- Sorry, I got this probably wrong. The description says that Andrew is the actor. But since the video is apparently taken with a frame (the camera doesn't move), he can of course also be the copyright holder. But since the video is apparently taken with a frame (the camera doesn't move), he can of course also be the copyright holder. Comment In the center there is text saying "© WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS". However, to be a proper copyright notice it would have to include the date. The text to the left of the Buena Vista logo is unfortunately unintelligible. It is certainly not a four-digit year, but it could be a Roman-numeral year. This photograph, published as a postcard in 1930 in Germany, is credited to Atélier Stone, Berlin. That was a photo studio run by a couple, Sasha Stone and Cami Stone. While Sasha died in 1940, Cami lived until 1975. So this photo is still protected in the US until the end of 2026 (because the URAA restored its US Copyright) and in Germany and other 70 years pma countries until the end of 2045. The uploader was blocked without warning, and remains blocked despite my repeated objections, because Commons is not an amateur porn site. Yet 10 of their 12 uploads remain, because they were not nominated for deletion. This is a contradiction.
Three files are used on other projects: Male ass.jpg (ja:尻), Male Testicles.jpg (ru:Мужская репродуктивная система) and MalePerinium.jpg (en:Perineum). The last one, at least, looks legitimate (compare with the female image). Another two files look useful (though the only substantial difference is the way the background is redacted, and we probably only need one): Relaxed and tense scrotum.jpg and RelaxedAndTenseScrotum.jpg. If we keep those, we should also keep their source files: TenseScrotum.jpg and RelaxedScrotum.jpg. I am neutral on the remaining three files.

- I am no expert on this, but to me, the resolution and general quality of the files seem consistent with an amateur smartphone photo; the three files that are in use have EXIF data identifying the same phone model. - If the admins block a user without warning, then keep repeating their ‘amateur porn site’ line as if it is obvious and no one should be questioning it, then they are effectively saying that all of the user’s uploads should be deleted. So I nominated all of them for deletion.

- 1) I don't accept that User:VikimanSE contributions add up to the user using Wikipedia as an amateur porn site. There are plenty of users who have uploaded similar material over a much longer period of time who have not been banned or had their work deleted.
- 2) I think the interpretation of COM:UNBLOCK, which seems to be "Admit you're a naughty boy and you can stay, object and you're banned" is lousy.
- 3) The blocker's comment "I do not like to discuss sexual images." gives the game away as to motivation.
- 4) The images are in use on other projects as has been pointed out.

Per Commons:Copyright_rules_by_territory/Germany copyright for stamps of the GDR last up to 70 after the date of the designer, who in this case died in 1969. So the stamp is copyrighted until at least 2039. Same goes for the following images:

- Comment and Question. The photo has been on Commons for three months. I generally like extending courtesy deletions to authors, but the likelihood that someone has downloaded from Commons with a valid license seems to be too high. The only reason I would support deletion here is if the license itself is not valid (i.e. the uploader is not the copyright holder), but I don't really see tremendous reason to doubt that given that (a) the uploader isn't saying they aren't copyright holder and (b) they have uploaded a lot of photos of this man.Along those lines, @Yokohama2022: Were you the photographer in this photograph? - Assuming good faith, @Clara Albuquerque de Jesus Toledo's other uploads could only happen, if the uploader had no experience whatsoever with licensing. Therefore it is very likely that this file was also uploaded carelessly instead of actually being freely licensed.
- It might have been better to use a missing permission tag instead of a DR. I don't remember reading a guideline with specific criteria for preferring one over the other. Sorry, if this was a mistake.

- Comment All these pictures should be deleted if there are copyright problems, but I think the winner of w:Miss Earth 2022 is sufficiently notable for photos of her to be hosted if they lack copyright problems, regardless of whether she's notable enough at present for Arabic Wikipedia to host an article that's specifically about her. Also, if photos were automatically deleted from Commons if the subject of the photo uploaded them, we'd be shooting ourselves in the foot. The only issue with that if the subject is notable enough is that the copyright-holder (usually the photographer) would have to agree to a suitable Creative Commons license. - At the very least, I've had no hits from reverse image search, but I've also had no results from anyone named 'Virgil Lucky'. Guessing that's just a username. Closest I can find to an original photograph, for the HFRS opening day image, is from this Hull Daily Mail compilation, which in classic Hull Daily Mail form, doesn't credit a photographer.
- May be best if we get some clarification in from the uploader. It might be a big stretch, but I have a vague theory they might be their own photos from working for a local newspaper? - Yeah this is a odd. Lots of links to York acting / theatre / arts in the 1960s and 70s so clearly a group of some description. Agree with the suggestion that they look like newspaper copy. Worth checking if any could be reuploaded as copyrighted fair-use on WP as an image for anyone deceased who doesn't yet have one? So even if deleted there could be use in the medium-term. - It was a freelance Press Agency that my late father owned, so some of the images would have been sold to press for publication alongside the copy. I am currently sorting hundreds of thousands of negatives spanning 40 years, and will be uploading here from time to time if they are relevant for Wiki articles. Thanks for checking! - Hi, I have inherited my late father photographic archive from the Yorkshire Press Agency. I own the copyright on all these images as part of his estate. I am currently scanning this vast photographic archive and uploading relevant photographs for the interest of the public. No one has seen these images since they have been in storage as negative for over 25 years, and the press agency ran from the early 1960s-1997. The picture of HFRS is part of a huge section related to royalty in the archive, I can prove that I own the negatives if needed. Please reach out if you need further clarification. The Hull Daily mail should not be publishing my late father's under their name as I have the original copyright. As for crediting the photographer, there is no information on who the photographer was, as each envelope of negatives does not credit them, and they were under contract to the Yorkshire Press Agency. - Yes, I own my late father's photographic archive. He passed away a few years ago. I am currently scanning the contents of his press agency. Unfortunatlely I don't know the names of the photographers who were under contract with him, but since my father's passing, I have inherited these negatives, and the copyright has passed to me, so the images are one hundred percent my work now. - Delete both files, the first file has a declared source,[4] where the image still is. It can be seen in context here, where is is marked 'All Rights Reserved'. The second file is on a U3A webpage.[5] This may not be its original source, but it gives the key for the 'A' to 'J' labels which suggests that the U3A has not obtained the file from Commons. - Delete: Most of these files are proudly pronounced as 'own work', which would be fine for trivial illustrations of self-explanatory concepts, but not for historical facts. Where is the proof that any of the script files are accurate? The maps are particularly concerning. The ones of the 'largest extent' of Judah and Israel, do have sourcing, but the source is the bible, so a primary religious text without any secondary sourcing. So these are the user's own interpretation of primary religious texts. That is junk, original research of the highest order. The Judah one doesn't even exist in the realm of possibility. It shows a polis extending from the Red Sea to deep into Syria, parallel with Cyprus. Compared this with an actual sourced version of the same entity. The Ashdod file looks similarly suspect, and only gives as its source the topography map used as the bas layer for the rendering, without explaining where any of the actual information came from. I originally tagged these images as "no permission", but the uploader removed the template after adding a link to a tweet reply reading, "Doy permiso a cualquiera que quiera utilitzar el vídeo 👍" (I give permission to anyone who wants to use the video). Simply giving permission for use is insufficient — please see Commons:Licensing, which says, "simply writing that the material may be used freely by anyone."

FWIW, even with your nom explanation, I !vote Keep - the intention of the license being present in how the original creator has allowed the file to be used seems clear to me, with basically every sports publication and other news outlets in Spain using it commercially (post-permission tweet) and the original creator aware of this and sharing such publications on that same account (including asking some to include attribution). - It's okay, maybe should've opened discussion myself. My argument is that, okay, the reason we don't typically accept "I give permission" messages without a license is because the author could come and say that they didn't intend that permission within the limits of any particular license, right, but that in this case, taking the message and the later acknowledgements of the content being used in articles both positive and negative, and author's requests for attribution in that regard (and from the start I noted the other, I think threaded?, tweets - in the hidden note with the license), shows that the author does understand and is applying the limits of a CC-BY license. This image of the Polish coat of arms was not introduced by a normative legal act in Poland. The Cekay user does not have any rights to the graphic design, he has no right to modify, publish and distribute it. Aleksander Bak is the author of the design of the eagle's image. - Two issues. 1) The illustration is definitely a PD-Polishsymbol. The image of the eagle is from the Ordinance of the Council of Ministers [7], and a red shield from the proper coat of arms of Poland has been added to it. Both elements are PD, so their combination is also PD. 2) It is obvious that this is not the correct Polish coat of arms. A simplified image of an eagle is used as a logo, not as a coat of arms with a shield. For this reason, this image is not correct - it is solely the author's vision (although the source for this graphic is given, however, there is no such graphic on the given web-page). - Comment: The TinEye link expired. I re-did the search and the image apparently was on https://instagram.com/glaciernps/ belonging to the National Park Service (a US government agency), first found on Dec 13, 2015 at a resolution of only 621x621. I could not find information about whether the image was taken by a government employee (i.e. {{PD-US-Gov}}). Neither could I find a working link to the actual image. - the text on the right is part of the software so it's fine; for the gnu text however, this archive has the text licensed as "Verbatim copying and distribution of this entire article is permitted in any medium without royalty provided this notice is preserved." which forbids derivatives and so is non-free (even the screenshot technically violates it because the quotes are replaced by their entity names) Sobsz (talk) 21:09, 1 June 2023 (UTC)

- and the icons on the right are part of NeXTSTEP and thus non-free too

There is a request on my talk page to review the licenses of a bunch of videos. I don't know why, but I recently gave advice (to a different editor than the one who posted the request) about how to extract images from YouTube videos that have a free license. This video has the correct license. It's from some news outlet ((أخبار الخليج العربي, which Google Translate interprets as Arabian Gulf News; not listed on Wikidata). The video is voice overlaid on some still images. Those still images mostly appear to be copyrighted. I found:
- https://www.aljazeera.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/07a3f64f-376c-427f-8cb3-cdb810e519c8.jpeg, which is used by Al Jazeera and in that article, they appear to claim it as "their" photo
- https://www.aljazeera.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/026ba5edeb1442a3acdfc35639148398_18.jpeg, which is also used by Al Jazeera and they give credit to Ahmed Jadallah of Reuters
- https://www.siasat.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/IMG_18072022_124705_1200_x_900_pixel.jpg, which is used by The Siasat Daily and they give credit to Reuters
Neither Al Jazeera nor Reuters make their work available under a free license so we can readily conclude that the Arabian Gulf News engages in the Youtube-equivalent of Flickr washing. Not the uploader's fault; this is not easy to spot. Schwede66 22:44, 26 January 2023 (UTC)
