Hello dear @Jeff G.,
In fact, I filter images that have been uploaded infringingly and for promotional purposes on the Arabic Wikipedia, and I filter images that do not contain articles that may infringe copyrights.
I would like you to explain the offense that I committed in order to avoid it. Osama Eid (talk) 17:05, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Jeff G.
I discovered the error, it seems that I nominated an image for deletion without explaining the reason for deletion.
I seem to have forgotten that. As I nominate images for deletion using the deletion request tool.
I will be more careful and I will be more attentive.
Thank you for that note. Osama Eid (talk) 17:08, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Unblock request declined

This blocked user asked to be unblocked, but one or more administrators has reviewed and declined this request. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked. Other administrators can also review this block, but should not override the decision without discussion.

Request reason: "Dear Krd,

I received the decision to ban me with great sorrow and sadness, because I did not commit any offense. I wish you had seen my contributions to Wikicommons before I was banned. I have been a contributor since 2017, and on a daily basis I nominate many photos and files that are in violation of deletion.

I want to clarify several important points: 1- Regarding the photos that you nominated for deletion due to copyright, I am very surprised by this decision, the photos are my personal production, and they have not been published previously. Pictures as follows:

  • File:القانوني أسامة عيد.jpg:This picture is my profile picture! It was shot by me with my camera and posted on Wikicommons. How can I steal my profile picture from others? Knowing that it is from my photography!
  • File:The funeral of Shireen Abu Akleh.jpg:This picture is also taken by me, and I photographed it from my personal phone, and I uploaded it to Wikicommons and I have conceded, and it is from my photography! I did not steal it, and it has not been published before.
  • File:Shireen Abu Akleh - Al Jazeera.jpg: This photo is also from my photography, and I took the photo from my mobile camera, and I did not steal the photo, and I uploaded it with the aim of documenting an event that will not be repeated.
  • File:Violence in Hawara 2023.jpg: Imagine, dear! This is a picture of my car, where my car was in the accident for which the picture was posted. It is from my personal photography, and these photos have not been published before, and they are from my photos.
  • File:The Israeli settlers attacked the house of Ibrahim Ali Eid - Burin, Nablus.webm: This video is from my personal production, and this video has not been previously published, and I am the one who uploaded it and photographed it after it was pulled from a surveillance camera.
  • File:Aid sent to earthquake victims in Turkey.jpg: I also took this photo, as I visited Turkey as part of the Red Cross delegation to the Middle East, and I did not steal or transfer the photo.

I usually upload images to WhatsApp, and through the WhatsApp Web service, I drag the images onto my computer and then upload them to Wikicommons. But I swear that these pictures are my production, and they do not violate copyright.

Regarding the multiple accounts, I have been a contributor for a long time, and I did not create other accounts throughout my contribution, and I edit and upload files only through my account (Osps7). I live in an area that lacks international and high-quality Internet services because I live in the Palestinian Territories, and an entire city usually shares one IP address, because Internet services are provided by one Internet distributor. And I don't remember that I created any other account. I would like you to clarify my multiple accounts, because I am really shocked by that.

Dear Krd, I wish you would have alerted me, pointed out the bug, or asked for clarification. The decision to ban will close many opportunities in my face, as I was ready to participate in the Wiki Loves Monuments competition, and I was preparing to create the first educational program on intellectual property rights and copyright in Wikicommons within the Education Program in the Middle East.

I hope that you will give me another chance and ask for any clarification or any commitment, but I am already fighting vandalism, and I contribute within the policies.

my regards--Osama Eid (talk) 17:10, 19 March 2023 (UTC)

Decline reason: "A relationship is Confirmed; you a) had the identical IP address (and within 30 minutes) to Ahmedahmedpsps on 12 January 2023 and b) had the identical IP address (and within an hour) to Ahmedahmedpsps on 12 February 2023 in a completely different range (e.g., 0.0.0.0/1) than January. Notwithstanding you offer no evidence that "entire city usually shares one IP address", it is not necessarily supported by the data set (IP history) and is moot besides as UA data (which appear to have a tell) and edits also support a relationship. As for the latter, all of Ahmedahmedpsps' Commons contributions are as follows: What serendipity that someone completely unrelated to you has: a) identical IPs on disparate dates and ranges; b) the same (and excusive interest) interest in the exact same obscure persons as you; and c) sole language-specific project edits to the Welsh Wikipedia--an esoteric project and language very much removed from Palestine--which you frequent (!!!). The username similarity (Osps7 v Ahmedahmedpsps) seems another tell in this surrounding context. You also, of course, have a history of unambiguous lying. Accordingly, I concur with @Krd: 's finding; the block for abusive of multiple accounts is supported. Эlcobbola talk 17:21, 20 March 2023 (UTC)"[reply]

Dear elcobbola

I agree with you in every sentence you wrote, and before you wrote your comment, I realized the error. But the account is not created by me, and I used the account, but I did not use the account for vandalism, and I did not upload violating pictures. And the pictures that you have uploaded have not been previously published and are not infringing. You say I have a history of lying!! When you banned me the first time, I didn't know I was violating copyright. Unfortunately, the ban decisions against me come without any warning. After that, I proved good faith, as I nominate files and pictures that violate deletion, and I upload pictures of events that will not be repeated in the Middle East. Do I have bad faith? This ban decision is very frustrating and caused me great frustration.

Why is it that before I am blocked, an alert is not sent to me? I exercise the task of alerting users in Wikipedia, in the event that there is more than one account for it, I send an alert (multiple accounts). But I did not use the account with the intention of bad faith. I also sent an email to the Volunteer Response Team because of the photos a colleague recommended for deletion. Do you think this permanent ban is fair? Why am I not banned for a certain period? Why is this decision permanent? I swear to you, it is frustrating and painful... especially since I am not seeking any ill will. I'm sure everyone had a wrong start.

I hope you will help me or ask for any clarification or ask for any commitment in order to help me overcome this prohibition. I hope that you will treat me in the spirit of the law and guide me to the right solution. my regards--Osama Eid (talk) 16:00, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This is disingenuous nonsense:
  1. The warnings you received before being blocked are legion. Verily, as of your Flickrwashing (17 April 2022), you talk page looked like this (!!!). If it is genuinely your contention that you were unable to determine from a) those notices, b) the guidance linked therein, and c) the guidance of the UploadWizard that creating a Flickr account as putative substantiation for a concocted cc license and claiming yourself to be the author of others' photographs would be unacceptable, then the implication would seem that you lack even the very modest compentence required to edit here.
  2. Further disingenuous is the wikilawayering of "I did not create other accounts" (underline added), as if creator rather than the user were the issue. You did in fact say "I edit and upload files only through my account (Osps7)" (underline added) yet now, when caught, acknowledge it to have been yet another lie. That you were previously "really shocked" by the accusation, but now characterise your...forgetfullness...as an "error" is shameless.
You have been treated more than fairly and, as has already been explained to you (another example of lack of competence), indefinite is not permanent. You are blocked indefinitely (without defined end) because you have routinely breached our policies and failed to conduct yourself with honesty, candor, care, clue, or competence. Instead of whining about illusory unfairness to you, consider reflecting on the very real unfairness of your repeated misrepresentations to the Commons community--the utter waste of volunteer resources and time. If you are unprepared to acknowledge the issues and to provide substantive demonstration that they are understood and long since overcome, you should be prepared to remain blocked. Эlcobbola talk 17:11, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Dear @Elcobbola
Your words are logical and correct, and I very much appreciate your concern for Wikicommons and the volunteer community, and I apologize for my wrong behavior.
I promise you that I will be back soon and it will be a new and valid beginning for me.
thank you.

This blocked user asked to be unblocked, but one or more administrators has reviewed and declined this request. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked. Other administrators can also review this block, but should not override the decision without discussion.

Request reason: "To the esteemed Wikimedia Commons management team,

I am writing to submit my request for the removal of the ban that has been imposed on my Wikimedia Commons account, and I would like to express that I have learned from my mistakes and that I have goodwill. During the past period, I have worked on self-improvement and gaining a better understanding of the policies.

I fully realize that my past behavior on the platform did not align with the required standards, but I would like to assure you that I have learned valuable lessons from those missteps. I deeply regret my actions, and I acknowledge that my previous behavior did not reflect my true intentions.

Since the ban was imposed, I have been working diligently to develop myself and understand the policies and guidelines necessary for engaging with Wikimedia Commons. I also participated in the Wikimedia Hackathon2023, which provided me with a deeper understanding of Wikimedia policies, programming, and the principles of its projects. This experience has opened my eyes to how the community works and how I can contribute positively. Although I borne the costs of travel and participation, but I wanted to develop myself and understand the policies of Wikimedia and meet with many colleagues who gave me many advice. I also participated in several activities related to intellectual property, as I became an active volunteer in the Creativecommons Foundation and applied for it to lead its first group in my country, and I studied several courses offered by the Creativecommons Foundation in order to develop my skills in intellectual property and copyright.

I acknowledge that I have made mistakes in the past, but I assure you that my intentions are to enhance and improve Wikimedia Commons through my active contributions. I am committed to adhering to the ethical and behavioral principles of the platform, and I promise to work diligently to uphold those values.

I kindly request a thorough review of my case and a reconsideration of the ban imposed on my account. I am willing to provide any additional information or clarifications that may be necessary to support my request.

I am fully aware that Wikimedia Commons is a community built on collaboration and active participation among its members. I am committed to being a productive member of this community and working on the feedback and guidance from more experienced members.

Thank you in advance for considering my request and granting me the opportunity to rectify my mistakes and return to making positive contributions to Wikimedia Commons.

Yours sincerely,--Osama Eid (talk) 17:30, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

Decline reason: "COM:BP asks an understanding of the issue and a credible commitment to discontinue. You've made no reference whatsoever to your abuse of multiple accounts or your history of lying, and have provided no evidence that these and the underlying copyright issues are understood (verily, regarding only the latter, your recent uploads on ar.wiki violate several local policies related to, at least, FU rationales and sourcing which suggest ongoing lack of clue and/or genuine consideration and respect for project policies). This is not a venue in which you repeat unresponsive requests until you get the answer you desire. You will need to address these issues with specificity and evidence (credibility), not this puffery. Эlcobbola talk 17:55, 24 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello dear User:elcobbola

Thank you for your reply. I submit this request knowing that I made a lot of mistakes, but the previous mistakes were not my true intention. I would like to clarify and disclose the mistakes that I made: 1- Uploading files that do not comply with intellectual property standards and policies, and do not comply with the licensing policy, as I was having trouble uploading the image after uploading it to WhatsApp and taking it from WhatsApp Web, and this was causing the file to lose the data of the digital camera. And I pledge that I have become aware of all licensing policies and all Creative Commons, intellectual property and copyright policies, and I will not violate them again, and I am ready to provide any guarantee for that.

2- I created an account to upload pictures of people, and this behavior was not correct and was in violation, and I was ignorant of the multiple account policies in Wikimedia Commons, but now I am aware of these policies, as I have seen them and taken the opinion of many colleagues in the Wikimedia communities. My behavior by creating an account to pass violating contributions was not correct, and the ban on my account currently I deserve, but I am submitting this request in my desire to follow the right path, and to abide by the policies. Although I made mistakes, I lied for fear of being banned, and this is also wrong, and I learned an important lesson from it.

In all honesty, my experience on Wikimedia Commons has given me fresh thinking, and I'm grateful to you for always pointing out my mistakes.

I wish you to give me one last chance to prove my good faith, and I am ready to provide any guarantee not to repeat the mistakes of the past.

Thank you--Osama Eid (talk) 07:50, 25 May 2023 (UTC)

Request reason: "I am writing to submit a request for the lift of the ban imposed on my account in Wikimedia Commons. I fully acknowledge that the ban was enforced due to my violation of policies and creation of multiple accounts. I openly admit that my previous behavior was inappropriate and contrary to the rules governing the Wikimedia Commons community.

I understand that the ban was a necessary measure to maintain a fair participation system and to foster a collaborative and beneficial environment for all users. I hereby solemnly pledge that the conduct that led to the ban will not be repeated in the future. I am fully aware of the negative impact that can result from repeating such violations, and I recognize that continuing my past behavior would be unacceptable and disallowed within the Wikimedia Commons. I comprehend that the ban is based on the policies, guidelines, and strict rules of Wikimedia Commons. I am prepared to abide by all relevant policies and rules and to uphold them in all my future contributions. I kindly request you to carefully consider my plea and lift the imposed ban on my account. I am willing to work diligently and engage constructively and positively in Wikimedia Commons. I look forward to the opportunity of making valuable contributions to the community.

I would like to express my deep remorse and acknowledgment of these mistakes and I am fully aware of the negative impact they have had on society and my personal reputation.

I am here today to express my sincere acknowledgment and my complete readiness for change and improvement. I realize that honesty and integrity are the basis in dealing with society and management, and that building a new reputation requires strict adherence to ethical values and sound behavior. And I ask you to give me one last chance and a trial period.

During the recent timeframe, I dedicated my efforts to enhancing my understanding of copyright regulations. I thoroughly acquainted myself with the guidelines of Wikimedia Commons and engaged in various workshops and introductory sessions. These experiences have instilled in me a sense of vigilance for the times ahead. I am earnestly requesting a final opportunity to have the ban lifted. The impact of this ban on me has been substantial. With utmost sincerity, I vow to the community to uphold a higher level of commitment. I solemnly promise that the past transgressions will not be repeated.--Osama Eid (talk) 15:10, 16 August 2023 (UTC)

Decline reason: "At first, it is impossible to lift your ban, because you are not banned and have never been. You are indefinitely blocked and this is different.

Users can be unblocked, if they understand reasons and give a credible promise not to continue. The first part is somehow fulfilled, but the other is not. When speaking about your future in Commons, you did not spoke a word about using multiple accounts, which makes me feel, that in your opinion this is not worth of mentioning, while actually it was main reason of your block.

I am worried about your constant lying. You said on 19th of March: "I did not commit any offense." Which is, of course, wrong, as you multiple times confessed later, including in beginning of current unblock request.

You asked on 21th of March: "Why is it that before I am blocked, an alert is not sent to me?" What is this?

For sockpuppet account you claimed on 21st of March "But the account is not created by me" and in 25th of May "My behavior by creating an account to pass violating contributions was not correct".

Before I unblocked you in December 2022, you said: I pledge that I will not repeat the violations, and I will abide by all licensing policies and laws (bold in original). Unfortunately my trust in you is expired.

As three your unblock requests in a row have been declined, I reblock you without talkpage access. You are still not banned, only indefinitely blocked. Taivo (talk) 13:05, 27 August 2023 (UTC)

I got your e-mail

[edit]

Hi, Osps7. You wrote me an e-mail and requested unblock.

I am disappointed, because you made multiple mistakes in the e-mail.

Most important, you were blocked for abusing multiple accounts, but you did not mention multiple accounts (or sockpuppetry) at all. It was not worth mentioning for you, but actually it was main reason of your block. I already said the same, when I declined your last unblock request.

At second, I explained you multiple times, that you are not banned and have never been, but still you spoke about ban and not a block. This shows learning disability.

At third, you did not say in your e-mail (and also in previous unblock requests), why do you need to be unblocked, what will you do in Commons, when unblocked. I got a lot of word foam, but no evidence, that you have changed.

As four of your requests in a row have all been declined, I will reblock you without talkpage and e-mail access. Please never send me another e-mail. You are still not banned, only indefinitely blocked. Taivo (talk) 20:45, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
