Commons:Wiki Loves Monuments 2020 in Sweden
Wiki Loves Monuments is an international photographic competition to promote historic sites around the World through Wikimedia projects (mainly Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons). Everybody can participate. By submitting your photos to the competition, you share and help preserve the cultural heritage of Sweden for all fellow Swedes and the rest of the world, to enjoy through the internet.
In September, you may upload as many pictures as you want of cultural sites that you have visited. Pictures don't have to be taken in September, but must be uploaded during that month to be considered. Provide your photo with {{Wiki Loves Monuments 2020|SE}}
template. At the end of the month, the contest jury will begin evaluating the photographs and will choose the best 10 pictures of the monuments in Sweden, and ultimately in the world.

Why participate?
Sweden is a large country, with monuments wherever you go. In every corner, there are cultural heritage sites worth a visit. This competition is a great opportunity to bring your camera, go to the heritage sites listed, take some photos and show the planet and culture from your point of view to the rest of the world!
Participating in the competition is a great way to experiment and learn which photos that gain recognition. You certainly don't need to be a professional photographer to take photos useful for Wikipedia. Here's a great chance to try it out! Entries to the local competition are eligible for selection to the international finale and did we mention there are prices to win?
Wikimedia Sverige also has a technology pool with several cameras and lenses that we can lend. Read more about them, how you could use them for Wiki Loves Monuments, and other tips and ideas for WLM 2020 here.

The Jury
In September, you may upload as many pictures (old or new) as you want from the given monuments list that you have visited. At the end of the month, the national jury will evaluate the photographs and select the best 10 pictures of the cultural heritage monuments in Sweden to submit to represent in the international finale. If there are any doubts about the implementation of the rules, the jury decides.
Eligible objects
The competition name refers to monuments, but in the Swedish context this is to be interpreted as anything from four types of heritage sites: protected buildings, ancient remains, protected ships and working life museums. Each of these sites are given unique identification numbers by official authorities and any official site is eligible. The lists below may not be fully up to date.
- Category with lists of protected buildings
- Category with lists of ancient remains
- List of protected ships
- Category with lists of working life museums
Submit the identification number in the competition upload tool for automatic labelling. When uploading in other ways, use one of the templates below.
- {{BBR|id}} using Anläggnings-ID from Category with lists of protected buildings
- {{Fornminne|id}} using ID-nr from Category with lists of ancient remains
- {{K-Fartyg|id}} using Signal from List of protected ships
- {{Arbetslivsmuseum|id}} using ID-nr from Category with lists of working life museums
Template {{Wiki Loves Monuments 2020|SE}} is automatically added to the description when using the tool. If you upload in other ways, make sure to add this yourself.
Judging criteria
The jury will determine the winners of the international contest taking into the consideration the following criteria (in no particular order):
- Technical quality (sharpness, use of light, perspective etc.);
- Originality;
- Usefulness of the image for Wikipedia.
