En la página, al buscar mierda sale esta imagen con las demas con un comentario racista. 85.57.19.33 13:26, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
- If I understand correctly (my Spanish isn't very good), you're complaining that there is a racist comment on the description page? I have removed that comment (which you could have done as well). Is there another reason to delete? darkweasel94 13:45, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
Kept: Speedy-kept, as obviously misguided request. (Both the earlier racist comment and the DR were by IPs from the same country.)-- Túrelio (talk) 14:44, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
Unlikely to be own work: small/inconsistent resolutions, missing EXIF. Considering User talk:Avichay (several copyvios, 1 block and this related log): per COM:PRP IMHO untrusted user uploading a bunch of copyrighted material (missing EXIF etc.) so this one can't be believed either. orphaned image, meaningless, without any educational purpose L736E (talk) 12:02, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
- I agree, very bad quality and orphan picture, the same concept could be represented by hundreds of better images that we have, it clearly fall outside of Commons' project scope. If the user nick refers to the user's age (and the subject of the image), we could also have problems due to that. --Lucas (msg) 16:28, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
- The image who I upload is an example of the gummy smile, then why remove it?--Nicolacci098 (talk) 11:38, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
- @Nicolacci098, per Commons:Country specific consent requirements the law of Italy requires the consent of the depicted person before publication (which you did by uploading it), the more when the image shows a minor. --Túrelio (talk) 13:50, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
- Because it's useless and because all your interventions on it.wiki where you uploaded the pictures as an example of a fake definition of your invention were rolled back as non-sense. And also this picture, doesn't represent anything different than a normal smile. NOTE: User:Nicolacci098 was indefinitely blocked on it.wiki for escaping from the ban (reiterate insertion of meaningless and fake contents). This image has nothing to do with any kind of educational purpose, just a support to an user who likes playing with the project.--L736E (talk) 12:03, 14 June 2013 (UTC) P.S. A CU on it.wiki revealed that the user Nicolacci098 is a multiple identity (sockpuppet) of user User:CarNik98 who uploaded the picture.

The original author and date of creation are unknown, and as the coat or arms was probably created for the abortive restoration of the Qing dynasty in 1917 PD-old-100 probably would not apply even if we knew who created the image and when. This is a derived work of a photograph taken of Vesto Melvin Slipher c.1907. The source of the derivative should be identified as well as the context of the original photograph, which although it was taken more than 100 years ago, it is not clear if the photographer died more than 70 years ago, or whether this may require attribution, for example to an institution that retains the copyright. Slipher died in 1969, less than 70 years ago, so his works may be under copyright, which may include the original photograph if it was a work for hire. Fæ (talk) 07:59, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

- Keep The quality is satisfactory. The image is not used, because the location is unidentified, but I think, that the it is totally identifiable. Therefore the image is in scope. Photo is from 1961, and there is quite few historical photos in Commons. It is good to have a free historical photo. Taivo (talk) 12:25, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
Keep How many images does Commons have of India in 1961? Not many and this image of an temple is one of them and so it has historical interest. Also subject is in scope. Reasonable quality for an analogic image, that, on the contrary of an digital images, gets dust, scratchs, fingerprints, and so there cant be expected the same quality of a image. - Weak Keep. The flood seems to me man-made and therefore identifiable. That case, the event is even notable. But if this is a mistake and the event is natural, then location is practically not identifiable and non-notable. That case it's probably better to delete. Taivo (talk) 12:39, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

In short: File lacks a primary source. Long: Source is a collector site just giving an author name but no indication where this image came from so impossible to verify the PD claim. As the site modifies the images - scales them up and adds their own Exif data - it's very much possible they even have images from Commons on their site. Denniss (talk) 20:22, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
- Keep Hi Dennis. Commons has no policy that blanket rejects images uploaded from "collector sites". You can make the exact same case against my uploads from the Imperial War Museum (they only collected the images, they did not commission them) or the Department of Defense (they only host the images that are "claimed" to be released by uploaders). At some point you have to trust someone who leaves a record of release saying they are the photographer (which is what Commons does). In the case of this photograph, the photographer is clearly named as "Leon Brooks". The terms of the website explain "Where these public domain images come from? - They come from several sources. I took some of them, and I hereby placed them in public domain. Please note, not all images are by me, I collected images from other sites/photographers which clearly claim that pictures are explicitly placed in the public domain. Where it was possible the appropriate accreditation of source/ photographer is given." The legally responsible person is Dusan Bicanski of Serbia who would be liable for claims of damages by several thousand photographers if the claims were fraudulently made.
- The site has been reorganized since my original upload, the image and the associated release statement, including the required attribution, can be found at http://www.public-domain-image.com/objects-public-domain-images-pictures/electronics-devices-public-domain-images-pictures/computer-components-pictures/200-gb-7200-rpm-ide-hard-drive.jpg.html.
- If you wish to go on a mass deletion spree for the other 14,000 images, please copy and paste in my statement here for all the others. Thanks --Fæ (talk) 22:01, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

Being "out of date" is irrelevant and the fact that this British IP (and so much probably urrelated to Chase Masterson) thinks that this image gives a bad impression is also irrelevant and totally bogus and highly his POV. Good image of this famous person and not a bad demeanor. Yes it does meet the Scope of Commons as it is realistically useful for an educational purpose of a famous actress, singer and voice actor that has Wikipedia articles in 3 languages, so this is in scope of this convention and Chase Masterson and yes it does comply with Commons rules of consent taht this is a image of public and famous figure and this images were taken in a very public event in the USA were there is also no expectation of privacy in public space even if that person is a unknown person. Also in this image Chase Masterson is clearly in a public situation in a public space. Also there is zero proof that this british IP is someone close to this american Chase Masterson until (if any there is a proof to the contrary). Also it is very suspicious as if it is claimed that this image brought grievances to Chase Masterson she be it by a firend or would complain herself in a public forum and not by private means. Also in her website there are several images that no longer depict her look or image. Also in Commons:Deletion requests/File:Chase Masterson - Comic-Con 2010.jpg "her friend" claims that this images are unflattering but "herself" claims that she didnt autorize this image to be publicly published, so what it is? Unflattering or climed to be private? This is highly suspicious to me that this DR is not by someone connected with Chase_Masterson but someone unrelated that is trying, for whatever, to get this images deleted. OUT OF DATE, BAD IMPRESSION OF CHASE MASTERSON 2.122.221.152 16:43, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
Keep Argument less nomination. Image is in scope of this american actress, singer and voice actor and of WonderCon. - Comment Yes it does meet the Scope of Commons as it is realistically useful for an educational purpose of a famous actress, singer and voice actor that has Wikipedia articles in 3 languages, so this is in scope of this convention and Chase Masterson and yes it does comply with Commons rules of consent taht this is a image of public and famous figure and this images were taken in a very public event in the USA were there is also no expectation of privacy in public space even if that person is a unknown person.
- Also in this image Chase Masterson is clearly in a public situation in a public space. So this image must be kept. Tm (talk) 02:00, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

It can also be reminded that the subjects are children who are very, very unlikely to be identified, especially as they are now seven years older than they were on the picture. --Jonund (talk) 18:36, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
The image is clearly a scan of a book (you can see though the page the text in the opposite page). As it's a 3D object, a photograph of said 3D object is not in the public domain (regardless of how old the object is). If it were a 2D work, it would be OK, but that´s not the case (it's clearly explained in Commons:Image_casebook#3D_art_.28sculptures_etc..29 or Commons:When_to_use_the_PD-Art_tag#This_does_not_apply_to_photographs_of_3D_works_of_art) The Comeback Kid (talk) 18:13, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

This is a crop of an image previously deleted from Commons, refer to Commons:Deletion requests/File:Babek monument.JPG. There seemed minimal discussion in the last DR before closure by Fastily, and there was no apparent explanation of the age of the statue itself, consequently I am not clear if there is any copyright to be concerned about for Freedom of Panorama to be a relevant claim. If this is a work in-copyright then it should be deleted, if someone can explain the provenance of the statue, then there may be a good reason for the original, larger image, to be un-deleted. - It's 2013, none of the language wikipedias has an article about him so far, really notable? --A.Savin 16:09, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
- Keep. I think this file is currently covered by our project's scope, because: 1. It is in use on the Russian Wikipedia (here), though this isn't a strong argument, since better pictures of other referees would probably be more useful there. 2. There's no better picture of this person available. I'd rather have a poor quality image of someone than no picture at all. 3. It might be usable in the future for articles about him. Taivo's argument that Faverani might be notable as a referee in an important soccer match remains unrefuted, because the lack of articles about this person (mentioned in A.Savin's response) doesn't necessarily mean he's not notable. Also note that he was a referee in the Champions League finale this year. Besides that, Commons ideally doesn't decide about notability. Mathonius (talk) 03:30, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

- I uploaded all these photos only because I consider him notable; and there are others too, e.g. w:ta:கேதார் ஜோஷி, w:pa:ਕੇਦਾਰ ਜੋਸ਼ੀ. But if these unused pictures are really not useful for the project, maybe they should be deleted. ~ RogDel (talk) 07:48, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
- Keep Has articles in several Wikipedias (d:Q55704) - no reason to delete as long as these articles aren't deleted. darkweasel94 09:15, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
- I know that deleting images when articles are already present is quite a lame reason. But this person has been proven non-notable on various projects. Its so that i dont know other languages and hence am finding it difficult to get deletion reviews started on other wikis. But 3 major high-traffic wikis (en wiki, Wikiquote and Wikiversity) are already considering him non-notable. In that case, these images are like a personal album or Facebook which doesn't fit in our scope. Also note that currently i am nominating only non-used images on grounds that they are promotional. And there is a very good reason to consider them as promotional. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 10:12, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
- Different Wikipedias can, and do, have different notability criteria. Even if an image is not in actual use, it can be useful for readers of a Wikipedia who see the link to the Commons category and look for more photos there. I'd say that photos of a person who is considered notable in at least one project can be considered educational. darkweasel94 10:56, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

- Delete the horoscope pictures for sure. I also question whether the uploader to the archive has rights to the childhood photos. The others are dubious: there is in fact only one or two Wikipedia versions which actually have a real article; he's been deleted from several, and the others are mostly blanked. Mangoe (talk) 00:18, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
Kept: Keeping most of them on the basis (at least) of the current article on Wikibooks (http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Kedar_Joshi). Deleting the two unused horoscope images as they seem pretty far removed from any realistic educational use. MichaelMaggs (talk) 10:28, 2 July 2013 (UTC)

- The issue is about to be processed under Ticket:2013061010005011, so no deletion is necessary. Reinhard Kraasch (talk) 14:43, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
- Great! I had guessed she already had some kind of permission and pointed her to OTRS on her talk page at de. Hope everything turns out to be alright … --El Grafo (talk) 15:13, 11 June 2013 (UTC)

I don't see a reason why not to use Template:Information instead. Leyo 15:21, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
- Comment The template is used at the moment. Lets replace it in all the current files and wait a few weeks to see if it is being used or not. I have deleted templates like that before only to find out that some process for moving files from local wikipedias relies on it. --Jarekt (talk) 16:19, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
- After having removed the transclusions of the completely empty template, there are just nine transclusions left. --Leyo 17:02, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
