Bonne participation, Trizek here or on fr:wp 20:13, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
- Salut Trizek !
- --EdouardHue (talk) 20:28, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
- --EdouardHue (talk) 12:26, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

- Hi. Thanks for fixing this, I made a typo in Commonist and only noticed it after the upload was over. I was actually planning to fix it tonight. I still need to add the template and geolocation anyway. Regards,

Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.CategorizationBot (talk) 11:40, 23 November 2011 (UTC)

Bonne continuation!
--Selbymay (talk) 08:17, 18 March 2013 (UTC)
- Salut !

Copyright tag removal
[edit]I assume this edit was a mistake, with which you removed the copyright tag from the image I found in Category:Media without a license: needs history check today. I hope that is all of them, but you might check the category to see if you recognise any images you may have edited. There are currently at least 8 more similar images, so I'll leave them to you or another editor as tis cat is still quite populated. Ww2censor (talk) 11:44, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks again. I should have fixed them all this time. I double-checked the category, hope I did not miss any. --EdouardHue (talk) 20:13, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

Picture of the Year 2013 R1 Announcement
[edit]Bonjour Edouard,
- --EdouardHue (talk) 20:18, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
ComeOn!
[edit]Hello !
Me revoilà donc.
- --EdouardHue (talk) 20:06, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
- Question complémentaire : quelle version de Java utilises-tu ?
- --EdouardHue (talk) 18:08, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
- Bonsoir Edouard !

It is indexed in the base Mérimée, a database of architectural heritage maintained by the French Ministry of Culture, under the reference PA00110521 .
|
It is indexed in the base Mérimée, a database of architectural heritage maintained by the French Ministry of Culture, under the reference PA...... .
|
- --EdouardHue (talk) 22:14, 4 November 2015 (UTC)
Merci. Père Igor (talk) 11:17, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

Question on Comeon!
[edit]Hi EdouardHue,
I found your (awesome) uploadtool ComeOn and am trying to get it to work. I have no problem with uploading images and modifying templates, but I am not able to get the information from an CSV file into the tool. Unfortunately that's precisely the part that's not yet in the manual on GitHub. Do you have any tips for me or a short description of the steps I should take? Thanks! PS, I apologize that I write to you in English, but feel free to reply in French if you're more comfortable with that!--AWossink (talk) 08:43, 7 January 2016 (UTC)

Demandes de renommages d'images d'églises
[edit]Salut Edouard,

Reminder: Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2016 is open!
[edit]You are receiving this message because you voted in R1 of the 2016 Picture of the Year contest.
Dear EdouardHue,
Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2016 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eleventh edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2016) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1475 candidate images. There are 58 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top #1 and #2 from each sub-category.
In the final round, you may vote for just one or maximal three image to become the Picture of the Year.
Round 2 will end on 20 April 2017, 23:59:59 UTC.
Thanks,
--Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee 08:42, 16 April 2017 (UTC)

--LamBoet (talk) 15:11, 20 May 2017 (UTC)
Your VFC installation method is deprecated
[edit]Hello EdouardHue, we are aware that using the old installation method of VFC (via common.js, which you are using) may not work reliably anymore and can break other scripts as well. A detailed explanation can be found here. Important: To prevent problems please remove the old VFC installation code from your common.js and instead enable the VFC gadget in your preferences. Thanks! --VFC devs (q) 16:23, 22 May 2017 (UTC)
Adrienne Charmet ou Adrienne Alix
[edit]Bonsoir Edouard Hue,
Cordialement, Cymbella (talk) 19:35, 4 July 2017 (UTC)
@Cymbella: Bonsoir.

--LamBoet (talk) 11:41, 9 December 2018 (UTC)

Wiki Loves Monuments France 2019
[edit]Bonjour,

Important message for file movers
[edit]A community discussion has been closed where the consensus was to grant all file movers the suppressredirect
user right. This will allow file movers to not leave behind a redirect when moving files and instead automatically have the original file name deleted. Policy never requires you to suppress the redirect, suppression of redirects is entirely optional.
Possible acceptable uses of this ability:
- To move recently uploaded files with an obvious error in the file name where that error would not be a reasonable redirect. For example: moving "Sheep in a tree.jpg" to "Squirrel in a tree.jpg" when the image does in fact depict a squirrel.
- To perform file name swaps.
- When the original file name contains vandalism. (File renaming criterion #5)
Please note, this ability should be used only in certain circumstances and only if you are absolutely sure that it is not going to break the display of the file on any project. Redirects should never be suppressed if the file is in use on any project. When in doubt, leave a redirect. If you forget to suppress the redirect in case of file name vandalism or you are not fully certain if the original file name is actually vandalism, leave a redirect and tag the redirect for speedy deletion per G2.
The malicious or reckless breaking of file links via the suppressredirect
user right is considered an abuse of the file mover right and is grounds for immediate revocation of that right. This message serves as both a notice that you have this right and as an official warning. Questions regarding this right should be directed to administrators. --Majora (talk) 21:35, 7 November 2019 (UTC)
Wiki Science Competition 2019
[edit]Dear uploader of European Science Photo Competition 2015 and Wiki Science Competition 2017, we would like to remind you that Wiki Science Competition 2019 has started in the whole world. It is now completed in Russia (active in May), Ukraine and France (active during November), but it's still open in all the other countries.
If you want to take part where WSC2019 is still open, please consult this page. Only some national categories are associated to competitions with local prizes.
If you are an expert user, please consider that images uploaded within the deadline can be included in any case in their national category even if not uploaded with the main interface.
Please keep in mind that there is a new category this year, i.e. "nature and wildlife".
If you already took part in a country that has completed its upload phase, please consider improving the description in English of your files (click on the edit button), since such description is what the international jury will use to evaluate them. World finalists will be finalized after March 2020.
Sorry for bothering you and have a nice wiki.

Questions sur ComeOn!
[edit]Bonjour EdouardHue !
TED 01:01, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
- Bonjour TED !
- --EdouardHue (talk) 06:20, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
- Bonjour EdouardHue !
- Merci pour ta réponse. J’ai Java 8, donc cela devrait pouvoir fonctionner.
- Peux-tu penser à me notifier dans tes réponses ?
TED 00:26, 30 May 2020 (UTC)- Hello @TED: ,
- Un modèle pour la page de déscription des media, où tu peux mettre absolument tout ce que tu veux ;
- Un répertoire avec les médias à importer ;
- --EdouardHue (talk) 08:04, 31 May 2020 (UTC)
TED 14:25, 31 May 2020 (UTC)
- Bonjour @TED:
- --EdouardHue (talk) 07:37, 1 June 2020 (UTC)
- Bonjour !
--EdouardHue (talk) 11:22, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

ComeOn rate limit
[edit]Hi Edouard, thanks for creating the ComeOn tool. I have spent many hours trying to figure it out today (I didn't even have java installed...) but have finally got it working. It will only let me upload about 380 files at a time, after which it says I have exceeded my rate limit and I have to wait "some time". Is this supposed to happen, and is there anything I can do to get around the limitation? I currently have about 2,000 files to upload, and more after that. Onceinawhile (talk) 22:25, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Onceinawhile: Hi! Thanks for using my tool. The rate limit is not built into ComeOn, it is enforced by Commons. There is no way to override it by yourself. It will trigger if you upload more than a number of files within a time period, and will reset after this period has ended. Whether you hit the limit or not mostly depends on the size of your files and the bandwidth of your connection. Unfortunately I can't find anymore the help pages where this limit is described. I vaguely remember that you can ask for a raise for your account. You should ask at the Village pump. Regards, --EdouardHue (talk) 09:43, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you Edouard. It is a great tool and has saved me an enormous amount of time. Onceinawhile (talk) 09:49, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
