I saw that you suppressed Category:Arctictis which was a redirect to Category:Arctictis binturong. I don't understand the reason for that.

universal replace

Hi Siebrand. I'd like to invite you to visit Template_talk:Bad_name#CommonsDelinker_commands and assure us that including an ifexist check in Universal replace (to make it work whether the image namespace prefix is given or not) would not make CommonsDelinker break, if that's the case. Moving category "Radio Receivers" to "Radio recievers"

Pardon me if I bug the wrong person, but somebody ordered Siebot to move category "Radio Receivers" to "Radio recievers". Somebody didn't check their spelling or is something else going on? Regards, adamantios (talk) 16:51, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

SieBot edit summary

Hi Siebrand. For informational purposes only: the edit summary is wrong at this edit. --Martin H. (talk) 13:07, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

This is still going on as of 16:50, August 19, and I consider it a serious bug. Note [1], which says "Robot: Moving category Road signs of Germany to Diagrams of road signs of Germany", but is actually moving Category:Free screenshot to Category:Free screenshots. Superm401 - Talk 01:52, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
It is a threading issue in pywikipediabot. It does however not lead to any known edit errors. It should be resolved once the pywikipediabot rewrite is done, and the framework is thread safe. Cheers! Siebrand 07:10, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
I guess that if you would insert a small delay after each move request, the problem would disappear (the problem appears only on the boundary between two move commands). --Foroa (talk) 08:28, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
In the last move batch, I inserted a blank line between two commands and the problem did not occur. Might be coincidence though. --Foroa (talk) 08:47, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
There is a 45 second delay between each request. If it cannot process within that time, this issue occurs. Siebrand 18:52, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

CommonsDelinker and svg replacements

Just remembered the old discussion about one of exceptions for the replacement of raster images with vector images. Is the toolserver healthy enough for this now? /Lokal_Profil 01:05, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

I guess it is. I'll have to ask Bryan how to insert these, and I will take care of the in the coming week. Btw, you can have SVG relaced by SVG, just nothing from bitmap grapics to SVG. So we are only talking 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, and 2.6 on [User:Lokal Profil/hitlists/Maps of Russia, right? Cheers! Siebrand 12:49, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Oh, I'd completely forgotten about the Russia map hitlist. The hitlist I was thinking about was actually User:Lokal Profil/hitlists/Vector-images.com where there are copyrighted raster images to be replaced by free vector images. For the russian map list I'd first need to review the page to make sure no updates have occured since I created it. /Lokal_Profil 13:40, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Oh :) In any case, I would be most happy getting a list from you in csv format with the following entries for each row: old_image;new_image;reason. Cheers! Siebrand 13:48, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Is User talk:Lokal Profil/hitlists/Vector-images.com ok? /Lokal_Profil 15:07, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Excellent. Siebrand 15:16, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Give me a shout when it's done. Compiling a second batch right now but will leave the csv list unmodified in case it's in use. BTW will the process add the Universally replaced tag to the images even though we are bypassing User:CommonsDelinker/commands? /Lokal_Profil 00:25, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. About {ur}: yes, I think it should. It does not know how a replace was queued. The 'block' in putting vector graphics in place of bitmap grapics is in the reading of the wiki page, and I am simply bypassing that now. Siebrand 07:56, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Questions SieBot Moves

Siebrand, your bot is doing great work. I have a couple of questions.

I noticed that you can use the move from a non-created category to an existing category which is great. The question is concerning the move to a non existing category. Would it be possible that the bot, when moving to a non-existing category that it moves the content of the source category and put it in the newly created category ? (executing in fact an almost complete rename)
We have thousands of images referring to categories in Chinese, russian, Japanse, Indian, ... Can we issue a category remove or "move to non" request ? Thank you. --Foroa (talk) 09:40, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Yep. I can 'clean' categories. Please give me links to pages containing lists (either wiki linked or plain text, one category per line). Siebrand 13:12, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
I think I may have misread the question. Let me reply with a question to get things clear. Which of the following use cases would you like me to perform?
 1. Move the contents of category A to category B, where B does not yet exist
 2. Remove the category tag from all objects currently in category B
Please let me know. I'll respond with how we can arrange that. Cheers! Siebrand 13:14, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
We need both. The basic question is if this can be added to the current SieBot move functionality. --Foroa (talk) 13:40, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Scenario 1 is a basic scenario on User:CommonsDelinker/commands, so no need to do anything there. Non-sysops can request moves on the talk page. For scenario 2 you can ask me here, but please link to a list of categories, and do not place lists of categories here. Siebrand 13:46, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Indeed, scenario 1 is the basic operational mode as I just tried it. I did not want to try it before asking. Great. I updated the documentation.
Scenario 2, removing cats (for example emptying a category in chinese, russian and so on): What if I leave the destination cat empty in the cat move command ? --Foroa (talk) 15:24, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
I'd rather not allow that (the "leave destination empty" suggestion). "Destroying content", as this is how this can be preceived, should be done with care, so I'd rather execute this type of commands manually. Cheers! Siebrand 15:33, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
I understand. No real problem. --Foroa (talk) 15:38, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

User:Wikimedia Commons Welcome

Over there could use a comment or something. Thanks.  — Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 01:26, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Be my guest. If you think blocking an extension helps, by all means. I think subst:-ing welcome is a waste of resources. Siebrand 13:05, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
I'm not suggesting it should be blocked, Rocket is. Substituting the template is standard practise for good reason (and I don't see how it would be a waste of resources - on the contrary, it keeps inclusions low so when the template is edited the job queue doesn't explode). Furthermore (and this is the main problem), the edits do not appear to be marked as bot. Thanks for your assistance.  — Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 18:25, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
If you don't want to subst, fine. I'll do it. But please address the other concerns about it not being marked as bot and possibly not activating the orange bar. Thanks. Rocket000(talk) 19:11, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
P.S. It's sad that a bot can't even add five extra characters when humans don't seem to have any issue with it. A waste of resources is having two bots run, one to paste a template and one to substitute it. Rocket000(talk) 19:14, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
The marking is most probably a typo in the Wikimedia configuration. I'll see if I can find someone on IRC to fix it. Siebrand 20:04, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Fy:

User_talk:Siebrand/Archive11#Fy:

It's rather curious that your were unable to verify that at the time, as obviously when I wrote that, only a minute earlier, I was still able to determine that the images clearly did not depict the same scene. However, while my point was that that explanation you now tried to give was what should have been on the original edit(!), I don't mind giving you what information is still available to me so you can work it out for yourself (and prove that explanation wrong):

 • This is the caption on fy:, still there because of the claim that the picture was equivalent:

"Eastenrykske en Hongaarske finzenen fan de oarloch yn Ruslân, 1915"; translating to: "Austrian and Hongarian prisoners of the war in Rusland, 1915".

"TITLE TRANSLATION: Austrian prisoners of war near a barrack, [Karelia] CREATED/PUBLISHED: [1915]".

Now, you work out whether the new image invalidates the caption. "Cheers!" Aliter (talk) 17:45, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

CommonsDelinker misbehaving at en:wiki

Why did the bot delete an image from this page with a spuriour reason given. The image has not been deleted from Commons, there are no log entries and no discussions about deleting it. __meco (talk) 08:12, 26 August 2008 (UTC

Interesting. I honestly have no idea. CommonsDelinker is not known for making things up, and it is almost impossible to fool it. The only thing I can imagine is that something went wrong in a query it makes to find out which media have been deleted, but there we have the same thing: no delinks if media are still present. I'll ask Bryan. Siebrand 08:28, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
Sorry if I'm not minding my own business, but the image CommonsDelinker removed was in fact deleted from Commons. The current image has a capital "R" in the name, it's a different file. Patrícia msg 16:01, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Flora of categories vs Plants of categories

The Flora of categories belong to a different tree. Those all end at an Category:Ecozones. Will it be possible to undo those category changes? I put a lot of work into them and well, there were a lot of problems with the Plants of categories -- like states in the United States which had no plants (even after all of that time spent and supermanagement of those Plant categories). Poor Rhode Island, here at commons with no plants!! The Flora of categories were made with different land divisions at the end, divisions chosen by people who are more interested in the enviromental conditions than the political "things". Please, please, undo that merge -- they should be merged the other way or left separate!!! -- carol (talk) 17:55, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Also "Flora of" is native plants (the subcategorization is at least). I have no idea what the plants of people were doing other than super strong handed management but those categories are not full of native plants. Three main ways a plant exists, Native, Introduced (for plants that grow and spread on their own) and "cultivated". The differences between these three are kind of important to adaptive evolution studies. Okay, the physicist and mathematician in me has some strong doubts about the way they define these things. If some seeds are on your coat (in this case cloth or leather over coat, I assume) and drop onto the ground and grow, it is an introduced species. However, if you are a bird and eat the seeds on one island and "plant" the seeds on another island, that species is "native". Heh. That being said, it is the biologists science and I have been really careful inspite of my doubts of their definitions when making these new categories. To merge them is not good. -- carol (talk) 18:04, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
Wrong desk: [3]. Cheers! Siebrand 19:33, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
Interesting. I did ask for several categories that were made in 2006 and less than half made (alphabetically they did not get past C, so arguably 1/8 a project that had been abandoned) without talking about it with the creators of them. Those creators seemed to have opted to talk around the mess and not about the mess. This situation is hardly like that. Thanks for the link. -- carol (talk) 05:57, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Known issue with too much to do (multiple large categories) and slow editing. Can only fix LATER, when the pywikipediabot framework is thread safe. No wrong content edits occur. Siebrand 15:35, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

The other bot that renames redirected categories will not make the same error as it does not document it in its edit summary. I prefer a clear edit summary that is faulty from time to time then an edit summury that is correct but contains no information. --Foroa (talk) 20:06, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Removal images Softwell Maker

Hi Siebrand, I have a doubt. Cant I publish a screen shot for proprietary software. If proprietary software all imagens from, become a copyrighted material?. If y, I will get some pictures from the company Website. Regards, Ortegassa (talk) 17:13, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Commons allows only media with a free license. If the screenshots get a free license from the software manufacturer/copyright owner, they are allowed. If they do not have a free license, they are not. If the software is proprietary is not relevant; the license is relevant. Siebrand 09:49, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

two things

Will you write my bot? Commons:COMBotBot, it should create and make uniform genus categories for all named genera so that hotcat.js and kin will have a place to put plant images when they arrive and if the uploader is more thorough than that, it should also put the instructions of how to paste the template to make a uniform species category for the image if that doesn't exist already.

I made a python template for it and I can actually write (in python) the different search and destroy or search and add parts of it but the wiki-stuff that goes in between the python stuff doesn't sound like that much fun to learn, to me. It doesn't need to be written in python.

I really dislike how much the phrase "the assumption of good faith" is being used around here lately -- when it wasn't being used it seemed to just exist. That being said the bot should have the assumption of an upload....

The second thing is a question. If I tell you that there are several ways to divide a sphere, would you have difficulty in understanding that and in knowing that different divisions of any geometric object are interesting to people for different reasons? -- carol (talk) 06:15, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

I can't write bots... Yes. Siebrand 09:47, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
Wow, that is interesting about not writing bots and that you can understand different ways to divide a sphere is refreshing. About the interesting though, was Siebot written to emulate you then? -- carol (talk) 09:59, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
Are you more of an "author of software" perhaps? -- carol (talk) 10:31, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

hello again Siebot owner

Could you make it so that Siebot and everyone else knows what the categories for "Plants of" are supposed to contain before there is a merger between "Flora of" categories and "Plants of" categories?

It is true, I requested that several categories that had been made early in 2007 and in 2006 be emptied into their parent categories. There was however a one to one relationship between them. And the categories ceased alphabetically before the C's had been completed. The merger that is occuring right now is from a very mature tree into a not yet completed tree (see my problem with Rhode Island, for instance) and the relationship between them is not one to one, for example, there is no "Flora of Mexico" as there is a "Plants of Mexico" due the fact that one is a politically divided tree and the other is environmentally divided.

In math class, before graduation (junior high maybe, high school definitely), we had to learn the simple things of set theory and one of those things was one to one relationships. That exists when one member of a set has an exact relationship with another member of a set and no others. This plants merging with flora thing is not one to one.
The User Siebrand is being presented as a person who authored a software that functions here yet my questions have been answered by someone who hasn't written a software to function like Siebot is. Can the author take the wheel for a while? -- carol (talk) 15:13, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

For instance, perhaps an investigation could be made into the reason that there was no Plants of Rhode Island when I was looking at that earlier (like in June, I think) this year. There are many things like that which leave me confused about what the contents of the "Plants of" categories are. Especially as I am certain that these categories are very clearly defined somewhere due to the attention that has been spent on their maintenance for years.

Once again, it is a pleasure working on your wiki here and one day, perhaps you will be able to author software even!! -- carol (talk) 14:34, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Could you make it so that Siebot and everyone else knows what the categories for "Plants of" are supposed to contain before there is a merger between "Flora of" categories and "Plants of" categories: how do you propose that is done?
Can the author take the wheel for a while?: I do not know what you are implying. Can you please elaborate? Cheers! Siebrand 16:35, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Siebot has the appearance of being well written software but here you said that you do not author software and did not author the bot. There are some technically simple ideas that supercede so many of the fuzzy and needlessly complicated ideas which I would like to express and I honestly believe that discussing this with the author of the software should be no problem. It has nothing to do with more than that and I am a software writer who could probably "fix scripts" and I am not a joke (or I shouldn't have been one) so this should not be perceived as a put down or a knock down but the simplicity of what I have been trying to say.... So few things are black, white and gray that when there is something that is like that, it should be allowed to be that. -- carol (talk) 16:49, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

moving categories

Is moving a bunch of abandoned categories (1/12th made systems abandoned for at least a year) the same thing as moving mature categories that are mostly finished?

Should I take a poll of everyone I saw in the edit history of those plant categories that I requested be moved a few weeks ago and see if they have a complaint or had plans for them? -- carol (talk) 20:05, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

I am not a big fan of polls. Siebrand 08:44, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Me either! The categories I moved seemed to be being talked around and never about and no one came to say anything after they were moved. I know not to expect a thank you the same way that I know to expect a "please stop" along with some probably logical information about the reasons to stop (if that person is given a chance to settle down after such a surprise as that could be). I don't vote much here, either. There are a lot of things being voted on all the time that I have not enough understanding of to make a good vote for.
Good answer. -- carol (talk) 11:59, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

bot service request

Hi there,

i'd like a bot to perform a repetitive task. I see that you are in charge of User:CommonsDelinker, and i can't figure out how to put my request there, so here goes: i'd like all the "Image:Wuest Tarock *" that belong to both Category:Playing cards and Category:Tarot cards be removed from the "Playing cards" category, in order to unclutter it, since "Tarot cards" is a sub-cat of "Playing cards". I've already done a bunch of'em manually, but i'm getting tired and that's obviously a job for a bot.
Thanks in advance? --Jerome Charles Potts (talk) 07:20, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

You should enable Cat-a-lot and HotCat in your preferences. With a good tabbed browser, you'll be able to get those done nearly as fast as a bot. Rocket000(talk) 07:25, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for getting it done, and for the tip. --Jerome Charles Potts (talk) 15:11, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Plants of Greenland -> Flora of Greenland

Hello Siebrand, My watchlist just got some +100 entries due to a change from Category:Plants of Greenland to Category:Flora of Greenland on images I have uploaded. I tried to look for the comaand which had led to the move, but I failed to find it. Could you provide me with a link to the edit, which has caused the bot to do these moves. It seems like I have missed an important discussion about naming conventions, or that someone has issued move commands which should not have been done. I have a similar question about moving Category:plants of Catalonia to Category:Flora of Catalonia. Where is the discussion of these moves? Who should I ask?--Pere prlpz (talk) 16:58, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Yes, why has the move been done? Who has requested it? Where has the discussion taken place? Although I agree it does not make sense to have both categories, it is not clear for me, why the "Flora of..." category should prevail. In the case I mentioned, a well-ordered and consistent category was emptied into a catogory which was basically empty expect for the association of a few species. In a multilingual environment "Plants of.." may be better understood by the majority of users. Also, there is a Category:Plants by country but no Category:Flora by country. For reference I quote the most recent discussion about this topic, which I am aware of: User talk:Foroa#Flora of categories vs Plants of categories, and there are more references in that thread to previous thoughts about this. It is not that simple... I request these moves undone until there is a clear community consensus on this. -- Slaunger (talk) 19:24, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
It has been my experience (from about November 2007 thru perhaps June 2008) that images were strictly not allowed in some but not all of the "Plants of" categories. Any image or subcategory placed within some of those categories would be disembled, or uncategorized and the contents put into a gallery and in that way going into the "Plants of" categories. There seems to be a backlog of conversations of people being angry that their images were managed that way that suggests that the activity had been going on for years. This was only in some of the "Plants of" categories, however. Through my observation and a little reading, it has been very difficult to determine what is the criteria for these categories and as I mentioned earlier that while the tree exists for years there were some gaps in that some areas did not have one. What comes to mind right away are states of United States. I haven't been able to determine what the criteria is for the "Plants of" categories, actually, and requests for information about it seem to trigger aggressive bot moves or dramatic human disembling categories and well, things seem kind of sad about this. Perhaps if those "Plants of" categories get maintained the same way for a few years more, the maintainers of them will be able to articulate what it is that they are exactly without the whatevers that occur now when asked.
Flora of have image map navigation, it is cool and it is also useful (or would have been back when I was researching plants and where they were native to). I think it would have been really something if I had come here looking for images and found all of that. I can honestly say that while making the navigation and putting all those areas together, I am even more interested in seeing the rest of this world -- it seems beautiful to look at when I started to look at it in larger chunks that then got a little smaller. -- carol 20:03, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Category:Flora of Greenland has no image map navigation. You have to go two levels up in the Flora of ecozone hierarchy until you find a clickable map. Back to my question. Where has these moves been agreed upon? And carol, I am not asking you but the bot operator. -- Slaunger (talk) 20:16, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

If I may, I'll try to share an outsider's view (and also speak up for Siebrand). Before this whole thing got started, there was no difference between "Flora" and "Plants" to me. Of course, it's never good to be inconsistent with naming schemes, so the logical choice is to rename one or the other. Following that logic further, the obvious choice (at least at the time) is to go with the more commonly understood "Plants". Also, one look at Category:Plants by country and you'll instantly see what the majority are called. I would say that practically everyone (who's not directly involved) would not see anything controversial about making those renames. I almost did the first batch myself. Guess what happens when you perform a task like this and someone who's extremely active in this area comes to you and says you made a mistake? Well, you believe them. After all, it is their area and they would know better than someone that hardly ever ventures out that way. So no blame goes to the admin(s) that handled the requests unless they were aware of the controversial nature of the moves beforehand.

As for this discussion here, I think it would be better if all you guys start out and write some kind of documentation/guideline for the naming of these categories. Like I said before, the requests sat there for awhile and no one said anything. What are we supposed to do? Sit there and watch the backlog grow? Us non-specialists need something to go on, and you specialists need a place to argue work things out. Or else things like this will continue to happen. If you're worry about a lack of interest/discussion, be bold. That always gets people talking.

And if I was Siebrand, I would keep it a secret I maintained the category rename bot. Unless it's a technical issue, he really has nothing to do with it (unless he gave the commands himself, of course). Rocket000(talk) 06:43, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

I tried to get a clarification, and all people agree that flora and plants is pretty much the same but maybe a little different. Despite my repeated questions, nobody documented the precise meaning (or difference). Because there is no formal documentation on those categories nor central discussion place, the problem dragged on and on, If you want to maintain a system in a decent state, you cannot live with a double naming/category system. I don't know what caused the move, and frankly, I don't care because at least, now, there is one major problem gone and we don't run around around in circles anymore. So let's see if there is real damage. I doubt it. --Foroa (talk) 06:59, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Foroa good of you to join the discussion here. I should like to see the attempts that you made to get the clarification -- I suspect that the authors of the "Flora of" categories were shy to answer your questions. The beautiful image map navigation and the way the definition of them actually works with the way that people do work here. Could it be that the creators of this tree were shy to answer your questions? It should be good to see your attempts to ask -- especially the attempts that were made before you instigated the move. And once again, glad to see that you are here and interested after the fact at least. -- carol 19:17, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
I have indeed tried several times too, to stimulate some kind of consensus on this issue. Unfortunately my attempts have failed, and I agree the meaningless coexistence of both categories just had to stop at some point. In this case something/someone rolled the decision dice and the outcome was "Flora of...". OK, flora be it then, let us move on. -- Slaunger (talk) 08:01, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Category:Plants of Catalonia had only photos of plants taken in Catalonia. Category:Flora of Catalonia should include native plants of Catalonia (maybe photographed anywhere). It's different.
I agree that guidelines are useful, but they could be discussed before destroying existing categories.--Pere prlpz (talk) 12:21, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for understanding that. My intentions were (as motivated by the least amount of maintenance first) that subcategories of "Flora of" should be native species (the same thing with Fauna and Geography although, the second is not so difficult to understand) and images that were put there could be plants that were growing at that location. I did not start to make species categories for plants until I started to author articles about them. I categorized many images including plants and I do not think that I made subcategories while accomplishing that task. If it is wrong to assume that this is typical behavior here, it should be good to communicate that to me on my talk page or here if Siebrand doesn't mind. -- carol 12:48, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

(tab reset) This is probably not the right place but as the discussion seems to be here and there is no obviously better page for it...

It is good that the categories have been merged.

There has been some talk of sub-categories but none of the "Flora..." categories I've come across have any. Just to be clear and borrowing from w:en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flora, should there potentially be sub-categories for:

 • Native flora of .... The native and indigenous plants of an area.
 • Agricultural and garden flora of .... The plants that are deliberately grown by humans.
 • Introduced flora of .... Plants that are not indigenous to a given location but instead have been accidentally or deliberately introduced to the location by human activity or by natural means.

Also:

 • Is this the correct set of sub-categories?
 • Are they correctly named?
 • Should there be others?

It would be good to really bottom this out so we can document it for the benefit of all.

-Arb. (talk) 15:05, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Some plants will have a lot of "Flora" categories (maybe some hundreds). Is this usefull?--Pere prlpz (talk) 17:12, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
What is the criteria for the "Plants of" categories? I am so curious what could be the logic that has made them the way that they are. Some filled only with galleries, some non-existent, some with no galleries but only single images. (To not just suggest the merge but to have confidently gone ahead and did this merge and then to demand an explanation to the undoing and to demand that the research be done for you is an impressive display that seems to fit the understanding of the logic that holds English wikipedia together? I am guessing about the logic here as well.) Explain what you knew to be the criteria that makes the "Plants of" categories and how you knew without me telling you that they could merge and also one other little question. Do you remember in elementary school and junior high some of the set theory lessons that at least in my schooling were provided? -- carol 18:33, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
There is a subset here also about educational value and I would like to borrow something from the English Wikipedia Plants project: an encyclopedia is not a gardening manual. -- carol 18:35, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

(tab reset)Here is the sort of thing I had in mind.

The template in the top of Category:Flora of San Serriffe would yield:

This category should be used for all plants of San Serriffe, both native (whether photographed in San Serriffe or elsewhere) and introduced. If you know which subcategory/ies your plant belongs in then please place it there. If not, use this category. The usual subcategories are:

Note that Category:Plants of San Serriffe is depreciated and redirects here (or should do).

Thoughts anyone?

-Arb. (talk) 23:56, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

 • I would suggest to open a Flora category scheme file in Category:Commons category schemes, advertise it on the village pump and continue the discussion there. Personally, I think that it might be more interesting to use names in the sense of "Flora of San Serriffe", "Flora of San Serriffe, native", "Flora of San Serriffe, introduced", "Flora of San Serriffe, cultivated" as people search in the first place to the beginning of a category name, so should give less trouble with HotCat. Moreover, it shows clearly what are the main cat and subcats. --Foroa (talk) 06:17, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

@Foroa, that sounds like a plan. Scheme drafted at Commons:Category scheme flora but not yet publicised. Perhaps you all would like to give it the once over first? -Arb. (talk) 01:51, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

moving categories to non-English names

hi Siebrand,

did you move these English categories to non-English names [5]? My understanding of Commons:Language policy on categories states that they be used in English. Cathedrals and churches (and buildings in general) are not their own native name if they can be translated, as can be seen here [6]. Gryffindor (talk) 16:23, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Hmm. May have been in doubt a bit there. I guess you're right. Will revert that somewhere this week. Cheers! Siebrand 16:32, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Not so quickly, please, at least all categories representing French cathedrals have French names, see here. As this is not an issue where a consensus is easily found, I suggest to open a case here whenever the current practice is to be reconsidered. Regards, AFBorchert (talk) 17:29, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Thanks Siebrand. To AFBorchert: we have to respect policy if it is in place. My understanding is that English be used for categories, native language for articles (which seems like a fair compromise). If we start using native names for categories, how is anyone who does not happen to speak French for example supposed to find it? I speak some French but how am I supposed to know that Category:Cathédrale Notre-Dame-et-Saint-Vaast d'Arras is the same as "Arras Cathedral"[7]? And what happens if we start using "Kölner Dom" etc., where would it end? Gryffindor (talk) 20:26, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
You misunderstood me, Gryffindor, I am neither pleading for Arras Cathedral nor for Cathédrale Notre-Dame-et-Saint-Vaast d'Arras. I can live with both and there are pro and cons for both variants. The important point is that we need to find a broad consensus that covers at least all French cathedrals. In the moment, all categories within Category:Cathedrals in France use the French name. We have at least for now some consistency and I simply ask to open a broad discussion at COM:CFD if you would like to rename them to the corresponding English names. --AFBorchert (talk) 20:58, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Ah ok, I see. Hm, well I would say for cases which are easy to be used in English, like "Reims Cathedral" (or "Cathedral of Reims"), that should be easy. If it is a church that no one has really heard about, then it can remain with the French name, since I don't think it's a good idea to invent an English name if you will. Gryffindor (talk) 21:27, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Please open this discussion at COM:CFD, not here just with me where we soon start to bother Siebrand. --AFBorchert (talk) 22:50, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Oh well, that happens. I am quite used to a lot of traffic on my talk page, especially on days that I have SieBot make 15.000 or so edits. My 2 cents: I do not support a "French only" solution. I guess the only workable solution is (again, and yes, optimal, but not the best ever solution - think other scripts than Latin for example) to always use a category name in English, even if something has a proper name in a different script or language. Having transparent category names in multiple languages, depending on browser language, or user interface language is a thing of the future - if ever... Siebrand 08:44, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
I agree with that but take for example the category of Chartres Cathedral which has been moved multiple times already back and forth (from Category:Cathedral of Chartres over Category:Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Chartres to Category:Chartres Cathedral and finally back to Category:Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Chartres). What we need is a broad consensus for a policy and some commitment for consistency. Otherwise, these categories will continue moving endlessly. --AFBorchert (talk) 09:58, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Yes. This particular category move I regret :) Please let me know when the discussion is done, as I think I help a lotin accomplishing the consensus situation. I havem moved thousands of categories over the years, and SieBot must already have made some 200.000 category changes. I an not quite fond of long discussions, so I will probably not take part in that. Cheers! Siebrand 10:38, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

(Indent reset) I think we are all very much in line. I answered here to the originator and to avoid splintering of the discussion. --Foroa (talk) 11:49, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

No words as requested.
Since the attention is here and the mistakes seem to not be happening in the second discussion which is here, look at the difference between where the gallery for Anthodiscus obovatus is now because it was moved from an undefined "Plants of" category into what is the wrong "Flora of" category. Foroa, now that you have learned and adapted and are using communication skills while dealing with category moves -- consider taking a look back to uncommunicative category moves. http://www.ars-grin.gov/cgi-bin/npgs/html/taxon.pl?450325 (I don't know how familiar people/decision makers are here about this planet -- Brazil is a very large area....) -- carol (talk) 04:55, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Holy mackerel. Are you even capable of making *any* comment without any sarcasm, cynicism, or hint about the stupidity of the other party, Carol? I am quite certain that there is another way to peruade other users to try and view things from your angle. I must say that I am hardly able to look through all the stings and see the message - that is most probably quite contrary to your aims, unless you are a troll, only active with the intention of wasting other people's time. Cut the crap, stick to the point and leave all the emotions out, please. Siebrand 06:01, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

I don't like discussion of obvious things. I don't like the smell of English wikipedia here. I am actually embarrassed for the admin who saw through my "sock" there -- I had carefully disquised myself as "Spears, Carol" and I think that the same height to the bar set there is being set here and I am really sorry about that and I suggest that you should be also. -- carol (talk) 20:16, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Please reconsider. -- carol (talk) 20:48, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
I would prefer that those with the reality problems here would keep their own special version of reality among themselves. The inability to comprehend simple ideas should be not difficult. I think it should be more interesting for these reality challenged people to work it out without me.
This is the talk page of a person who originally had authored software. Do you know what became of that person? -- carol (talk) 22:07, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Dear Carol. Insinuations and personal attacks have given you trouble before. I strongly suggest that you count your blessings. Siebrand 22:31, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Dear Siebrand, if we could keep it simple and you clearly state when you are relaying inaccurate information about yourself so that me and everyone else will know when wrong information is being relayed about abilities. The exchange we had on August 28, just a few days ago, on this talk page suggests that you should not be suffering right now from feelings of a personal attack. Is the message now, four days later that you can author software? Please understand, I have been honest and forthright most of my days. The few untruths I have told became 1) too complicated to keep and 2) not as interesting as the truth.
I have a strong feeling that there are several very good projects available here at the commons and the insistance of some to take existing and not abandoned projects is kind of a sad thing for the way that humans interact. Anonymity is not so strong of a suit, in my opinion. Especially when the overtakers have displayed that they are not able to understand simple things like the lack of a one to one relationship between the sets nor the ability to ask. This is not a project manager, this is (my opinion) a broken person.
The last two or three years (and this is the truth) I count footsteps as I literally take a step. The feeling of the invasion of my privacy is strong; the counting makes it uninteresting perhaps. I have one blessing and that is my name and decades of the mostly completely honest attempts to communicate with people in real life and online.
So, I have counted to one, thank you for the advice, it was a good suggestion. Perhaps this same suggestion can be given to others (who probably have more things than just their name since they were so protective not to use their real names) and keep counting until they can display an ability and willingness to communicate and an ability to understand simple things like sets of things which are not equal. I do not think that this will hurt anything. -- carol (talk) 01:04, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

Serious delinker/dupes tools issue

This is new. I have run several dozens images through the delinker 2-3 times and while delinker acts like it's processed them, they don't actually get delinked. For one thing, the "universally replaced" tag doesn't show up. This is a big issue. Please advise. I'm not submitting more to delinker til you tell me this is fixed. One image I have seen this problem occur with is Image:Citrine Wagtail ( Adult female)- Hodal I IMG 9213.jpg. Please advise.RlevseTalk 02:00, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

It appears there is an issue with the number of open files the delinker has. It is only allowed to have 255 open, and it was trying for more. Restarted with emptied cache. Siebrand 05:53, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Argh. I hate having to redo stuff. Thanks though for your part. RlevseTalk 20:14, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

I agree we should have "Coins of France" cat vice "French coins" but things like "(Moving from United States Air Force to Air force of the United States (following category redirect))" (and Army of the United States vice United States Army) are just silly. It is a misapplication of the policy. The reason is that the organizations are actually named "United States Air Force" and "United States Army", therein lies the difference. Can we change this back to what these organizations are actually called?RlevseTalk 13:58, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Hi! You have tagged images for deletion on here User_talk:Imac.vincent for lack of source information. Some are from May 2007 but have not yet been deleted. Also Note Category:Vincent for others by the same user, which are also lacking in source info and may all be imagevio's as other persons work, though claimed to be 'PD-Self', as theyy appear to have no 'Exif' data in the extended details box, showing camera information. 86.3.2.208 23:49, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

In general, all "Plants of <Country>" categories used to be categorised in:

 1. Category:Plants by country|<country>
 2. Category:Nature of <country>
 3. Category:Flora of <region>| <<country>

During the recent move to "Flora..." (and the several that preceded it), many have lost their link to 1. Would it be possible for SieBot to check all "Flora of <Country>" categories and restore links to 1 and 2 if missing.

Once this is done it, would be a tedious but relatively simple task to manually work through "Category:Plants by country" to check for and restore links to 3 (which are also missing in some cases eg Japan, now manually restored).

Many thanks,

-Arb. (talk) 13:43, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

During the category moves, no category information has been lost. If so, I am not aware of that happening, and I would like you to show me where that happened. Please also make one or a few edits of what exactly you would like to get done, and link to those, too. Cheers! Siebrand 14:59, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

(tab reset) Apologies if it sounded as though I'm accusing the bot, I'm not, hence the "(and the several that preceded it)". It is definitely the case that somehow or other most of the countries of the Caribbean lost their categorisation to Category:Plants by country and some also lost it to Category:Flora of the Caribbean (which was previously Category:Plants of the Caribbean). I'm certain of this because they were there when checked recently yet I had to restored them manually last night. However, there were various moves and restores going on prior to the bot's involvement and it may well have been these that caused the problem. To be honest, it doesn't seem worth spending time to investigate any further.

With regard to what's required, you could look at Category:Flora of Jamaica and Category:Flora of Japanfor examples.

To try to clarify, and using the numbering above:

 1. If you look in Category:Plants by country you'll notice that what used to be a category well populated with "Plants of ..." subcategories now has only a few "Flora of ..." subcategories, many being those that I restored yesterday. I guess that what's required is for every "Flora of ..." category to contain where <country name> is derived as described at * below.
 2. According to Commons:Category_scheme_countries_and_subdivisions#Nature, each "Flora of ...>" categories should be categorised in its respective "Category:Nature of <country>". In other words it should contain .
 3. This is a regional categorisation that the bot almost certainly can't directly help with (I included it only for completeness), but once it has done number 1 there will exist in Category:Plants by country a complete list of "Flora of ..." subcategories which I can work through manually.

* In writing all this I've been assuming that SieBot has sufficient string manipulation capabilities to be able to work through all categories starting with "Flora of " and within each, obtain the page name and trim the "Flora of " bit off (or "Flora of the " occasionally) leaving it with just the country name to be used in building category names and sort criteria. Is that correct?

-Arb. (talk) 18:57, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Hi Arb. No offense taken. But as soon as I read something about a content mistake about a bot in a comment, I request detailed information about it immediately, because if there is an issue, it needs to be identified asap. More into detail: Category:Flora of Jamaica and Category:Flora of Japan: check the history of those cats. For Jamaica it was removed by an anonymous, Japan never had it.
Then on to Plant by country: the contents of that category should be moved to Flora by country, and the former should get a Seecat.
The other questions: I will try to look into that when I have more time. Please consider asking Multichill about it. He's out current categorisation bot guru. I just run a handy tool :). Cheers! Siebrand 21:16, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Thanks to the bot and owner for the "Flora of ..." work. "Category:Flora by country" looks well populated now.
For the record, while it is true that Category:Flora of Japan has never contained Category:Plants by country, Category:Plants of Japan most certainly did, and other categories too. I guess I would have expected these to be transferred as part of a cat move. Presumably there are reasons why that can't happen.
Will talk to Multichill about the other questions as you suggest. Thanks for the pointer.
-Arb. (talk) 12:46, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Ah, right. I get it :) Categories are not merged when category contents are moved to a category for which a page already exists. That is indeed a possible omission in the bot code, but can also be seen as a feature: the assumption being that the new category is at least as well, or better organised, than the old category. I know: flawed :) Siebrand 19:14, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
It's probably a case of "damned if you do and damned if you don't" but in the cases I've been involved in it would, on balance, have been better if the bot had moved the categories categories. Reason: it's easier to (a) remove or correct excess/misnamed categories than to (b) hunt down those that have been lost. So much so that (b) is almost certain to get done (over time) while (a) might well not happen, ever. YMMV. -Arb. (talk) 11:03, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
Can you explain what you are saying here? Did you just say that not cleaning your mistake is probably going to happen quite soon due to the fact that software does exist that can undo mistakes that were made? -- carol (talk) 12:53, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
I will fix it, just didnt do it yet. Multichill (talk) 20:04, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

✓ Done} (also moved 2 galleries that were left as "bills"). Still all manual labour, though... Siebrand 14:33, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for your help! //moralist (talk) 17:15, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
Thank you. I thought you had a bot trick for that. You seem to be able to delete around 20 categories per minute, much quicker than I can do. It would be interesting to have a bot command, rename for example, that deletes the source category (when empty) as this is done in most of the cases and requires substantial work. --Foroa (talk) 07:36, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
Automatic deletion after moving a category is the default for the pywikipediabot framework. However, that met opposition over a year ago, and I took that out for SieBot. Only in manual runs I sometimes still use it. Siebrand 07:51, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

Whill these images be process in one day? The uploader don't seem to ever contribute even since 2005 or 2006. Is these a delete or a keep. Everyone just say they have lives outside of internet.--57Freeways 00:28, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

Deletion requests usually have quite a long backlog. Please be patient for up to 6 weeks. Cheers! Siebrand 07:52, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

Maps

Hello. The bot has been deleting a properly-licensed map at various Wikipedia articles. E.g. [9] I'm not sure of the nature of the issue here, but I am restoring them. Regards, Kablammo (talk) 10:56, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Also see [10] The images have been or are being restored, but the deletions still have to be undone. I have undone some but there are a lot; I asked at WP:ANI if someone could undo these deletions. Kablammo (talk) 11:15, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
I have blocked the bot on enwiki until you confirm that this issue has been resolved. Please post at w:WP:ANI to confirm this. Stifle (talk) 11:40, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
I've unblocked the bot. First, it worked exactly as it should, the problem was caused by a human error. Second, it had already finished with the unlinking. Siebrand, is there a way to instruct the bot to undo its changes, where they haven't been undone already? This might have affected more Wikipedias than just en and fr. Also cool would be a check whether the image has been restored at the Commons in the meantime before actually unlinking. For instance, I restored Image:Map of USA NE.svg at 10:17 UTC, but the en-bot still delinked it between 10:59 and 11:14 UTC at en-WP. Lupo 12:09, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Reblocked; see ANI discussion and [11]. Kablammo (talk) 12:42, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Crap. And here I thought after 40 minutes on inactivity it'd be safe to unblock. Sorry guys. Siebrand, it really seems that a "restoration check before unlinking" is desperately needed. Commons admins can cause such problems, they should also have some guarantee that when they restore an image, no further delinkings will occur. I also think the bot needs a command that makes it try to undo all its changes for a particular image, and report to the person who had entered that command any pages on which an undo failed/was not possible. Lupo 12:49, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
See also User_talk:Siebrand/Archive12#Commons-Relinker. The bot writes a log file. Anyone else with a global bot account who wants to write a parser and undo-bot? --Dschwen (talk) 12:59, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Delinker is still removing links (see [12]). Please block it, and check its command file before unblocking it. Croquant (talk) 14:12, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Common delinker question

I got a random question about it.

Some images are deleted but can be either:

 • restored when the issue is fixed (OTRS or the missing information fixed.)
 • transferred to the local wikis were the image were used.

The problem is that the images are already delinked, so the linking must be done again. I don't know if commonsdelinker is able to revert the step, I assume that technically it could do it if the versions were not modified since. (by reverting itself.) (I actually don't know if the command exists or is implemented.) Could a link to the commands that are needed to revert the unlink be added in the talk page of each deleted images? If it is not possible could the talk page list the place and revision where the images were used, so someone can do manually the merge?

Esby (talk) 12:56, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

CD does not have a 'revert' command. It's on a list, but there is no developer capacity. You can use http://stable.ts.wikimedia.org/delinker/ to check where a particular file was delinked. Cheers! Siebrand 13:09, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

CommonsDelinker errors

Hello, CommonsDelinker is making faulty deletes like this one. I don't quite understand what happened to the pictures on commons but it seems that they have been unintentionally deleted and then restored again. Correct me if I'm wrong. Greetings --AWak3N (talk) 14:22, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

CD does not make fauly edits. Administrators make errors, and CD acts on administrative actions, good and bad. If the bad is not fixed within 10 minutes of deletion, CD *will* unlink. You can use http://stable.toolserver.org/delinker/ to trace CD's actions. Cheers! Siebrand 22:26, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Commons Delinker complaint

Instead of removing the picture from the article, in this diff Commons Delinker replaced the King's name by another King's name, enabling the mistake between the two kings to be perpetuated. The picture of Ashurnasirpal II has nothing to do in an article on Ashurbanipal. Teofilo (talk) 09:46, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

If you check the diff little closer, I think you will agree with me that you have a better target to aim your complaint at: the admin that gave the replace command. I have no knowledge of this fact, I can only see that the replacement is perfect in a techinical sense, which is something I could influence. Siebrand 10:25, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

CommonsDelinker/commands

To weak up dead dogs: User_talk:Siebrand/Archive10#CommonsDelinker_2
I just want to ask if something has changed since the last time. Looks as if it would be still on the todo-list. A universal remove would be very usefull for Trichome-close-up.jpg. It is used on some wikipedia sides, but it should be deleted, because: Summary is "from en:Wikipedia"; The log on wikipedia tells me that the image was removed by Nv8200p because it was tagged with Pui. The uploader wrote "from overgrow.com" as comment. So I think that this image is a copyvio and should get deleted even it's a nice picture.

Wrong edit summary

Could you please check why the edit summary of your bot is sometimes wrong? Examples are [13], [14], [15] and [16]. -- aka 06:20, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

We know what is wrong, and cannot fix it now... The bot will however not make incorrect edits, only the edit summaries may be messed up. Siebrand 08:13, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
It is very confusing though, but much better that if the edit summaries had been correct and the edits themselves had been worng! Should the bot be stopped until it is solved? -- Slaunger (talk) 08:20, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
Nope. Siebrand 11:53, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

Commonsdelinker bug

[17] When it removes an image, it seems to leave some unprintable character, which makes the image field non-empty and undermines standard template logic like {{#if:{}.... It can therefore cause some raw image code to appear in infoboxes. Gimmetrow (talk) 20:09, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

The issue is most probably that the template does not deal with an empty Img parameter, there is no invisible character. Siebrand 23:03, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
No, the template is not the problem. The image field above had a \u200e next to the image name. If the bot is removing the name, it needs to remove that character, too, so the image field is actually left blank. Gimmetrow (talk) 01:33, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Not really. That character didn't have any business there, and the bot edit was valid. Siebrand 22:03, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Just add [\u200e]* to the regex before and after the image name. Gimmetrow (talk) 12:09, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

Deleting instead of replacing

Hi Siebrand! I have written a notice on m:User talk:CommonsDelinker aswell, but it's perhaps easier to talk here.

This request by User:EPO made commonsdelinker delete the image totally in 4 pages in swedish wikipedia, and at least one deletion in af.wp! The reasons for theese deletions were unused duplicate(?) See the user contributions at svwp for 14 october. You must stop this bot, unless it is known what happened. Best regards // Mankash (talk) 11:25, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Well, that request should have made edits with the "reason", as you are quoting a different reason, it looks like EPO removed a file as duplicate that was still in use, and CD hasn't done anything wrong. No reason to change anything, please talk to EPO. Cheers! Siebrand 17:49, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
Aha, I finally get it. EPO deleted the image before the CD command was executed. OK, I'm sorry I bothered you. Thanks. Kind regards // Mankash (talk) 21:07, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Image deletion warning Image:Nl-Monica de Bruyn-article.ogg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this image, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue.
In all cases, please do not take the deletion request personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!

Problem with bot

[19] 1. Wrong summary. 2. Petříkov is probably part of Czech Silesia, but definitely not part of Polish Silesian Voivodeship. --Dezidor (talk) 23:57, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

(1) is a known issue. (2) If something is incorrectly recategorised, please check with the trusted user that issued the command[20]. Cheers! Siebrand 06:53, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
The category name has been changed precisely to avoid this type of mistakes and confusion. Obviously, there is a need for additional checking and possibly a clean up in Category:Architecture of Silesia and related categories. I will ask the Polish editors that requested the move. --Foroa (talk) 07:03, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
We are talking about this region, so there may be villages/churches/etc. from Czech Republic, Poland and sometimes Germany. We are trying to fix this, that's why I created categories "xxx in Silesian Voivodeship". Cat. corrected, in future you can write to me directly. Yarl 14:59, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

removing reference to deleted duplicate

In the the English wikt, at wikt:pond, CommonsDelinker removed Pond.jpeg, deleted as duplicate of Black pond near Esher.jpeg. If it knew that, why not replace it in the link instead of removing the image link? Robert Ullmann (talk) 16:02, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Probably because the deleting admin didn't check if the image had been orphaned before deleting it. Delinking and replacing are two different processes. Siebrand 20:31, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

CommonsDelinker

Can you stop it and revert its edits? D-Kuru forgot to ask Delinker before deleting dupes, and Delinker removed images from articles instead of replacing it.--Ahonc (talk) 16:29, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

CD edits are logged on http://stable.toolserver.org/delinker/. I guess D-Kuru has some fixing to do, as automated rollback is not available. Siebrand 20:33, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Another problem is that CommonsDelinker doesn't work everytime. (For example: Whitewidow.jpg was a duplicate of White widow.jpg which was in use on several pages on en.wiki (including :en:White Widow (cannabis)). I told ComDelinker two times to replace it 1, 2. Today I told ComDelinker replaced it again.
For some reason ComDelinker didn't remove the image even it was deleted days ago. ???
@ Siebrand: Shouldn't it be enough if I check the usage as long as today's changes aren't displayed? Maybe there should be something like which deletes all images which were universally replaced.
--D-Kuru (talk) 21:31, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
A major problem is that you, as an admin, are deleting duplicate images that are still being used. *ANY* shortcoming of a tool that helps you orphan duplicates is no excuse WHATSOEVER for this disgrace. Siebrand 21:34, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
We are in the works of providing you with the consequences of your errors. You will get a report. 49 images have already been undeleted. Siebrand 21:35, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Is there any way to find out quick if the images are in use without wating for the usage-link?
If not: Should every today's picture be undeleted?
--D-Kuru (talk) 21:51, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Advice for D-Kuru: you should delete dupes ONLY from Category:Universally replaced by CommonsDelinker (but NOT ALL, only whole replaced). And images from category:Duplicate should be replaced by CD before deletion.--Ahonc (talk) 22:01, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Even http://stable.toolserver.org/delinker/ is a good idea, it doesn't work everytime. According to the delinker log there was no delink for 妙徳山 華厳寺 (京都市)鈴虫寺 本堂4230554.jpg. Log on ja.wiki is different.
--D-Kuru (talk) 12:10, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
Lucky for you I (at the alert of Ahonc) didn't let CD finish its job, and forced quit it, befor it logged all actions performed. I'll make a note to not shut down CD anymore :D. Siebrand 12:13, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
I don't know how much much of CDs job is allready finished. However, I checked all ~270 deleted files from yesterday and undelinked all files on every Wikiproject the toolserver displayed. I hope that you are satisfied with that ~15k table. :-)
Is it possible to tell CD to wait for lets say 5 minutes so that CD replaces mor than only one picture per edit? (fe: This would be done in one edit, not in six)
--D-Kuru (talk) 22:26, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

The CommonsDelinker is blocked indef on en.WP. That is the reason why it does not replace images on en.WP anymore. Problem is that the template it put into the images tells us that it replaced them there. -- Cecil (talk) 15:32, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

If the en.wp admins decide to block CD, deleted images from Commons become their own problem. Nothing more to say on that. Siebrand 09:15, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

Problem with deleted image

A bot has deleted the image File:Kortrijk 30 Leiestraat.jpg. This image represented a statute of the fictional charater Lucky Luke. The bot claimed the image did not complied with the FOP criterion. I do not mind if it is true or not. I only want to upload again the image in the English encyclopedia, where I am sure that the image will not be deleted, for even if the image is judged non-free, I can at least add a FUR. The problem is that the original uploader of the image is not me, I do not know who uploaded it, I do not have any version of the image. Can you tell me who is the uploader, or restaure the image only to copy it ? It is very important, because free images for comics are extremely rare, because any works by the comics authors are copyrighted, so that the only free images are those representing statutes, wall paintings and objects., and we lack them. Thank you very much. --Pah777 (talk) 22:54, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

The svg replacements

HI

I've now gone through the png -> svg replacements made by Commons delinker and found that it missed a bunch of them. I've seen from [21] that they were added and I can't seem to find a trend to why these particular ones should have caused trouble. Anyhow the ones that were missed can be seen in User:Lokal Profil/hitlists/Vector-images.com#Batch_2. Worst case I can replace them by hand but it would still be nice to figure out howcome CD missed them.

Cheers Lokal_Profil 02:06, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

You deleted the image (log) as a duplicate of Image:Amphitheatrum sapientiae aeternae - Alchemist's Laboratory.jpg in June, but I'm not sure if the image was actually a bit-for-bit identical. It seems unlikely, since the deleted image was newer, and was specifically edited for nomination at the English Wikipedia featured pictures. --Paul_012 (talk) 13:20, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Depends on how admins give it commands. If they do not keep adding jobs while it is busy, and/or not put very large categories in a large list, it'll work, otherwise a bug in the pywikipediabot framework pops up. Siebrand 11:37, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Churches in Gotland

Why has your robot moved "Category:Churches of Gotland" to "Category:Churches in Gotland"? Has there been a discussion of this anywhere? --Hegvald (talk) 00:02, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

This move has been done during the category naming harmonisation process of "Churches of xxx" (a few hundreds) to "Churches in xxx" (a few thousands). There are no discussions on such harmonisations if there is only a need of adjusting a minority of the names to the de facto standard. --Foroa (talk) 10:27, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

So, are you going to rename Category:Churches on the Isle of Wight to Category:Churches in the Isle of Wight? --Hegvald (talk) 11:35, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
Churches in Gotland is coherent with Buildings in Gotland, Open air museums in Gotland and Buildings in Visby. So far, the two cats "churches on xxx" remain untouched I think (I am not the driver here). The current Gotland category documentation does not say if Gotland is to be interpreted as a county, province, municipality or Island, but according to the IW's, it is a county. --Foroa (talk) 12:38, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
The comparison with Category:Buildings in Visby is of course not relevant. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 13:14, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
Well, I can't help feeling that "in Gotland" looks rather ugly, and the existence of more categories using that preposition doesn't really make me feel better about it. "Gotland" on its own is always preceded by the preposition "på" (on) in Swedish. (To use "in" one would need to specify what unit one is talking about.) Using "of" is an acceptable alternative to take the small island of Fårö into account. I see no need to be consistent when the result goes against good grammar. --Hegvald (talk) 13:51, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
This is not the place to discuss it. I would suggest to insert the necessary New cat name in the concerned categories. I would suggest to use the proposition "on" for all the Islands, as it fits better with your language and the use on other Islands. Alternatively, you could issue a COM:CFD as to discuss the generalisation for all Islands. Question is, if we have a special rule for Islands, we don't have to have the word Island in the category names as there are hundreds of Islands allover the world and for Gotland, you need to do a subtsantial amount of clicking and reading before you know that one of the meanings could be an Island. (I for one, I did not know that Gotland means equally a Swedish Island, despite the fact that I have family in Sweden). This is not the place to discuss this problem, so for possible further discussions, please move away from this user page. --Foroa (talk) 14:13, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
Ehr, something fitting better with another language than English in English isn't the point here. The question should be if it is both fitting the Commons category naming convention and consistent over all categories related to the subject. Siebrand 15:17, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

van Gogh sub-categories

Hi Siebrand, Siebot moved some categories recently which I had called "works" into "paintings". My English being less than perfect, I however want to declare that there are by far more drawings and mixed media left by this artist than just the renowned paintings. Maybe, "pieces" would be more adequate? I'd prefer you commenting on Category talk:Vincent van Gogh where the fool which I am started a hell of a job, a while ago ;) tx, Wolfgang (talk) 22:28, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

Too much to read through. One thing I noticed: "Van Gogh Works" as a category name is fundamentally incorrect according to category name conventions. It should at least be "Works by Vincent van Gogh". Siebrand 07:14, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
ack. I had proposed it for a few days on the talk page, without feedback on this, although I'd begged some dozen people to comment. I do think that Gryffindor meanwhile does take the effort to read-through. I did not write all of this just to bore people whilst waisting my time, but to become clear about significant changes I'd feel useful to any future wikipedia user. See, e.g., diff. Best, Wolfgang (talk) 16:10, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

That is why you engage in discussion before taking on a big project, if you haven't done it before, and that is also why I told you earlier in this discussion. Thank you for doing the former. Siebrand 21:04, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Let's come to the point:

 1. Almost all the renames Siebot did, are OK, as the objects are paintings.
 2. vGogh left by far more drawings and mixed media than paintings. Question: Would Category:Drawings and mixed media by van Gogh in the X museum be an adequate CAT name? Or what else would you propose? (I called it "works", because I did not see much use in such splitting, as far as museum-subcategories are concerned, but admittedly I was wrong on the syntax).
 3. I totally disagree with Gryffindor's approach to file names, by faintingly continuing the Yorck project name-giving, which is just numbering (counting) the pieces added -- which ist totally arbitrary, whilst unique identifiers do exist for the vG oeuvre. In case you'd be willing to comment on this, I'd try to make myself as clear as ever possible (i.e., put adequate questions which you might answer at relatively little expense).

On #2, I please ask you to answer ASAP. I will not waist your time on #3, if you'd dislike. Thanks, Wolfgang (talk) 08:58, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Hi, lacking an answer on this question for quite a while, I created a subheading. Or do you see an objection to answer? tx, Wolfgang (talk) 02:08, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Or, how about another proposal: Just to rename "Paintings by vG in the X museum" to "Artwork by" or similar, as it would be too much of an effort, imo, to create precise sub-cats just for those museum subcats, and afterwards create a "paternal" category like thisone: In many cases, the subcats would not contain but few items.
It would be nice to have your opinion soon, as I'm working on the 350 vG file descriptions (including CAT &c), and it would be by far more expense to change later. Wolfgang (talk) 02:18, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

CommonsDelinker misbehaviour

Hello Siebrand. Although CommonsDelinker is in fact a good tool to keep things up to date, I feel it's not working most effectively in the way it is applied now. If not watching carefully ones articles, you see sooner or later an article irreparable damaged. A specimen of that is our article stq:Wikselsponnenge. The text of that article thoughout refers (with a, b, c, x) to an image which has disappeared. The bad thing is, that you are not alarmed when superficially scanning your articles, because CommonsDelinker removed the reference to that image. Still worse is, that it also removed the text we added to the image, which sometimes constitutes an essential part of the article.
I would propose another system, in which each Wikipedia gets a message page, in which you can see whether images are removed to which it is linking, together with the concerning pagenames. In that way the author(s) of an article can repair it in the best way, using the data from the old link. --Pyt (talk) 11:56, 24 November 2008 (UTC)--

Sorry, a better example is stq:Luchtgauegaid. --Pyt (talk) 18:05, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
We have http://stable.ts.wikimedia.org/delinker/ and the user contributions page. That should suffice, I think. Cheers! Siebrand 09:02, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

System corruption ?

Any idea why Category:Archaeological sites in Pakistan is filled up with 111 images that seem not to belong to this category ? Is there any command to reset/rebuild a category as the duplicate and speedy delete categories have quite often corrupted counters. --Foroa (talk) 09:34, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

interesting! I did some experimenting and "action=purge" does not work. Only thing that appears to work is make a null edit to all current category members, and then purge the category. Not really something you will look forward to doing. This is something you could post on wikitech-l. Maybe all categories on Commons can be rebuilt somehow, as this is almost certainly not the only messed-up category. Siebrand 17:52, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
The cause of this was this edit. It was reverted, but it takes some time for the job queue to update all pages using the templates. If the changes had to be done faster, null edits (manually or by bot) was probably the only option. Category counters are updated when adding or removing a page in a category. That will onl add or subtract 1 from the counter, so if it was already wrong the updated count will still be wrong. Incorrect category counts are only fixwd when viewing a category with less than 200 members with a incorrect count, or if a system administrator runs a maintenance script on the server to update counts for all categories. /Ö 21:56, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Bild Löschen

Hallo,

So could you please erase the picture, I will it reload at once with the correct name. Thanks a lot --Siga (talk) 19:56, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

Please use Rename the right way to have things done for you. Cheers! Siebrand 23:47, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
Siebrand, you misunderstood: Siga has already uploded a correctly named duplicate, so he should use Badname.
@Siga:
Shit happens more than once ;) Wolfgang (talk) 03:45, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
I think I got it. I will inscribe myself in the list of trusted users and then I can rename my pictures myself (if necessary). If I am in a hurry, I can upload a second copy of my picture, this time with the right name and afterwards use the template "badname" for the old picture. I hope I really got it. In this special case, thanks to W I just have to wait. Thanks for the help.--Siga (talk) 08:25, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Substitution of Image:BSicon TBHFu.svg-like

Hi,

The Image:BSicon TBHFu.svg-like images are used in models that take a %%%% label as parameter and display Image:BSicon %%%%.svg - a computed link. Thus, when the following line is met:

universal replace|BSicon BHFu.svg|BSicon TBHFu.svg|reason=(incorrectly named) duplicate

What is really meant is that the label BHFu should be replaced by TBHFu in all its occurrences. It should be identified as a label, with no alphanumerals before or after, because a label may be used as substring in another label. Usually it is simply preceded and followed by "|" or blank spaces, but special cases may be tricky.

Since the 'bot can't do it the correction has to be done by hand, and this is very tedious and risky. And the reference in de:Wikipedia:Formatvorlage Bahnstrecke changes from time to time, leading to duplicates that nobody wants to orphan.

Could you please program the 'bot so that it can understand that situation?

Thanks in advance, Michelet-密是力 (talk) 07:26, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

I have to reject this request. Too many possibilities for regressions... Siebrand 10:37, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Hmm, isn't it easier just to accept that we need to have duplicates of these particular files (and remove Duplicate so that they don't disturb maintenance). Finn Rindahl (talk) 19:50, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
These files need manual replacement, or semi-manual replacement with a manually operated bot. Period. Siebrand 01:12, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Bot request for Delinker

Commons:Bots says that CommonsDelinker is able to change categories. Could you instruct it to switch Category:Locator maps of cities in Ohio to Category:Locator maps of villages in Ohio for all files that depict Ohio place articles that are (on the English Wikipedia) categorised as villages? For example: Image:OHMap-doton-Butlerville.png depicts Butlerville, which is included in Category:Villages in Ohio. Nyttend (talk) 14:21, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

It is only possible to move complete categories to another one (rename or merge). Other types of recats have to be performed semi-automatically. It is possible to use replace.py with include/exclude on the file name, but that's about it... Siebrand 15:56, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi Milgesch. I have no idea what you are talking about. I personally have not changed any categories in that area. It may be that User:SieBot has made changes to categories that you are talking about, but usually that is through commands that other admins issue. If you give me some information to work with (for example a link to an edit), I can be of assistence in finding out 'who dunnit' so you can talk to him/her. Cheers! Hi, Siebrand! Look at "Special:Watchlist" of User:Milgesch all changes on 05.01. 18:01 - 18:05 by User:SieBot. Nicht jeder hat die Möglichkeit, ständig COMMONS zu überwachen! Allein um die von mir hochgeladenen Bilder jetzt vernünftig neu zu kategorisieren, nämlich
Kategorie hier nicht auch   Category not here too
 | Unterkategorie hier nicht auch   Category not here too
   | Unterkategorie
      | Unterkategorie hier richtig  Category here correct
also nur einmal und nicht innerhalb des gleichen Baumes mehrfach / only once and not repeatedly
--Milgesch (talk) 16:31, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

(Indent reset) I think that you have to set watches on the concerned categories, read a bit the help files here, re-read my user page as I understand perfectly what you are saying, document better the needed category structure, propose a better category structure if needed. All categories can be restructured and moved by a bot, so there is no need to make a drama out of it. I am moving more than 100 categories per week, problems occur, mainly by bad documentation or communication, but nothing that cannot be repaired. --Foroa (talk) 10:50, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Delinker

Hi Siebrand,

I noticed that CommonsDelinker was not active (why??) in the German wiki between December 30 and January 4. I presume that there are many images which are deleted in that period and still are included in articles. Do you have an idea how to find and remove them automatically? May Delinker do this subsequently? Regards, --S[1] 21:56, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

If delinker does not run during a certain timeframe, there is no way to automagically have the links removed. Siebrand 15:22, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Why did you delete the redirect page for category:condom? Obviously, if people are searching for condom they want to see condoms, and there is a category for that, why can't we just let them go there?

See Condom and Category:Condoms. Have fun, be safe. Siebrand 08:01, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Delinker: Universal replace of a to be deleted PNG by a SVG

Hi Siebrand, I would like to close this DR by deleting this PNG image because of its unclear copyright status. I hesitate, however, a little bit because this image is used on 52 pages in 20 projects. The best approach, I think, would be the universal replacement of this image by this SVG. This proposal was already supported and implemented by the experts on fr-wp. I intended to ask the delinker to do the same for the remaining projects. I found, however, following notice:

Note: To avoid World War III, CommonsDelinker will ignore a command to rename an image if the new image is svg and the original is not.

Is there any magic to convince the delinker to perform the replacement in this case? Thanks, AFBorchert (talk) 22:00, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

I can put a replace command from any to any directly in the database table so that the check is circumvented. Siebrand 23:38, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
P.s. Be aware that replacing flags and coas is always a bitch. Most of it has to be done in template hell by hand anyway. And you'll have a handful or more wikis where you will have to make Editprotected requests... Siebrand 23:39, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
It would be very kind if you could put that replace command directly in the database table. Thank you. As soon as this gets processed, I will see what remains and take care of that manually. Thanks for your help, AFBorchert (talk) 00:09, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
I've done it now myself through 20 projects and closed the DR. Fortunately, there were no edit-protected templates with this image. Cheers, AFBorchert (talk) 21:24, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Hi Siebrand,

I understand you run this bot. Maybe it could stop subst'ing the Welcome templates on user talk pages ? As templates like this are now being autotranslated, it would make sense to keep the template unsubst'ed so that the user can see it in his/her native language.

Thank you, le Korrigan bla 09:15, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Have someone change the configuration of mw:Extension:NewUserMessage; the bot no longer welcomes new users, because it always does it too late. The extension does it on account creation. There are those that insist on substituting, and others that do not. I really do not care, I only care about users getting information as soon as possible. Cheers! Dag Siebrand, is het mogelijk dat de delinker een probleempje heeft? Hello! Please explain a s a p why you left me a "warning" about this file here and not the original uploader! I'm not too fond of unwarranted "warnings" nor of huge templates giving out reprimands that do not appear to be justified. EmilEikS (talk) 20:00, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

It's because you were the latest uploader, and that's how the script works. -mattbuck (Talk) 21:25, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
So the person who actually uploaded the picture from the beginning gets no such warning? What constructive purpose does than that script serve and why it is used at all to send messages to people who are not responsible? I'm sorry, but I still don't get it, though not for any lack of wanting to understand. EmilEikS (talk) 22:10, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Hello,

Can i ask you why your bot has renamed Category:Bulk carriers to Category:Bulk carriers (ships)? I do not think the brackets are necessary, i don't know anything else than ships called "bulk carriers" (there are indeed some freight trucks / train carriages designed for bulk loading but they are not called this way). The category name is less intuitive now. Can you explain why this renaming took place ?

Thanks, le Korrigan bla 14:29, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

See the history of User:CommonsDelinker/commands around the time of the disputed changes. Another Commons admin gave the command to recategorise... Siebrand 15:35, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
This contains most of the history. I agreed because bulk carrier can be a generic word too for non technical people. Experience shows that the more one is precise, the less there are categorisation errors. --Foroa (talk) 15:55, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
Well, practice is also to avoid unnecessary over-precision. If it isn't broken, then don't fix it. I really do not understand this renaming. People who will place images in this category are those who have an idea of what a bulk carrier is. I don't see what other meanings it can have, and indeed the Wikipedia page doesn't give other meanings either. I still disagree, qnd by the way I have put most images in this category so I think I know what I am talking about... le Korrigan bla 18:38, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
When you google around (for example for "bulk carriers" trucks), you will see that there is a whole industry around bulk carriers (cranes, trucks, material handling, companies, statistics, ...) so that category:bulk carriers will overtime become the top category again with the Bulk carriers (ships) as a subcategory. --Foroa (talk) 19:16, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
Fair enough. However the key word here is "over time". Don't anticipate too much on categories / articles which may be created "over time" as they may, in fact, take years to appear, and in the meantime bother everybody else who is looking for the category / article. Keep it simple, until you really need to change it : currently the old category redirects to the new one, so I really don't see the point, if it's not going to be used. Oh well, never mind... le Korrigan bla 19:29, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Not a good idea. "Antique" is a bad name for such things. "Ancient" would be correct. "Antique" is often together used with "Antiquities", and this could be also from 1000, 1500 or 1900. Marcus Cyron (talk) 16:17, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

It's about the picture rotatie_1massa.png from http://nl.wikibooks.org/wiki/Klassieke_Mechanica/Voorwerpendynamica#Basiswet. when I try to upload a new version, I am not allowed to overwrite the existing figure. Is this because I am not the person/bot who put it on Commons? In that case, instead having some bot moving pictures, it would be better to send a message to the owner asking him to move the desired pictures. --Huibc (talk) 19:15, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

SieBot and its moving mistakes

Hello, thank You for movings.

1) SieBot in the tens of cases returned a previous change as here. It is necessary to use such sequence of procedure steps, that first the whole moving of one category is finished and the moving of the next can be started after it.

2) Until the correction of commons-links at wikipedias is assured, it is necessary to keep the old categories and to put the template Seecat into each of them. Until all links from wikipedias are corrected, the old categories wouldn't be deleted (and wouldn't remain without Seecat).

Could you adjust the doing of SieBot according this experiences, please? --ŠJů (talk) 19:20, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

The problem seems to occur when two parallel threads do (almost) simultaneous moves on the same file (this occurs since the problem of the wrong summary edit in the move Siebot has been corrected). It looks as if the move instructions are not atomic or not interlocked.
I am very much against all these seecats all over the place for many reasons as in the end, it will make HotCat completely unusable and train people with the wrong names. I would suggest to delete all source categories by default but leaving in the edit summary and deletion log a text "moved to category:destination" (as is done when a category with a move request has been moved). Multichill promised that his bot would pickup this edit summary and automatically adapt the Commonscats templates in the various wikipedias. --Foroa (talk) 20:02, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

HotCat can work with "seecat" categories, as far as I know. If an user choose any category, HotCat insert the goal category into the page, not the choosen old category. Thus many of kept "seecat" categories can make our work easier. (Now I don't mean the set of movings mentioned above.)

But there is very more serious problem here. There are many category changes made through CommonsDelinker page and very easily now, but nobody allows for keeping of links from wikipedias. So I tell: the old categories should not be deleted until all links from wikipedias are corrected. If some bot will change the links from all wikipedias within a minute, the old category can by deleted in the next minute. If nobody will change the links from wikipedias, the old categories should be kept until this problem will be solved systematically. --ŠJů (talk) 00:27, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Hotcat gets saturated and non-functional when there are too many cats with similar names. Moreover, it trains the people with wrong names and prefixes, so because for example, too many "people of xxx" categories exist, people create over and obver again "people from xxx" categories because they think that this is the rule. There are hundreds of wikipedias using commons and hundreds of other consuming sites, so waiting till all links are changed is not realistic at all. They just should not link to categories but to commons galleries with the same names as their articles. Those galleries can then point to the right cats and could be easily changed when categories are moved. --Foroa (talk) 06:56, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
