I am requesting the right on their behalf. Image-Improver Bonn has made over seven thousand edits since January (of this year, as of writing 😁 ), including lots of categorization, and they provided quality photographs of various places in Bonn, Germany. Them having this permission is well overdue. As their name suggests, they indeed improve a lot. Please give Image-Improver Bonn autopatrolled. @Sailko-- Thank you for this recommendation! As you've seen, my activity on Commons thus far has been entirely in categorizing others' images, and in creating new categories and subcategories where necessary-- I have yet to upload anything, or to participate in any discussion of policy. If this limited scope of interest is compatible with becoming autopatrolled, I've no objections. It would at least take a swarm of comparatively minor edits off of patrollers' watchlists. Hello, I would like to be marked autopatrolled so I can upload MP3 files. I just attempted to upload this recording from the Library of Congress, which is public domain because it was published in the United States before 1923. MP3 is the best format to allow uploading the original source without generation degradation. I may upload more PD music and some of it might also be in MP3 format. Thank you. My colleague at the University of Edinburgh Data Repository has readied in Pattypan for 3,590 images of UK Tower Blocks from the landmark Tower Block Archive to be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons. As she is leaving shortly for a new role at NHS Scotland early next month this uploading is time critical so she has asked if she can be permitted extra user rights to change her rate limit from the the normal 380 uploads per 72 minutes to a more efficient (given the number of images) ratelimit of 999 uploads per 1 second. Just wanted to enquire firstly if a temporary user rights change could be sanctioned to something like Image reviewer status or Patroller/AutoPatroller status? Happy to discuss further or vouch for my colleague or have their work reviewed to ensure QA or have my own user rights temporarily changed if that would be more in line with your thinking. These uploads would be a boon to Commons I'm sure and to the work of the Heritage Lottery Fund and the University that want these images to be made more widely and sustainably available in the longer term. Any questions please ask. An example would be the Tower Block Images for Aberdeen Thank you. Stinglehammer (talk) 16:10, 22 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello I am a data engineer and open data activist from Bulgaria. I have 400K edits on Wikidata and am autopatrol on bg.wikipedia. In the context of a Data For Good - Bulgaria project, we are currently planning on uploading several thousand photos of bulgarian politicians taken from official Bulgarian sources. File:Sergei Stanishev (41NS) is an example from the batch. The reason I am requesting these rights has to do with upload rate limits. We will be using OpenRefine and without the autopatrol status, the uploads will take forever. If possible I am also requesting the same status for Dbalinov, as we are both from the same organization and are working together on this project.

You uploaded a lot of cropped versions of files, but you did not write that information into the author field. It is required that the author of the changes is mentioned as author of the change. If you fix this and if you are doing this correctly in the future you can get the autopatrol rights. GPSLeo (talk) 07:51, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@GPSLeo Thank you for your advice, and I tried to fix that. But I couldn't find any examples of the "author of the change"; I searched several files cropped by CropTool, but there weren't such a field. :( So could you please confirm that my interpretation is correct? I tried here. --Tmv (talk) 05:19, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I just learned elsewhere that Commons has limited file overwriting to autopatrolled editors. I'm active across multiple projects and hold AP on both projects where I've made significant edits (English Wikipedia, where it's a markedly higher user right than it is on most projects, and English Wikivoyage, where it's a similar level of trust to on Commons), as well as a number of other user rights. I upload files to Commons where appropriate and occasionally need to overwrite both my own uploads and existing ones, e.g. these two recent replacements of PD book covers transferred from enwiki with higher-quality versions. Hi -- I'm contributing mostly coats of arms and flags in SVG format. This is an area where overwriting other users' files is absolutely customary and, in fact, _essential_ for improving the quality of the coverage. Please restore my ability to do so! ARK (talk) 15:14, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you are changing many SVG files. Most of the changes are very short after the upload and I presume that you talked to the original uploader about this, so this is no problem. One problematic thing I found was the change at File:CHE Bellinzona COA.svg where you loaded a new version over the old one and then uploaded the old one under a new name. In such a case you should upload the new version as a new file. If need you can then use global replace to change the old version in the projects where it is used. GPSLeo (talk) 16:37, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@GPSLeo: Thanks for the advice! Bellinzona is a town in the Italian-speaking Swiss canton of Ticino. Municipal coats of arms of the Italian- and French-speaking parts of Switzerland routinely get discussed on Wikiprojekt Wappen (WPW), the German-speaking heraldry workshop, as German is Switzerland's majority language. The changes I made to the Bellinzona arms were perfectly in line with a discussion of the Bellinzona arms that was being conducted at the time, in German, on the WPW Forum. ARK (talk) 17:27, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you discuss something in one Wiki you should only change the file for this Wiki where you discussed the topic and not for all other Wiki too. I will grant you the right but if there is a major change on a not recently uploaded file upload it under a new name and replace the usages if necessary and do not override the old file. Changes like you did on File:AM 100 dram Ag 2012 Parajanov b.png or File:AM 100 dram Ag 2005 Partev Vramshapuh a.png are not minor and need to be uploaded under a new name. GPSLeo (talk) 06:54, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
GPSLeo, if I upload similar images, catalog names' system won't be saved, and many unused poor quality copies of images will appear. Vahe (talk) 08:30, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The quality of the original files is not that bad but the change to the files are huge. There is no problem with having more files in the category. You could also create subcategories one for the silver background and one for the black version. GPSLeo (talk) 09:20, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For example, for image File:AM 100 dram Ag 2012 Parajanov b.png we have 3 verions: 1st verion is poor quality photo; 2nd verion isn't real coin's image, it's drawings or sketches; 3rd (current) verion is high quality copy of 1st verion.
Image File:AM 100 dram Ag 2005 Partev Vramshapuh a.png is obverse version for coins: «Vramshapuh» and «Sahak Partev». In this case, the change in color scheme is not categorical, but the obverse will correspond to both of coins in the series.
In addition to uploading images, I add descriptions to the files in English, Russian and Armenian for subgroups of coins; I have to bring all files by series into the same color scheme and similar catalog names.
I understand that I may have made some controversial edits, but I'll try not to overuse/misapply/ image replacements. Vahe (talk) 11:31, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As I wrote uploading them as new files is never a problem while overwriting the old version could be a problem. I will grant you the right for cases where the changes are definitely minor. GPSLeo (talk) 16:25, 30 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I frequently overwrite low‐resolution images by tracking down the original source whenever possible. I have also made minor improvements to quality image or featured picture candidates to help them get the distinction, such as 1. Also sometimes I do watermark removals, such as 2. Also some of my edits are restreching of location maps, like 3, this changes the aspect ratio but I have been specifically instructed by an experienced user not to upload restreched location maps as new files. At File:Coat of arms of NO 1723 Mosvik.svg you made a major change by changing the color. Such changes should be uploaded as a new version. Especially as the file is from 2009. GPSLeo (talk) 16:16, 30 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@GPSLeo: : That particular change I felt was a minor color correction as the Commons:Overwriting_existing_files policy states. That particular coat of arms was blazoned as green and wikt:argent. Argent can be interpreted as silver or white (silver is usually only used when the arms are made of metal). Virtually all of the Norwegian coats of arms on the wiki commons show white for argent so I updated it for consistency. Since that particular municipality no longer exists and these arms would never be changed again, I felt that this minor change was ok to bring it to uniformity with other municipal coats of arms in Norway. I hope this answers your question/concern. --Jay1279 (talk) 23:42, 30 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I regularly overwrite image uploads (including those not uploaded by me) under COM:OVERWRITE, either to upload higher-resolution versions (which are not always available on an official website immediately) or to perform colour corrections - "uncorrections" in the cases of extremely old images.
Since I perform high-resolution uploads or colour correction of several images at a time, autopatrolled will be helpful to avoid the hassle of requesting overwrite permissions for each individual file. If there are certain violations of COM:OVERWRITE on my end, they usually occur on high-resolution uploads to official portraits uploaded early in Wikipedia's history (2006 to 2011+). Such initial uploads have multiple changes made by prior editors - full size uploads to headshots from Congressional Directory are ubiquitous among early U.S. Congressmen. Having to split all of these old images into new versions is highly disruptive and would detract from my main tasks - these are best handled by dedicated users. Otherwise, I would appreciate your assistance. Thank you. SuperWIKI (talk) 03:09, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you upload a smaller photo with the comment "higher res" at File:BG Andrew C. Gainey (3).jpg. In the past you only uploaded new versions for file where you also uploaded the original version. For this you do not need autopatrol rights. GPSLeo (talk) 18:15, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That was a mistake in comment. I uploaded the photo because the original photo was cropped. The comment should have been "full size/height." There are instances where I do upload new versions of files uploaded by other editors, like File:LTG Telita Crosland (2).jpg, File:William C Anderson.jpg, and File:Thomas L. Moore, Jr.jpg. I frequently overwrite low‐resolution artwork pictures by tracking down the original source whenever possible, always trying to comply with COM:OVERWRITE. In the past I've done this for a very big group of files and as such, I think requesting permission for every single overwrite of this kind in the future would be counterproductive as well as a hassle for whoever has to approve every individual request. @GPSLeo: That photograph was (and still is) used in only one infobox in the English Wikipedia, and the purpose of that crop was solely to improve the framing of the infobox image for encyclopedic use, which involved focusing on the head and shoulders. But I appreciate that this was a case that could definitely have necessitated a separate file, and I'm familiar with the guidelines at COM:CROP; the majority of the crops I make are as new uploads, with the remainder being minor improvements. I have also undid inappropriate overwrites (4, 5). I have been an active user of Commons for more than a decade and I never decided to ask for this rights until now, that I am more actively improving the infoboxes via Wikidata, where picking the best images sometimes include minor color or brightness improvements in many underused files. For example, right now I was with some minor improvements in File:ICAR canned beef monument in Sarajevo.jpg for its Wikidata element. I am also in charge of the social media handles of the Catalan Wikipedia, and we tweet many images that sometimes need a bit of improvement to be shown properly to the main public. It can be a win-win if after posting them, I can also upload the better version on Commons, so that the outreach work also reverts back into the project. I have previously reported speedy deletion files and dozens of OTRS permissions, have admin rights in the Catalan Wikiquote and Wikibooks, taught seminars, curricular lectures and lead wikiprojects on Wikipedia+Wikidata+Commons and Open Access licensing at the GLAM national level and university level, with enough knowledge on most of the legal and community rules to upload or not files around here. Less than a month ago, I organized a wikiproject that lead to new 350 SVG files translated to Catalan, so that our community got familiar with working with this kind of files. I believe I can get trusted by the Commons community, even we always at risk to commit mistakes; I hope you let me know if this ever happen or I do not follow a specific policy. Even if you uploaded the original version. You should never overwrite them with totally different versions like you did on File:Albenga-Stemma.svg, File:Flag of the Province of Turin.svg or File:Verbania-Stemma.svg. GPSLeo (talk) 17:53, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
But what if the old version of my upload is incorrect or i just don't like it, for example i removed the branches and updated the designs on the coat of arms of Verbania since it doesn't actually use branches and i didn't like the old eagle i used, are there any steps I could take to resolve a similar problem if it happened again? MostEpic (talk) 19:23, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just upload the new version as a new file and then write in the description of the old one that there is a new better version. If needed you can request to replace the old version using User:CommonsDelinker/commands. Then the users on the projects where the old file was used see that it was changed. If you overwrite the file they have to look at the file to see that is was changed. GPSLeo (talk) 10:49, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm working on SVG swiss coats of arms with a few other people. Now and then I need to overwrite files with lighter versions or with small fixes. My goal should never be to change a coat of arms' design. From time to time I also use the overwrite tool to clean pictures (removing frames for exemple). I understand the rules about overwriting and I've reverted a lot of overwrites that didn't comply with COM:OW in the past. Thank you. Espandero (talk) 17:46, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You write that you reverted some bad overwrites form the past. I found some recent bad overwrites they are not reverted File:CHE Albinen Logo.jpg, File:CHE Isérables COA.svg or File:CHE Sierre Flag.svg. GPSLeo (talk) 17:59, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't mean my overwrites, I meant other people's bad overwrites like File:Albinen-coat of arms.svg, File:CHE Waldenburg COA.svg, File:Mels-coat of arms.svg and File:Unterbäch-coat of arms.svg. My overwrites you have stated are from the swiss COA project. I always make sure the original uploader is OK with me overwriting his file. The Isérables one is my own file to begin with and the other two are files from SpinnerLaserzthe2nd who gave me permission to overwrite his files without asking first since we're working on the same things (and btw only the Sierre one would not comply with COM:OW since the Albinen logo was an improvement as the part I removed was not part of the logo of the municipality). I can't find the exact message where he gave me permission but here he states that he doesn't mind people overwriting his files. I did so in the case of Sierre because we use a specific name for the swiss COA and flags and I thought it would be pointless to upload this version as a separate file since SpinnerLaserz gave me his permission to overwrite his files. - Espandero (talk) 18:23, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And I'd like to add that I'm aware I shouldn't have to overwrite for more than small improvements, even for my files. I don't plan to overwrite for more than minor improvements in the future because now the COA Project has defined a way to make the swiss COAs (colour palette and shield shapes). Thanks, Espandero (talk) 19:03, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That you have the permission of the original uploader is only relevant if the file was not used in the time between the original upload and the new version. As these files where already used widely you would have to talk to all those who already use the file. So simply upload it as a new file. If you think that some part of an image does not belong to it does not mean that everyone thinks so. To avoid disputes simply go the small extra step and upload it as a new file. GPSLeo (talk) 10:37, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What do you mean by "those who already use the file"? As far as I'm aware the files you stated were made by people I know from the COA projects, who don't mind my overwrites because we're working in the same direction. The discussion is open with them so if the overwrites bothered them I'm pretty sure they would have let me know. Other than the people involved in the files you stated I don't know who else to reach for since we're the ones making the files and putting them on Wikipedia. For example the Iserables one I'm pretty sure I was the one who used it in the different versions of Wikipedia to replace an older file. It was then overwritten to change to the colour palette we agreed to and I overwrote it once more to change it to the shield we agreed to. Now I understand that changing these things alters the whole file but as I said this should not happen anymore because we have everything figured out now.
I'm not asking for this tool to take it lightly and continue the way it was before. I've had to fight a lot about overwrites in the past, mostly with the files in Category:Matt coats of arms of Swiss cantons, so I welcome this new rule with open arms. I'm now mostly interested in overwriting to make small adjustments to the files in this Swiss COA project that we have in common between WP.fr and WP.de. Thanks again, Espandero (talk) 11:17, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I mean the 20 Wikis using the files they are not engaged with your project group. You are changing the file there and they might not notice. If you upload the new version as a new file and then replace the old one with the new one using User:CommonsDelinker/commands they see that the file was changed and can decide if they want to use the new version or revert the change to the old one. GPSLeo (talk) 11:45, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay so I could leave a message on the talkpage of the articles to let everybody following the page know that a change has been made, even though out of the 20+ wikis 15+ are usually stubs or sometimes even automatically created pages. This seems to me like a viable option to make it work. - Espandero (talk) 13:14, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you do this this way they would have to request a version split if they want to stay with the old version. Just upload a new file and use the universal replace. GPSLeo (talk) 14:22, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay understood. I'll be more careful about overwriting in the future. As stated I don't need to do overwrites like the Sierre or Iserables files anymore, only small improvements. Espandero (talk) 18:16, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn’t be requesting this if it weren’t now necessary to overwrite existing files. I almost exclusively edit SVG maps and election diagrams that need frequent updates. Most of these aren’t kept up-to-date by the user that originally uploaded them. I only have 114 edits in Commons, which I realize is significantly lower than the suggested 500, but I am active in the English Wikipedia with over 1000. Almost all the files I’ve edited here are used in Wikipedia articles I had already edited several times. And although many, if not most, of my edits here have been overwriting existing files, they have all (to my knowledge) complied with the Commons:Overwriting existing files guideline. The file I tried to overwrite, before realizing I needed this permission now, is File:German state government compositions.svg. I didn’t upload it originally, but I’ve been the only editor keeping it up-to-date for over a year. I also had edits planned for File:Bundestag (current composition).svg, File:Capital punishment in the world.svg, and File:2020 Hamburg state election - composition chart.svg, neither of which has been edited by the original uploader in years. I would like the autopatrol right primarily so that I can perform minor color/exposure adjustments on images. This happens mostly in the context of pictures I use in the Wikibooks Cookbook. You can see File:Sodium bicarbonate CN brightened.png and File:Ground Cinnamon Powder and a Cinnamon Stick adjusted.png for examples of adjustments that I've had to upload as new files. In the past, I have inappropriately overwritten files (for example: major cropping) because I was unaware of the Commons:Overwriting existing files guidelines; however, I have now fully reviewed them. I overwrite public domain pictures when the current image is small and I find higher-res versions online, such as here, here, or here. Every now and then I will adjust levels or white balance when I find an image that needs it (e.g. here or here), or minor photoshops like blurring a background (e.g. here) and cropping out all-white borders around historical photographs (e.g. here). I sometimes do color changes for SVG maps to make them colorblind-friendly (e.g. here and here). Thank you. Ich (talk) 17:59, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
An overwrite like you did on File:Zunft-Kölsch Glas.JPG is totally unacceptable. And a major change of the color scheme like you did on File:Map of European countries by maximum blood alcohol level.svg also always needs to be uploaded as a new file. GPSLeo (talk) 09:39, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I reviewed COM:CROP and understand the objections on the Zunft glass; I've reverted it and re-uploaded as a separate file. For the Blood Alcohol graph, I am colorblind and I think such a change could qualify as minor; I checked all uses on Wikipedia and confirmed none had a separate color key embedded in the text. I will err on the side of caution going forward.
I'm happy to limit any future overwrites on Commons to uploading higher-res versions and removing borders that are not part of the actual image; that's probably 90% of my overwrites anyway.-Ich (talk) 15:38, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've been uploading for well over 10 years, and I've uploaded probably 2,000-3,000 of my own photos and improved probably over 100. Bubba73 (talk) 07:24, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Artificially upscaling like you are doing it is totally unaccepted per the Commons:Overwriting existing files guideline. GPSLeo (talk) 09:51, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I see it listed there, but I don't see why it is unacceptable. It makes a minor improvement to the sharpness, which is a good thing. Bubba73 (talk) 01:02, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It is easy enough to create a new file, but then (1) each one needs to link to the other, and (2) all of the links to the photo need to be updated to the new version. And, as far as I know, there is no easy/practical way to do that. Bubba73 (talk) 01:35, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And, by the way, the latest one that I was trying to improve was a photo that was 640x480 pixels! That was the standard resolution for an IBM PC (CGA graphics) in 1987! Some early, poor-quality digital cameras used that format (my wife had one). I sharpened it and upscaled it into something noticeably better, but I could not upload that improved version, simply because it was a larger file than the 1987 standard. Bubba73 (talk) 04:57, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I just tried to upload and uncropped version of a NASA Apollo photograph, but it would not allow me to do it. Bubba73 (talk) 05:38, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have not been active on Commons recently, or on any Wikimedia project for that matter, due to real-life constraints, but now I do intend to return as the constraints have loosened. Sorry for my late response, life got in the way.
Yes, I'm aware that I've violated COM:OW several times, even though I've been concentrating more on uploading brand new files lately. Those past overwrites were mainly to fix bugs (both of emblazonment and rendering issues) or to clean them up, although I'm aware that I should have kept the original design (even though some of them are more than 15 years old and contain heraldic errors). In the future I'll pay more attention to this rule and upload my versions as new files.--Thom.lanaud (talk) 19:40, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You made no file upload at all in the last year. Do you really think that you need this right? GPSLeo (talk) 15:47, 13 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have a file ready I want to upload and as I have updated images in the past (e.g. File:LocatieStedendriehoekWGR.svg, File:Locatormap NL NUTS2.png and File:Europe flags.png) I think it's useful to ask for the right, rather than ask permission for just the file I have currently. - Kippenvlees1 (talk) 16:47, 13 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am currently creating new versions of the Locator Maps of my country, with updated data extracted from OpenStreetMap. Until a few months ago I could replace them one by one, but recently a restriction was implemented to prevent overwriting existing files without first requiring an exception for each file. Which would be impossible for me to achieve because there are nearly 500 locator maps that I want to replace. Thank you. Wguayana (talk) 15:39, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I have been contributing to Wikimedia Commons for over a year, mainly in the topic of Heraldry. I usually have to overwrite old files that have incorrect heraldic attributes, such as lion positions, colors to standardize to the main heraldic tincture, add external ornaments... I am also active in the topic of Vexillology, so maybe when Flags need or don't need the Coat of Arms I can freely add them or remove them. I am quite active both to Wikipedia and Commons. Thank you. Hello, I mainly contribute to the fields of heraldry and vexillology. My current project is uploading Norwegian military coats of arms here together with Worldlydev. Being unable to upload new versions of files that were originally uploaded by somebody else means I can no longer contribute to correct errors or mistakes. Thank you. I regularly update maps and charts to reflect new information or correct errors. Often, these maps track legislative changes or treaty ratifications and have typically been non-controversial, but recently, I've been receiving this overwrite notice. Thank you.  Question On November 30, you received a talk message to stop using InkScape on a file you overwrote. Will you be mindful of requests to use a text editor in the future? Abzeronow (talk) 18:16, 10 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I was not aware that Inkscape was a problem for SVG maps. I will be mindful of such requests going forward. Robsalerno (talk) 06:39, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I have been a Commons editor since 2019, and I primarily upload portraits/photographs of people. I thoroughly understand American copyright policy for photographs, and always take advantage of Category:Commons licensing help by country and the Commons:Hirtle chart for additional information. Thank you in advance. Curbon7 (talk) 04:12, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I would like autopatrol rights so I am able to overwrite images uploaded by other users. I'm only intending to use this power sparingly in situations such as File:Young Richard Hunt in Cleveland Ave Studio - Chicago 1962.jpg where I want to crop the borders but don't want to create a new file, or upload higher resolution version of an existing photo if it is clearly superior and renders the old version unnecessary. I have 551 edits on Commons, most since about 2019. Thank you. TarkusAB (talk) 20:08, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I want to be able to overwrite files, especially as the 2024 presidential elections kicks into high gear. I am a very experienced user on Wikipedia and Commons when it comes to U.S. presidential elections. Thank you. Prcc27 (talk) 03:40, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I would appreciate autopatrol rights to overwrite existing uploads. This right would be carefully used for relevant situations, generally focused on biology and geology fields. One such use would be to upload higher-quality versions of File:Bustingorrytitan Shiva.jpg and other freely-licensed fossil images. Thank you for your consideration, SlvrHwk (talk) 06:19, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have uploaded over 600 files and I have found myself needing to overwrite some existing files to improve quality. Thank you. Nkon21 (talk) 10:43, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am uploading Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps from the Library of Congress. Rate Limit is slowing me down. I am not uploading anything else. Thank you. Nowakki (talk) 12:24, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Can you explain in your own words why you were indefinitely blocked from English Wikipedia earlier this year? Abzeronow (talk) 18:35, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I was trying to compile a list of blast furnaces. A few other people thought this was not appropriate. I tried shaming them into admitting that wikipedia would probably lose against the internal knowledge base of the Burundi intelligence service's football team, but they were not having any of it from the petulant guy.
I don't think this is relevant. Either you want the maps or you don't. I am just providing technical assistance today. I will give the rights back when i am done. Nowakki (talk) 19:59, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you are asking for a temporary grant of these rights, how long do you think you'd need the right for? Abzeronow (talk) 20:02, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
more than a week, less than a year. Nowakki (talk) 20:37, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done I've granted you the autopatrol flag for 3 months. Abzeronow (talk) 20:47, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Every once in a while I used to improve pictures by some colour-correction etc. Now I realised, that I no longer can overwrite pictures. To be able to go on improving picture quality, I ask for autopatrol rights, Thank you --Bodow 16:56, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
