This is unashamed pornography. Undoubtedly the previous requests are overlooked due to lack of detail and argumentation, despite how frankly obvious. This clip serves no educational purpose beyond the article. The videos length is unnecessary as the act is made clear after a few seconds. It is obvious these videos are shared for pleasure and not education. I do not see how any argumentation could be provided for the need of a video of this length and nature to be absolutely necessary to provide education. It is the responsibility of the contents producer to sensitively distribute such material within consenting circles and not the educational tool Wikipedia. There is plenty of pornography elsewhere. It is needless and irresponsible to propagate this material for one’s own pleasure. Children knowingly and unknowingly use this site as it is largely educational. -- Robert Weemeyer (talk) 07:47, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
Deleted: per nomination. Ernst Jünger and Lorli Jünger are both in their 80s, but still alive; the files can be restored 70 years pma of their deaths, with the following exceptions.
Per [1], the Elser photo is a passport photo from 1938; they also say he never was in Düsseldorf, so a Düsseldorf Gestapo officer could not have photographed him there. Since the photo is dated 1938, we can restore that stamp in 2059 with {{PD-old-assumed}}. Josef Albers was a US citizen (since 1939) and worked in the US, so we should apply US copyright here. Homage to the Square is a whole series of works, and this particular one seems to be from 1966, see [2]. With US copyright, there's always the possibility that something is in the public domain because there was no notice etc., but I'd assume works of a high profile artist like Albers are not in the PD, so the two files showing his art can be restored in 2062 (95 + 1 years from 1966). --Rosenzweig τ 14:38, 3 October 2023 (UTC)

- According to the laws of the former Yugoslavia, state signs (including postage signs) are exempt from copyright. The same applies to the legislation of Serbia and Montenegro. Andrey Korzun (talk) 10:04, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
- Where do the laws of the former Yugoslavia say that state signs are exempt from copyright or even that stamps are including in that? If you look at Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Yugoslavia it says nothing about stamps. Let alone does it say that they or state signs are PD. Even Template:PD-YugoslaviaGov just says "certain official state documents such as law texts" and stamps aren't law text. That's not even to say anything about Serbia and Montenegro, which have essentially the same rules as Yugoslavia. So what exactly are you basing your comment on? --Adamant1 (talk) 12:18, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
- It seems difficult to find the original of the Yugoslav Copyright Law (1978). But we have a Serbian copyright law (1998), which largely replicated the law of the former Yugoslavia. It contains Article 6, paragraph 2. “The following shall not be considered works of authorship: 1) Laws, decrees and other regulations; 2) Official materials of government agencies and agencies discharging public functions.” Postage stamps are official materials of the state postal department. Link to the law https://www.wipo.int/wipolex/en/text/498378 Andrey Korzun (talk) 10:15, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
- Most people and countries don't usually consider postage stamps to be de facto PD under any kind of clause saying "official materials" the state are. In this case if "official materials" just meant "everything created by the state" as your trying to treat it then there'd be zero reason for the first point of the regulation saying laws, decrees, and other regulations are public domain. Since all of those are obviously "Official materials of government agencies and agencies discharging public functions." So there's clearly still things created the government that aren't PD regardless and I assume one of those thing are postage stamps. Since again, most countries that have similar clauses don't include postage stamps in them and there's zero evidence that Yugoslavia did. Or for that matter even Serbian to begin with, but even if stamps of Serbia are de facto PD based on that rational it doesn't automatically conclude that the same would go for Yugoslavia and personally I don't think it does for the reasons I've given. Mainly that there's no reason the law would specifically state laws, decrees, and other regulations are PD and then go on to say "Official materials" also are if "Official materials" meant everything created by the state regardless. For instance I assume buildings, statues, bridges, and the like aren't covered in that. Really, there's no reason stamps would be for reasons I have zero urge to get into. Suffice to say, it's way more likely they aren't PD then the opposite. --Adamant1 (talk) 14:41, 18 October 2023 (UTC)

- I added the last couple of images after I created the initial deletion request because I did using the Visual File Change tool and they were in a different directory. I don't think that makes them or the nomination in general "invalid." In fact I've done it that way plenty of times in the past and no one ever had a problem with it. Although I guess the deletion request template could be added to the files, but that's a separate issue and has nothing to do with the DR in general. But I have nominated images for deletion before even if they didn't contain the template and the images were still deleted. So really, it just seems like a super pedantic procedural non-issue. --Adamant1 (talk) 09:31, 27 September 2023 (UTC)

In this particular case, I've looked at it, and all 4 uploaders received, on the very same day, notifications that there were deletion requests for stamp files they had uploaded, bot none did respond. So my conclusion is they all were notified enough. --Rosenzweig τ 15:50, 3 October 2023 (UTC)

Professional quality, posed photograph, user's only upload, no EXIF. I can't find the original earlier version on the Web, but I think it's highly likely to be a copyright violation per Commons:Precautionary principle. If I'm wrong and User:Jscu is actually a professional photographer and donating just this one image to us, I'd be only too happy if they were to write Commons:Volunteer Response Team and explain as much. But my suspicious nature says otherwise. GRuban (talk) 15:18, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

Found on IMDB. Possibly might be free as {{PD-US-no notice}} as many publicity photos were, but we would need evidence. It's certainly not "own work" as claimed. —holly {chat} 17:06, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

Highly unlikely to be "own work" as claimed. Appears to be a publicity photograph, so it may be {{PD-US-no notice}} like so many others, but we would need better provenance to make that determination. —holly {chat} 17:18, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

We have a permission for the translation, but the original work is still under a copyright in France (until 2044) and in USA (until 2038). Yann (talk) 17:30, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
- I ignored the copyright in USA longer than 70 years after death of the writer. --Lucyin (talk) 11:23, 27 September 2023 (UTC)
- @Lucyin: The US copyright is counted from the date of publication, not from the author's death. Yann (talk) 11:37, 27 September 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for explanation, but the book "was first published in English and French in the United States by Reynal & Hitchcock in April 1943". So it is 70 years old, isn't it ? Or has that work a 95-years-old copyright (even without the drawings) ?
- Other idea: The book is out of copyright in any country but France or USA. The German publisher Titenfass has published a lot of translations of it (the work is said to have been translated in 400 languages and dialects). If Wikipedia would have a server outside USA (and France), it can be stored there legally.
- I see in English Wiki that the cover of the book seems to be hosted in another country than USA (Great-Britain ?). If the Walloon Wikipedia is hosted in Belgium, might the file be transferred over there ?

-- Asclepias (talk) 20:45, 29 September 2023 (UTC)

- The life span of René André Duparcq is 1897–1966, see here. The statue was erected in 1950, see here. Francis I of France founded Le Havre and its port in 1517, hence the significance of the statue. This artwork will be in the public domain according to French law in 2037 (70 years after the death) and {{PD-US-expired}} can be assumed to apply in 2046 (95 years after the erection of the statue). --AFBorchert (talk) 07:53, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

- Delete The image could be a good one for illustrating how a fisheye lens distorts a space when used in photography, but the large © watermark on the image is in conflict with the uploader's release of the image under {{CC-by-sa-4.0}}. If it's reuploaded without the watermark, it would be acceptable. —Tcr25 (talk) 16:28, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

Delete. Not "own" work. The image is almost certainly dowloaded from internet. See this for example, although that doesn't seem to be the original source, as the "missing" caption suggests. But on the other hand it couldn't have been taken from Commons, because the article is dated "Sept. 13, 2023", 13 days earlier than this file was uploded here. ǁ ǁǁǁ Chalk19 (talk) 11:21, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

Requesting deletion of this gallery as it is 6 years out of date and not particularly useful. I am the only contributor to this gallery, and I am not interested in updating or maintaining it. I think for something as long-running and multi-faceted as a professional sports team, visitors would be better off browsing a well-organized category than seeing a limited gallery. IagoQnsi (talk) 01:50, 9 July 2023 (UTC)
- Comment It's not important to maintain a gallery as long as there is an equivalent category for these images. So no objection to deleting the gallery, as long as neither the category nor any images are deleted at the same time. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:58, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

Based on the uploader's edits on Wikipedia, the uploader is the subject of these photos. Since he is not the photographer, the licensing and the claims of own work are not appropriate. Instead, permission from the photographers/copyright holders of each of these photos is needed in order for them to be hosted on Commons.

it is a mirrored version of what it's supposed to show - that's easy to spot when you look at the last word written in elder futhark: it's supposed to say faihido but the runes are mirrored and even when you ignore the fact that some of them aren't the same when mirrored it would say odihiaf. I.e. nothing is really bad about this picture but it is wrong to portray the mirrored version as correct 2001:16B8:3110:5B00:FDF4:5783:5B32:AB3E 12:55, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
- Keep Early runic inscriptions were sometimes written from right to left with mirrored glyphs. Looking at this image of an interpretive plaque at the Einang stone site, the runes are shown as being written in the direction and form that is seen in this picture. The way the translation is given in the image description here makes it seem the image is mirrored, but it isn't. —Tcr25 (talk) 17:12, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

- Keep, because this may be a photo of the painting before restoration, the yellow tint may be caused by an old varnish that has since been removed. This effect is shown in w:en:Conservation and restoration of cultural property#Example of the restoration of an oil painting. If this photo is of the painting before restoration then it is useful. This file, taken from a 2014 Italian web site and said to show en:Stamata Revithi, is claimed to be from ca. 1896, but without any evidence to support this, it's just assumed because Revithi supposedly ran a marathon in that year.
The drawing could easily have been created much later than 1896. The web site does not give any source, date or author for the image, there is no caption at all, not even one saying that the image shows Revithi.
So there is not enough information to determine the copyright status of this image, and the file should be deleted per the precautionary principle unless convincingly shown to be actually under a free license, be in the public domain in both its source country and the US or actually be old enough for {{PD-old-assumed}}. - I can make an English language version and will name it File:Assam Goalpara locator map-en.svg Done. Just use {{Withdraw}} to withdraw your nomination, then, once this DR is cleared, use {{Rename}} on the file. The best rationale is likely 4 ("to harmonize names"). Seeing that there are a lot of Assamese versions of these files (e.g., File:Assam Goalpara locator map Assamese.svg among others); I'm asking to have the English version renamed File:Assam Goalpara locator map English.svg. This one should be renamed File:Assam Goalpara locator map French.svg to keep things harmonized. —Tcr25 (talk) 12:20, 27 September 2023 (UTC)

Publicity still bears logo of the record label 4AD, which is based in the United Kingdom and thus invalid as public domain Diplomat's Son (talk) 09:15, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
- Keep Based on current evidence, the logo is very much de minimis, it is small enough in the original. The tiny logo is not the subject of the photo, its the artists. The photograph itself (which has been cropped) has no copyright markings on it which would make it PD in the US (if it follows {{PD-US-1978-89}} template accordingly as uploader has claimed).

- Delete Revisiting this DR - My previous comment was rushed. Anyway, I did some research on this photo, there is no evidence it was ever published as a publicity photo in a U.S. issued press kit. - Zweitens behauptet der Uploader, das sei sein eigenes Werk. Definitiv nicht korrekt. Der St. Galler Likotorenbündel ist aus File:Coat of Arms of Canton of Sant Gallen.svg entnommen worden.
- Drittens hätte der Uploader, will er seiner Botschaft gerecht werden, das Wappen von Mussolini (File:Flag of Mussolini as Capo del governo of Fascist Italy.svg), das ganz anders aussieht, nehmen sollen, nicht das vom Kanton Gallen. - Die image on the website of schwarzwaelder-bote.de ist obviously smaller then the upload in Commons. The photographer ist mentioned as Dirk Hetzer that is corresponding to User:Dhetzer which made it plausible that this is the photographer itself. Alabasterstein (talk) 11:55, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

Magazine brochure is of Dutch origins (and thus to recent for copyright to have expired), Not a work of US Gov. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 17:16, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
- Delete, on page 4 of the PDF it says "Published by: The Netherlands Flower-bulb Institute - The Associated Bulb Growers of Holland / Hillegom The Netherlands". Moreover, the metadata and page 3 indicate "The Wyatt-Quarles Seed Company", which is unlikely to be branch of the US federal government. Verbcatcher (talk)
And I will note here that the ENTIRE contents of Category:FEDLINK - Henry G. Gilbert Nursery and Seed Trade Catalog Collection and Category:Henry G. Gilbert Nursery and Seed Trade Catalog Collection should be checked for copyright status. NONE of the seed catalogs is a work of US Gov, and the wrong license seems to have been applied as part of a mass upload. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 09:08, 27 September 2023 (UTC)
- Keep. While it was printed in the Netherlands, it was clearly distributed (and therefore legally published) in the United States. I do agree, however, that
PD-USGov
is inappropriate;PD-US-no notice
is the correct licence. TE(æ)A,ea. (talk) 03:47, 29 September 2023 (UTC)
- But on page 4 it says that it was published in the Netherlands. My interpretation is that pages with coloured illustrations originated from an organization that promoted Dutch exports, and that an American retailer inserted their price list in them. This edition was clearly intended for the US and Canada, but the Dutch organization would most likely have produced versions for their other export markets. The photographs would probably have been reused in each of these versions. Verbcatcher (talk) 05:20, 29 September 2023 (UTC)
- Verbcatcher: The photographs were clearly used here, and this work is a U.S. work (and in the public domain there). I don’t even think that such separate publication would matter. In any case, “would most likely” and “would probably” are not evidence. TE(æ)A,ea. (talk) 22:54, 7 October 2023 (UTC)
- Its is not clear to me that this is a US work. Separate publication of the photographs would be significant if they predated this publication, the place of first publication normally indicates the home country of a work. Verbcatcher (talk) 23:41, 7 October 2023 (UTC)

- Note that Commons:Licensing includes "Wikimedia Commons only accepts media / that are explicitly freely licensed, or / that are in the public domain in at least the United States and in the source country of the work." Verbcatcher (talk) 23:45, 7 October 2023 (UTC)
- Verbcatcher: I agree as to prior publication. However, the only thing I can see is this publication, and absent any evidence (in any form) to the contrary, you only offer abject speculation as to the existence of prior publication, and more is needed to engage in your point. I don’t mean to be dismissive, I just don’t think that a hypothetical prior publication is enough. TE(æ)A,ea. (talk) 00:17, 8 October 2023 (UTC)
- It is informed speculation. I live in the UK, and I have often seen this sort of Dutch-originated brochure incorporated in promotional material. Verbcatcher (talk) 00:34, 8 October 2023 (UTC)

- @Ikan Kekek Delhi Cantonment Board is a department of Ministry of Defence of Government of India. Normally copyrighted works by GoI are in GODL-India and works with copyright expired are in PD-India. You are asking me to put it under PD-textlogo. Do we know whether the things mentioned on that website are actually in PD. Or we should just singularly go with COM:TOO India. The website states Copyrighted and all rights reserved. Audio is believed to be copyrighted in its source country, Finland, based on the year of death of its author, John Grandell. The author died in 1960, so the audio has copyright protection in Finland until 2031. See COM:FINLAND. This was originally an MP3 and then converted to OGG.
Copyright in a musical work with lyrics, when the lyrics and music have been specifically created for the work, subsists until 70 years have elapsed from the death of the last surviving lyricist or composer, whether or not they have been appointed as the authors of the musical work with lyrics.[404/1961–2015 Sec.43(2)] Eyesnore (talk) 19:15, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

Out of scope - picture of text The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 09:42, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
- Is there a picture of the corresponding artwork somewhere? The very least we could do is add that text to the image description. (I also photograph such labels, but I don't upload them, just transcribe the plaques into the uploads desc's.)

- As imagens estão presentes no perfil de Soccer Digital no Flickr e estão marcadas como domínio público. O perfil disponibiliza várias imagens sobre jogadores e todas com a mesma marcação de domínio público. Qual seria a objeção? MajorPrince (talk) 23:46, 27 September 2023 (UTC)
- @MajorPrince The issue is that they are not the work of Soccer Digital. The photographs belong to Getty Images and the public domain tag isn’t that meaningful. It’s fine if Soccer Digital releases their photos to the public domain. But they cannot re-license works of other organizations. Adeletron 3030 (talk) 01:34, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
- I understand. But are they really the same day (or the same photographer)? Because this Digital Soccer image shows an earring in Rodrygo's ear that is slightly different from the earring Rodrygo wears in the Getty Images photos (the Digital Soccer one is a small earring). The hair color appears more blonde in the Getty photos, as well as the messy hair. It may be a subtle difference, but there really is something MajorPrince (talk) 03:27, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
- @MajorPrince You're right about the subtle but noticeable differences between the Soccer Digital photos and the Getty Images photos. I'm still not sure, but now I have more doubts and I'm fine keeping these images unless there's stronger evidence. Adeletron 3030 (talk) 15:24, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
