Color scheme of those two Chinese flags

[edit]

Can we have a civil discussion about the color scheme on those two Chinese flags? I'd like to hear your actual opinion on what's wrong with using the standardized PRC color scheme because you didn't give any arguments that weren't insulting me and spamming multiple different replies to other Wikipedia links.

When I had said "print =/= digital" that means "print does not mean digital", it's an inequation sign; the sources you've been providing are old Wikipedia files and images of physical flags with print colors. I had these set to all use the same color for consistency's sake because it looks better if everything's using the same color scheme if they're all based on eachother. I asked you if you could confirm that that color scheme you're specifically trying to keep was in use and you had not provided a source that is linking Wikipedia again. I'd like to hear your actual thoughts on this. NorthTension (talk) 10:00, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's really that there is more than enough evidence that the standardized variant was only widespread as the sole official colors of the Flag of China by 2021, and I will admit, I was wrong about the non-standardized version being the sole flag colors during that era. Until 2021, both variants were used interchangably, but during that time period (Chinese Soviet Republic) the non-standardized colors were more widespread, as more sources show the non standardized colors up to at least the 21st century, as for the record on the CPC website 11 years before 2021, it shows photos of both variants being used as the actual Flag of China. Wheatley2 (talk) 17:20, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay so can I change those two flag files back to the standardized colors? NorthTension (talk) 22:05, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, since at the time the standardized colors were not widespread, I would suggest keeping the current versions, but no pressure. Wheatley2 (talk) 22:26, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
my main concern is that it just looks nicer when they're all lined up NorthTension (talk) 00:27, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Think about proper historicality and not just aesthetics, I think that aesthetics isn't that important. Wheatley2 (talk) 02:09, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I mean I do and it seems everyone else does considering that I've already updated practically every other old PRC file and the only dissent I've ever received is from you on those two. I'd like to change it back but I want a guaranyee there's not going to be an issue when I do so. NorthTension (talk) 12:28, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
..Fine, I suppose it's okay. Wheatley2 (talk) 18:18, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's just it's annoying since the source images defintely didn't have those colors. Wheatley2 (talk) 18:19, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
