[edit]These are all images of the uploader, whose other contributions were almost all copyvios. There are two issues here: First, while we allow one or two user page images for active contributors, so far this person has not shown that he wants to be a useful contributor and 11 is far more than one or two. Commons is not Facebook. Second, these are claimed as "own work" and while one or two might be selfies, the rest violate the copyright which belongs to the actual photographer.

[edit]Some of these files were involved in earlier Deletion Nominations, including one which I closed as keep. However, on review of entire gallery and upon receipt of private, off wiki correspondence, and my looking into what was stated in that correspondence, I now have no faith that any of these images were created by the uploaders; including the one/s transferred from other places. The unifying theme is that the same person, Maziar Ashrafian Bonab is the subject of all these photos. Mr. Bonab also has an en:wiki page with several templates at top, Maziar Ashrafian Bonab. I think now this is a collection of images from various - unattributed - sources all intended for the promotion or self-promotion of Mr. Bonab. Thus, any not found to be COM:COPYVIOs can be removed as out of COM:SCOPE because Commons is not Facebook or other social self-aggrandizement site.

While uploaded to Flickr under "No known copyright restrictions", I believe this is an error, as the source book was published in 1993, with copyright notice, and is not a work of a Federal government employee. The Internet Archive page currently states "In copyright. Digitized with the permission of the American Society of Mammalogists." The license info at Biodiversity Heritage Library similarly states " In copyright. The photo appears to be taken of the screen displaying the panel that the subject was participating in, rather than of the actual subject on a stage in front of them. The video screen recording is copyright of New York Comic Con, and taking a photo of the screen of a copyrighted work doesn't equate to a free to use image. The user's Flickr that is linked serves as proof of this. In the EXIF info, you can see that the focal length is 135 mm for both up close shots, as well as shots of the entire panel. This doesn't make sense unless the user took photos of the screen that displays a close up of the person speaking for the benefit of the audience who are further away. This is the first image I have seen of this from this user, but I would venture to guess that there are likely many dozens of others from the same user. - Zum MDR, der darf nach §50 UrhG Bilder davon problemlos zeigen. Wir hier nicht, Wikipedia ist weder Berichterstatter über aktuelle Tagesfragen (das ist ja quasi bereits das, was nicht gewollt ist), noch sind Abbildungen davon entsprechend der Definition freier Werke hier „frei“. Wie du korrekt sagtest, muss ein Beiwerk so unwesentlich sein, dass es quasi niemandem auffällt. Drei Busse hingestellt sind jedoch mehr als deutlich, gehört in jedem Bild zu den Top-3-Hinguck-Punkten. Einzige Ausnahme ist das Bild File:Dresden am Neumarkt 2.jpg, hier sind die Busse tatsächlich so minimalistisch dargestellt, dass man von einer Beiwerksregelung ausgehen kann, denn man sieht sie erst, wenn man direkt nach sucht. Interessant ist, dass du den Link zum OLG Köln zum Produktfoto mit Gemälde eines Möbelkataloges(zweiter Link) genommen hast, denn gerade dieses Urteil, wurde vom BGH ja einkassiert., und gesagt, dass diese beliebigen Bestandteile des Bildes kein Beiwerk sind.

To your links: the second link given, that a picture of a painting behind a couch in a furniture-catalogue is de minimis, the Federal Court of Justice has stated otherwise, that such paintings in a furniture-cataloge are'nt de minimis and are copyrighted. This video shoould contain da demonstration to the opening ceremony of the temporary art de:Installation „Monument“ (Dresden). But what we can see on this video are only some people, some tv-cameras and a sound noise. There are no people saying, crying or demonstrating. This video could be filmed everywhere to every subject. - This file shows the overheated atmosphere among the protesters half an our before the opening ceremony. The monument is standing on the right, outside the focus of the camera. Thats the reason, why this file don't violate the copyright of the artist.
- I was uploading some other videos with the protesters. But they all show the artwork and were deleted. (I converted them into the sound files you will find in the category.)
- It is obvious, that user:Quedel is not familiar with the location and did not do any research about the place. Otherwise he would have recognized the Johanneum in the background. The building lot is also recognizable. As long as this picture File:Busse vor Frauenkirche.jpg is not deleted, everybody can see the place from a different angle. I as the maker of the video was standing on the left side of the monument during filming this snippet. (right beneath the glass entrance to the underground parking lot)

- To be fair only part of it meets the speedy criteria, although there is no fixed formula for deciding this. Whatever the circumstances, the collage is legitimately in use on about 15 Wikipedia articles about Damascus. Deleting the collage immediately would mean extra work for users on those Wikipedias. Deleted Commons files are "hidden" on other projects by CommonsDelinker using <!-- and --> but it doesn't revert the page to a previous version, which might contain another free image. Instead it makes more sense to give the uploader or indeed anyone else the chance to fix the collage and save having to cause extra edits elsewhere. Commons isn't social media. These images are of artworks from the 1960s to today, a couple of images of people and a black and white from 1972, and a logo. There is no indication of user's own work on the photos, the artwork needs COM:OTRS from the artist or artists heirs - or some other license than "self" because obviously the photographer created none of these works. Various cameras - and no-camera - as well as composition, white balance, and so on all suggest the people photographs are collected from elsewhere and not own work. One prior star-photo was speedied as it was copied from another website.

According to cs:Diskuse s wikipedistou:Stella-J they proclaim themselves to be the authors of the pictures. The speedydelete mentioned there was already undeleted due to valid permission via OTRS. Moreover some of those artworks are located in public places in the Czech Republic and should be considered with Freedom of panorama. - Delete I have created this files years ago (actually, 11 years ago!) when there was only a PNG version of the logo. Was done rather quickly in Inkscape, and the poor quality is due to the logo which wasn't available in a better resolution either back then. Nowadays, I do not see a need for it anymore, and it is only used on user pages, so I would prefer to remove this low-quality vectorised image and replace it by the new one (if possible with not too much effort). (Nevertheless, thanks for the votes to keep it.)

Hi, this is my answer about the rights of those pictures that have been in Commons for several years with no problems, of course :-)
- All those images correspond to meetings organized by Udako Euskal Unibertsitatea (UEU), and Udako Euskal Unibertsitatea is the owner of the rights to publish these pictures.
- The fickr account "ueu365" is the Udako Euskal Unibertsitatea's account in Flickr (ueu stands for Udako Euskal Unibertsitatea; 365 stands for "every day news"). You can consult also the blog ueu365 (http://www.unibertsitatea.net/blogak/ueu365/) with the slogan "UEUren jarduera akademikoaren bloga" that means "blog on academic activities of the Udako Euskal Unibertsitatea", with direct kink to ueu.eus ("Kontaktua: ikastaroak@ueu.eus"). Here again "ueu365" means Udako euskal Unbertsitatea.

- Thank you for your clarity. It doesn't hurt to take a second look especially as the flickr page appears to be a pool site, not the work of an individual. The images are illustrations, some have other logos and images embedded. The blog you referred to also seems to have photographs created by more than one person and may include web-found images. The article where these are in use https://eu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Informatikari_euskaldunen_bilkurak is a page that shows all these posters/covers as a table. Its nearly an orphan and has one citation; so it appears (although it may not be) some form of promotionalism. I found the linked sites to which it is linked light on references (e.g. https://eu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elena_Lazkano & https://eu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Udako_Euskal_Unibertsitatea), or in the case of https://eu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Do_Androids_Dream_of_Electric_Sheep%3F, the link only appears in the references. First of all I would like to remark that Udako Euskal Unibertsitatea (Basque Summer University) is a non-profit cultural association (declared of public utility) working with the aim of "building bridges between the Basque language and the university, and producing university texts in Basque". Then, of course there is no commercial interest on publishing those images of leaflets and schedules for old workshops from the past. I included them as a way to historically document that non-profit activity, that, by the way, for more than 8 years it has been a suitable forum to motivate contributions to Basque Wikipedia in the area of Computer Science. Yes, you are right, there is not a lot of links to this article,,, Basque Wikipedia is not very strong, we have a lot of weak areas. The area of Computer Science is large in English Wikipedia, but not so robust in Basque... we are working for that... and the workshops described in the article are an important agent in that way. (I used https://itzultzailea.eus/fr/traducteur, that is better than Google for Basque). As none of the authors of the four images mentioned yesterday was working for agencies (EFE, Argazki Press or FOKU) the four images have CC-BY-SA licence. - Hi, Teles, I am collecting information about printed encyclopedias in Basque (see Euskarazko entziklopediak in Basque Wikipedia). All of them have more than 20 years and it is almost impossible to see them in public libraries. They are too old. As I wanted to show the differences between those all encyclopedias in structure, in the use of pictures and in working teams, my plan is to show pictures of book covers, editors and just one or two pages to show the structure of the definitions in the encyclopedia (just one or two pages not a lot of pages). Besides those books are too old, and most of them have been freely distributed with CC-BY-SA licence. It is the case of "Lur" encyclopedia (see https://www.euskadi.eus/lur-hiztegi-enziklopedikoa/web01-a2lurhiz/eu/). The case of Elkar encyclopedia is not so clear (Its contents were published in if you think I should do it, I will ask the editors for an explicit permission, but take into account that 1) the book is old (2003) 2) I just use the book cover, information about the editors, statistics of the entries and just one or two pages to show the structure. So I think there is no problem to publish those pictures. Please, tell me if you think I have to ask for explicit permissions of Elkar Encyclopedia, I would need one month, more or less, for that. Logo of an existing company. It is quite rare for active companies to release their logos under CC license (effectively allowing competitors to use them or alter them). It is unnecessary to do so for articles in most Wikipedias (they can be included under fair use) so there's no upside for the company. Would prefer an OTRS ticket for something as unusual as this. Delete This is a Belgian company. This logo would absolutely not have a copyright in the USA -- typefaces and single words do not. It might have a copyright in the UK. I don't think we have any data on Belgium, so I think COM:PRP applies.

A magyar törvényi szabályozás az, hogy az ismeretlen szerzőjű képek az első ismert publikálástól számított 70-év elteltével válnak közkinccsé. Hungarikusz Firkász láthatóan fellép a magyar wikipédia ellen. Arra törekszik, hogy a wikipedia magyar tartalma ne fejlődjön. Mondvacsinált ürügyekkel igyekszik megakadályozni, hogy a magyar tartalom bővüljön. Kérem, hogy adjunk megfelelő választ erre a magatartásra.

(Ez afféle "elegáns", Gugyerák féle megoldásː derítsd ki hogy miről beszélek, tud meg hogy miről van szó). Én ezt nem engedném. A forrás szerintem az, ahonnét származik az adott file, mint digitális formátum. Ha valaki jobbat tud, az irja meg az adott információt, de ne köpjön bele más levesébe. Nem csak azért, mivel ez egy undorító, gusztustalan dolog, hanem azért sem, mivel a forrás megjelölés nem arra ad információt, hogy eredetileg vagy egyébként hol tették közzé az adott file-t, hanem arra, hogy azt a konkrét file-t amit feltöltöttek a wikipédiára honnét vették. Aki ennyit sem ért, annak kár a wikipédiára dolgozni. Ha nem lehet abban biztos az olvasó, hogy a forrásként megjelölt hely tényleg a forrása az adott képnek, akkor nagyon nagy baj van, igazi firkászi megoldásról beszélhetünk, ami lejáratja a wikipedia forrásmegjelölését.
Az általam a feltöltéskor megjelölt forrás (Báró Kemény Jánosról http://www.kemenyinfo.hu/?xid=9dd3a7c3 -- A helikoni irói közösségről http://www.kemenyinfo.hu/content.php?s=portalmain&id=qbcffvzbwt4vd0du&f=art1&activate=3&subactivate=0 (hozzáférés: 2016.11.06)) a Kemény család honlapja. Firkász persze tesz erre, ahogy minden másra is. Arra is, hogy a Kemény család Firkásszal és az általa megjelölt "forrás"-sal is ellentétben 1927-re teszi a fénykép készítésének időpontját. Nagyon nem érdekli Firkászt az sem, hogy ez a Helikoni találkozó már 1927-ben sem magánügy volt, a fényképet nyilvánvalóan közzétették már 1927-ben. Ezt persze bizonyítanunk kellene, mivel Firkász ellenérdekeltségére biztosan számíthatunk. Neki csak az a szempont, hogy ezt a fényképet törölni, megsemmisíteni lehessen, hiszen nem egyezik az ő értékrendjével, nem róla szól. Ném váló, mint Szöllősy báróné mondta volt.
Kérem hogy azok a wikipédisták, akik fontosnak találják a firkászi szabotázs elleni fellépést, segítsenek megállapitani a file legkorábbi közzétételének időpontját. Érdemes lenne azt a tanácsot adni Firkásznak, hogy tehetségét ne a magyar, hanem mondjuk az angol wikipédián kamatoztassa. In most countries, all paintings, sculpture, architecture, text, and other creative works have copyrights which last for 70 years after the death of the creator. An image of a work that is still under copyright is a derivative work, and infringes on the copyright so that we cannot usually keep the image on Commons. In some countries, there is a special exception to the copyright law which allows such images under certain circumstances. We call that exception freedom of panorama (FOP). Our translation of the law states: Works permanently located in parks, streets, squares or other public places may be freely reproduced, distributed and communicated by means of paintings, drawings, photographs and audiovisual processes.
