Your marking of duplicates

You marked File:Kristen Schaal by Gage Skidmore.jpg as duplicate but you should have better marked the newer, unused, file as dupe. Especially because the original file was directly uploaded by the creator and the newer from his Flickr account. Delete or new license

You reversed my suggestion to delete File:Brev fra General Ruge 17.02.1945.jpg. Thats OK, but you wrote "No reason for deletion specifieid". That's not correct. It is suggested because the license is wrong. The text "Author died more than 70 years ago. Public domain" is wrong. Authour died in 1961.

Hello! I wanted to upload these two images from Bollywood Hungama 1 and 2 of the actress Negar Khan. The images are of audio launch event of the 2004 film Shaadi Ka Laddoo. The template {{Cc-by-3.0-BollywoodHungama}} says that all the photographs from their website with the exception of screenshots, wallpapers or promotional posters are all owned by them and are free. Its discouraged to have your personal photos uploaded here, but still the picture is informative as it includes a portion of the fort as well. If you think the image is {{Out of scope}}, you can either put this template or nominate it for deletion. Hi Sreejith, All the Tamil titled images list the names of Gods / Goddess present in Shiva temples. The image titles include words like Page 1, Page 2 etc., So, it is likely that it is a scanned image of a book or something. The information in these images can be transcribed and is also availble as public knowledge. I don't see a need for them to be saved as image files. This is my personal opinion. Please decide according to Commons rules and after giving a chance for the uploader to explain.

Bollywood Hungama's suspicious images

Hello! I came across these two images File:Christian Bale 2011.jpg and File:Natalie Portman 2, 2011.jpg uploaded under the BH's license. The sources match for both files and the images are in the "parties and events" section too. But i am suspicious of BH being the actual author of these images. Its a website dedicated to Bollywood in general and other Indian film related activities. I don't say that they can't fly to LA and click these pics or they can't upload it from any other source that has given these pics under the same license. But i am still skeptical about it. Can we trust a website in such cases? (Note: I haven't yet checked for possible copyvios from other sites. Copyright statuses could be confusing for newbies. So I recommend that you upload only the pictures that you have taken yourself. Parkway Bakery photo - a note on why I reversed your deletion

Good day. I undid and reversed your deletion of File:Parkway Bakery New Orleans.jpg in favor of File:Parkway Bakery (4704158421).jpg. The image you deleted had vague categorization whereas the one you deleted was in a specific cat for that restaurant; it also had inaccurate description of the location. I might have simply replaced the poor categorization and misinformation on the image you kept with that from the one you deleted, but the one you kept also had a much worse name. I'm sorry for not making it clear. I meant the following:

• Available closed captioning files.
• |en=To view the subtitles along with the video (an example; there are other ways):

1. download this video file (right click → save target as)
2. download a subtitle file (.srt file format) from below (right click → save target as) to the same folder and name it Sreejithk2000/Archive 9.srt
3. view the video with VLC media player (subtitles will be usually be automatically shown)

• full list
• Create new translation or edit existing
• Replace en part with your language code and press Go button

Flickr doubt

Previously one used to see the license information on the right side on any flickr image. I can't see that anymore. Has flickr modified something or have i done something wrong? §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 12:26, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

If I am at the photostream page, I can see the license under the image thumbnail, but if I am at a photo page, the only place I am able to see the license is under the Share menu. If you expand the item "Grab the HTML/BBCode", you can see the license at the very bottom. Rename wrong name?

Why did you direct this "File:Flag of Guanajuato.svg" to "File:Guanajuato Flag.svg"?, it's not a exactly duplicate file (they have different designs) besides the name "Guanajuato Flag.svg" is completly wrong, it should be rename as "Flag of Guanajuato". duplicates of djvu files

When identifying duplicates of djvu, it is well worth noting that where the work is transcluded at Wikisource, then the work should not be nominated as the duplicate. Uploading Photos queries

Hello there, do mind if you can explain to me the complete procedures of uploading a photo. Which ever article I read about uploading photos, has got my completely confused even more. And also if you could tell me on how add photos to a page whilst linking it to the main website,example if i am not wrong you were the one who uploaded the photo for Neha Sharma's page. Apparently the photo is linked from bollywood hungama. Bollywood Hungama website has been generous enough to donate all the photos taken by their staff photographers in a free license. We have borrowed a lot of their work. Feel free to take pictures from their website which is listed in the Parties and Events section. Back in Jan 2012, you moved File:SiMha gaNapati.bmp.jpg over from en.wikipedia. But (probably due to the drama that occured around that time), you never categorized the image, or moved any of the other pages over. I'm trying to clear out that day's worth of uncategorized images, so it would be great if you would be willing to help categorize that one, or better, move over the other pages and give them all a new category. The National Repository of Open Educational Resources has content including many images open under CC-BY-SA 3.0. Image are here. No, those should not be. Naseer is a prominent photographer and that category and sub-categories are effectively organizing his photographs, and those are not tracking categories (something like Category:Paintings of men of India by Raja Ravi Varma‎). A few years ago, you deleted File:3-Propinyl Benzene V.5.svg as a dup of File:Allyl Benzene V.2.svg, leaving a redirect. I think this is backwards. The image currently at the "allyl" name (three-carbon chain with a double bond) actually is a "propinyl" group (three-carbon chain with a triple bond). Technically it should just be "propinyl benzene" (no "3-" prefix) but that's a separate issue. Could you reverse this deletion/redirect? No comments. Multiple reasons. For one, I believe the image is under the threshhold of originality. Two, I do not personally feel its right to attack the logo of a political party which is as liberal as AAP. If the image was not under TOO, all we need here is an OTRS email. For example, we've had to delete some photos taken at Cannes hosted at the Bollywood Hungama site, even though they were not screenshots, wallpapers or promotional posters. BH copyvios

Hi! Hope you are aware of the newly discovered gravity of the problem with BH images. Take a look at User_talk:Dharmadhyaksha#BH_image_clean_up and the list at Template_talk:Cc-by-3.0-BollywoodHungama#Link_collection is growing with many Indian location snaps as well. What i think is that BH has started messing up in recent times, maybe they changed their terms and such of outsourcing. Hence we see multiple copies outside BH too, especially with newer event. I tried looking out for copies of older events and couldn't find any which could also be coincidence. Few newer events are also genuine. Although on a safer side nuking all 6000+ images will be a easier task, it would be a great loss. I can't decide yet whats good and hence am not taking any grand steps only asking for speedy del of individual images as and when i find them. Sorry Vinayaraj; it is my fault that I didn't check the page history earlier. But note that those pictures are CC BY 3.0 licensed; not CC BY-SA 3.0 licensed. It will be helpful for the reviewers, if you mention "image 1", "image 2", etc. in the source as IBP stores all images in an observation together.

Sorry for the omission, the image was Litlink_43a.jpg. On April 24, 2012 the CommonsDelinker bot removed the link from the German wikipedia to the picture because you deleted it from commons. I found the page now. The deletion reason says that although free to download, the software manual states the software is copyrighted and doesn't allow commercial use. Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and Bigg Boss are TV shows. The pictures are from the TV sets. I can't really say whether these are TV screenshots, but are likely to be it. From my experience so far with Bollywood Hungama images, their claim that the pictures were taken by their own photographers cannot be blindly trusted. Thats when I stopped reviewing them. deletion of old maps

Dear Sreejithk2000,

just by chance I noticed that you had deleted this old map and other maps uploaded by the same uploader. Perhaps Kirk didn't use the correct license. For such old maps, the license should be {{PD-old-70-1923}}. A copyright notice and watermark by the file hoster ČUZK - www.cuzk.cz of maps of the 19th century, however, is not an indication of copyrighted material, but copyfraud. Am I seeing this right? Maps with timestamp

Hi Sreejithk2000, please don't mark maps with timestamp as duplicates (File:EU28-2013-Eastern Partnership.svg). They are historical maps, used for example in en:history of the euro. A map with the timestamp 2013 is only valid for the year 2013 and not to be confused with a general map that will be updated. PNG and JPEG aren't identical from the point of view of assignment: JPEG is intended generally for use in Wiki, PNG is, as providing the best quality, generally for external users.
