Keep Bundesarchiv believe they have rights to release the low resolution versions of the images - Just like with most other established institutions we trust their judgment on this matter. Summary
[edit]I came across Wenoby's uploads when I processed the speedy deletion of File:Faro La Serena 2008.jpg which was copied from Flickr. When I subsequently went through the uploads I found one of the typical signs of someone claiming other works as their own: widely different camera models (see listing above). Given that one of the {{Own}} claims as already been proven wrong and the diversity of the EXIF data, I suggest to delete the whole set. But I want to give Wenoby the opportunity to comment and, as some of these images are widely used, the community the opportunity to look for replacements. --AFBorchert (talk) 08:23, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
- Comment: See also COM:AN/U#Copyvios and sockpuppets of Wenoby/Whenoby. --AFBorchert (talk) 10:27, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

Don't we have enough of these? How many images of a woman sucking penis do we need to illustrate a concept? IMO, this low quality (and resolution) image does not sufficiently meet our guidelines of being a serious database of free knowledge to warrant inclusion. Blurpeace 19:33, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- Delete Low res and just another pornographic image. fetchcomms☛ 19:36, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- Keep, in answer to the (seemingly rhetorical) question of "Don't we have enough of these images", we seem to have a total of five photographs of fellatio, of which there are three that are useful and illustrate unique positions/situations. This one illustrates oral sex, but without the whole passive object (penis) hidden by the active object (mouth) - so it seems it does fit a useful niche. Max Rebo Band"almost suspiciously excellent" 04:02, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
- Keep Not the most brilliant of photographs perhaps, but it's being used on two sister projects (da., eo.) and therefore is within project scope. Anatiomaros (talk) 23:06, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
- Comment, Max Rebo Band just added those images – check the pages' histories. I could easily revert and use a higher quality photo available. Blurpeace 18:34, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for that information Blurpeace; I'll remember to do so next time. Have you a particular image in mind? Regarding the retention of this image, I feel it's becoming increasingly difficult in the current climate for editors to support our hosting "pornographic" images of any description, regardless of quality, without being accused of wanting to see Commons becoming a "porn host". That is sad and a bit scary. If we had a decent and varied selection of images in this category I'd have no problem with deleting an image of borderline quality, but I don't think that is the case here. I certainly don't want to see Commons "flooded with porn" though. Problem is we have no clear guidelines as to what constitutes an acceptable range of images and probably never will have: I usually categorise such exciting things as fields, buildings and roads (e.g. GeographPtoject) and nobody has ever argued for deleting our thousands of files of farm gates in Britain, even though the image quality of many of them is poor and they illustrate pretty much the same thing. But hey, that's life... Anatiomaros (talk) 22:56, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- Siilar to what Anatiomaros is saying, I am not sure which "higher quality photograph" you could replace the image with - as mentioned, it seems to be the only illustration of fellatio that doesn't obscure the penis. Max Rebo Band"almost suspiciously excellent" 03:17, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
- Comment, Max Rebo Band just added those images – check the pages' histories. I could easily revert and use a higher quality photo available. Blurpeace 18:34, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

- Could you be more specific, other than "it depicts something I find sexually arousing"? Because we have 250 photographs of bare feet, which I find sexually arousing, and this is the only clear photograph of fellatio, as mentioned above. Max Rebo Band"almost suspiciously excellent" 01:50, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
- It's a poor image in many respects. Most of the penis is in fact obscured, by the woman's hand. In fact, nothing of the man can be seen, except for one half-inch of his penis. The woman herself has been clumsily "cut out", as though with scissors, and dropped onto a white background -- presumably because the original background was distracting. This is an amateur porn shot (Description: "sucking last drops"), and I resent the po-faced argument that this should in fact be an image created for an educational purpose, or one that would really be suited for fulfilling one. The argument that images of fellatio are just like images of farm gates is remote from real world attitudes. By all means, let's have images of fellatio, images that are technically accomplished and have an educational and aesthetic value, but let's not collect tacky images of the act which do the whole idea of illustrating such subjects for an educational purpose a disservice. Okay? --JN466 05:52, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

- Keep It's in use now; whatever you might way about how it was put there, it's been in use for a couple weeks on some of these WPs and no one has removed it from the page. And we have six photos of fellatio and this is from a different angle from any of the other ones.--Prosfilaes (talk) 13:25, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
- The principle of "silence is consensus" on smaller projects is moot. I could easily go in, switch the photos, and nobody on the local project would know. They probably don't even know this deletion request is happening. Blurpeace 07:31, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
- Images get deleted from en.Wiki all the time without anyone knowing the deletion request is happening. In this case, we have images on multiple WPs being changed for weeks, and not on tiny WPs; if it is at all possible for them to deal with vandalism, then at the very least some patroller has looked at it.--Prosfilaes (talk) 10:37, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
- Delete Fellation-spam makes it not better in any respect. I think more and more people realize that you can abouse commons as data storage for private pics and crap. --Yikrazuul (talk) 11:42, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- Says someone spamming Commons with stuff like File:Kadethrin.svg, which looks practically the same as File:Imidacloprid.svg; do we really need 100 chemical diagrams for insecticides alone? And if we do, how can you complain about six pictures of fellatio?--Prosfilaes (talk) 14:25, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- The truth is that some people find that even one picture is one too many. I was going to ignore JN466's comment (above) - "The argument that images of fellatio are just like images of farm gates is remote from real world attitudes" - as I was not implying anything of the sort, pretty obviously, but I'll bring it in here now as it in itself sums up a certain attitude where "real world attitudes" actually means "my point of view". We do not have an effective "cap" or limit on the images in any particular category and nobody ever complains that we have too many images unless the subject is related to sex and sexuality. As Prosfilaes notes, we only have 6 images here not thousands. And just where are we supposed to get the "images that are technically accomplished and have an educational and aesthetic value"? It would be great to have them but where are they? Are we supposed to get rid of every image that does not meet those requirements - which are themselves open to debate, of course - in the meantime? If amateur sexual images by private individuals are "spam" how are we supposed to find professional ones that are not copright violations? With respect, this whole line of argument is disingenuous and unhelpful. Anatiomaros (talk) 15:37, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

- Comment I copied this image over from EnWiki because a) Thehelpinghand (talk · contribs) asked for that, b) it was much easier for me to move it over than to explain how (commons helper, etc), c) I checked and believe from the copyright tags on EnWiki that it was an appropriate candidate for such a move (as it is derived from an appropriately licenced image, and the status of the copyright seemed in order, etc). I choose not to offer an opinion as to its appropriateness within scope; I will leave that to others to discuss. I have notified the user of this discussion. Chzz ► 01:36, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

Files by User:Sefer ibrahim
[edit]I feel that the most of (if not all) uploads by User:Sefer ibrahim are copyvios, collected from all around the Web. EXIF shows that several dozens of different cameras was used - it's a very clear sign of copyvio. Generally it's easy to find the exact source of borrowing, for many uploads it's a random photostream on Panoramio. Also the several copyrighted book scans have been uploaded. Many uploads by Sefer ibrahim already have been deleted as copyvio, see their talk page. Trycatch (talk) 15:50, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

Discussion
[edit]- Delete User obviously not complies with our requirements and claims credit for other peoples work. Unless the user gives a reasonable explanation: Delete all, not have the time nor the interest to review all contributions individually and demonstrate that they are copyright violations. - Delete. Well done Martin - Sherlock Holmes rests :). Anyway, I am sorry for the photos - some of them are really nice.--George M. (talk) 12:19, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
- Delete. Extra information for users without admin rights: Two days ago I've deleted files that Martin H. had tagged as he had found them at panoramio. A quick check of his last edits showed that Sefer had seen those tags and removed them in several cases (e.g. File:Khachen style albanian cross stones in Khudavang albanian monastery.jpg) or recreated the files in case they were deleted already (e.g. File:Caucasian Albanian Artsak cross stone.jpg). -- Cecil (talk) 14:09, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
- Comment Uploader wrote on Martin H.s talk page that he will provide a list of the images that are his own. He now provided this list with images he claims as his own, but among them once again there are several copyvios like File:Berde Imamzadeh mosque.jpg, a file that is not in this list because he had uploaded it at his home wiki and somebody else had transferred it. Well, it was taken from the website of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan. Furthermore the list of his supposed own images contains once again images from other panoramio-users (see Martins statement below the list). Sorry, but even if the user now brings a second list of images that he claims are his own, I would not believe him anymore. -- Cecil (talk) 18:07, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- The conversation between Sefer ibrahim and Martin H. is slightly messed up. First edit by Sefer ibrahim (first list of the really own work images), response by Martin H., response by Sefer ibrahim (second list of the really own work images). While the first contains copyvios without any doubt, I am still not sure about the second list. Trycatch (talk) 21:44, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- To the second list: I am not sure how good pictures you can make with a phone but the quality of the second list ranges from IMO too good for phones quality to 'looks like a scan from a book' (e.g. File:Cugha style albanian cross stones.jpg has a grey border on the left and then the colours; File:Bakı qalası gecə.jpg has a wave in the middle as if it was spread over two book pages and was not flattened enough; Cəbrayılda Qız qalası.jpg has a border at the bottom; File:Gədəbəydə Koroğlu qalası.jpg has the book-binding-shadow and looks as if the scanner was stuck). -- Cecil (talk) 08:31, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for linking, Trycatch. I would delay the 21 images of the second listing for the moment. But Im also not sure about the second listing too and share the doubt Cecil just explained. Maybe own "photo" - but only a derivative work of another photographers photo, so still not free. --Martin H. (talk) 17:09, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
- A little addition: File:Albanian idols in the garden of Azerbaijan State Khankendi city History Museums garden.jpg is a blatant copyvio from http://www.panoramio.com/photo/34310127. It is retouched but it is the same, stones are not moving, but have a look at the cars and plants. Note that the EXIF is changed - the original EXIF is Canon PowerShot G11, this file is 'Nokia', likely a Nokia software was used to retouch the file. Now that we found this out and do our best here on Commons to have this mess removed from our project the user not eventually stopped uploading non-free files and not do his best to finally comply with the rules - no, he repeats the upload at az.wikipedia az:Şəkil:Albanian idol in the garden of Azerbaijan State Khankendi city History Museums garden.jpg! Same for various other files. I stop assuming good faith at this moment, this user is simply not able to comply with our project(s). Delete all files, here on Commons and on az.wp (otherwise we will have the same problem again sooner or later). --Martin H. (talk) 17:42, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
- I've asked Sefer ibrahim (thanks to İrada for translation) about these images. Sefer ibrahim answered that these pictures are indeed scans, he didn't knew that scans should not be uploaded, and asks for their deletion. What about Nokia 6120c photographs (with original cam EXIF), I tend to believe to the user -- he uploaded numerous files created with this cam to az-wiki, often with a little time span between creation and uploading (w:az:Şəkil:Shirvanshahs palace 1.jpg, w:az:Şəkil:Gədəbəy 1.jpg, etc.). Interesting enough, his own photographs are watermarked "by Sefer Azeri" as opposed to all his other uploads. Trycatch (talk) 18:59, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
- Great! Would he reupload them w/o the watermark? Dr Bug (Vladimir V. Medeyko) 21:38, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
- I don't know. Files with this watermark have been uploaded to az-wiki only, not to Commons. If some of these files will be uploaded to Commons, it will be easy to crop watermark out. Trycatch (talk) 09:54, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

- Be free to delete, even speedy. The file is no longer needed. I myself had already requested speedy deletion of the identical file in german language wikipedia in May, but had not been aware, that the file on commons was not deleted. [5]. Greetings, --Latschari (talk) 16:26, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
Deleted by Túrelio: see Commons:Deletion requests/File:Guggenmusik.ogg. Uploader requesting deletion as well. --JuTa (talk) 02:38, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
Не верное написание. Сверьте со статьей про Цоя в корейской Википедии. Там написано 최 и это типичная корейская фамилия. An7on1vanov (talk) 13:24, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
- Keep What I get from Google Translate is "Do not correct spelling. Check the article about Choi in Korean Wikipedia. It says 최 and this is a typical Korean name." No reason to delete. -- King of Hearts (talk) 22:48, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
Incorrect spelling. Korean Wikipedia article gives only transcription of name from Russian, but original korean name is 최 and this is how Koreans pronounce it.
Kept, unclear deletion request. Kameraad Pjotr 20:42, 28 December 2010 (UTC)

- Comment - Admittedly not the best, but definitely usable IMO, for flying, plane engines, island, I don't know, I would say weak keep. - Theornamentalist (talk) 02:56, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
Deleted, out of project scope. Kameraad Pjotr 21:54, 1 January 2011 (UTC)
the uploader himself wanted this image to be deleted (see previous deletion debate). Nothing is known about this image. Saibo (Δ) 20:31, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
- Info Uploader's deletion request was not related to copyright problems, he requested deletion of his entire upload because of conflict on Polish Wikipedia. A.J. (talk) 12:40, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
Deleted, without a source the public domain status cannot be verified. Kameraad Pjotr 20:29, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
I want to update a larger picture Jamie2k9 (talk) 20:45, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
- Delete larger image updated, I assume he wants to remove the much smaller previous image. - Theornamentalist (talk) 02:53, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- Comment: Nominator wants to Keep this file, but remove the first revision? Or delete both versions, large and small? Benchill (talk) 03:58, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- I think it is likely the smaller one, but I've sent them a message asking. - Theornamentalist (talk) 12:06, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- Keep the file looks fine, I think the deletion request has been abandoned. Nominator can say "withdrawn" if they want to end this disussion and keep the file. Benchill (talk) 01:23, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- Keep a new high-resolution version has been uploaded. MKFI (talk) 22:12, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
Kept, larger version has been uploaded. Kameraad Pjotr 22:08, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
Own work from 1931. The author should be now min. 95+ years. should be confirmed through commons:OTRS/de. JuTa (talk) 09:38, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
- Keep - source is the family archive. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 15:17, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
Deleted, lacks suitable permission. Kameraad Pjotr 19:24, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
unknown author and license does not fit together. Max. Pd-old-100 could fit, but in 1909 the "object" (de:Otto Keller (Schriftsteller)) was 34 years old. Does this realy fit to the image? JuTa (talk) 09:49, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
- Obviously there was a mistake when transferring the image automatically by CommonsHelper. It seems that it actually was uploaded under a PD license to German Wikipedia before being transferred to the Alemannic one, but the license isn't due to the fact that it's older than 100 years. What would be the correct license in this case? --Strommops ð 13:28, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
- The license was the same on de: (I'm admin on de:) and the file was marked "DÜP" (Dateiprüfung) - more or less the de: equivanlent to a deletion request on commons. (That was the reason why I removed the file on de: and opened this request on commons) --JuTa (talk) 20:41, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
- Keep with {{PD-EU-no author disclosure}}. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 15:31, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
Deleted, no author, no source. Kameraad Pjotr 19:33, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
"The following images may be used by media, individuals, schools and other organisations free-of-charge." is not free enough for Commons. It does not mention derivative works or free commercial use by anyone. The website quoted as a source for this permission clearly says "Hi-res video and photographs of Earthrace are for news networks only." and "Footage and photographs cannot be resold to other news companies or reproduced in any way for other purposes." -- Kam Solusar (talk) 23:16, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
- Keep I'm not sure how you can get any more free than "and other organisations free-of-charge." That seems to leave it wide-open. As I indicated at File talk:PeterBethune with Earthrace.JPG, the "freeness" of this image was discussed at en:File talk:PeterBethune with Earthrace.JPG before uploading here. I also indicated that the licensing page has changed since the image was first uploaded (possibly because it could only be viewed by some browsers) and archive.org doesn't have any post 2008 copies of the page. The image is not shown on the current web site so the current license does not apply to it. It was free when it was uploaded, this was confirmed in the discussion at en:File talk:PeterBethune with Earthrace.JPG, (that's why it was uploaded here) and there is no proof that it's not free any more. --AussieLegend (talk) 08:15, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

- Whoops, looks like someone deleted the discussion at File talk:PeterBethune with Earthrace.JPG! That's odd....
