Sukhoi Su-33
[edit]re: Sukhoi Su-33; thanks for fixing the former/current error in the graphic. I changed now the color to blue/red (blue= current, red= former) as I am now standardizing most of the Military Aircraft Operators maps. Noclador (talk) 21:08, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
Brooksville, Florida; Incorporated and otherwise
[edit]The description in pic I took (File:Suncoast Trial Bridge over FL 50-2-.jpg) is actually correct. The Brooksville City Limits are much further east from where that photo was taken. Florida State Road 50 in this area is considered the northern border of Spring Hill, Florida, while the north side of SR 50 is generally considered Unincorporated Brooksville, except of course in the gated communities of High Point and Brookridge. ----DanTD (talk) 01:47, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
- Ahhh, thanks for catching that. I didn't realise that! - The Bushranger (talk) 02:59, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
Hi, I redirected the above category, because VF-64 was redesignated VF-21 in 1959, see Category:Fighter Squadron 21 (United States Navy). This website [1] gives an excellent overview over the zillions of redesignations of US Navy aircraft squadrons. It is even more complicated due to the fact that the US Navy (officially) does not recognize a direct lineage with disestablished squadrons if a new squadron is formed with the same designation and nickname [2]. Thank you and Cheers Cobatfor (talk) 22:48, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

Heads up - aircraft type/registration cats
[edit]My apologies if you are not the relevant editor; otherwise please pass on to more suitable forums etc. I'm aware of all the discussion about aircraft type cats in image descriptions [3], but at least one editor seems hell-bent on going in the opposite direction to the consensus - eg [4].
FYI, on another subject, have you seen my edit to this talk [5]. PeterWD (talk) 10:15, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
Fw 190 - BV 141
[edit]Hi. I just look at these pictures :
- File:Bundesarchiv Bild 101I-605-1705-17A, Frankreich, Aufklärungsflugzeug, Heck-MG.jpg
- File:Bundesarchiv Bild 101I-605-1705-18A, Frankreich, Aufklärungsflugzeug, Heck-MG.jpg
For you, this is the BV 141. But i'm not sure : on the first picture, you can see a landing gear on the under the fuselage. And on this picture, you can see there's no landing gear positionned on this place. So i think the both pictures are a FW 190. What do you think ?--Sammyday (talk) 03:01, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
- I'm shure, this is a Fw 189, not a BV 141! Бг (talk) 03:42, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
- Huh, good catch there! That is a pretty bizzare arrangement of the tailguns, though...is it possible it shows a Fw 189 testing the Bv 141's rear gun arrangement? - The Bushranger (talk) 20:20, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
- Did the Bv ever had a tailgun ?--Sammyday (talk) 20:13, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

Autopatrol given
[edit]Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. Trijnsteltalk 22:39, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks! :) - The Bushranger (talk) 04:54, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
Hi Bushranger. I see you've uploaded this flickr photo and used Joey Hand in the filename. I'm wondering what makes you think that Hand is driving the car; I'm 95% sure it's Dirk Müller. Joey's helmet is mostly white on the front. Thanks. Spyder_Monkey (talk) 03:19, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
- Well, my reasoning was it was Hand's car and I was uploading it for Hand's page, so...No objections to a move being made since it turns out I mis-guessed who was behind the wheel at the time! Perhaps a move to "[team name] Le Mans 2011" might work? - The Bushranger (talk) 18:44, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletions
[edit]Hello,
When nominating an image for deletion, you must inform the uploader. Thanks, Yann (talk) 09:43, 1 March 2013 (UTC)
- Ah, I've gotten used to en.wiki where it does that automatically, thanks. - The Bushranger (talk) 22:21, 1 March 2013 (UTC)
Heads up
[edit]I think you made a mistake in your rename request here. --Jakob (Scream about the things I've broken) 01:01, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
- Ouch, I forgot the '3=' for the third parameter. Thanks for the catch! - The Bushranger (talk) 02:11, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
Renaming
[edit]Hello, I have done lots of requests from you, and I'd like you to request filemover! If you are filemover, you don't have to use {{Rename}} anymore, and you can do it right away. You can request filemover here. Hope you like my fast moving, --레비Revi✉SUL Info 09:24, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll look into that. :) And keep up the good work! - The Bushranger (talk) 09:25, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
Welcome, Dear Filemover!
[edit]
Hi The Bushranger, you're now a filemover. When moving files please respect the following advice:
- Use the CommonsDelinker link in the {{Rename}} template to order a bot to replace all ocurrences of the old title with the new one. Or, if there was no rename-request, please use the Move & Replace-tab.
- Please leave a redirect behind unless you have a valid reason not to do so. Other projects, including those using InstantCommons, might be using the file even though they don't show up in the global usage. Deleting the redirects would break their file references. Please see this section of the file rename guideline for more information.
- Please know and follow the file rename guidelines.

Name these birds, again
[edit]I took a pic of some of these birds at the Withlacoochee River Park east of Dade City, Florida a couple of days ago, and I'm wondering if you can identify them. For the record, they look like they might be within the turkey family, and their calls sound like a barking dog. ----DanTD (talk) 02:13, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Dan, another good reason for avoiding that instinct is because you'd have wound up stinking of carrion! Those are Black Vultures, Coragyps atratus. - The Bushranger (talk) 07:57, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
Lake categories of Florida
[edit]Nice of you to make new commons categories for specific Lakes of Florida. I see that the one you created for Lake Agnes within Polk City has only two images, so let me send you a Google Map in case you or other photographers can be inspired to add more images. ----DanTD (talk) 04:30, 21 March 2019 (UTC)
Deletion requests on EN
[edit]Hi, The Bushranger. Reading your comment, "I have concerns about this mass nomination given you included that comment on almost all of them. I'd assume you'd be familiar with how notability and deletion rationailes work", on an English Wikipedia deletion request, I thought it might be warranted to inform you on my experiences with the requester.
In fact, on AN/I I requested The Banner be derived of the privilege of requesting deletion. Unfortunately, nobody seemed to be able to grasp what I was saying, and even more unfortunately some of the 'usual suspects' weighed in and effectively asked for the favorite 'boomerang', which lead to me being site banned. (It started with the bizarre insertion of the word 'notable' in an article's starting definition, which he tought would have the effect that the list at the bottom of the article would only contain 'notable' items, because he didn't like the list and wanted the whole article removed, a mission which had failed already.) Expecting the latest mass nomination to be rejected also, of his last 13 nominations [I didn't count further back], The Banner got 1 (one) article deleted (if I remember correct, that concerned a new article that was very obvious out of scope, if not a scam, it would have been deleted by anyone who'd bump into it), which gives a terrible average of succes.
In other words, The Banner continues to consume the time of many contributors with his uninformed requests; he's just not fit to determine the value of an article. It can be very annoying to other editors, as my case shows. I got track of his works after he literally stalked me (we have a history on Dutch Wikipedia, where he was also instrumental in me being blocked there (I have no problems on Commons or on any other Wiki)) and tried, succesfully, to have a significant part of an article I had worked on deleted; he somehow convinced English sysops that a very reliably Dutch source should not be accepted.
I am not asking you to try to rehabilitate me, but if you might have plans to start a discussion on the nominating behavior of The Banner, you could refer to the AN/I discussion above, where I literally requested a topic ban for deletion requests. Some people never learn. Greeting, Eissink (talk) 14:37, 14 January 2021 (UTC).
File:Phil Parsons Racing logo.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Tolyan Linkin and Danielle Bradber.jpg
[edit]Hi, you nominated the above file for speedy deletion, and I'm wondering whether your deletion rationale could be modified to include that the image is used for vandalism/stalking on English Wikipedia. See this[6] ANI report and the history of the article linked in that report. Including that info would likely make it more obvious that the image is a candidate for SD. Chicken wing restaurant category
[edit]Do you think a chicken wing restaurant category would be good? Mjrmtg (talk) 17:54, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hm, I'd say there's probably too much overlap with Chicken Restaurants in general, but that's just IMHO. I wouldn't say no but I'm not saying yes, if that makes sense? - The Bushranger (talk) 20:49, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
