- Three of these were previouly kept. Spiral staris, while superbly photographed from nice angles, are not above COM:TOO to be copyrightable by the architect (if it even is the architect who "designed" these normal spiral stairs). Keep all. (t) Josve05a (c) 12:55, 6 November 2016 (UTC)
There was discussion with stairs in end of last year, Eleassar said 70+, i though 70, but it was at end of the year... so we kept. Now i see its 70+, so one more year needed. But since one was finalist of year. 2 others can or are FP, suppose we can skip for a month and a half to 2017. I thought its free since end of 2015-start 2016 (70 years). --Mile (talk) 13:29, 6 November 2016 (UTC)

This file was initially nominated for deletion by Inkiw. The DR closed by me as no valid reason for deletion. I am nominated this file again as author request in my talk page. More reason for deletion mention by Inkiw:
- The file is not realistically useful for an educational purpose.
- This file adds nothing educationally distinct to the collection of images the Commons already holds covering the same subject
- This file is of mediocre quality
-- Geagea (talk) 03:39, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
- Keep: File uploaded in 2007, and resolution is enoug (quality is just a subjective). Maybe still usefull for the Canis lupus familiaris articles or anything else. --Amitie 10g (talk) 04:29, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
- Keep. Mediocre quality compared to what? We have 4 images in Category:Cavachon. This one, apart for having way higher pixel count than any of the other three (more than them all combined!), is also the best of the four, in terms of subject framing and absence of distracting backgrounds. -- Tuválkin ✉ ✇ 05:38, 25 September 2015 (UTC)

Delete derivative work of a copyright sculpture made in 1997 without permission from the artist Ww2censor (talk) 15:07, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
- @Ww2censor: The sculpture has not a recognized artist, there are lots of images of this statue in commons, i don't know what is the problem with this one --Mirluls (talk) 21:53, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
- Where are the "lots of images of this statue"? If there are some they too should be deleted as derivative works unless they are de minimis. Ww2censor (talk) 22:45, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
- OK thanks. I now see the few image you have linked but because they are of a copyright memorial which is the central subject of the images these are probably in the same position as this one and should also be nominated for deletion. Normally for an article about the actual memorial, where it is not old enough to be in the public domain, on the enwiki like Mirador de la Flor one non-free image is acceptable to identify the memorial/sculpture such as Mega-Gem. Seems the photos have been published. I doubt there was a copyright notice attached. IMHO {{PD-US-no notice}} applies.

- For every one of these photos (with the exception of McBurney.jpg) I own the source material (industrial league basketball programs from the 40s and 50s) and I scoured them for copyright notices and there were none. With McBurney, I believe there is fair-use rationale (long deceased person, doubtful copyright license, no alternative for historically significant person) to keep, I just didn't know how to code it. As an aside, it might be worth looking at copyright instructions and process and streamlining some tags. This is a very complex process (and I'm really not a stupid guy) Rikster2 (talk) 12:27, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
- Also, if it is being suggested that {{PD-US-no notice}} applies, I'd like to point out that all but McBurney have that tag already in place. Rikster2 (talk) 00:12, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
- IMHO the photograph of McBurney has been published as well, should be tagged wit US-no-notice as well. --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 02:18, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

US Government work PD does not apply. Thomas Hart Benton made this under a commission from Abbott Laboratories, a private corporation, who later gave it to the US Navy. Copyrighted works which are acquired by the US Government are not subject to the US Govt work exception. See http://wayback.archive.org/web/20150111110400/http://www.history.navy.mil/ac/benton/benton1.htm for the gift by Abbott to the Navy and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright_status_of_work_by_the_U.S._government#Transfers re the status of copyrighted works acquired by the US Government. Educational purpose not recognizable to me. Commons seems to be used for spreading the user's self-generated "art" images to illustrate his strange ideas. My 2 cents, maybe your opinion is a different one... User page images may stay but have to be recategorized then.

- KEEP: Seems you are abusing the deletion process because I left my offensive 2 cents worth on your page [correction: a fellow admin's page] regarding your previous unjust deletion (which I am currently blocked for until 14 September 2015, which makes it somewhat difficult to respond to your mass delete abuse). Not sure what you mean by "educational" purposes, but my images, perhaps not these specific ones, have been published in various online technology magazines regarding Transhumaism/Singularity. I don't claim to be a famous artist, and was unaware the category of "art" was regarding famous "art". At least one person found one of my images useful, which you can see here on this site (the image was sourced from Wikimedia Commons): http://www.cbc-network.org/2011/08/the-trouble-with-transhumanism-2/#.UAfIfHhLIdk
"Education" regarding project scope states:
The expression "educational" is to be understood according to its broad meaning of "providing knowledge; instructional or informative"
In some circles my words and images are deemed very educational, information, thus providing knowledge; but it is subjective. Here is a random Commons cat image I just found, which could be educational and informative to some people but not to everyone.
Here are a few other articles I have published, proof of my educational and informative status, including one article where I was interviewed. My ideas are not strange in Transhuman circles:

- Keep The user has been blocked for a week and was clearly very upset. "Strange ideas" is not a deletion reason. The images have an appeal. The user is block-evading because the user is naive and does not understand how to proceed otherwise. I will attempt to stop that. All pages are now in use on another wiki, Commons policy is to allow local wikis to decide about usage.
- Already in use before my intervention:
- File:Singularity Eclectic Brains.png on fr. wiki.
- File:Singularity Dance.png --Abd also on fr. wiki. (talk) 22:41, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
- All files are now in use on en.wikiversity. This represents a judgment on my part as a Wikiversity user that there is educational purpose there, and there is other material on Wikiversity on w:Technological singularity. That some people don't know about this topic is simply normal, but it is a notable topic. That the user is paranoid we will attempt to address. Paranoia is sometimes an affliction of intelligence. --Abd (talk) 23:02, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
- Info see also wikiversity:User talk:Abd#Problems, deletion of images Ps2045.--Achim (talk) 16:00, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
- Well, I stroke having said strange ideas above as it is irrelevant here. I personally had no problems with these images being kept even though I cannot imagine how they could be used to illustrate any topics of an encyclopedia except "modern art". If I painted an image of say a rock and called that image "artificial intelligence" I wouldn't expect it to be categorized there. So I think our discussion should deal with the art aspect as Taivo did above. And many thanks to Ps2045 for providing the weblink to CBC for the linked article is indeed worth reading.--Achim (talk) 16:00, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks, Achim55. Perhaps it's appropriate to point out that Commons is a repository of "freely usable media files," and that it is not solely for images "to illustrate any topics of an encyclopedia." That's not the case even within the WMF. Wikiversity hosts "educational resources," which includes studies, essays, opinions, explorations. If the user has "strange ideas," he is welcome to express them on Wikiversity, such that overall presentation is neutral. Others can discuss or debate them, it they want. Wikiversity is not just about class handouts... we are also about "learning by doing," which includes learning how to express yourself. Ps2045 obviously overreacted to the deletion request. Hopefully, he is calming down and I personally hope he will contribute to the educational resource there. If not, then no harm done. Someone else may come along. --Abd (talk) 22:03, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
- Abd, there are limits to the assumption of good faith: From this user’ tweeter feed, his last words about this matter mentioned that «Admin Wiki twats are shit-heads», and «mindless cunts, utter pieces of shit». Great to know you support learning by doing, because there’s a lot to learn here. -- Tuválkin ✉ ✇ 01:40, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
- So, the user lost his mind seeing the nomination, having no understanding of the process, which is not all that uncommon. And then what he says elsewhere in that state of mind is brought here? That is disruptive. The user has actually acknowledged that his on-wiki comments -- which were revision-deleted, were intemperate. That twitter comment is completely irrelevant to a proper keep/delete decision. What assumption of good faith? The assumption I make, from the files and from what he posted above as his published work, is that he is sincerely interested in the w:en:Technological singularity. The topic is notable, in fact. Yes, the Wikiversity mission includes learning about wikis, and the user will not be allowed to call anyone, there, a cunt or shit-head or anything like that. He will be, as the occasion arises, educated in dispute resolution process. If he is willing to learn. Some aren't, but these generally go away. Wikiversity rarely finds it necessary to block users. --Abd (talk) 13:57, 15 September 2015 (UTC)

- Delete all. COM:SCOPE includes A media file that is in use on one of the other projects of the Wikimedia Foundation is considered automatically to be useful for an educational purpose. However, two sentences earlier, we read In the sections below, any use that is not made in good faith does not count. It looks like Abd has just dumped all of these images onto v:Technological singularity solely to prevent their deletion: this doesn't look like a good-faith action, and it's not something that we're here to support. These images are not going to be useful for educational purposes. Nyttend (talk) 00:16, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
- Here is the actual history, and the issue here, then, is my good faith, not that of the user. I had no communication from the user until after I created the Wikiversity resource. I found this DR because of [7]. I knew about the Singularity, so I knew that the comments here about the non-notability of the topic were incorrect. The Singularity already had mention on Wikiversity (I intended to cross-link those, eventually, but created the educational resource as a stub, yes, to save the files from deletion because they may be useful on Wikiversity. I would rather the simplicity of files hosted here, for use everywhere, than merely a local upload. I have been a major contributor to Wikiversity, working to develop the site as a place where education can be freely explored, and the idea that I would create that resource merely to ... what, disrupt a deletion process here? ... I find insulting. I have never created a useless resource on Wikiversity, and have been actively cleaning the place up. I have about a thousand deleted edits there, from placing speedy deletion templates. The nominator here has responded positively and I am convinced that the nomination was in good faith. The user who was so offended by the deletion nomination has calmed down (and I do have email from him now). My intervention has apparently stopped the socking, which is a common outcome of what I've done in the past. There is no problem. If Commons deletes these files, it will cause more work for others in the future, as Marshall points out below. So I find the desirable outcome here clear, and, I hope, a counter-example to the silly, angry comments the user twittered. --Abd (talk) 13:57, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
- Comment - whether you keep these or not is of course up to you. They have educational value from three points of view:
- as art perhaps with social commentary as art often does,
- as philosophy in dealing with any form of Utopia, realistic or otherwise, and
- as economics by presenting some futuristic gift economy.
- They have been uploaded to Wikiversity so I believe they will survive if deleted here. Please let me know if that is not true with commonsdelinker. The resource v:Technological singularity can remain as is for now. If the artist wishes to develop it further along any of the above three lines, the artist is welcome to do so. If not right away we can move this resource to a subpage of v:Gift economy for example or to the artist's user page if there is one.
- Just FYI but in reading COM:SCOPE I believe these media are well within it. But, if you don't want them here and we have them as "Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported license." someone sooner or later is going to try to upload them here. We don't have a notability requirement for artists, philosophers, or economists. --Marshallsumter (talk) 03:06, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
- FYI, the files have not been uploaded to Wikiversity. They could be, possibly would be, if deleted here. Wikiversity would definitely allow these files, by precedent. Thanks for commenting, Marshall, as a Wikiversity administrator, your comments are worthy of note. --Abd (talk) 13:57, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
- Delete: No obvious educational use. The addition of the images to a page on Wikiversity appears to have been done in bad faith, solely in an attempt to circumvent the deletion process. --Carnildo (talk) 23:38, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
- Then surely they will be deleted there. It's not like they have not been noticed. See the comment of Marshallsumter, a Wikiversity administrator, above, and also see the discussion started on Wikiversity by Nyytend.[8] For information, the page has been tagged with "proposed deletion," which gives 90 days for the resource to be improved, though any user may remove that tag, in which case there will be a deletion discussion if someone still wants to delete it. I have high Wikiversity experience, and the normal outcome, with what this resource will be by the time that happens, will be keep, though the page might be moved. There is a clear educational use, the topic is notable, but whether or not the specific images remain is another issue, that's an editorial decision; however, Wikiversity has devices for keeping almost anything that any user wants to study. What's missed here is that a Wikiversity user, not the artist, actually wants to study the topic that these images were designed to illustrate. So the denial of educational purpose is parochial and narrow-minded. The comments here (and at least one on Wikiversity) showed no knowledge of what "Singularity" meant. This is not an art form. It's a Futurist prediction, and one heavily discussed in some circles. --Abd (talk) 03:05, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
- I am changing my opinion. I think some files needs to be keeped, and here is the list:
- File:Singularity Explosive Intelligence Art.png
- File:Singularity Dance.png
They need to be keeped for me because it is an artist's imagination of a theory. Look at File:Red Giant Earth.jpg. The images I want to keep and that picture both shows an artist's imagination of a theory. So they must be keeped in my opinion.
The rest are still needed to be deleted. Pokéfan95 (talk) 11:52, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
- Comment: Abd — the technological singularity (Kurzweilian or other), Transhumanism, and post-scarcity are well known concepts; please do not feel that all supporters of the deletion of these images are ignorant fools (name calling is fun, heh?). I would however make the case about how do these trite and cabotine illustrations further in any way one’s knowledge of those topics.
- Besides, there’s more to them than appreciating Ps2045’s work: Judging from the little I skeemed online, this author seems to bask in the bliss of ignorance to delude himself into juvenile “optimism”: «By 2045 everyone can print their own starship and go colonize a new planet and found their own utopia» (not an exact quote). Were I a trans-humanist, I’d be embarassed at such “ally”…
- I am ready, though to change my vote, as after all it is in scope to document the trend that people who believe in stupid shit is likely to create crappy art. Threfore, here’s my new vote:
- File:Singularity Explosive Intelligence Art.png - Keep: Good eample of how you can double the size of your already-made abstract art when your client suddenly finds out there’s more canvas/wall than previously measured.
- File:Singularity Eclectic Brains.png - Keep; okay, but is it badly cropped from a bigger original?
- File:Singularity Dance.png - Keep, not bad.
- File:SINGULARITY 2045.png - Keep: one more for Category:Time 20:45…
- File:Futurism.png - Keep; meh.
- File:Singularity Deniers Dystopia Holocaust Denial LOW RESOLUTION.png - Delete, unless the caduceus artwork is free for derivative works; also a less inflammatory filename would be good.
- File:Singularity Utopia.png - Keep, it is kinda interesting. Is the author aware of the licensing implications? Someone could use this for a book cover — My bad acid trips and the wet nightmares they induce…
- File:Post-Scarcity-Symbol-Square-Colour.PNG - Delete: Ugly, clumsy (square elements by also diagonals?), unimaginative, no real-world usage.
- File:POST-SCARCITY-blackNwhite-square.PNG - Delete: as above.
- File:Post-Scarcity-International-BnW-Circle.png - Delete: Ugly, boring, bad logo construction, illegible, no real-world usage.
- File:Post-Scarcity-International-colour-circle-cropped.png - Delete: as above.
- File:Post-Scarcity-colour-circle.png - Delete: as above.
- File:Post-Scarcity.png - Delete: as above.
- All these, regardless of deletion, should be categorized in a sensible way. -- Tuválkin ✉ ✇ 14:55, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
- Spoken well, Tuválkin, I fully agree. --Achim (talk) 17:45, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
- This, then, is obviously a complex DR. There is another user now on wikiversity who intends to develop the resource. Some of the images may not be used, that is an editorial judgment that will likely take time. This DR should be closed without prejudice. If, after a decent period -- I'd give it a year, myself -- usage has declined, then renom of what is not used could be in order. What Tuvalkin classifies as to be deleted seems to especially include what might be called "advocacy buttons." They would be used in political polemic. The writing of such on Wikiversity is allowed, under some conditions. The writing of polemic is educational! We won't allow it at the top level in mainspace, but it can be done as an attributed essay, as a subpage, or it can be done in user space. I see at least one image that appears redundant, but I'd rather keep this DR simple. There is very little harm in delay for a redundant image. However, if it is truly redundant, as it seems at first glance to me, obviously, no harm in deleting the extra.
- Spoken well, Tuválkin, I fully agree. --Achim (talk) 17:45, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
- As to "ignorant fools," I certainly never said that, but there are comments here that showed no knowledge that the topic was notable, and, remember, the original nomination talked about the creator's "strange ideas," now shown with strike-through, and other comments showed no indication of knowledge. This is what I wrote:
- That some people don't know about this topic is simply normal, but it is a notable topic.
- Now, his personal ideas may indeed be strange. This will then come out in the exploration that the Wikiversity resource facilitates. Strange means unusual, unfamiliar, not "bad." My understanding, however, is that Commons does not second-guess WMF wikis about educational use. One of my goals is to educate the user in wiki process. It can be a steep learning curve. Another is to learn about the Singularity and about the user's ideas.
- There is no doubt that some of the images will be useful, and, remember, "educational use" includes images that develop a "feel" of a page, that make the page more interesting. It's not narrow as some might think. The presence of images, then, has educational value. Images are used on Wikiquote without being really "educational," other than developing some sort of page ambiance. I see, here, a sense of limitation of Commons and "education" to "encyclopedic values," which are very restricted. None of these images would be useful in an encyclopedia, at this point! However, the world of education is far larger than what is found in an encyclopedia! --Abd (talk) 21:35, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
- Comment - Just another FYI. Of the files showing on the right from the top down the first, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and eight have been uploaded to Wikiversity with slightly changed names as Fair Use. When I upload the seventh I'll change its name. If you decide to keep any of these, let me know or anyone is free to change them to the Commons version. I'll be using one of the Post Scarcity logos for Post Scarcity. I don't know if there's any special significance to the variation. --Marshallsumter (talk) 20:26, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
- Image two down on the right and seven down on the right are in resources. Gift economy/Utopia is using number seven. --Marshallsumter (talk) 14:57, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
- Keep: Here is a page where two of the images flagged for deletion were recently used, which seems to give validity to the educational "Scope" criteria, to impart knowledge: http://hplusmagazine.com/2015/09/16/understanding-scarcity-and-post-scarcity/ — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 149.254.218.46 (talk)
- Keep, excepted the ones with proof of derivative work issues. These image convey information to illustrate a topic and so are informational. I don't see why we would like to express esthetical judgement about the pictures. Clearly, the author prepared them to be used as illustration for a specific communication goal, which falls under educative use as they convey information, and that use is so in scope of Commons. --Dereckson (talk) 12:49, 5 October 2015 (UTC)

- It’s a wiki, Magnolia677. Go there, remove the photo (that has been there since November 2013, surviving multiple edits), maybe ask for the deletion of the article (as bad fashion is so non-encyclopedic), rant in the talk page, edit-war, have a ball. But… while it is in use to illustrate an article in Wikipedia, this photo is in scope and that fully neutralizes your nomination. -- Tuválkin ✉ ✇ 01:34, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
- The suggestion that the use of this photo was a vanity plant («someone takes a »« photo »«, then adds it to an article») is patently false, too: It was taken in 2007 by Glen Bowman, a Flicker user, uploaded to Commons in 2012 as part of a huge grab-all batch by Tm, and then picked up and integrated in 2013 into this article by en:wp user Meganesia. Not really a hasty sneaky addition into some random artcle done to sabotage a DR. -- Tuválkin ✉ ✇ 01:49, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

I erroneously assumed this would be covered by German Freedom of Panorama rules, but it is not so. Admission to the Berlin Botanical Garden is contingent on payment of a fee and compliance with a set of written rules; consequently it is not a “public area” (for purposes of copyright law). Since the sculpture was created in the 1960s, it is still copyrighted. Sebastian Koppehel (talk) 21:51, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

This is routine request for small photo without metadata. Is the uploader really the photographer? Why the photo is so small? Can you upload a bigger version, for example, 2000×1500 pixels? Photography is banned inside the Jewel House, I absolutely wasn't informed about that before. Sorry! I've uploaded this file a few days ago and nominated it for VI. In the discussion about that matter I was informed by Japalina about the fact that photography is banned inside the Jewel House of the Tower of London. I really didn't know that before! I'm very sorry about my missing information! I immediately have withdrawn my VI-nomination and requested a speedydeletion first. I cancelled all usings of this image in different Wikipedias too. Yann told me a speedydeletion isn't possible, but recommended to make a deletion request. I'm really convinced about the importance to delete this picture, because I took it though it was forbidden, but I didn't know that it was. I know that I've made a big mistake and I want the picture to be deleted as soon as possible. Dn@lor_01 (talk) 15:15, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

- Keep - I reverted it out of Imperial State Crown at English Wikipedia because it didn't fit the caption and the odd angle obscured the surmounted cross. However, it's a quality photo that portrays the crown in an interesting way. If it's absolutely illegal to keep it, so be it; but if the rule against Jewel House photography is mere rent-seeking or excess officiousness, I'd like to explore the possibility of keeping such a photo, and finding an appropriate use for it. If no proper PD justification can be given, image should be deleted. TransporterMan (talk) 00:47, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
- Comment Note that the archive of the page this is from [12] give some info about Benton, including mentioning " "The Year of Peril," a series of grim and powerful war paintings financed by Abbott Laboratories." This image is NOT one of "The Year of Peril" series. (Google: Examples of "The Year of Peril" series. More about "The Year of Peril" series, which again I point out this image is not a part of .) The source website does NOT say the images on the Navy mil page were commissioned by Abbot Laboratories. (It simply states they are from the "Navy Art Collection".) If you have info that this image and the one in a related deletion request were a private commission rather than US Navy, present it and I will support deletion. However I find no such info in careful reading of the source page. -- Infrogmation (talk) 01:12, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
- But that page, which lists this image, says that it was "Gift of Abbott Laboratories" which means that it was not done for the government by a government employee, so there's no evidence that it is PD. It's the uploader's obligation to prove that the underlying artwork is PD, not the community's obligation to prove it was not. Regards, TransporterMan (talk) 20:20, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
- Delete Doing a bit of hunting, I found a reference on Google Books (Fiddles, Harmonicas, and Banjos: Thomas Hart Benton and His Role in Constructing Popular Notions of American Folk Music and Musicians) that discusses this work. The full citation listed at the top of page 171 seems to make it rather clear that the physical object itself was donated, but that the copyright to the artwork remains with the 'T. H. Benton and R. P. Benton Testamentary Trusts'. Revent (talk) 01:51, 18 October 2015 (UTC)

- Delete As I commented at Commons:Deletion requests/File:Preliminary Shake Down New Orleans Benton.jpg, there is a book about Benton visible on Google Books that gives information on many of his works. This particular one does not seem to be specifically listed, but his works seem to be uniformly described as "Art copyright T. H. Benton and R. P. Benton Testamentary Trusts", including multiple works that are held by the Naval Historical Center. It appears that the copyrights were not transferred when the works were donated, making these not ok. (Though, as a side note, it is correct that the US Government can own copyrights transferred to it.) Revent (talk) 03:19, 18 October 2015 (UTC)

It appears Grazia Neri is still alive and I cannot find any verifiable information about Giovanni Giovannetti (which one actually took the photo?) but any image taken of Plath who died in 1963 aged 30 is still in copyright even if she were in her teens for this photo. The original size at Flickr clearly attributed the photo. Ww2censor (talk) 15:33, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
- Keep per {{PD-Italy}} as Sylvia Plath died in 1963. Both Giovanni Giovannetti and [14] [15] Grazia Neri are professional Italian photographers. It is quite common to mention two photographers when the image comes from a photo agency (they assign two people for a job and sometimes don't know who took which photo). It is unclear which agency it was, but given the Neri's bios on the web, it is should be Italian. The scanned (U.S., copyrighted) book merely borrowed their photo, with a proper credit. - You are probably correct but this template Template:PD-Italy/US may be of interest because it requires a publication date to determine its copyright status. Of course it does not answer the question of whether we know when and where the image was first published. As I understand it the commons also requires that the image must be PD in the US as well as Italy but I'm not entirely sure about that due to the prose in the above linked template. - @Ww2censor: Yes, explicitly... "Wikimedia Commons only accepts media: that are explicitly freely licensed, or; that are in the public domain in at least the United States and in the source country of the work." (COM:L) Revent (talk) 04:21, 18 October 2015 (UTC)
- The image is automatically free in the US if it was first published in Italy (to apply PD-Italy) and the publication occurred in 1975 or earlier (to comply with URAA). Both are highly likely. Materialscientist (talk) 06:27, 18 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Materialscientist: Indeed, I was just answering the specific policy question. Revent (talk) 07:40, 18 October 2015 (UTC)

This photo of Sylvia Plath is by Giovanni Giovannetti of the Grazia Neri photo agency. The small print in the right half of the Flickr source image says "Photo © Giovanni Giovannetti/Grazia Neri". There is no indication that Flickr user Victor Soto has permission to release the image under a CC-BY-2.0 license. While it is unlikely that this image is CC-BY-2.0, as claimed, It's possible that the image qualifies for {{PD-Italy}}. —RP88 (talk) 01:17, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- I didn't notice the earlier nomination. I'm going to self-close this nomination and update the license on the file. —RP88 (talk) 01:21, 27 October 2015 (UTC)

- Comment: File:Ē17500.ogg is a redirect to File:E17500.ogg; this is a semantic duplicate of File:Number 17500.ogg. -- Tuválkin ✉ ✇ 16:43, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
- Comment: File:En-us-nicole.ogg and File:En-us-Nichole.ogg are duplicates (though probably legitimate, if the contents were okay). -- Tuválkin ✉ ✇ 16:45, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

A useless campaign. The sole need of it is to have category preset which is easily done with just categories
http parameter of Upload Wizard. --Base (talk) 15:29, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
- Is there any requirement or guideline on what a useful campaign should be? If it is used and helps us get more freely-licensed images, it is probably useful — NickK (talk) 23:16, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
- But it might as well not be used and the images would still be obtained just as finely. What is the point in the campaign? It helps with nothing. --Base (talk) 22:33, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
