Andy above has gone that way) and I absolutely respect that viewpoint. I would be happy to see all these kept, on that basis, because the irrevocability argument is also a strong one. - Keep As uploader of many (maybe almost if not all this images). I only briefly say that there is zero proof that MartinoPhotos is the same person that has the flickr account. But below, just for the sake of argument, i will pretend that MartinoPhotos and the flickr account are the same.
- About the claim that MartinoPhotos mades that he "think that some of those girl may have been underage" is seriously dubious. (and that is if this user is really the same as in flickr)
- First is dubious argument that maybe some models might be underage do not stick as this possibility of some cosplayers being underage did not stop this flickr account of still having all photos of this deletion request still uploaded and public in flickr or stopped the same flickr account of uploading images to flickr of cosplayers in the last Riminicomix (Riminicomix 2022), only with the license changed and that fact does sticks well to that statement of concern. Even worst that statement of concern did not stopped this flickr account of having thousands more photos of the same events and cosplayers available for download on Google Drive on as of July 2022 or or the same thousands more photos of the same events and cosplayers available in Facebook available as of today, April 24 2023, and having said facebook albuns linked from its flickr userpage as of today, April 24 2023
- Second, this flickr account also links to the instagram profiles of almost all cosplayers so that mere speculation has even less holding as this account knows who this cosplayers are.
- And, as most likely this account knows, participating cosplayers in Riminicomix are announced in Riminicomix official website and all cosplayers in Riminicomix have to sign a image and personality rights waiver for participating in this event as cosplayers, even, in the remote possibility of some of this cosplayers being underage, as those image and personality rights waiver have to be signed by the underaged cosplayer and its legal tutor, as this waiver already existed in 2011.
- In the Riminicomix 2022, there was the need of a previous inscription for cosplayers on the official website of the organizers of Riminicomix 2022 and again a link to an image and personality rights waiver.
- So no personality rights concerns, as this is a public event, the models are clearly posing and there is image waiver signed for every cosplayer. Hello, I did not want to interfere with the procedure too much, but I would like to clarify some points. And if you have some questions, I will be happy to answer you. First of all, I am the owner of that Flickr account, I think that the line that I temporarily added here can prove it, but let me know if I can do it in a different way. For the people who have doubts about the accidental mis-licensing because of the large number of photos, I would like to point out that on Flickr you define a license in the settings and you always use it by default, that's why the mistake happened on a lot of contiguous files. I would like to reiterate that you have the right to keep the photos here, but I am asking for a courtesy, especially because deleting the files won't have a significant impact on the Wikimedia projects. Moreover, I would like to clarify that I am not a "commercial photographer" or a "professional", but more of a hobbyst, and most of the cosplayers too. The cosplayers that are listed in the webpages linked by Tm are the official guests: only those models can be considered professional, but most of the subjects of the photos are not, and they did not have to sign an image and personality rights waiver for participating. That's why I am worried that they could disagree with the presence of the photos here and that's why I opened this procedure. Regards, MartinoPhotos.
- The files are clearly in scope and files that are in scope and have no other problems like copyright reasons are not deleted, specially files that are in here for several years.
- Your assertion that the license was wrong because "you define a license in the settings and you always use it by default" then you know that default license in flickr settings is always all rights reserved and never any CC type license and that you changed the license to CC by your own volation and free will and not by accident as when you change the default license on flickr you are asked several times if you want to change the license, so that assertion and the fact that you had your photos licensed as CC for several years does not hold well to the fact that you made an mistake in licensing.
- Worst yet, if you have any concern about the images of this cosplayers why did you had this and many more thousands of images of this cosplayers avaible to dowload on a public Google Drive linked from your flickr userpage until at least July 20222? If do you have any concern about the images of this cosplayers why you still have as of today this and many more thousands of images of this cosplayers in Facebook also linked from your flickr userpage? That two factors does not add up to any concern you might say you have.
- But most important the links i have provided proves that all the cosplayers have to sign a waiver to be inscribed and to participate in the cosplaying activities of Riminicomix, not only some, so that assertion is clearly misleading either because you havent read the links i have provided or because the cosplayers were clearly modeling as can be seen in many other photos taken by other photographers of the same cosplayers also available online or even videos of the same place and settings of your photos.

Hello. I am not going to insist. As I said I have asked for a courtesy deletion, because the subjects of the photos have not been informed that the files could have been uploaded here, but you prefer to talk about scope and copyright. I agree with you: it was perfectly right to upload the files here. But that’s not the point and I understand how you, as the uploader, may be annoyed by my request. I hope that other users will be more sympathetic towards my request of removing files that are not used or unique. Let me just point out that the waiver you are referring to had not to be signed to participate to the convention (it is a free outdoor event), but it has been used by the organizer of the contest that took place on a stage. And, to answer your questions, we keep the photos on Facebook because that’s what we have discussed with the models, while the Google drive links were for them to take the photos. Once again, the license I used to use was cc-by-nc-sa, as you can see for the previous photos, so it has been an honest mistake. Regards, MartinoPhotos.

1960 Italian photograph. The photograph might be simple enough to be public domain, the photograph also has writing on it, and the writing might be enough above the ToO to have a copyright, but I don't read Italian so I cannot tell for myself that. Abzeronow (talk) 18:05, 24 April 2023 (UTC)
Question Are the texts of simple dedication inscriptions on photos subject to copyright as if they were poetry or something? I don't think I would have nominated a photo for deletion based on non-calligraphic script I couldn't read.
