There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.CategorizationBot (talk) 10:36, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

I have just deleted the following, because it is not in the correct place. I think you want to put the message on User talk:Sémhur.
As far as your question goes, I can find no file of yours that has been deleted recently and no message on your talk page that says a file will be deleted soon. It would be helpful in such cases if you would tell us what image is in question. Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 15:18, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

Merci beaucoup.
Cordialement.

File:Affiche Carnaval de Paris 1994.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added may soon be deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please replace the copyvio tag with and have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you disagree that the file is a copyright violation for any other reason, please replace the copyvio tag with a regular deletion request. Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Carnival Queens
[edit]Hi Basili. You created Category:Reines de fêtes et carnavals. Nice done, interesting. I actually have a problem, how to integrate that in the category-tree of Category:Women called queens. I believe, we should have a new sub-category there Category:Carnival Queens, which would have as another sub-cat Category:Carnival Queens of France. Therefor I would like to redirect your cat to the new ones and seperate fotos related to French and non-French carnivals. But I do not exactly understand the difference between "fêtes" and carnival. Watching the fotos, I believe, that "fêtes" are not carnival-related at all but festivals or ceremonies. Is that correct ? Often related with a product, like roses, fashion, cheese (Brie?), ... But basically the queens seemed (not any more?) to represent just a city or area, right ? Than I would collect them in Category:Regional Queens. What is a "La Reine de Reines" ? And what is a "Char de La Reine" ? So beside seperation French and non-French queens, one has to seperate carnival and product (e.g. Category:Rose Queens), ceremony/festival (e.g.: Category:Festival Queens) and regional queens. Would you agree ? Krgds --Wistula (talk) 11:24, 2 March 2014 (UTC)
Cordialement. Basili (discuter) 11:07, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks Basili ! I will see, how to handle the categorization in a senseful way. Another question please: today you do not have such (product-, region- or carnival) queens in France and Belgium anymore ? The tradition died with the war ? Kind regards --Wistula (talk) 12:17, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

Hi Basili, you put this image under GFDL and CC licenses, but also wrote "Domaine public" into the permission-entry. That makes hardly sense. It should be either GFDL/CC or PD. Also, "Photo" in the source-entry should be replaced by "own" if you are the photographer. --Túrelio (talk) 13:20, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
Per Commons:Overcat#Over-categorization I have removed Category:Mi-Carême au Carnaval de Paris from all these images as Category:Mi-Carême au Carnaval de Paris 2014 is already a sub-category of it. --Túrelio (talk) 13:43, 13 May 2014 (UTC)

[edit]This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Couverture du livre de souvenirs d'Ossip Minor en russe paru à Paris en 1933.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with GFDL to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with PD-self to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

Photographies colorisées has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category. In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you! |
