Hello, I would like to get the autopatrol right, I have uploaded a lot of pics (own work) and I am preparing a new battery of pics to upload. I have to admit that I made one mistake by uploading a pictures from a monitor (I am aware of the policies in terms of licensing, but uploaded the wrong picture(, hopefully that stain will not ruin my reputation :-). I would also appreciate getting the patoller flag but cannot provide any evindence of being active in that maintenance area in this project, but it is something I've been doing for years in es.wiki, where I have the sysop flag. If I get that flag I would also help patroling new content here, thank you and best regards Poco a poco (talk) 19:31, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ten en cuenta que el el flag de autopatrolled sólo sirve en tanto crees galerías, las imágenes no pueden marcarse como revisadas. — Dferg (talk) 19:37, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If you want, I'm willing to give you the "patroller" flag (to do new page patrol), since you're an es.wiki admin. But like Dferg said, the autopatrol right works with galleries, not images. Killiondude (talk) 19:44, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I do not object :) it was just a note for his information. He's entrusted with the 'crat flags at es and did good contributions so far here so I see no problem either. — Dferg (talk) 19:46, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I knew that only galleries can be patrolled (I read it in the request above), still, I would like to get a chance and try out, I like patrolling new stuff and changes, and have plenty of experience, best regards, --Poco a poco (talk) 21:07, 11 January 2010 (UTC) PD: I don't think I need the autopatrolled flag then.[reply]
Done. I've given you patroller rights. If any admin disagree with this, please revert me.
Yes, they only work on new pages (not images). The only difference between patroller and autopatrolled is that patroller makes you able to mark as review pages from others via the "Mark as patrolled" link. Autopatrollers only have their own edits marked as patrolled. Best regards.

I came back to request this right. I've been looking at Special:NewPages these past couple of days, and I see users flooding the New Pages log that should be patrolled and they clutter up the log (as I can't hide patrolled pages without the patrol right). I have also made some deletion requests for pages that shouldn't be allowed in the gallery mainspace. Thanks. Techman224Talk 17:29, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have been on Commons for a while and would like to help reduce the backlog by having my page creations marked as autopatrolled. Thank you. Hekerui (talk) 08:58, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Neutral There is no backlog of edits from registered users, as we do not systematically patrol those (they can be patrolled and it's sometimes needed to indicate this) but not a backlog in any way. Only edits from anonymous users, new users; and page creations from all users, are systematically patrolled. Autopatrol is therefore, in my opinion, handy for those trusted users that create lots of pages. Or for trusted anonymous users that edit a lot. -- --Krinkletalk 09:01, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I edit a fair amount (am also a "trusted user" so I review flickr licenses) but I'm not an über-user with hundred of uploads per week. COM:Autopatrolled is kind of unclear on the issue of backlog if what you say it true, perhaps that can be rectified? Hekerui (talk) 09:14, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've updated it a bit, I hope this helps. Thanks for addressing it here. --Krinkletalk 12:22, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agree with Docu on this one. We tend to be more sparing with bot flags here, many bots run without them precisely so that they WILL clutter up the logs and have their work looked at, or so it is hoped. Take a look at some of the archived bot requests, "approved, no bot flag" is a fairly common outcome. ++Lar: t/c 10:52, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Granted Telim, Paebi and Friedrichstrasse. I'm not sure if the rest should be given autopatrol at the time (esp. the bot). Kanonkas // talk // e-mail // 11:54, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, even though I doubt unpatrolled edits get as much review as bots pending approval. -- User:Docu at 12:09, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Autopatrol rights - Thank you. Cholo Aleman (talk) 13:06, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

User:Nard the Bard asked me to ask for autopatrol rights here, see [1]. I am not quite sure if this is the right way. Cholo Aleman (talk) 13:06, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kanonkas already gave you autopatrol a couple weeks ago. –Juliancolton | Talk 13:10, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

So what - did not realize that. Thanks! Cholo Aleman (talk) 13:17, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I had asked for that. You might want to ask for patrol though. -- User:Docu at 13:24, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to apply for the same rights I have on german wikipedia, i.e. being "editor" I'm allowed to patroll or rollback any edit (whatever is applicable in that situation). Hopefully my number of edits here on commons shows I won't mess around with this user right. Thank you! axpdeHello! 15:23, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I request the patrol user right to reduce the backlog. I already have the right in the German Wikipedia. My Single User Login lists about 4400 edits in Wikimedia projects – more than 400 of them on Commons. Thank you. Dein Freund der Baum (talk) 22:56, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I request autopatroller status. I want to save others from having to patrol my work on Commons. My Single User Login lists over 17000 edits in Wikimedia projects and over 2000 in Commons (more when 400 uploaded image). Im a Sysop at svwiki Wikipedia and autopatrolled on nowiki. Thank you. Ankara (talk) 19:31, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I see nothing wrong with the request, but I'm not sure why you would need to be autopatrolled. Other then page creations, autoconfirmed registered users are not being 'checked' or 'patrolled', so being autopatrolled does not save the Patrolteam work, as there is no patrolteam for autoconfirmed registered users. The editpatrol (see COM:CVU) patrols anonymous users and new users.
The newpage patrol on the other hand patrols galleries created by anyone. But I see only 1 page creation here. See also Commons:Patrol and COM:Autopatrolled. Greetings, –Krinkletalk 19:53, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The background to this request is User_talk:Ankara#Speedy versus Bad Name on Categori:Lindgården. I may have misunderstood him. Best regards--Ankara (talk) 20:04, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps I misunderstand. I know I'm now confused. I see the red exclamation point on every edit made by all users who are not autopatrol status or higher including, for example, Ankara. Thus, for example, Ankara's first edit here was patrolled by you, Krinkle, at 23:01 UTC. His second edit here is unpatrolled at the moment. My reading of "How does edit patrol work?" is that we would like to patrol all edits that are not autopatrolled and I've been doing that for my watchlist, except for a few users that I know. In conjunction with that, I've directly asked for autopatrol status for several Users and suggested it to several others, including Ankara. If this is not the intention of "How does edit patrol work?", then tell what me policy is, and I will conform to it and, perhaps, rewrite "How does edit patrol work?". . . . . Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talkcontribs) 23:40, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I can understand the confusion, the "How does edit patrol work?" section isn't very complete but not entirely wrong either. It explains how the principle works. It doesn't say that every edit made by anyone should be patrolled. What does confuse is this edit by Killiondude. For that reason I have reverted his edit. Patrolling is a system to see if an edit has been checked by a third party. As on the page described this is to systematically patrol edits by anonymous users ([2]) and new users* and to patrol NewPages([3]) by all users.
* "new" as in wiki-label "newbie"
Krinkletalk 17:56, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. That's more or less what I've been doing -- patrolling edits on my watchlist from IP users or users I don't recognize, ignoring the rest, and also patrolling on new pages and new files as time (and patience) permits.. . . . . Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talkcontribs) 21:32, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done - Autopatrol right granted. The COM:Autopatrolled page was misleading, I hope it's cleared now. Though being Autopatrolled only reduces an actual backlog if you are active in creating pages. It always reduces clutter in people's watchlists and do save time checking, since I think (though everyone uses their Watchlist their own way) users would less likely check an edit in the Watchlist if it's been patrolled already (whether manually or autpatrolled). –Krinkletalk 09:46, 26 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Good afternon. I would like to get patroller rights on commons, I think that will be able to fight vandalism better. Also, if it won't be too difficult, I would like to get confirmation (or not:)) of my rollbacker rights - I have global rollback right, but as commons is quite large wiki I would like to have cinfirmation.--Gaeser (talk) 20:04, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm here to request some mops: first, the FileMover mop, e.g. to correct misspellings, like File:Tonsellectomy09.JPG and filenames that aren't descriptive. I've moved stuff on wikipedia. I contribute and I'm knowledgable about copyright (I created Template:PD-CAGov and created/revived similar templates and improved commonly referenced user documentation for media uploaders.) I'm an admin at [4]. I'd also like to request Image-reviewer, and/or Rollbacker, which I have (and use for vandalism :-) ) on en.wikipedia.org, and Patroller mops. Thank you. Elvey (talk) 20:00, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Considering the low number of contributions, I think it would be better for you to use {{Rename}}. Patrol and rollback rights would be OK IMHO. --Leyo 20:12, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm OK with that, thanks. Would an admin do the granting then? And move that file I mentioned? (I don't see any reason why I'd need to jump through the precise hoops WRT using {{tl:rename}} and the right section.) --Elvey (talk) 23:08, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
