- @ Rama. J'avais compris, merci. Je faisais cette remarque parce que de nombreux dépôts sur commons usent de l'explication prétexte "PD in X, Y, Z", pour des œuvres (non domaine public) qui sont sous le régime de la législation française, et pas de X, Y, Z. - Faux. Il n'y a pas de lien vers la source, il y a un lien vers un compte flick où l'on peut trouver la source (j'ai cherché, et je n'ai pas trouvé).
- Donc, selon VIGNERON (administrateur) le nom du photographe (qui est un des droits des auteurs dans la législation française) n'est pas obligatoire (le droit à la paternité de l'œuvre n'est pas respecté). Aucune preuve donc que ledit photographe anonyme a mis son œuvre dans le domaine public. Cela ressemble à du blanchiment d'argent sale : un compte flick aurait mis en ligne une photo désormais introuvable au statut "licence libre" sans le nom du photographe. Un robot a confirmé quel tel jour à telle heure sur ce compte flick était publiée une photo libre de droits.

- Ce cas existe : photos qui ont été supprimées de Flick, et qui sont toujours présentes sur commons (parmi les explications pour les suppressions : problèmes de droit avec le photographe).

- J'ai donc clos en conservation, il ne me semble pas du tout opportun de changer la source, c'est bien sur Flickr que se trouve la photo originelle (en 2848 x 4288 pixels, ce qui est aussi la taille de l'image sur Commons), le site d'Actualitté reprend la photo du compte Flickr d'Actualitté (en 425 × 640 pixels). - Delete - I think PRP applies here. The logo comes from their media kit, which is now here, but there doesn't appear to be anything that clearly asserts either a copyright or a free release, and I think the assumption is that media kits are to be used for media reports only, not other uses. This graphical image is incorrect, impossible to read because of fuzziness and inconsistent font use, and is in not currently in use, nor potentially usable for any Wikipedia article. It was intended for use in this article, Geometry of roots of real polynomials but was replaced by an accurate image whose resolution quality was much better. - Hmmm - This is confusing, but on the Archive's official website, they say one thing, and on Flickr, they say another. They offer plenty of images on their official page as public domain, so I don't think it looks like a case of suddenly deciding that everything actually isn't PD after all. Either the Archief were careless with uploading to Flickr, or they have since realised that the images weren't PD (or at least had copyright restrictions....) - it's an important point though. Given that the National Archief are making a clear (and it seems, ongoing) effort to indicate which files are free to use on their official website, rather than imposing arbitrary blanket copyright claims on everything, presumably they have since discovered that there are copyright restrictions applying to this (and other files from the same shoot). As they presumably didn't take the image themselves, I think there's a case to argue that they made an error of judgement, and while they did address the issue on the official website, they haven't done so on their Flickr (or perhaps didn't realise about Flickr). If they had taken the image themselves and released it, then there would be a strong case to keep. I'd like it to be kept, but I think we need to clarify - this is a case where a (presumably) third-party holder appears to have amended the clearances of an image they possess, when further information came to light. - Keep. This site sources it from the Signal Corps of the U.S. Army. Also, remember that Time-Life published US Army photos and that the Time-Life collection includes US Army photos. Just because a photo is collected in a collection doesn't mean it wasn't created by someone else. If you read carefully the link you posted, you can see that it acknowledges that this photo is from the US Signal Corps, although this information is cleverly camouflaged in a line. Hallo Tohma, grundsätzlich besteht ein Urheberrecht bis zu 70 Jahren nach dem Tod des Urhebers. Aimee Köster (geboren 1869 - gestorben 1934), die Autorin des oben links auf dem Titelbild der Graswurzelrevolution Nr. 392 teilweise dokumentierten "Nie wieder Krieg!"-Artikels (Erstveröffentlichung: 1924) kann wohl kaum ihr Einverständnis geben, mehr als 80 Jahre nach ihrem Tod. Der Artikel ist schon lange frei. Und das ist auch gut so. Ich bin Urheber des Artikels/Interviews "25 Jahre unrast", das unten rechts auf dem Graswurzelrevolution Nr. 392-Cover anfängt. Das Foto (oben rechts) wurde der Graswurzelrevolution-Redaktion vom Fotografen Jens Volle für die Graswurzelrevolution Nr. 392 überlassen, der Cartoon unten rechts stammt vom Graswurzelrevolution-"Hauszeichner" Findus und wurde extra für die Graswurzelrevolution Nr. 392 gemacht. - The unknown author released the photo into the public domain, at least according to Radio Courtoisie, which means they give up all rights to benefit from it. If we're not sure if that's correct, it's always possible to contact them and ask where they got the photo from. clpo13(talk) 19:23, 15 August 2016 (UTC)

- @clpo13 In France, where this image was in all likelyhood taken and published, it is possible to relinquish the venal rights (i.e. rights to earn money) but not the moral rights (i.e. you remain the author of the image and associated to it).

- Keep I am not sure that the "unseriousness" is so blatant. On the "trombinoscope" page, when the license is not known, it is clearly stated. This is an odd situation. It's likely the image itself is old enough to be retained, however it's obviously not own work of the uploader. - Keep - The image is sprinkled about hundreds of chinese web sites. Since the mural was created around 1100 (hence PD-China), a faithful reproduction of a two-dimensional work should not cause any copyright issues, even if it would be nice to have a source to cite. [edit]This photos were taken by the official photographers of the events (2006 and 2010) of the Hungarian Socialist Party (for more see: previous discussions) - on Picasa used Tibor Végh (he can be seen in the pictures which are not been cutted) wrong licenses for.

COM:PRP - The image in the source is actually this, which is cropped as compared to the uploaded file. Image searches for the full image seem to be turning up Corbis/Getty and Amanaimages as sources, not PD sites. This could be a Time-Life photo, and thus still copyright. Author plus 70 can't be claimed if we don't know who the author is. MSJapan (talk) 23:57, 15 August 2016 (UTC)
- By the way, although this is not a Time or LIfe photo, please note that Time and Life photos from that era can't be automatically assumed to be under copyright. The copyright was not renewed on some issues of Time in 1939 and 1945. See Template:PD-US-not renewed-TIME. The copyright was not renewed on issues of Life between 1944 and mid-1946. The respective copyright status of the photographs can also depend on their source. The magazines published photographs from their staff photographers, from press agencies, from the U.S. government. -- Asclepias (talk) 13:47, 16 August 2016 (UTC)
- Comment: It's originally a United Press International color photograph from 1943 [2]. Many press agencies did not renew the copyrights of their photos from that era. For some agencies, no renewals were ever found, so their photos are practically acceptable automatically. Don't know about UPI specifically. When in doubt about an agency or a particular photgraph, the copyright renewal catalogs should be checked before making a deletion request. Didn't find renewals by UPI for 1971 [3] [4].
