[edit]There's no freedom of panorama in Ukraine, or more precisely it doesn't allow for commercial use, and this monument wasn't created more then 70 years ago. Nor has the artist of it been dead for that long. So the images of it should be deleted as COPYVIO.

- There's still the base that the plane is on and what evidence do you have that it's original anyway? If you look at images like File:Меморіальний комплекс. 02.JPG it's clearly painted and there doesn't even seem to be any windows or escape hatch in the front. Thanks for the notice. I went and called 2 offices on the matter. I consider that the USA laws and Commons are the same, and Philippine copyright laws were borrowed from USA. Hence, I needed some enlightenment on the legal ramifications on copyright law. Specifically, the issue here is whether or not these uploaded images violated copyright or any other laws? Let me share my legal opinion and thoughts on the matter. First, the CBCP allows reproduction of any and all religious images. Second, for me, original images are those like mine which are from my cameras SONY 2008 and NIKON AW100 inter alia, where the size is very big that is 4,600 x 3,400 or 6 Mb+. A photographer would not in his right sense give to the internet for public use or consumption, like Facebook, etc. big or his or her original images. I conclude therefore that the religious images I got from the internet are even copied from derivative works of originals, since they are so small. In fact, the reasons I uploaded them here in Commons are: a) I love the sun images, and I desire to share beautiful pics in Commons when the sun fails me in my photography, b) I test the speed of the falling internet here, and c) most of the times, I fail to meet on time the parish priest of the Church, so I get permission from the office or the parishioners to get their pics of the this church or the priest. However, they would not allow their names to be revealed for privacy. Second, I asked about 3 lawyers of a legal department of the Copyright law office, and they opined that images, like books must comply with copyright deposit rules and regulations issued due to the Law requirement. More importantly, photographs of churches of priests and parishioners in churches when uploaded or copied for religious and moral reasons, etc. are not violative of the law, especially when the size is so small. Why should I get from the internet small images when I personally spend huge sums to go to the church and landmark sites, and spent more money in uploading these images from 11 pm to 4am daily more or less? In good faith, I love them and I ponder legally, that there is no obstacle in law, when I share them in Commons, Fair use so to speak. I do have the express but verbal permission of the CBCP and the churches to use their pictures especially as I said, I failed to capture a sunny facade of the church and the parish priest was away when I shot. Let me put here some parts of the law as basis of my above submissions: [Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines[1] and [2] - Republic Act No. 8293. K: Photographs and cinematographic works made in a process similar to photography - Section 185 of the Intellectual Property Code provides for fair use of copyrighted material. The criteria for fair use is almost identical to the fair use doctrine in United States copyright law, with the exception that even unpublished works qualify as fair use under Philippine copyright law.[3]SEC. 185. Fair Use of a Copyrighted Work. – 185.1. The fair use of a copyrighted work for criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching including multiple copies for classroom use, scholarship, research, and similar purposes is not an infringement of copyright. Decompilation, which is understood here to be the reproduction of the code and translation of the forms of the computer program to achieve the inter-operability of an independently created computer program with other programs may also constitute fair use. CHAPTER IX DEPOSIT AND NOTICE SEC. 191. Registration and Deposit with National Library and the Supreme Court Library. –SEC. 192. Notice of Copyright. –xxx.)]
- IN FINE, I respectfully submit the above legal argument. And I stress that I failed to get a written legal opinion from the CBCP and our Copyright law office. I think this mater had already been exhaustively talked about or discussed by the editors in [4] Tambayan. [edit]Suspicious early uploads of Ramon FVelasquez. While his recognized tool is Nikon COOLPIX AW100 (or Sony DSC-T200 for his 2012-era uploads like File:Churchpuljf.JPG), the following nominated images have either different camera models or are missing exif metadata (and some very small resolutions). These may have come from his apprentices or other people then passed on to him. No indication of proper copyright transfer via COM:VRTS correspondence if this is true. Likely similar case to Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by Ramon FVelasquez#Files uploaded by Ramon FVelasquez (talk · contribs) 2. See the nomination proper for added details.

- Strongest possible Keep High resolution photos of cityscapes, in scope. Somewhat properly categorized, at least one image I checked is in use of two wikipedias. Almost everything I checked are strongly differing views (not 500 photos of the same thing from the same persepective or so)

- Strong keep. The images are immensely valuable, especially in the absence of representative photos for Wikipedia articles that use them. I go further to say that Judgefloro has contributed much valuable photos that are in current use in several Wikipedia articles. - @Sanglahi86@TheImaCow I would rather be selective in which of the files of Judge Florentino Floro can be retained and which ones must go. The INUSE files in Wikimedia sites should be retained. Others must go, like File:Baliuagjf9406 30.JPG, which is just a random image of unidentifiable birds because those are too distant. I do not see any utility to this particular image, with obscured view of birds (see also Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:Pigeons of the Philippines resting on overhead power lines). - I'm all in on deleting low quality images, but nominating hundreds of images by a user because there might be some one or two low quality/oos images is absurd (I checked plenty more, and still haven't found a single one, other than the birds), and appears to be based on some personal grudge instead of actual larger-scale problems with the images. ~TheImaCow (talk) 09:04, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Sanglahi86@TheImaCow I would rather be selective in which of the files of Judge Florentino Floro can be retained and which ones must go. The INUSE files in Wikimedia sites should be retained. Others must go, like File:Baliuagjf9406 30.JPG, which is just a random image of unidentifiable birds because those are too distant. I do not see any utility to this particular image, with obscured view of birds (see also Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:Pigeons of the Philippines resting on overhead power lines). Maybe it could be moved to an "Ebenhaezer (ship, 1908)" category, though its categories would change. Do we have photos of this ship uploaded? - Da es bis zur Freigabe 2024 nur wenige Monate sind, die Bilder terilweise seit Jahren ins Netz (widerrechtlich) gestellt worden und bisher offenbar keine Verletzung der Urheberrechte seitens eventueller Erben des Künstlers angezeigt worden sind, sollte man sich überlegen, ob es Sinn macht, die Bilder jetzt noch zu löschen. Wenn man es doch tuen sollte, wäre es hilfreich dafür zu sorgen, dass sie ohne Zutun der ursprünglich Hochladenden 2024 wieder veröffentlich werden. Ansonsten kann man davon ausgehen, dass das Erinnerungsvermögen dejenigen so verblasst ist, dass man diese Bilder niemals wieder bei Wikipedia sehen dürfte. Dguendel 12:10, 2 August 2023 (UTC)

- The easiest way to create such coastlines is by filling up the contour lines up to a certain point with water. So to make a "25 meters sea level rise map" you would draw the new coastlines at the 25 meter elevation of the topographic base map. Which is why I inquired about that base map or method that must have been used to establish the coastline..
- If the coastlines are merely based on your fantasy imagination instead, without any source or indication of how much gets flooded, that is reason to also include File:Map of Antarctica without Ice.png into a follow-up DR.

It is very unlikely that the uploader is the copyright holder of this image or that the image was published under a free license.
This image is one of the most known "liminal spaces" (See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liminal_space_(aesthetic) ) and it has been posted on various social media sites and image boards such as Reddit and 4chan since at least early 2020, though the image itself is likely older than that.
There have been numerous attempts to find its origins by the users of various on-line liminal space communities, however all of them failed.
As of today, August 1, 2023, the author of this image is still unknown.

- To say that images of celebrities are "out of scope" is ridiculous. A celebrity is a person who is well known for being well known. If a person is a celebrity, then an image of them is totally and completely within the scope of Commons. That being the case, evidence must be presented that these images are either of non-celebrities or are copyright violations. Please present that evidence. - Maybe, maybe not though. I at least wasn't able to find any evidence of it being used anywhere else when I looked for it with TinEye. I know the site isn't 100% reliable though. So I wouldn't be upset or surprised if the closing administrator just deletes it anyway. Really they probably should anyway, but the evidence (or really lack of it) is what it is and I don't think just because resolution sucks or that it lacks metadata definitively proves anything either way on their own. I don't think {{CopyrightByWikimedia}} applies here considering that this file never became an official logo for a Wikimedia Foundation project. This file was uploaded to Meta in 2004, then transferred here. I'm not sure which license we used back then. None of the pages at m:Category:Wikinews logo contest mention any licensing or release agreement. The upload summary doesn't mention any release under a free license. While this proposed logo may be simple enough for {{PD-ineligible}}, I think we rather clarify this situation for this (and other files in the same situation) through a discussion. There's no freedom of panorama for sculptures in Russia, or precisely it doesn't allow for commercial usage, and zero evidence the creator of this monument has been dead for more then 70 years in the meantime. So the images should be as COPYVIO per the guidelines.

- What's your evidence that it's an original tank? Because it looks like a model of ones that been recently created to mee. Also, there's clearly artistic elements to the monument besides the tank that can and probably are copyrighted. You can find this type of monument all over the former USSR. Wherever I saw one on my travels it was the real thing made of solid steel. - Rumours have it that some of those are still operational I could see them using older, still operational tanks for monuments in general. At least from the ones I've seen pictures of they are clearly original. Whereas this one doesn't look like it is. Maybe they repurposed an old wheel wheel or something though. Who knows, but if that's the case I think there'd still issues with it being an original work of art at that point. If you create a sculpture of a vehicle where a few parts are original, but that's it, and re-paint in a unique way specifically to act as a monument to something then at least IMO it qualify as a new work. - The pedestal is bigger then the tank and contains the plaque saying what the memorial is for. Get rid of that and there will just be a random tank standing in a square for no reason. This older photograph, for example, lacks the later applied artistic decoration, and this one only shows the pedestal with artificial stone structure applied (I hope that's even for you too simple to count as artistic). There's no freedom of panorama in Russia for sculptures and from what I can tell none of the ones depicted in these images were created more then 70 years after the death of their creator. So these files should be deleted as COPYVIO per the law and guidelines.

- Yes, "information signs" should be kept. Becuase it's not artworks, but works of architecture, urban planning and gardening art, which are not under copyright permissions in Russia. The guy holding the hammer in that image is clearly artist. The same goes for the monument with the ball in the middle of it in File:6-monument.jpg. Along with the other images. The aren't just non-descript lists of name on a blank piece of stone. As to what the guidelines say about it, Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Russia clearly states freedom of panorama is "not OK for artwork, including sculptures." If you disagree with that, cool. It's not my issue though and this isn't the place to argue about the guidelines. They aren't going to be ignored just because you want to act like the monuments are purely just information boards without any artistic elements to them either. - Now that you mention it I was kind of thinking that with File:CWvnJLTmIIE.jpg, but the description says "Monument to the Great Patriotic War." So it clearly isn't meant to show the train station and the monument just happened to be in the way of it. --Adamant1 (talk) 20:43, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
