- @SiCebuTransmissionCorrecter if this is your image, why didn't you choose to upload the image from your device (like from your file manager/drive) instead of obtaining thru Google Maps? If your image from your phone is still there, I suggest you upload it (perhaps new fipe because this is of PNG format, if your image was originally JPEG). Again, it is highly-discouraged to upload images from Google, Google Maps, social media sites, et cetera, even if the image is yours. If you have already deleted it, then you must confirm your authorship identity using email (read COM:VRTS). It is more complicated to upload images obtained externally, because identity confirmation is still needed. Nothing I find there says anything about the images being in the public domain.
Uploaded by User:Tomás de H y B-P, whose only Commons contributions were these files, on all of which he made similar claims; seems occasionally to edit other wikis, so you might get hold of him. It's not like we have a template specific to Bernadotte Library: I could write {{PD-author|Leonardo da Vinci}} but it doesn't make it so. So it looks like a very occasional Commons user claimed a license that wasn't there.
File:Prins Carl.jpg is dated 1892. If that is true, then it is almost certainly legitimately public domain on a different basis. Similarly, File:Prinsesse Märtha.jpg (1928) is possibly so, if someone can work out the actual author.
It seems unlikely that the Bernadotte Library even owns any relevant copyrights, so there would be little point approaching them for permission.
All of these are heavily used, so someone may want to give some thought to what would be the most appropriate replacement for each.

- Graffiti is not public-domain, and if it contains non-trivial protected content is often deleted. We know Furie actively protects Pepe, so we should default to delete here as all of these are DW unless one can make a specific DM case. I think the Gate is not DM but is instead an overt DW that appears to use Pepe as part of the logo of the business, and that blotting it out (leaving a mostly blank gate) substantively changes the character of the image. - Keep COM:TOYS is not a policy that 'any pictures of toys must be deleted'. Instead it's a recognition that toys, like most things, may incorporate a creative input that is protectable by copyright. However it isn't a given that there will be any creative input in the design of the toy that is thus protectable.
- In this case, the toys are Pepes. The original creativity still resides with the cartoon, not the toy. I see no new creative effort beyond that. So we're back to a situation closer to COM:COSPLAY. Andy Dingley (talk) 17:03, 22 April 2024 (UTC)

- Keep. The only creative element that surpasses COM:TOO US is the image in the center of the seal. That is the Great Seal of the State of Arizona. It was designed in 1911 by E.E. Motter. - The copyright page states "Reproduction is authorised, provided that the Council of the EU is always acknowledged as the original source of the material, unless otherwise stated and that the original meaning or message of the content is not distorted." I took that to mean I could use images from the Council website since it is a fantastic source of high-quality, up-to-date images of European politicians, and uploaded them, always acknowledging the Council as the original source and linking to the original page. So I apologize if I indeed violated a copyright, but as I understood it, I don't see how the images cannot be used on Wikimedia projects. Procrastineur49 (talk) 11:33, 25 December 2023 (UTC)
- I concur with User:Procratineur's views that this is a valuable source for images of European politicians, and that in my view the licence allows derivative works (provided "that the original meaning or message of the content is not distorted" - which I interpret as a caveat to respect certain personality rights - which is the case for many, if not most pictures of living people on Commons anyway). There are no Freedom of Panorama exemptions in France, which means that they cannot be photographed freely for anything other than personal purposes. Per COM:FOP France there is no freedom of panorama for Eiffel tower night pictures. In my opinion the photo was correctly deleted and incorrectly (without discussion) undeleted. This is not a simple lighting. Taivo (talk) 21:08, 25 December 2023 (UTC)
- Keep per Commons:Deletion requests/Eiffel Tower at night. Apparently only the particular light show in 1989 was copyrighted and normal lighting was not.

- Comment: There may be a copyright when a special lighting is original and creative. But placing lights on a building, technically interesting as it may be, does not turn it into a copyrighted work. The lighting in this image does not seem extraordinary. There's nothing special about the Eiffel tower. It is a little exagerated to say that the undeletion was without discussion. The undeletion section for this file, Commons:Undeletion requests/Archive/2011-11#File:Tour Eiffel top.jpg, followed in succession to the others that preceded it, e.g. Commons:Undeletion requests/Archive/2011-11#File:Paris 2010Feb 218.jpg and Commons:Undeletion requests/Archive/2011-11#out-of-process deletions. - @Holly Cheng Hello, please see: [8] - This is another photograph of the same fresco. The photographer identifies as it being from the mid-19th century. The original source ([9]) [click on the photos and scroll to the one being discussed) states it is from a "Nirmala Akhara", which were centres of learning used by the Nirmala sect of Sikhism. Frescoes in this style, technique, and manner are a long-extinct art in Punjab, with most surviving specimens dating to the 19th century (reference: 'Vanished and Vanishing Wall Paintings of Punjab and Haryana' by Kanwarjit Singh). Peter Mathieson (Q15051198) appears to have spent the majority of his working life in the UK and only 4 years in Hong Kong. - @IronGargoyle: Do we have examples of what is considered "extremely simple" in this context? The sentence you quoted is open to significant variations in interpretation. I'd read that myself before my !vote and counted at least 6 separate lines in the signature (more than "a line or two"). - In Italy it is definitely public domain. It has been published (made "public") on the italian weekly magazine "Amica" in December 1990 to illustrate an interview by me to the famous stylist. No photographer cited. And I have scanned and posted it here. So I do not know. Anyway I see that it is used only in Italy and Romania. Is it possible to restrict its use to "only outside USA"? Otherwise, I repeat, I do not know. Act according to the law. Thanks

- The photo simply being in the magazine does not make it in the public domain. Unless there is corroboration that its author (photographer, or whoever owns its copyright) has made it in the PD, it is only that per the Italian 20-years-after-creation law, which does not apply in the US to photos created after 1975 per the above.
