- @Juan Benjamin Samaniêgo But there are other projects besides Wikipedia! For example, there is Wikidata, where this file is currently used (wikidata:Lexeme:L120388). Anyway, this photo could be useful for an encyclopedia too.

- Weak keep While the argument here is about whether or not the cat photo is out-of-scope, it appears to be meaningfully used on Wikidata. Generally, in-use files are considered to be in-scope; I see no reason that this is a special case. This seems like it's genuinely the uploader's own work rather than some feline copyright violation, so I don't see compelling reason to delete an in-use photo even if the uploader requests deletion. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 15:20, 20 December 2022 (UTC)

Question What is original and therefore copyrightable about File:IKEA Alam Sutera, Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia.jpg? We see nothing of the building but part of a tetrahedron painted blue with the word "IKEA" in block letters painted yellow. [edit]The files of this flickr user do have a valid license at flickr, but are found all over the Internet and come from all over the world, in a way that makes it most likely that at least a number of them aren't originally from the flickr user. Because of that, we cannot trust any of the files to be legitimately licensed. An IP user found some very probable copyright violations and tried to have the files speedy deleted, which only worked for some. Example evidence:
- File:Malaguti Drakon 125.jpg appears to originally come from this ebay page, which even has shots with the uploader's company name
- File:ZNEN Veracruz.jpg appears to originally come from this Hong Kong shop page, which has more pictures than the flickr account
More suspicious links can be found at the uploader's talk page, who has done nothing intentionally wrong - the flickr account didn't look suspicious to me at all at first glance.

Freedom of panorama is solely about works protected by copyright, like these windows. - Hallo,
- was den File Sangerhausen, Herz-Jesu-Kirche, Innenansicht betrifft, so wäre es nicht im Sinne von Wikipedia, wenn wegen den weit im Hintergrund brfindlichen Fenster, der gesamte schone Innenraum der Kirche nicht mehr dargestellt werden darf. Sobald das Bild gelöscht ist, retuschiere ich die Fenster aus dem Bild und stelle es mit entsprechendem Hinweis wieder Wikipedia zur Verfügung.

- Objection! Aus meiner Sicht sollte hier die Anwendung des §57 UrhG geprüft werden. Bei diversen der hier eingstellten Fotos ist das Urheberrecht nicht unzulässig verletzt, da die Fenster nur Beiwerk im Gesamtkontext sind. Wirklich viel von den Fenstern erkennen kann man auf vielen der Bilder eh nichts.
Zunächst bemerke ich, dass ich im Bild nicht selbst die Category:Charles Crodel eingefügt habe, weil wegen der Entfernung des Objektes keinerlei Einzelheiten zu erkennen sind. Da ich Ihre Meinung kenne, habe ich das Bild nochmals ohne Fenster hochgeladen. Es wird so auch ersichtlich, das das rechtlich geschützte Objekt entfernt werden kann, ohne dass das Ziel des Bildes - neugotischer Innenraum der Kirche - verfälscht wird. --Dguendel 15:13, 23 December 2022 (UTC)

- Comment Search results suggest that this platform is noteworthy but also has horrible customer ratings. There is a w:Leaf Group article, which starts with "Leaf Group, formerly Demand Media Inc, is an American content company[2] that operates online brands including eHow, livestrong.com, and marketplace brands Saatchi Art and Society6.[3][4]" Based on that, I would want Commons to have a copy of this logo, if their copyright notice allows it, but I don't think it addresses use of their logo. It’s a 2014 photograph, as clearly shown in the file description and the EXIF data (which indicates it was created using a camera, not a scanner), which presumably depicts a 1915 photograph. I instinctively assumed that a photograph of another photograph would be violating the original copyright, but I guess not. - @DoubleGrazing My comment presented some useful information, but did so in a slightly mocking manner (your deletion request was poorly worded), and you seem to have taken it the wrong way. So, to clarify:
- I agree that the 1915 photograph is not the uploader’s own work, and it is incorrect for the file description to say ‘own work’.
- In general, a photograph of another photograph does indeed violate the original copyright (assuming that the original is copyrighted); see COM:DW.
- Regarding photographing something vs scanning something, you would think there is no difference, but apparently there is; see {{PD-art}}.
- Also note that if the 1915 photograph is PD, then the 2014 photograph may also be PD; again, see {{PD-art}}. Brianjd (talk) 10:13, 19 December 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks @Brianjd. I follow exactly what you're saying. I now get that the original is in PD, and with that, my whole case collapses; thanks for pointing that out. And I'm also now aware of the camera vs. scanner issue, which is interesting to note. Every day is a school day.

My advice is, please go ahead, making sure you have the permission of the photographer if it's not a selfie or that you can show COM:VRT that you own the copyright. This photo is in use on two Wikipedias and Wikidata. As long as it is in use, it will not be deleted.
