These information signs clearly aren't the uploaders own work and there's no reason they would be freely licensed in the meantime. So the images should be deleted as COPYVIO unless someone can provide evidence to the contrary.

Per COM:FOP SK, there is no freedom of panorama in South Korea. This church building was completed in 1964. I can find little information about the architect Choi Chang-kyu (최창규), so it is unclear if he is still living. As there is no commercial Freedom of Panorama in Kazakhstan, commercial licensing clearances from the two designers (one architect of the Presidential Palace and the other architect of the Parliament Building) are required. Photo is copyrighted in its source country. This photo currently states it is Public Domain in Sweden and the United States. However, this work originates from Canada, not Sweden. The assumption was it was taken for the Nobel Foundation and that tag would apply. It was actually taken and published in Canada in 1956 by Gaby, (Gabriel Desmarais).[2] The date on the photo show it existed physically as of December 1956. It is possibly Public Domain in the USA due to a lack of notice, but the work would need to be PD in both the source country and the USA to keep on the Commons. Copyright will not expire in Canada until January 1st, 2062 (Life+70 - d.1991+70).

Yeah... I always thought a majority of the micronation and alternative history flags in the SVG special or fictional flags category were out of scope, but at the time even unused ones, were deemed worth keeping if I recall correctly so with this one I fixed the seemingly empty file regardless of the content and moved on. There is no acceptable Freedom of Panorama in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Zaïre). Images of copyrighted architectural works can only be freely used in "newspapers, journals and school textbooks," but not in the Internet. These commercially-licensed images violate the copyrights of two architectural engineers of the government building. Per w:fr:Palais du Peuple (Kinshasa), the building was completed in 1979 and was authored by both Chinese architectural engineer Lin Kia-Wu and Congolese architectural engineer Seka Fwatuyisa.

Hunka is a Canadian citizen who resides in Canada, so there is no reason why PD-Canada should not apply. Are you saying his copyright is protected by some other jurisdiction, and if so, which one? Taking a copyrighted unpublished photograph from Poland/EU and publishing it in Canada without possibly consulting the original unknown author. There’s certainly some form of Ethical and legal considerations here. The Unknown author did not publish it themselves, but could possibly be determined by asking Hunka. Anyway, even if it is Public Domain in Canada which is possible, in order to keep on the Commons it also needs to be Public Domain in the USA - which is 95 years after publication or 120 years after creation. {{PD-1996}} cannot apply as it fails 2/3 of the criteria.     Copyright terms for Unknown authors are based on creation or publication, because we don’t know their age and cannot apply years to a death. When determining copyright status of a work, we have to apply the longest possible copyright term to ensure compliance with copyright laws. This means assuming the author survived and lived for the full duration of their copyright term. But we’re referring to a work by an unknown author though, 70 years for the European copyright terms after 1943 would be Jan 1 2014. It could have expired in Europe at that point. Copyright violation. Please remove this photo and all information about it as it violates the photographer's copyright. Unfortunately, I lost access to my old Robertsparks account from which I uploaded photos to the site in 2018 and wrote an article on Wikipedia about the model, which was later removed by the admins. I made a number of mistakes: I didn't include the photographer's name and chose a free licence. I have now been contacted by the photographer through the model and demanded the photo be removed as photographer haven’t given permission for free commercial use. Please, I ask you to remove the photo for me to avoid legal issues. I didn’t have enough knowledge about copyright at that time and uploaded those photos because I was asked by the model, but it turned out that I didn’t have a right to do that. Please help me. My old account Robertsparks was used only to upload the photos of one particular model. When I uploaded it, I violated the copyright without understanding that. Please, check out this link as an evidence of the fact that Robertsparks is not the author and copyright holder. The photo was made in 2016 during the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Moscow and was posted on the official fashion week website and social media. For some reason, some NARA document uploads within this category went very wrong - some multi-page documents were uploaded only partially. I replaced those partial versions with an upload of the full PDF.

  1. File:Alaska Hghway, Whitehorse Section, Mile 1464 to 1475.3, Construction, Proj. 3-H (B-1), 3-A (B-1), Levels 8C X-Sections, 1943, Book No. 5 - NARA - 83153313 (page 1).jpg series consists of 138 pages, but has only 106 uploaded. (see the redlinks in the "other pages" section) I replaced it with this PDF.
  2. File:Alaska Highway, Alaska Sec., As Constructed, General Notes, Mile 2000 to Mile 1955, 1943, Proj. 3-G, 3-D, 5 - NARA - 83153820 (page 1).jpg series consists of 41 pages, but has only 28 uploaded. Further, the uploaded "(page 1).jpg" is actually page 3 in the full version (which I uploaded here as PDF. (this means that the page numbers on the 28 uploaded pages are wrong too)
  3. File:Alaska Highway, Alaska sec., As Constructed, Levels & Topography, Mile 1954.7 to 1937, -1943-, Proj. 3-H, 8, (copy) - NARA - 83167027 (page 1).jpg series consists of 159 files, but has only 125 pages uploaded. Full version here.

The incomplete individual pages series are therefore redundant.

Dieses Logo besteht nur aus einfachen geometrischen Formen und Text. Es erreicht keine Schöpfungshöhe (spezifischere Beschreibung auf Englisch), die für urheberrechtlichen Schutz nötig ist, und ist daher gemeinfrei. Obwohl es zwar frei von urheberrechtlichen Beschränkungen ist, kann das Bild dennoch anderen Beschränkungen unterliegen. Siehe WP:PD § Fonts oder Template talk:PD-textlogo für weitere Informationen.
Es geht nicht um das dargestellte Werk bzw. Logo, sondern um das Foto. Und das ist kein einfacher "2D-Scan" sondern ein eigenständiges Werk, samt der "kreativen" Ausleuchtung und Falten. I suspect this is a copyvio given the lack of metadata and the iPhone XS screenshot size. I can find other uses of the image online but I suspect it was posted to Facebook/X and hence doesn't show in reverse image searches. Several watermarked as coming from MyHeritage, and File:Lord and Lady Mountbatten with VK Krishna Menon; Prince Philip following.jpg has watermarks all across the image. File:VK Krishna Menon and Queen Elizabeth II.jpg has already been deleted as a screengrab from Youtube, some of these images look like they are probably are too but I don't see why I should waste time finding the source for every one when it's clear these uploads aren't "Own work" as claimed. I found the photo at Find A Grave, which mentions it was uploaded in 2009, long before the 2022 upload. Is the FindAGrave user the same as the Commons user, or was it ripped from there, falsely increased resolution and colourized? I also found it at ParlInfo. Images were taken from https://archive.org/details/nist-911 which states a public domain licence. The NIST website at https://www.nist.gov/world-trade-center-investigation/photos-videos-and-simulations says of its wider collection that Materials available in the repository may be protected by copyrights owned by private individuals or organizations, and may be subject to restrictions on use.

It's possible that the archive.org collection is an (officially or unofficially) curated subset of genuinely public domain images, but this seem contradicted by the fact that some of the photos in that archive have a bright red copyright watermark within the image (eg. https://archive.org/details/NIST_9-11_Release_39 which says © 2001. New York City Police Department. All rights reserved. Used with permission of the City of New York.) that contradicts the public domain licence being claimed.

Unfortunately FOP in Belgium doesn't cover building interiors and these signs are probably copyrighted. So the images should be deleted as COPYVIO unless someone can provide evidence to the contrary.

The glass in the first image shows the reflection of a building and sign behind the photographer. Note the reversed text, indicating a mirror image. As for the second two, I can't speak for why that looks like interior lighting to you, but there are cobblestone streets and the weathering pattern on the signs clearly indicates they are outdoors. The weathering is likely rust and can be clearly seen if you zoom in to the edges of the sign. Of course a wall and cobblestone sidewalk are not going to have rust (though there is other weathering to been seen if you zoom in). In addition, tourist signs like this are also almost always outdoors. The sign refers to a specific building, which would make the most sense to be placed outside the building in question. I'm not sure what your talking with the rust. If you look at the bar in the top of the first image some of the paint is chipped off and it doesn't look rusty underneath. BTW, if you look at this image from Street View there's a sign almost exactly like this one inside of the building to the side of the word "personal" painted on the window. I'm not saying it's the exact sign, but they clearly have inside and the wall looks like it has the same yellow paint job. The link you sent doesn't work. That aside, rusting happens WAY faster outdoors because of the salt and water and that weathering looks very much like rust. The color is right and the pattern of infiltration is right. Furthermore, yellow walls with light grey stone at the base and square cobbles are exactly what you find on the exterior of the Berlaymont Building (File:Brussels Schuman monument.jpg).  Weak keep The nominator's reason ("advertisement for a pseudo-scientific therapy") isn't a valid reason for deletion in this case of a photo taken in public space. I actually find it quite striking and interesting that radon therapy is still advertised that way (when at the same time radon is widely discussed as a cause of lung cancer), or at least was in 2017, when the photo was taken... It is an interesting document and in scope for Commons. However, there is the freedom of panorama issue no one has mentioned yet: What about the photo on the banner? To fall under German FoP, it must be located permanently in public space. The question is, how "permanent" is/was it? FOP in Belgium doesn't cover building interiors and this map is probably copyrighted. So the image should be deleted as COPYVIO unless someone can provide evidence to the contrary. Adamant1 (talk) 22:40, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Mostly the floor plan. I'd consider it similar to a map. Although admittedly simpler then your average map of the globe. Regardless though map legends and particular design elements can be copyrighted.
