- Author and source are completely implausible (see much hits on google) so user Vanzanten has giving willful false (license) information!? I also agree AnonMoos, the SVG is completely ugly, another reason that User:Cronholm144 can't be the real author. - I'm the incompetent one??? You're the one who can't read! Anonmoos didn't say whether either version is "ugly", but actually says that the JPEG is of "kind of blurred, and overall not too great... ". The uploader is the one who claimed the SVG is ugly, ignoring the fact his upload is low quality and blurry. Learn to read before you attack my competence. As for my discernment, we have an SVG of this image, uploading a inferiorly-formatted copy is a valid reason for deletion and it has been accepted thousands of times by many users, so I don't give a damn what you think of my discernment in this DR. - Well, taking a look at those edits, it looks clear that most were removing vandalism or incredibly unhelpful edits. Looking at the works of the artist they are indeed capable of drawing and creating in svg format, so suggesting that it 'seems completely implausible' that it is {own work} is what's the polite word for 'BULLSHIT' ? hmm I can't recall, I'll try to think of one later. Also, using a template that directs to discussion on a non-existent talkpage is rather pointless don't you think ? Maybe actually adding something to the talkpage, so that it can be discussed is a great idea. If there is anything to discuss, that is the place, not the edit history. Kept: Hey, I'm the owner of the work. That template is being used under the works I created or upgraded. And I generally own the copyrights of those works but when I'm uploading the works (images, maps, etc.) I prefer to use Attribution-Share Alike license for people to use my work freely as long as they credit my name to them. And this template is used in the description parts of these works I mentioned above, to notificate people about how they should use them. In most countries, all paintings, sculpture, architecture, text, and other creative works have copyrights which last for 70 years after the death of the creator. An image of a work that is still under copyright is a derivative work, and infringes on the copyright so that we cannot usually keep the image on Commons. In some countries, there is a special exception to the copyright law which allows such images under certain circumstances. We call that exception freedom of panorama (FOP). - Comment - I moved this one. The Flickr image doe not show with either TinEye or Google Image search (hence I moved it). Examining both, it is obvious that the Flickr image could not have been copied directly - the quality is not there to allow for a re-size upward to the current commons image. The user uploaded 2 files to en-wiki in 2007 and made a couple of edits - no more. The other file (s)he uploaded is currently on a Possibly unfree file notice, as that was stated to be a copy of a Flickr image (and the same uploader as well) - so there's no point is asking the uploader as (s)he's long gone (also seems like the Flickr uploader hasn't uploaded since 2007 either). Likely copyright violations. The uploader, who claims to be a professional photographer, has demonstrably made it a habit to grab other people's non-free works from various Internet sources, upscale them, alter the colours and contrast, crop or clone out any watermarks or other identifying elements, and upload the files to Commons with shamelessly fraudulent authorship claims (explicitly claiming "Photography Rasoul Ali," sometimes even in the file name, and linking to http://www.rasoulali.com/). Several of the photos have been grabbed from http://ilturquoise-evereast.blogspot.com/. Others have been taken from Airliners.net, Flickr or even other Commons users. The user also operates a Flickr account, a Deviantart account, a Blogspot account and a Maktoobblog account, where many of the same copyright violations appear. I have not been able to determine the real source of these remaining files, but after the number of blatant copyright violations I've found, I have zero confidence in the uploader's authorship claims at this point.

Acording to Commons:Copyright rules by territory#Spain: "(...) the copyright expires 70 years after the death of the author. However, works of authors who died before December 7, 1987 are dealt with by the 1879 law, which sets a protection time of 80 years post mortem auctoris". Resuming: Not in PD till 2022 or 2032 (and certainly not "own work" as declared by uploader.

Normally, since start in Commons the uploader used the digicam Canon DIGITAL IXUS 95 IS (+ few files with Sony Ericsson Modell K800i in the beginning) and mostly all of his uploads are configured accordingly. In his uploads without or with other exif I encountered several problems, which caused 8 copyvios and 2x DR today = Commons:Deletion requests/File:Hospital Universitario de Burgos Aérea.PNG + Commons:Deletion requests/File:ITCL Sede.jpg. Copyvios mostly grabbed from panoramio-accounts, skyscrapercity.com, blogs, etc. There are still some files living where I doubt the claimed authorship, also for his lastest upload = File:El Colacho.jpg (1st use of a NIKON D90), but eventually cropped from http://www.jcyl.es/jcyl/patrimoniocultural/mascaradas/castrillo.html = http://wa4.www.jcyl.es/jcyl/patrimoniocultural/mascaradas/alargadas/burgos/castrillodemurcia/castrillo1.jpg.

The uploader of this file has tried to get this image deleted (see Commons:Deletion requests/File:Flag of Ontario (Green Ensign).svg) and, if not possible, require attribution whenever it's used. Both request cannot be accepted since our policies prevent the uploaders from changing the licensing conditions and forbid the requirement of attribution (see Commons:Licensing#Acceptable_licenses). However, it this specific case, I don't think this image comply to the basic scope policy in our project. This flag is a fictitious flag proposed by the uploader and therefore lacks any encyclopaedic purpose. I personally don't care too much whether this file is kept or deleted, but the initially-given rationale is not really sufficient in itself, since Commons has many hundreds of "Special or fictional flags", and most of the time they aren't deleted just for being "Special or fictional", but only if there's some additional aggravating factor (such as being hoaxing or hatemongering). It's one of the more realistic proposals I've seen for Ontario (most I've seen are junk), and if you're seriously proposing this and it was adopted, it would just have to come back to Commons anyways and any rights you may have had would transfer from you to the provincial government. I think that he looks about as old as on this photo from 1966, so it is possible that the sculptor might not have died before 1951 as required by {{PD-Ukraine}} or before 1946 as required by {{PD-1996}}. File:Pamjatnyk Drovnjaku.jpg states: "Sculptor Oleshko (Олешко). Architect Yaholnyk (Ягольник)". Unfortunately, I can't figure out when these people died or whether they are still alive. In most countries, all paintings, sculpture, architecture, text, and other creative works have copyrights which last for 70 years after the death of the creator. An image of a work that is still under copyright is a derivative work, and infringes on the copyright so that we cannot usually keep the image on Commons. In some countries, there is a special exception to the copyright law which allows such images under certain circumstances. We call that exception freedom of panorama (FOP). Unfortunately there is no applicable FOP exception in this case.

Images are taken from Arvika.se. Their licence says that images can be used freely, except that they can't be "distorted" (förvanskade). This forbids derivative works.

- "except that they can't be distorted" seems to refer to the law, not to the license. See the discussion on Riktlinjer för bildarkivet, where the copyright law and its implications are discussed: "Upphovsrätten innehåller också en ideell del som ... förbud mot att återges i kränkande former." - If so, the requirement being mentioned has no legal bearing and either these images can be used or no recent images from EU can be used, as the law forbids distortion (or whatever word is used in the law).
