Hello, my name is Anil Öztas and I'm glad you found your way here.
My interest in Wikimedia Commons started about 15 ears ago when I started sharing my photos on the internet and looking for ways to make them available to others. I came across Wikimedia Commons and was fascinated by the idea of having a platform where people from all over the world could share their work to make it freely available to others. It was a turning point in my photographic journey when I realised the possibilities of putting my photographic work into a wider context and contributing to the general educational and cultural resource.

Wikimedia Commons gives me the opportunity to share my passion for photography with a wide audience while allowing others to use my photos for their own projects and purposes. It is an amazing experience to see how they are used in different contexts and projects, be it in scientific articles, school materials, newspaper articles or other offerings. As a rule, I make my photos available here under a free licence that requires attribution. This means that they can be used on the condition that I am named as the author (Photo: Anil Öztas). I take the liberty of saying that this should go without saying.
If you use my photos in a project that is not part of Wikimedia, please send me an email to anil.oeztas@wikipedia.de stating the URL for online media or the ISBN or author and title for print publications or eBooks. I am always very interested to see how my photos are used and I am also happy to receive a copy of the publication as a thank you for the release.
