Maratea infreschidamaratea.jpg

[edit]

Romanian comma diacritic

[edit]

I'm sorry, I had to revert a few of your changes in various projects. You drew Image:T e S con virgola e con cediglia.svg, but the shape of the „comma below” diacritic is wrong, or at least not recognizable as a comma and too similar to a sedilla. It may be the font you used, but I think for the reader to understand the normal shape of that diacritic we need to use less artistic and more standard fonts. AdiJapan 06:15, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, no, it's not acceptable. The whole point of this image is for the reader to see the exact shape of the diacritics. That is why I recommend the Times New Roman font, or something very similar, because the letters have classic shapes, known to everyone. I will make the SVG myself, just give me some time. Genova

[edit]

Ciao GJo.

Ciao! --DenghiùComm (talk) 16:32, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, GJo!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

✓ Done --Xavigivax (talk) 08:53, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No he puesto ornamentos externos. --Xavigivax (talk) 10:02, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Arms of Joseph Bonaparte

[edit]

Hello GJo!

The Coat of arms of Joseph Bonaparte as King of Spain is based on two written and very reliable sources:

The King didn’t use the bees in the mantle as you can check in these sources.

I’ve moved your work at File:Arms of Joseph Bonaparte (Napoleonic Mantle).svg because I know it is based on [4] but the two mentioned sources are more reliable.

Thanking you for your cooperation.

Re: Insurrezione di Palermo o Presa?

[edit]

--Ligabo (talk) 23:05, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
--Ligabo (talk) 10:13, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Te remerciant d'avance bonne journée à toi cordialement--Dunkerqueenflandre (talk) 06:34, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You are no OTRS member

[edit]

Hallo GJo, you are no OTRS member → please do not do this! Is there a reason why you have added the OTRS template? Please just reply here. Cheers --Saibo (Δ) 14:19, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Italian operators allow people involved in the ticket's case to add the OTRS templates we give them, also because any check is just a click away. By the way, I don't see you listed as an OTRS volunteer either. So you might want to know that OTRS teams may follow different practices and this does not imply someone is acting wrong. --Elitre (talk) 18:53, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the comment Elitre. I am no OTRS volunteer (just a admin). The thing is: it isn't usual on Commons as you can see from the tagging in the file history. And no, the check isn't just a click away for non-otrs members. How else do you want to detect vandalism (false OTRS tags) if not by forbidding OTRS additions by non-OTRS members? Cheers --Saibo (Δ) 21:30, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
We have a help-desk for that on it.wiki, and such an event is _extremely_ rare. On the other side, also trusted users could misuse tickets by adding them to materials that were not actually donated. In fact, nobody but the ticket sender knows best where the ticket goes :) We have a list of sites who confirmed content donations via OTRS: if we didn't make the list public and if we did not allow everybody to add the permissions template, how could we import thousands of images and texts? Also, I think that vandalism is best spotted by checking a user's history (I don't expect it from long-time users with no priors of copyvio or blocks, you know), and sometimes assuming good faith helps. --Elitre (talk) 06:15, 4 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your explanation! Special upload projects are a different thing. There it is understandable and the license could often also be proven even without an OTRS ticket (more or less). Also such stuff like Sitzendorf permission is a exception - it is intended to be added by the uploader. But in other cases (single uploads) I do not think this is a good idea and I had and will revert such tags as soon as I see them. Cheers --Saibo (Δ) 01:15, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Modifiche ad una tua opera prima

[edit]

Well spotted! I did not check the regimental coats of arms of the Italian Army for some years and so it escaped me that the coat of arms of the 32° (Alpini) Engineer Regiment was indeed changed! The one you uploaded at File:CoA mil ITA rgt genio 32.png is indeed the correct one and the old one [5] is not anymore in use. Stemma provincia di Napoli

[edit]

Ciao.

Ciao --Massimop (talk) 10:09, 2 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Ciao. --Massimop (talk) 19:29, 2 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Why this file was nominated for deletion? in same manner we should deleted most of pictures in https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Logos_of_automobiles , there are many pictures with copyrighted logos, its not any reason to delete if photo of logo is new. And secondly the photo rights were given to wikimedia. We are free to take photographs. Would you be able to change it please unless you have better sources for the colours you have used. Thanks. Cdh1984 (talk) 23:19, 19 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Saluzzo - Gonfalone01.jpg, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Saluzzo - Gonfalone02.jpg, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image".

If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you!
