La República de Filipinas es una país insular formada por un archipiélago de 7.641 islas ubicadas al sudeste de Asia. Limita al este con el mar de Filipinas, al oeste con el mar de la China Meridional, y al sur con el mar de Célebes. Al sur se encuentran las islas Molucas y las Célebes en Indonesia, al sudoeste la parte malasia de Borneo y directamente al norte está Taiwán. Las islas Filipinas están entre 116° 40' y 126° y 34' E longitud, y 4° 40' y 21° 10' N latitud.

English Philippines - Republic of the Philippines

The Republic of the Philippines is an island nation located in the Malay Archipelago in Southeast Asia, with Manila as its capital. It comprises 7,641 islands called the Philippine Archipelago, with a total land area of approximately 300,000 square kilometers or 116,000 square miles, making it the 72nd largest country by area. Modern day Filipinos are mostly of Austronesian ancestry, although there are a number of Filipinos with Spanish, Chinese, American, Indian, and Arab ancestry. It has maritime borders with the ► Taiwan, ► the People's Republic of China, the ► Paracel Islands, ► Vietnam, ► Brunei, ► Malaysia, and ► Indonesia as well as with ► Palau, ► Micronesia, ► Guam, the ► Northern Mariana Islands, the ► United States, and ► Japan. In the south, the ► Bangsamoro region has autonomy. It controls the ► Kalayaan Islands and claims Sabah.
