Hudson River Hospital

[edit]

Please beware of making claims based on appearance. It may be a big brick building with graffiti, but the Hudson River Hospital is in a decidedly non-urban area between Poughkeepsie and Hyde Park, New York. And it's an abandoned psychiatric hospital, not an apartment building. Acroterion (talk) 11:48, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Camera position

[edit]

Please don't add a camera position if you don't know where a photo was taken. This picture was made here and not here. Gouwenaar (talk) 10:08, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The photo had no camera position, I added locations to a whole lot of photos using the [locator-tool.toolforge.org Locator Tool] I maybe should have skipped your photo since the zoom made it harder to locate, however, in my humble opinion it is better to have an approximate camera position opposed to none, especially if the photo is very zoomed the exact camera position the photo is taken is less important. Building on this idea of the zoomed photo, I think it would add a lot to add an Object location. It would help predict what the content of the photo might be. That being said, many thanks again Gouwenaar for specifying the exact location. --Daanvr (talk) 12:29, 7 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In my opinion, only the object location is relevant. The camera position is in most cases irrelevant and does not add anything interesting to the photographed objects. It is almost impossible to determine the exact camera position by the person who did not take the photo.Gouwenaar (talk) 13:44, 7 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrol given

[edit]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. —‍Mdaniels5757 (talk • contribs) 01:23, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
