File tagging File:Luxdorph coat of arms.jpg
[edit]This media was probably deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:Luxdorph coat of arms.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Luxdorph coat of arms.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

- @ User:Magog the Ogre: I am affraid I have also accidently uploaded this image and this image from the same author with the same license problem. Sorry about the screw-up! (I'm currently having problems with this Flicker uploader but am trying to find someone who can help me solve the problem and will be more careful until I get it to work again).Ramblersen2 (talk) 23:51, 31 July 2019 (UTC)
Flickr images
[edit]Good afternoon.
When uploading Flickr images, could you please attach the template {{Flickrreview}} so that a bot can confirm the license? Otherwise the file might be deleted if the Flickr uploader ever changes the license or removes the file.

[edit]Copyright status: File:Charlottenborg - Nyhavn gate.jpg
This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Charlottenborg - Nyhavn gate.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

[edit]Hej Ramblersen. Tak for dine mange fine uploads. File:GM's kontorbygning, Aldersrogade.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Hello! I don't understand your comment. Categories are for collecting all files belong to the category. It's not a kind of "valued image". So it can't be a reason to remove a file from a category if there is another image of the same object. BTW: The date is at the door. Please read Commons:Categories. --XRay 💬 07:01, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
- BTW: For your reason please use gallery pages. --XRay 💬 07:07, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
- User:XRay: Sorry but I don't get that point. Following your argumentation, more or less all images of buildings in Copenhagen could be added to Category:Windows in Copenhagen, Category: Doors in Copenhagen, Category: Roofs in Copenhagen etc. That would of course not make sense. When there is a lot of images available of a given subject, it makes more sense only to add the ones that are most relevant (highlight the specific feature the most) to a very specific category. I have seen similar points made on other category pages but do unfortunately not remember where.Ramblersen2 (talk) 07:27, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
- BTW There are at least a dozen images of that particular building that could be added to the same category.Ramblersen2 (talk) 07:34, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
- So please add them and please follow our guidelines. --XRay 💬 08:02, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
- I agree with Ramblersen here. It makes no sense to completely overload categories just because a very minor detail in an image could maybe fit in there. Personally I really prefer to put only the best images of that detail in the category, because otherwise the category quickly becomes unnecessarily hard to manage. If you really must, I'll recommend that you create a category similar to Category:Distant views of Rubjerg Knude Fyr, so that the better files becomes easier to find for the rest of us. --Hjart (talk) 11:11, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
- I disagree. If a category contains too much images it's time for subcategories. If you like to create a subcategory, please do it. (But please do not remove categories just for your idea.) And for a selection of images a gallery page is a good choice. If you like to have the best of a category, please use COM:VI. If you like to change our category system, please propose your idea at COM:FORUM. Here isn't a good place for these kind of discussions. --XRay 💬 13:41, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
- Categories are meant to collect all media files relevant to the category topic. For curated collections of media files, we use gallery pages. Repeated edits against this principle are considered to be vandalism. Changes to this policy can be discussed at Commons talk:Categories, but if I were you, I wouldn't get my hopes up too high. Cheers --MB-one (talk) 19:37, 19 December 2020 (UTC)

Peter Schannong
Ramblersen2 (talk) 14:06, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
- Det lykkedes for mig. Den fylder ca 29 MB. Hvordan foretrækker du at jeg navngiver den? --Hjart (talk) 14:26, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
- User:Hjart: Helt i orden.

Thanks for uploading File:Gundhildkorset.jpg.
Thank you. |

This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Carlsberg - Den Venetianske Tepavillon (1895).jpg.
Thank you. |

Hej Ramblersen. De728631 (talk) 16:18, 25 July 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, congrats for your works about the sculptures but be careful not confusing 5th-century and 5th-century BC. It's a common confusion that happens to everyone as the system proposes you existing categories. --Birdie (talk) 07:39, 14 September 2022 (UTC)

- You're welcome. You will maybe notice I just created templates for decades for several categories concerning Danish sculptures before Christ that were still missing: bronze statues, bronzes, busts, reliefs, sculptures and statues. There's also the category XXth-century (BC) sculptures in Copenhagen that can be used with most of the Danish sculptures. Have a nice day. Birdie (talk) 13:18, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, it's me again. I noticed you used categories like "xxxx busts in Denmark" so i Created a template working this way: {{BustsDK|189|5}}. Please be careful, categories are in plural so you have to name them "XXXX busts in Denmark". Have a nice week-end. --Birdie (talk) 13:12, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for this! I have been thinking about trying to put a template like together ever since I started creating the categories, but being quite inexperienced with the noble craft of template-making I have kept postponing it. A very nice weekend to you to!Ramblersen2 (talk) 13:48, 30 September 2022 (UTC)

Nyhavnsbroen
Hjart (talk) 06:39, 9 September 2023 (UTC)

Kategori for vognporte?
Hjart (talk) 06:49, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
Hjart (talk) 09:02, 12 May 2024 (UTC)

How to ask for speedy-delete of an empty category
[edit]When you want to ask for speedy-delete of an empty category, best practice is to mark it with {{SD|C2}} if it would be OK to re-create it in the future, given that appropriate content becomes available or {{SD|C1}} if it is an inappropriate category name that should not be reused. In particular, this is better practice than just blanking the category page, as you did at Category:Danish india in the 1660s. ("C1" and "C2" come from Commons:Criteria for speedy deletion).
