•  Oppose While our considerations should chiefly be about the media, we are also allowed to consider the description page and licensing information in evaluating featured media candidates, by analogy to the featured picture process. My primary issue with this media is the User:PsamatheM/PermissionsV1 template used on the file description page, which has the potential effect of scaring away reusers and/or getting them to contact the author for different (non-free) license terms. As discussed at m:Legal/CC BY-SA licenses and social media, third-party uploads of freely licensed content to social media platforms is not a violation of the Creative Commons licenses, so this template is factually incorrect. I believe that the presence of misleading information on the description page is disqualifying and therefore oppose this media's candidacy.  Mysterymanblue  01:10, 23 October 2021 (UTC)

I took the template from one used by many other active contributors (via their QI submissions) - initial checks suggest the advice/legal page linked to have changed and stance on social media changed (and my info not been updated to reflect updated advice); but I will investigate and correct if it wrong. •  Weak oppose Looks like it'll pass regardless, but while it's a stable video with good light and sharpness, for one of the most ubiquitous and easily recorded animals in its range, I'd expect more for a squirrel video. That "more" could be it exhibiting a particular behavior like a vocalization, preening, cracking open a large nut, etc. -- something specific to edit around -- or otherwise if doing its usual foraging like this, IMO the framing should be either a little tighter to be a close-up or a little wider to avoid cutting off little pieces. •  Comment I would support this if 5 seconds were cut from the front and a half second from the end. Start when the drone is already moving and end before it stops. That way it's just a smooth movement through the clouds.     • (If mentioning commercial software breaks rules, please delete this comment or if discussion better elsewhere do move it). I've used Emulso on an iPad (for video recorded on camera not recorded on iPad) and it worked well. I now do everything in Final Cut Pro X but have yet to experiment with stabilisers (my video is using fixed mounts) - there is stabilisation within the software built-in, plus I believe 3rd party plug-ins but I've only ever used Emulso on iPad. @Rhododendrites stabilized, there are two versions(the file commit history). The one with the border will probably appear higher quality if viewed on same screen but the border removal was lossless and the apparent(seeming real or true, but not necessarily so.) quality degradation is a result of less viewable(non-black) pixels per area on the output device when compared with the version that has black-borders. Longer answer: a) the swimmers knew that I was filming as we were in the same group and nobody opposed before or after uploading; b) from the footage I filmed I chose the file where the individuals are not recognizable; c) if you look at the Category:Estonian Wikipedia summer days 2021 there are several pictures of events with different individuals, it was a semi-public event and the participants could assume that their participation in different events will be photographed/filmed and the fact was announced in the mailinglist of the event--Sillerkiil (talk) 10:34, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
