Thanks for uploading File:Memorial Day 2015 (17978995768).jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with GFDL to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with PD-self to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:( CEA ) Demonstration against the election fraud, to support free and fair elections in Russia - The Hague, Netherlands December, 10, 2011 (6488392045).jpg, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.
While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you! |

File tagging File:Luz Escamilla (1).jpg
This media was probably deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:Luz Escamilla (1).jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the No permission since tag with on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded (:File:Luz Escamilla (1).jpg ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

File:All Politics CNN Time.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.) Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Hi! It seems you have uploaded more than 1200 files that ended in Category:Flickr public domain images needing specific copyright tags.
The problem is that you added PDMark-owner and Flickreview bot does not pass that license tag. You should use PD-author-FlickrPDM instead if you think that Flickr user is the photographer. --MGA73 (talk) 15:12, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
- I will fix them with my bot this time but please use the other license in the future. Example File:2023 LLSWS Opening Ceremony (53096809365).jpg. --MGA73 (talk) 15:21, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
- When you see this flickr license, please instead type in PD-author-FlickrPDM and the flickrbot will pass the image. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 20:15, 23 April 2024 (UTC)

A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Cleveland Museum of Art (51787431984).jpg, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image".
Thank you! |

deleting the same duplicate file for the fourth time
Hi. Please would you review your uploading practice, especially from Flickr. I am about to delete a duplicate file for the fourth time in three days. So that you see this message and are able to heed the request, I have removed your ability to upload files for 31 hours. We all have better things to do than re-mop the same space repetitively. Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 05:57, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Billinghurst Which file? If it's one from Erik Dost, please hold off on deleting it for a few days. I cannot curate while uploading the Flickr photo album of his that I am uploading through Flickr2Commons. I have to curate after they are on Commons.
- Flickr2Commons keeps crashing due to the size of the Flickr album, making it impossible to do it the normal way. SecretName101 (talk) 05:59, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
- It is ~100 files. I have no idea which album it is. Cleaning up afterwards is NOT the way to address this. We need that sort of checking beforehand. The deletion and cleanup process is not so convenient as the upload tools. Lots more rigour is needed in the clean up. — billinghurst sDrewth 06:02, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Billinghurst You create a tool that does not crash on albums in excess of 12,000 files, and then come back to me. If not, please cope. SecretName101 (talk) 06:03, 29 April 2024 (UTC)

- Special:Log/upload/SecretName101 No! Don't give me that rubbish approach. You don't get a special right to just upload someone else's images. Please check your attitude at the door. Just because they are somewhere else, doesn't mean that they have to be here. — billinghurst sDrewth 06:13, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
- This album is full of quality images of architecture, sports events, festivals, etc. There's a purpose to my uploading them. Nobody elected you king of this collaborative project, so do not gatekeep other people's contributions. SecretName101 (talk) 06:16, 29 April 2024 (UTC)

- @Billinghurst SERIOUSLY. You put a 31 day block on my account. SERIOUSLY? SecretName101 (talk) 06:17, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
- Please keep a civil tongue. It would appear that you did not actually read what I wrote, so I suggest that you do. AND please don't abuse admins, we have enough work to keep the 100 or so active admins busy compared to all the uploaders.
These images seem to have been uploaded previously, I said that. So please find a way to selectively upload what we need, not bludgeon the place with duplicates; not to create repeat unnecessary work. — billinghurst sDrewth 06:25, 29 April 2024 (UTC)- @Billinghurst Apologies for being a bit heated. It’s a little late where I am currently at so my somewhat sleepy eyes misread it as 31 days. You can understand why one would see that as an excessive and rash block length.
- I just realized it was hours and not days. While I am still disappointed you were so quick to but a block, I am far less offended and shocked at that. SecretName101 (talk) 06:33, 29 April 2024 (UTC)

Thank you! |

File:Slafkovsky (1).jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation.
(It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Copyright status: File:Secret Service Director Hosts RNC Public Safety Briefing.webm
This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Secret Service Director Hosts RNC Public Safety Briefing.webm.
Thank you. |

File:Biden and Harris being briefed by DHS on the morning of July 14, 2024 GSdj81RXIAAPyGu.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

2019 Chicago Mayoral election map
Hi, I noticed on File:Chicago mayoral election, 2019 runoff (Lori Lightfoot).svg that the colors don't follow the standard increments of 10% (50-60, 60-70, etc.), instead differing in shades for every 5%. I was wondering if you could please update that map to follow the standard 10% incrementation, as it makes adding new maps (such as a precinct map or first round results) easier for other users since they don't have to use a modified incrementation scheme. Alternatively, I am more than willing to make an updated version with the standard 10% incrementation for shading since making maps is my speciality and you seem to be a very busy user. Best regards, Incognito melon (int:Talkpagelinktext) 21:31, 28 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Incognito melon The latter would be much appreciated, if you could upload a version with that scheme, ideally under a new file name. SecretName101 (int:Talkpagelinktext) 21:32, 28 July 2024 (UTC)

Intersection categories
Numerous community discussions have reached consensus that highly-specific intersection categories - especially category trees to support a small number of files - are not appropriate for Commons. Please do not create category trees like Category:Culture of Uncasville, Connecticut and Category:Uncasville, Connecticut by year.

Twitter filenames
Hi, you uploaded a bunch of files from the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts Twitter feed that have meaningless filenames. I changed a couple for you, but it really is your responsibility to give them descriptive names. Please go through your upload history and fix these.
