Undeletions
[edit]Hi. Would you mind checking files for licensing after you undelete them? Otherwise, admins like myself see tags like "fair use" and think they're copyright violations.[1] Magog the Ogre (talk) (contribs) 15:49, 4 January 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, sure. I designed the workflow to eliminate the deletion nominations, but indeed if the file was additionally nominated for speedy deletion I could have overlooked that the tag is still there. Thanks for noticing.--Ymblanter (talk) 15:51, 4 January 2020 (UTC)
The first two relate to 1924 American films, now public domain. I have no idea what the third image is, so that one may have to stay deleted. Abzeronow (talk) 17:04, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- I restored the first two, though they can benefit from an information template. The third one did not have description, does not have a meaningful name, and I can not say anything looking at the photo, so we best leave it deleted.--Ymblanter (talk) 17:19, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
Please block and delete
[edit]Please block both Inatewi (talk · contribs) and チルレミ (talk · contribs). And delete file uploaded by both user.
- There are too many uploads, and I do not see why they are not appropriate. You would need to open a deletion request.--Ymblanter (talk) 18:13, 8 January 2020 (UTC)
- Some one already opened. All photos copied from my Twitter account.
WD infobox
--A.Savin 18:50, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
Ymblanter (talk) 18:59, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
- Category:Tomb of Tatyana Nikolaevna Yusupova выглядит у вас так же, как и вышестоящая Category:Saint Michael's Church (Arkhangelskoye, Krasnogorsk District of Moscow Oblast), если не считать наличие фото в карточке и количество файлов в категории? --A.Savin 19:07, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
Russia copyright question
[edit]I'm wondering if the Auschwitz liberation film (claimed to be public domain here and here; uploaded to commons here) and screenshots thereof (for instance, these images on commons, and possibly this one) are public domain. It was filmed by Soviet military in January and February 1945, and made public on February 19, 1946 at the Nuremberg trial. Since Russia copyright was 50 years from disclosure at the time of the URAA date, I believe the film would have narrowly missed that cutoff. But I was thinking that it might qualify under {{PD-RU-exempt}} as "news reports on events and facts, which have a purely informational character (daily news reports, television programs...". Another theory is that they were released into the public domain by United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and/or Belarussian State Archive of Documentary Film and Photography. What do you think? Buidhe (talk) 07:34, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
- This goes beyond my knowledge. {{PD-RU-exempt}} looks possible to me, though for safety I would ask at the Copyright village pump. Concerning copyright release by either Holocaust Memorial Museum and/or Belarussian State Archive, I doubt it since none of them can reasonably claim they have copyright to the film.--Ymblanter (talk) 07:50, 12 January 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Why was this photo deleted? It is an official state of New Jersey photo: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright_status_of_works_by_subnational_governments_of_the_United_States#New_Jersey — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wjsmith76 (talk • contribs) 19:44, 13 January 2020 (UTC)

[edit]This British painter died in london in 1949, I can't find a reason why the URAA wants to extend copyright beyond 71 years. Please explain why you extended it? Broichmore (talk) 12:10, 25 January 2020 (UTC)
- His works were not in public domain at the URAA date, which is 1966, and then we have to worry also when they become free in the US, which is 95 years after the publication (which unfortunately for most paintings was not specified).--Ymblanter (talk) 12:19, 25 January 2020 (UTC)
- Controversial, so needs a DR. The copyright reasoning has zero examples where paintings created under UK law and are PD have the literalist URAA hypothetical pursued in a US court. No 'significant doubt' demonstrated. --Fæ (talk) 20:59, 25 January 2020 (UTC)
- [2]. I did not delete the files, and I am under no obligation to undelete them. DR is not applicable for the files which have already been deleted as a result of DR, it could be an undeletion request, but it might be more reasonable to go back to Commons:Village_pump/Copyright because I doubt any admin would unilaterally undelete a copyrighted file.--Ymblanter (talk) 21:05, 25 January 2020 (UTC)

Copyright violations
[edit]All these files are probably copyright violations. Could you check?--Dipralb (talk) 18:53, 29 January 2020 (UTC)

Category: NoFoP-Russia
[edit]I am going to do a few DRs for specific files in that category since somebody brought that up in a DR. Would this be considered de minimis File:Bg-p-DSC 0627.JPG? Also, all in the Category Category:Monument to Alexander Popov in Saint Petersburg might need to be deleted, but I want to keep the category even if empty (1959 statue, sculptor died in 1954) Abzeronow (talk) 16:58, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
- I would say File:Bg-p-DSC 0627.JPG is not de minimis. Concerning empty categories, they are amenable for speedy deletion, I do not see how an empty category could be kept (unless nobody notices).--Ymblanter (talk) 17:06, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
Blank_UK_Map.png : "Deleted" image is still there because it was renamed
[edit]Thank you for your work at Commons:Deletion_requests/File:Blank_UK_Map.png. Unfortunately, I notice that between my nomination (25 Jan) and the deletion (3 Feb), the image was moved to File:Blank Britain Map.png on 26 January, so only the redirect- from the original name- was deleted.
As the decision to delete was against the image itself (else it would have been renamed by ourselves), I'd assume this means the moved/renamed image should still be deleted.
Hope this can be done, and thanks again for your help! Ubcule (talk) 19:04, 4 February 2020 (UTC)
- That was quick, thank you! :-) Ubcule (talk) 19:07, 4 February 2020 (UTC)

Teatro Novosibirsk question
[edit]I want to check on what the following files are before I add an undeletion date. File:Teatro_novosibirsk_disegno1.jpg & File:Teatro_novosibirsk_modello.jpg. The latter seems like a model so if one of the architects died in 1959, an Undeletion date of 2034 would seem appropriate. (although Russian Wikipedia seems to point to a 1969 death, which would mean 2044 undeletion date) Is the former a drawing or some piece of art by the architects? Abzeronow (talk) 18:35, 6 February 2020 (UTC)
- The first one is a drawing, the second one seems to be a photo of a 3D model. I would say the second one is hopeless (we have no idea who made the photo, and the determination can not be done without this information). The architect died in 1969 (I do not see any sources for 1959), making the PD date 2044.--Ymblanter (talk) 19:09, 6 February 2020 (UTC)

- On the other hand, two weeks is way too long. I will ask now at one of the village pumps.--Ymblanter (talk) 20:31, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
- I didn’t mean going through them one-by-one, sorry if it wasn’t clear. But I think there’s some page where admins should list such requests for the bot, isn’t there? —Tacsipacsi (talk) 20:43, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
- I am pretty sure I have never done this in my life, and I am one of the 10 most active admins here. There is of course a chance that I screwed it up completely, and I should have done something like this after every deletion, but I would normally expect that it is not needed. Let us wait for what folks would say at the Village Pump/Technical.--Ymblanter (talk) 20:48, 7 February 2020 (UTC)

@Ymblanter: Meinst Du "Fair Use"? Wie funktioniert das? Was muss ich in meinem konkreten Fall tun? Herr eL 17:43, 8 März 2020 (ETC) — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 95.90.166.216 (talk) 16:43, 9 March 2020 (UTC)

Please open the discussion
[edit]Hello. Your closure of Commons:Administrators'_noticeboard/User_problems#Magog_the_Ogre does not address the issues raised there. You should at least wait until the thread becomes stale or stable. This closure is at best controversial. Please re-open the discussion. Thanks 4nn1l2 (talk) 21:21, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
- No. These issues can not be addressed in this way. The discussion just creates more drama and does not have a chance to go anywhere.--Ymblanter (talk) 21:23, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
- This hurts the ability of the commuity to discuss the issues in calmness. If multiple users disagree with your early closure, there is something wrong with it. I am still waiting for Magog the Ogre to become online and respond to my questions rasied at their talk page. Then I will contribute to the discussion in a meaningful manner. You even didn't give me a chance to express my opinion. Please reconsider your position. 4nn1l2 (talk) 21:33, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
- I am sorry but this is not going to happen. We had enough drama yesterday and today, and we do not need more drama right now.--Ymblanter (talk) 21:35, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
- According to Commons:Administrators/De-adminship, the decision should be left to a 'crat. Please do not escalate the situation. Your controversial action is against your intention (i.e., "stay calm - relax"). 4nn1l2 (talk) 21:39, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
- If a crat decides to undo my closure I would be perfectly fine with the situation.--Ymblanter (talk) 21:45, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
- Never say I'm not one to argue against myself on procedure. Policy says only that crats may close the deadminship discussion if there was no prior consensus, not that crats must close the prior consensus discussion. The last two at least from memory (I opened them) were closed by an admin. GMGtalk 21:49, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
- Apart from the closer, the mere possibility of discussion should be given to the community. See Commons:Administrators' noticeboard/User problems/Archive 71#User:Jcb or Commons:Administrators' noticeboard/Archive 69#What appears to be an inappropriate indef block of User:Rowan Forest for example. What you have done, Ymblanter, is shutting down the possibility of discussion. 4nn1l2 (talk) 22:26, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
- No, it was not shutting down the possibility of discussion. It was cutting drama off.--Ymblanter (talk) 22:31, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
- If a crat decides to undo my closure I would be perfectly fine with the situation.--Ymblanter (talk) 21:45, 27 March 2020 (UTC)

- And let us now call things by their proper names. A bunch of users were disappointed that they were not allowed to create more drama, and instead of looking at their own behavior they continued to harass me to the point when I started to worry about my health condition and then I had to give up. I am seriously disappointed that the community has not stopped that. These users must have been shown the door. I am not willing to serve this community any more. Obviously the request was not vetoed. However, the same person also requested deletion of
which was challenged. The files were kept due to 'no valid reason for deletion' by @~riley. The reason for the deletion request was imho not valid as this is an official govt decument issued by a govt official and thus the underwriter cannot claim any copyright.

You just closed the DR for this file without addressing the coyright issue: missing US PD tag. There’s nothing on there that indicates that the file will be automatically deleted if the tag is not added. What’s the proper procedure for dealing with this? Brianjd (talk) 06:43, 23 May 2020 (UTC)
- Why do not you add it yourself if you are so sure the tag is needed? Or perhaps you have doubts that a 19th century painting is out of copyright in the US?--Ymblanter (talk) 06:51, 23 May 2020 (UTC)
- Do you think the tag is not needed? Given that you are an administrator, your opinion carries a lot of weight here. The current copyright notice does say:
- You must also include a United States public domain tag to indicate why this work is in the public domain in the United States.
- I interpret the word “must” as meaning that failure to add such a tag makes the file eligible for deletion. I don’t remember seeing anything that contradicts this. Normal procedure seems to be to delete files that are missing the necessary copyright notices.
- As for adding the tag myself, I am not sure that it is really a 19th century painting and this is not my area of expertise. The source indicated is in Russian, which I cannot read. I assume there are many other users who would feel more confident to check this. In any case, isn’t the burden on the uploader to add the necessary copyright notices? Brianjd (talk) 07:11, 23 May 2020 (UTC)
- The source says "around 1800". I am pretty sure it is not a standard practice to add to every file a RD-US tag. In fact, I have never seen a tag added to old artwork, this being just a random example, but I have seen literally thousands of files without a tag. This is just because {{PD-Art-100}} (which is in the file) should cover PD-US in all cases if applied correctly, I can not think of any exceptions (in contrast to {{PD-Art-70}}). PD-US is added when there are issues related to recent expiration of copyright, such as early copyright expiration in the US due to failure to extend the copyright, or, for example, to make sure that despite URAA provisions the file is free in the US. You are welcome of course to discuss this at the Copyright village pump, but this is my current understanding,--Ymblanter (talk) 07:19, 23 May 2020 (UTC)
- Actually, the file contained {{PD-Art}} and even {{PD-Art-100}} says a US PD tag is required. I’m confused. But another user has since fixed this file, so I’ll take it up at the village pump. Brianjd (talk) 07:39, 23 May 2020 (UTC)

Category:Moscowskaya Street, Saratov
(talk) 19:13, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
Ymblanter (talk) 19:19, 6 September 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Hello Ymblanter
I see you restored File:Weiss Obsession.jpg and File:Weiss-melancholik.jpg by en:Wojciech Weiss (died December 1950) as now PD. However, I think its works won't be PD until January 1 2021 (1950 + 70 years + rest of the year). Could you check?
Happy PD day!

Please participate in the Universal Code of Conduct consultation on Wikimedia Commons!
[edit]Dear Ymblanter
Thank you for your hard work to create the sum of all knowledge that is freely sharable to every single human being across the world. As our diverse community grows, we need a guideline that will help all of our work collectively and constructively where everyone feels safe, welcomed, and part of a team. That is why the Wikimedia movement is working on establishing a global guideline called the Universal Code of Conduct, often referred to as UCoC.
After the months-long policy consultation, we have prepared a policy (available in many languages) that has been ratified by the Board of Trustees. We’re currently in the second phase of the process. During this round of consultation, we want to discuss the implementation of this policy. As a member of the functionary team of Wikimedia Commons, your opinion on enforcement is of great value. We want to hear from you on how this policy can be enforced on the Wikimedia Commons community and what might be needed to do so. There are a few enforcement questions so you can easily outline your answers based on them. Please do not hesitate to bring any more questions/challenges you think are not yet discussed.
The discussion is taking place on Commons:Universal Code of Conduct consultation. You can also share your thoughts by replying to this message (Please ping me so I get notified), posting your message on my talk page. I am aware that some thoughts cannot be expressed publicly, so you can always share your opinion by emailing me as well.
As a valued member of the Commons community, please share your thoughts, ideas, and experiences that relate to UCoC. Let us know what needs to be improved so we can build a more friendly and cooperative space to increase editor engagement and retention of new users.
Wikimedia projects are governed by you. So, it is you who needs to step up to ensure a safe, comfortable, and pleasant working environment.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you! Wikitanvir (WMF) (talk) 10:18, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
Hi Ymblanter. Would you mind taking a look at this file? It appears to be a re-upload of a file of the same name that you deleted on January 31. The uploader is the same and just from looking at all of the file's they recently uploaded as {{Cc-by-sa-4.0}}, it seems that they might not be fully understanding COM:L. All of the uploads are attributed to the artist en:Draft:Rita Asfour, but some like File:Rita Asfour Vegas PBS Documentaries.jpg, File:Rita Asfour Art Her Way PBS.jpg, File:UNLV Exhibition Guide 2016.jpg and File:W&J Sloane Brochure.jpg are probably copyvios. Please also note Commons:Undeletion requests/Current requests#Rita Asfour Self Portrait.jpg. This editor probably means well and is only trying to add images to the draft they're working on, but I think they probably should be advised to slow down a bit and stop uploading files with questionable licensing. -- Marchjuly (talk) 03:00, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
- I mass-deleted all their uploads and left a talk page message. There is a chance that they are trying to write an article about themselves, but then they need to contact OTRS.--Ymblanter (talk) 06:38, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you for taking a look at these. -- Marchjuly (talk) 13:55, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not sure they quite understood post because they seem to have uploaded File:Southwest Art Gallery Magazine Cover, October 1972.jpg a few hours later. Maybe an {{End of copyvios}} as a last warning will get their attention. -- Marchjuly (talk) 14:14, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
- Done--Ymblanter (talk) 15:16, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
- Just for reference, Ggae1885 has stated on English Wikipedia at en:User talk:Ggae1885#NOTICE From Ggae1885! and en:User talk:Marchjuly#Deletion of Rita Asfour Self Portrait that he is the husband of en:Draft:Rita Asfour and was given permission to upload the files. I don't think this makes any difference regarding File:Southwest Art Gallery Magazine Cover, October 1972.jpg and a few other of the files that were deleted, but perhaps the rest can be resolved via OTRS. I advised him to discuss this with you on his Commons user talk page if he has any further questions. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:41, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
- Done--Ymblanter (talk) 15:16, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
Please take a short survey regarding UCoC
[edit]Hello Ymblanter,
I would like to inform you that we now have a survey in place to take part in the UCoC consultation. It is not a long one and should take less than 10 minutes to complete. You can take the survey even if you have already participated in the on-wiki consultation. It has a different set of questions and allows you to participate anonymously and privately.
As a member of the Commons functionaries, your opinion is especially essential. Please click here to participate in the survey.
You are still welcome to participate in the on-wiki discussions. If you prefer you can have your say by sending me an email. You can also drop me an email if you want to have a one-to-one chat.
Thank you for your participation! Wikitanvir (WMF) 13:54, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
Printscreens of user group deleted
[edit]Hello, i am from the user group Shared Knowledge and i noticed that some images of our activities, that i uploaded, are deleted (such as this one. Is it because it showed the program being used (ZOOM) or it was 'issue' of another thing? Dandarmkd (talk) 14:11, 19 February 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, indeed, the issue was zoom (formally speaking, this is a screenshot of non-free software).--Ymblanter (talk) 14:15, 19 February 2021 (UTC)
Violation of renaming policy (Russian nationalism?)
[edit]In contrast to your native Russian language Belarusian "маскалізацыя" (don't confuse with Russian "москаль, москализация") isn't offensive slur. It is widely used in reliable Belarusian sources which is shown in Belarusian Wikipedia: Русіфікацыя Беларусі, дакладней[1] маскаліза́цыя[2][3][4][5][b][6][7] (Rusificacyja, or rather maskalizacyja). So you should convince the local Belarusian community before making such statements and corresponding renamings. Considering your declared lack of knowledge of the Belarusian language I demand you to revert your renaming. --Kazimier Lachnovič (talk) 09:09, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
- No, you have to convince the Commons community that it is acceptable to have offensive titles. And if you revert without a discussion, I am going to block your account on the spot.--Ymblanter (talk) 09:13, 20 February 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Ymblanter, I've taken the liberty to restore File:هايدي موسى (cropped).jpg, as the source-image, File:هايدي موسى.jpg, which I had mistakenly deleted, is indeed properly licensed at source. --Túrelio (talk) 08:22, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
- No problem. I am still unsure what is the real source of the image is (is it Youtube or Twitter), but indeed this does not look like the speedy deletion material.--Ymblanter (talk) 08:27, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
Deletions
[edit]Hello Ymblanter! Can you please stop deleting and reload my images please? A1Cafell made deletions request on over 500 of my uploads, just because of missing URL, although most are clearly government origin. I am adding URL currently, but as I am having a real life and taking care of a whole country in German Wikipedia, I can not adding all URL in such short time. It will takes months. You can see the complete list here: [6]. So far 96 files are re-edited, so the DR can be lifted there. It is clearly visible, there is no danger of CV. It is just a formal problem. The case was discussed here: [7]. Greetings, --JPF (talk) 19:40, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
- These nominations are not going to stay open there for a year. You need some sustainable solution.--Ymblanter (talk) 19:43, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
- If you see to my list at my discussion page, THERE IS a solution. I am adding the URL, as I have time. Over hundred added URLs since 23 February should be proof enough. There is no need to delete the images and destroy their linking into articles, which had to redone, after reload of the images. It would be more helpful to delete the DR on the files, which now have an URL or are clearly PD TL Gov, as they are insignias or posters of the government. --JPF (talk) 21:40, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
- I can not restore a file which has no source. What I can do is to restore it and to open the DR, but then the same DR tomorrow will be closed as delete by somebody else. You would need to go probably to the administrator's noticeboard and try to get these frozen.--Ymblanter (talk) 21:47, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
- As I linked before, the case was still discuss. I am not mother tongue English and I am not able to work with this bureaucratism on Commons. There seem to be a dozen of pages to be informed for a single issue. In this time I could search better URLs. I need support for this bullshit of over 500 DR at once. I guess, it is more in interest of Commons to save images, which are not CV, until the information is completed, than destroying the work of two years, just to keep formal procedures. But now I am going to bed. I need to take my 5 h sleep before going to work. I am really fed up with this stupid thing, causing pressure with no benefit for the project. I am now editing over 15 years in Wikipedia, but this stupidity is bringing me close to end my support here. --JPF (talk) 22:00, 9 March 2021 (UTC)

I guess, Commons admins are never having solutions? --JPF (talk) 18:53, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
- I am sorry but it was not me who uploaded hundreds of files without a source. It was not me who nominated them for speedy deletion. It was not me who transferred them to slow deletion. I do not see why suddenly I should restore these files, only to have them deleted tomorrow. When you are done with finding the sources for other ones, please come back, I will restore the files and will expect that the sources come withing a day or so.--Ymblanter (talk) 18:57, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
- To be honest, I'm pretty fed up. I have said that I realize that the URL must be submitted. I said that I do. I can prove that I am doing this in the time I am spending all my free time on weekdays, in the time I should be writing about the now erupting corona crisis in the country I am in charge of in the German Wikipedia. I pointed out that I need the pictures with the source to be able to search for them. I said that I need time to process 500 deletion requests. And what do I read from you? "It's your own fault for uploading images to Commons for a year, and for imaging articles that rarely cover a country as completely as another in Wikipedia." What is your job as an admin? To make sure Commons is up and running or to lecture and obstruct authors who have made a formal mistake and want to correct it? What makes more sense from your point of view? That 500 images get a correct credit or that no more images are uploaded because there is absolutely no support? What is your goal? --JPF (talk) 20:04, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
- At this point, I am fed up as well. Commons:Undeletion requests is at your service.--Ymblanter (talk) 20:10, 10 March 2021 (UTC)

- Listen: When starting my request here, I didn't say, you made a mistake by deleting these photos. I just asked for support to make it possible to use the photos correctly in Commons. Your answer sounds like you do not care about this goal. I asked for help in a complex problem. Splitting the case makes no sense and I am tired of hearing "You are wrong here", while you are writting on your user page: "I am currently keeping my admin activity at a minimum and do not participate in community discussions". If you do, you would hear of the problem before deleting the images. Maybe it would have simplfied the problem. Do you know the movie "The Twelve Tasks of Asterix"? Reminds me of the task to get A38. --JPF (talk) 20:23, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
Please restore Dick Buitelaar image
[edit]Dear Ymblanter, You deleted the Dick Buitelaar.jpg file because of a suspected copyright violation. Please reconsider. The images and videos of Stadsarchief Breda can be found here: https://stadsarchief.breda.nl/collectie/beeld/films-en-foto-s/. The 270,000 images in the Johan van Gurp/BN de Stem collection were donated to Stadsarchief Breda by the photographer, see: https://stadsarchief.breda.nl/bn-de-stem-johan-van-gurp. Stadsarchief Breda digitalized the images. When a user selects an image and clicks on "download", a screen appears with conditions of use. For use in the public domain, including commercial, the user is requested to fill out a form and submit it to Stadsarchief. This is the form: https://www.breda.nl/foto-bestellingen-uit-de-beeldbank-aanvragen/formulier. The user has to state the purpose of use, and I put as purpose: Upload on Wikimedia Commons with CC0 license. Basically the form is a disclaimer (Stadsarchief cannot be held responsible etc etc ) plus a requirement to mention name of photographer and source. Which I did. All this was perfectly acceptable, as confirmed to me in writing by Stadsarchief. I hope this clarifies.--Ruud Buitelaar (talk) 22:19, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
- It was stated on the Stadsarchief page that this only holds for private users, which does not look to me as cc-by (or cc-0).--Ymblanter (talk) 06:27, 10 March 2021 (UTC)

You have been blocked for a duration of {{{1}}}
[edit]Hi Ymblanter/Arxiv2020-21, I noticed you left a message saying
You have been blocked for a duration of {{{1}}}
on someone's usertalkpage a while ago and wondered what {{{1}}} means? see: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_talk:138.19.24.64#You_have_been_blocked_for_a_duration_of_{{{1}}}
Thanks in advance, Ottawahitech (talk) 15:37, 12 March 2021 (UTC)
- This is a standard template which I unfortunately have not yet figured out how to use properly. This {{{1}}} must be the duration of the block, which should be substituted into template. I do not block so often on Commons, and the English Wikipedia has a different template. Thanks for reminding me, I will try to invest some time into studying it.--Ymblanter (talk) 16:22, 12 March 2021 (UTC)
Restoring the deleted image.
[edit]Hi There,
In regards to this page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sertan_Saltan a friend of mine told me that I don't have a picture on the page. I am the artist in the article. I don't have a habit of googling myself, so I noticed this two years later :) but it seems like my self-portrait is deleted by you. I am okay with the painting being there I allow it, I can also provide a photo. I don't know how this works, I don't have an account, so I may not be able to follow up.
best

- Hi Sertan. Unfortunately, I had to delete the file (this was File:Portrait painter Sertan Saltan's self portrait.jpg) because the copyright status was not sufficiently clear. Could you please send a mail to Commons:OTRS (you do not need an account for this), they will help you to clarify the permission and they will restore the file themselves.--Ymblanter (talk) 14:18, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. I've sent a release email. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 89.23.247.5 (talk) 15:29, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
