You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
There are several tools to upload files.
Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.

While everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the project, one or more of your recent file uploads had missing or false information regarding its source and copyright status. Please note that Wikimedia Commons takes copyright rules and infringement very seriously. Files may only be uploaded and included if their copyright status meets the conditions stated in our licensing policy, and if their provenance is clearly documented. Files that fail to meet those conditions may be deleted, and users who fail to meet them may be blocked. Please follow our first steps, if you haven't already. Hello Gbawden, I do not understand why these photos are proposed to the deletion whereas it is me who took them. The last photo of Ben Kayiranga that I took on June 19, 2019 (Ben kayiranga.jpg) was not broadcast at all on any social network. Is it because I used the name "Ben kayiranga.jpg" for this new photo while another photo called also "Ben kayiranga.jpg" had been proposed to the suppression in April because it was already on the Internet and I did not know it. Thank you! File:Ben_kayiranga.jpg now appears to be the original unmodified file. File:Ben kayiranga Only You.jpg is larger now, but was still processed with image editing software at some point. When cropping is needed, it is preferable (easier too in my opinion) to upload the unmodified original and apply Croptool in lossless mode afterwards.
