First of all, I apologize for not knowing the codes and procedures and such. This is my first time uploading an image to Wikimedia/Wikipedia. I am the photographer behind the image in question to be deleted, and I own the copyright to the image. I took the photo as a commission for Randy Brock (the subject) and uploaded it thinking it would be nice for his Wikipedia page to have a photo of him. I don't know the wikipedia rules, but it is possible I was not allowed to do that since Mr. Brock paid for my services and did not expressly provide me permission to upload the image. As for the authenticity of my claim that I am the creator of this photo, I can prove that without a doubt, I am the photographer. Notice that the copyright in the image credits Zinfandel Photography as the copyright holder. You can find my business tradename listing here: https://www.vtsosonline.com/online/BusinessInquire/BusinessInformation?businessID=291916 which clearly shows that Michael Z Rork owns Zinfandel Photography. I can provide proof that I am Michael Z Rork if necessary, in whatever means is appropriate. As for my permission to upload the file, that is a completely separate discussion, and I honestly do not know how that works beyond the fact that I am the copyright holder. My clients are generally granted full usage rights --not copyright-- as per the contract, but it appears I never got a signed contract from Mr. Brock. He may prefer that this image isn't used on Wikimedia, and if that is the case I would definitely uphold his wishes, but when I uploaded I did not think that would be an issue. --Michaelzrork (talk) 17:46, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

Copyright on a high school yearbook photo is almost certainly held by the photographer, the yearbook publisher, or the high school, and almost certainly not by the uploader, who has supplied bad crops and provided no proof for any claim to authorship of the original photographs. There's a disclaimer on the source page indicating that the poster has no idea what the disposition of copyright is on the works, and lists five other sources for the pictures on the page. - When a work is in the public domain in the U.S., the website where it's displayed doesn't change anything to that fact. Or are you saying that the work is not in the public domain in the U.S.? If so, why? For the rest, what is missing is the specific information about the reproduction. On that aspect, see the comment in another DR. - @Asclepias: Except if I take an image from CNN because I like the quality, the fact that I can also find it on the Library of Congress as public domain in lesser quality doesn't make it OK for me to take it from CNN and say it's from the Library of Congress or Twitter, or the local art museum, or my dad's website, or mt next door neighbor's cat's website when the actual file I took was not from a public domain source that clearly indicates such. The uploader is not being truthful about where he is getting material from in the first place, and it's not our job to go figure that out. The fact of the matter is that if the reproduction is on a site where the site claims it doesn't know the copyright status of the reproduction, COM:PRP should apply, as it should in all the cases where this uploader has been less than forthcoming with his sources. - Comment. The author died in 1884. The file is missing a U.S. status template, but that can probably be fixed. The rationale for the deletion request is unclear. But I'm guessing it might be interpreted as meaning that the identity of the person who made the reproduction is not specified and assuming that is not the writer of the article. That is indeed a problem because then the Commons description is missing an information that is needed by readers to know if the file can be reused in some countries. There is a very large number of files on Commons that are missing this information. However, on Commons it is not considered a problem of copyright, because of the PD-Art policy. And the presence of that information does not seem to be a requirement of the policies of Commons to host the files. Unfortunately, perhaps. User:Gunnex This photo is 100% not a work of هفشجانی. It was actually taken by and is used by many news sites. Reuters itself classifies it as its own photo in its news article: Saudi Interior Ministry names Qatif, Medina bombers; suspects arrested. Even other news websites say it is Reuters' photo. I can't even understand what you are saying. Your English is really poor. Linking a source without any name on the image won't make it yours especially when there is a source clearly mentioning whose work it is has been linked. All sources that do mention of the name mention the image being from . Here are some examples: Muslim world outraged by blast near Masjid-e-Nabawi, Suicide bombers strike at heart of Islam on eve of Eid, Deadly suicide blast at Islamic holy site in Medina near the grave of the Prophet where thousands gathered ahead of the end of Ramadan. Plus Reuters itself says it is its own photo. Saudi Interior Ministry names Qatif, Medina bombers; suspects arrested. Clearly you didn't take this picture and you haven't shown any evidence of permission from the source either which is required when uploading someone else's work. Regarding File:بمبگذاری انتحاری مدینه ۲۰۱۶.jpg, even the (by uploader) indicated source http://www.farsnews.com/newstext.php?nn=13950414001486 says "©2016 Fars News Agency. All rights reserved" (per Newsboy39 findings: orignally a Reuter photo), so the uploader's licensing via {{Cc-by-sa-4.0}} seems (again) to be just randomly selected (simply ignoring pending copyrights). Gunnex I will like to bring to your attention another image. This image File:عکس هوایی از شهر هفشجان، سال 1346 خورشیدی.TIFF which he claims to have taken doesn't seem like at all it was taken by anyone, it is definitely not his own work. It's an image showing the air above Hafshejan and from how small the city looks, it is definitely an image from a sattelite. The claim of user هفشجانی having taken it himself seems prima facie false. Gunnex I've confirmed another image of his violating copyright. This image File:نقشه غار جهان بین هفشجان.png is not his. It was made by other authors. I searched for the Jahanbin Caves which are shown in the image and came upon this Caving in Iran website which clearly specifies the image was drawn in 2000 by Yousef Vaghef, Leyla Esfandyari and Saeid Varzand. While there has been certain issues about uploading copyrighted images by me due to my ignorance earlier, images listed in this Deletion request are either taken by me or someone i know who has autorised me to use them.They are certainly not taken from any copyrighted source and neither can they be found by reverse search. Nominating all files uploaded by me just because i had a few copyrighted files deleted previously, is blatant ignorance and disrespect of the hard work i do here. This particular user seems to have certain problem with me which probably makes him do that. If proof of copyright violation is found for any of the files mentioned, i request them to be deleted. And hopefully no biased decision will be taken based on my history.This is my final communication about this matter on this page. Thank You.

- All your recent images, the most recent one being File:Norales.jpg, is clearly copied from here. Similarly with your earlier images, you mention that "someone i know who has authorized me". In that case, users need to send permissions via Wikipedia:OTRS and not as your own work. Please don't say that it's because of your "earlier ignorance". - The first 7 or so images indeed appear to be copyright vilations, but as for the rest they appear to be own works, and the author is attributed in most. I couldn't find any of the older ones anywhere else online, in my opinion the older one's with no concrete proof of copyright infringement should be kept. There's no COM:OTRS and all the files are licensed as own work. - Keep and prefer a discussion with him on his talk page first. I think we had a discussion at VP earlier (years ago) and he said he has no problem in changing the position of that template. We can see wording like "Want to see more works of mine?" in many user templates nowadays. External links to personal websites or Facebook or similar social media is also quite common. The copyright status cannot be confirmed at the given source, as its URL is dead and cannot be viewed through the wayback machine at archive.org. The resolution is unusually small for a US-GOV work, there aren't any EXIF and it's not a setting that is clearly only accessible for US officials. - A stylized symbol of a kaliapparat is used in the American Chemical Society logo, originally designed in the early 20th century by Tiffany's Jewelers.

- First, the central image. This is W.L. Bragg's stereographic diagram of the x-ray crystallography of rock salt, from 1913, as attributed on the TOC page, and as published, among many other places, in his 1915 text. It would not be copyrightable anyhow, as diagramming a fact of nature (a diffraction pattern) and embodying no human creativity, but it would be long expired anyhow.
- Second, the ACS logo. Checking the trademark registration shows that it was initially 'used in commerce' in December of 1909. So, also long expired.

- Third, the 'arrangement' of the elements on the cover. Likely copyright violation: The image appears to be a poorly scaled-up version of a hotel-booking company's logo available on the Web (example). As this was allegedly uploaded by the author, I would expect a better quality image. That said, it's possible the image doesn't meet the threshold of originality necessary for copyright protection.
