Zu meiner Vorgehensweise: Best practice (deutsch). Und es sei erwähnt, dass ich gleichartige und eher langweilige Änderungen mit einem Bot erledige. So manche in den Augen des Betrachters sinnlose Änderung einfacher Natur wird automatisch irgendwann wieder rückgängig gemacht, sinnvoll erscheinende oder immer wieder durch Dritte aus meiner Sicht eher unwichtige Änderungen werden von mir im Bot aufgenommen, so dass alle meine Bilder davon profitieren. |

Updates for editors
- Users of the iOS Wikipedia App in Italy and Mexico on the Italian, Spanish, and English Wikipedias, can see a personalized Year in Review with insights based on their reading and editing history.
- Users of the Android Wikipedia App in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia can see the new Rabbit Holes feature. This feature shows a suggested search term in the Search bar based on the current article being viewed, and a suggested reading list generated from the user’s last two visited articles.
- The global reminder bot is now active and running on nearly 800 wikis. This service reminds most users holding temporary rights when they are about to expire, so that they can renew should they want to. See the technical details page for more information.
- The next issue of Tech News will be sent out on 13 January 2025 because of the end of year holidays. Thank you to all of the translators, and people who submitted content or feedback, this year.
View all 27 community-submitted tasks that were resolved last week. For example, a bug was fixed in the Android Wikipedia App which had caused translatable SVG images to show the wrong language when they were tapped.

- Geschmacksache. Unstrukturiert sieht es am Handy völlig unübersichtlich aus. Empfehlenswert ist ein Template für die Daten, welches zudem mehrsprachig ist. --XRay 💬 20:09, 26 December 2024 (UTC)
- Handy für Wikimedia? Wie bitte? Wer benutzt ein Handy dafür? Habe ich was verpasst? Handy für Wikimedia ist absolut kein Werkzeug, man braucht Bildschirm ab 23 Zoll, je mehr desto besser, und ich habe deine Bilder gesehen, Format 3:2 geht noch, nicht schlecht, sehr gut sogar, aber ich bevorzuge immer 4:3. Geschmacksache schon, aber es muss auch Ordnung sein, weder verschieden noch unterschieden, waagerecht und senkrecht, breit und schmal, cropped, recropped usw., Info über Schiffe muss auch gleich sein, the same, z. - Das Equipment ist unterschiedlich und damit leben wir nun einmal. Da hilft auch keine entrüstete Reaktion. Es wäre vermessen, etwas vorgeben zu wollen. Gutes Webdesign zeichnet sich dadurch aus, mit unterschiedlichen Darstellungen arbeiten zu können. Dafür gibt es unter anderem responsives Design. — Und meine Bilder haben genau das Format, welches ich für das jeweilige Bild für richtig halte. Dies obliegt nun einmal dem Fotografen als Teil des kreativen Prozesses. — Für einheitliches Design empfiehlt sich in vielen Wikimedia-Projekten die Verwendung von Templates. --XRay 💬 20:57, 26 December 2024 (UTC)

- Keine Ahnung. Ältere Templates waren schlecht und Texte, Info über Schiffe senkrecht orientiert, wie manche Fotos oder Videos, noch filmen viele mit Handys senkrecht, als ob sie Außerirdische mit senkrechter Anordnung 2 oder 3 Augen wären. Sogenannte TikToker, also ganz bekloppt. Soll ich mir dann auf dem Monitor oder im Fernseher so was ansehen. Oft sind es wichtige Ereignisse oder Unfälle von Schiffen oder Flugzeugen, aber gefilmt so als durch kleine Spalte, Wahnsinn. Texte über Schiffe gehören zu Wikipedia. Sprachen ausser Englisch in Wikimedia sind unerwünscht, Template Wikidata Infobox gar nicht nötig, Verweis auf Wikidata würde reichen, sonst macht Wikidata in Wikimedia enge Stelle. Minimum Info ähnlich erste Tabelle von Equasis (das gilt auch für Photographer von shipspotting als Vorbild und seit vielen Jahren), weitere Info in Wikipedia und Wikidata. Wikimedia ist für Fotos bestimmt, nicht für Erzählungen. Städte bzw Ports of call für cruise ships werde ich akzeptieren, aber bis 2011 fehlt die Information und was noch schlimmer ist, fehlen die Fotos. Bitte keine neuen Templates für die Schiffe. - @PjotrMahh1: Eine kleine Antwort sei mir noch gegönnt. ;-) Texte bei Wikipedia sind in Ordnung, denn die haben meistens einen zu großen Umfang für Wikimedia Commons. Einen Nachteil haben sie, denn es gibt nicht in jedem Wikipedia eine sprachlich passende Seite. Eine kleine Beschreibung hier bei Commons ist daher nötig - am besten mehrsprachig. Jeder spricht eine andere Sprache, daher nutzen die meisten hier die Babelbausteine auf der User-Page. Commons ist ein mehrsprachiges Projekt und daher werden ja solche Templates wie {{En}}, {{De}} oder {{LangSwitch}} oder {{Mld}} genutzt. Texte ohne diese Templates sollte es besser nicht geben. Das Template {{Ship}} ist eine gute Grundlage für eines, welches die {{Wikidata Infobox}} nicht stört. Es ist vor allem mehrsprachig und nimmt Rücksicht auf die Gestaltung der Seite. Und die {{Wikidata Infobox}} ist als allgemeine Datengrundlage ein wichtiges Element. Eigentlich ist es wenig sinnvoll, Daten die sich strukturieren lassen, als Text-Beschreibung aufzuführen. Das gilt insbesondere bei Objekten wie Schiffen. Die Daten sollten bei Wikidata eingepflegt werden. Ich wünsche einen guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr! --XRay 💬 10:42, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
