Contrast improvement
[edit]Hello, this map[1] is used in hiwiki but its contrast and light is not in good alignment. Please improve it. Regards. NXcrypto (talk) 10:48, 30 November 2024 (UTC)

Museums
[edit]I think this is ill-conceived, unless you and possibly some others want to take on a major project of separating out categories for museum buildings from categories for museums as institutions. For the supermajority of museums, pictures of the building are under Category:Museums and not under Category:Museum buildings. Remember, categorization is mainly about helping people find things, not about ontology. - Jmabel ! talk 20:01, 1 January 2025 (UTC)
- Actually, I'm wondering WTF Category:Museum buildings is doing. Since there's a separate category for museum buildings compared to museums as institutions, I thought it was weird for Category:Museums to come under building categories, and the actual target is Category:Museum buildings. Sbb1413 (he) (talk • contribs • uploads) 02:16, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
- NB: The Museums/Museum branches/Museum buildings distinction is similar to the Banks/Bank branches/Bank buildings distinction. Sbb1413 (he) (talk • contribs • uploads) 02:21, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
Excuse me, what are you doing? Where is the consensus to rename a whole category tree? -- Blackcat 13:16, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
- This is the result of the consensus at Commons:Categories for discussion/2024/02/Category:Roads and streets. Sbb1413 (he) (talk • contribs • uploads) 13:18, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
- Ok, then. Let's ask to the bot to to the job though, is too much for one only. -- Blackcat 13:22, 15 January 2025 (UTC)

Hi. I didn't see the discussion until after I had already moved everything to Category:Religious movements. Sorry if me doing that screws with the CfD, but at least it gets rid of the intersectional thing and then people can argue about what exactly the difference is between a "faith", "tradition", and "movement" from there. I have my own opinions, but I'll save them for another time. I will note that there's already Category:Religious traditions and there's an existing Wikidata for "religious movements." So it makes sense to do it that way. A lot of religions aren't faith based anyway, which is the main reason I emptied the category to begin with. Adamant1 (talk) 17:08, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
- Anyway, no problem. I'm creating the Category:Religions category as an umbrella category, where Category:Religious traditions, Category:Religious movements, etc. will come. Sbb1413 (he) (talk • contribs • uploads) 17:33, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
- Cool. That works. --Adamant1 (talk) 17:56, 17 January 2025 (UTC)

Old men wearing vests has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at [[{{{2}}}|its entry]]. If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category. In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you! |
