This file was initially tagged by Riggwelter as Copyvio (copyvio) and the most recent rationale was: According to VRT ticket 2023080110010171, the uploader claims ownership of the full copyright to this photo. This is not true; the uploader has only bought the right to use the photo, but not to release it under a free license. The photographer has not notified VRT of her intention to release it under any free license. This is therefor copyright infringment, and the photo must be deleted. As per agreement between the photographer and the artist the artist has all the rights to the image you are referring to.

 Keep – I think this is objectively speaking a good image. That it's not in focus is an intentional effect, skillfully used by the creator of this image. I could also easily see this image used in the context of f.ex articles on mental health. In fact, I even added it to the Norwegian wikipedia article on Social alienation. Most likely previously published on Viber social media as file names bear "Viber" name. Proof of identity verification of the true copyright holder (the photographer) via email correspondence is required for images previously published on social media so to confirm if the uploader is indeed the photographer (the copyright holder) of these images and that the photographer (the copyright owner) has applied the license as indicated, as there have been numerous cases on Wiki before (and up to now) that the uploaders just grabbed images from social media sites. For email template, see COM:VRTS#Email message template for release of rights to a file. Better still, have the originals overwrite these Viber-derived images, if the images are truly self-photographed works of the uploader.

  • The problem is the archive system used by the State Archive in Austria. I can call up the images through a dynamic search but I don't get a permalink. I can find a few in the series with another search and added one more image where I can see the permalink. The spelling of the name of the bridge is the problem. The archive lists no restrictions, other have to decide if they get PD-EU for being in an Australian archive or PD-Ukraine for depicting a bridge in Ukraine, probably both is best. It looks like a photographer knew the allies were going to bomb it, and took a series of photos before, during, and after the destruction, brave fellow. OK, I found all the permalinks. Official emblem of the 53rd Fighter Squadron of the Romanian Air Force during WW2 (falls under "official symbols of the State, public authorities and organizations, such as armorial bearings, seals, flags, emblems, shields, badges and medals" from Romanian Law no. 8/1996 of March 14, 1996). It featured heavily on their aircraft, two examples being this video or this photo. Files in Category:Max Planck Medal

This medal named after German physicist Max Planck was first awarded in 1929, so it was probably created around that time. The photos are by the uploader, but the medal itself might still be protected in Germany (if the medalist died after 1952) and in the US (1929 work, restored by the URAA).

So the files should be deleted. If we can find out the medalist's name and year of death, the files can be restored 70 years pma (but not before 2025 because of the URAA). If we can't find the name, the files can be restored in 2050 with {{PD-old-assumed-expired}}. Note: Pre-mid 1995 German works of the bildende Künste, like this one, cannot be anonymous or pseudonymous works because the old German copyright law, still relevant in these cases, said so. See Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Germany#Anonymous and pseudonymous works.

Practically it could be preserved only as a symbol imagined by the author. My opinion is that, however, it can cause confusion by suggesting that it would be a valid symbol, which it is not. I can't confirm that this image is copied from somewhere but something doesn't feel right with this picture:

  • It looks like a professional picture but is rather grainy.
  • The creation date matches the upload date.
  • The user did nothing else than upload the picture and add it to the en and ru Wikipedia articles.

The two others, currently, is one placed in Sweden where their FOP should cover it since the statue seems to be "permanently placed on or at a public place outdoors", the other is just a shadow on a wall. Copyright violation? Apparently there is permission from the photographer. But I do not see permission from the heirs of Jacqueline de la Baume Dürrbach (1920-1989, see mutualart.com), the creator of the tapistry, and Pablo Picasso (died 1973), the maker of the painting which was the inspiration for this tapestry. The date can be seen on the higher resolution version of the same newspaper (here). As we have seen, the date for the newspaper is "PAZARTESİ 15 KANUNUEVVEL 1930" (right upper corner) means "MONDAY DECEMBER 15 1930". According to the Turkish Law on Intellectual and Artistic Works No.5846 article 27 the protection period ends after 70 years. Consequently the stated image has no copyright, kind regards. Questionable own work claims. One has visible watermark (motahari.ac.ir) and one is a copyrighted logo. Only one upload by this user is known to be not a copyvio File:سید حسن مدرس.jpg, which is a historical picture in public domain wrongly claimed to be own work.

For some of these images, would they not fall under the {{PD-Iran}} license under article 16? If we can upload the original sourced picture then use that license. @Ali313korosh I think in order to prove that article 16 of the Iranian copyright law is applicable to these images, we should have evidence on their date of publication (not the date of creation).
