- Oppose At least the first 20 seconds are really not all that interesting. I'm sure it was a great IRL, but this kind of experience doesn't translate well to video. The final wave is kind of fun, though, so I might support a clip showing only that. --El Grafo (talk) 08:11, 11 August 2023 (UTC)
- @El Grafo: Thanks for the feedback. The final wave is what I was waiting for, so if this isn't successful I'll submit a shorter clip just of that - but I got the impression that longer was better here? Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 09:57, 11 August 2023 (UTC)
- Show what is interesting, not less and not more. A couple of seconds at the beginning to set the scene is a good idea, but who wants to wait 2/3 of a clip's length for something to happen? Unless you have some sort of narrative that builds up to a climax, of course, but that's not the case here.
- You're not alone, though. In my very personal opinion, a majority of the videos presented here are way too long for what is shown (or have too little content given their length). I think this may be a matter of mindset. People often seem to think along the lines of "I have this footage, what can I do with it?". For the viewer, it would usually be better to ask "I want to show XY, which parts of my footage are useful for that and how do I need to arrange them?" - then cut anything that does not serve a purpose.
