Colorado legislators
I obtained releases for this images this morning, and those are confirmed in OTRS. Shortly after they were confirmed, the folks who released the images sent me another message, saying essentially "Hold on a sec, we're not 100% sure we have the authority to release these images, and would you please not use them until we double-check." I placed the disputed tag on at that point because I didn't know whether it would take hours or weeks for them to get back to me. As it turned out, it only took hours for them to confirm that, yes, their original release was in fact perfectly valid, and so now I'm removing them. Long delay in granting permission
Hi I've been waiting for ages for them to sort some pending permissions. Image:Flat Holm PV solar array near Fog Horn Station.JPG was taken by my staff on Flat Holm island to illustrate the article on Wikipedia and as it was not taken by me personally I explained to commons permissions that the whole purpose of their job is to promote the island - and solar power in particular, so the idea it may be copyright is absurd! I can be contacted on t.riches@cardiff.gov.uk to prove I am authorised if necescary.
Also been waiting for ages for the Image:Bert le vack.jpg - I even got his grandson Dale le Vack to confirm he is happy for the picture to be used to illustrate the article and have emailsd permissions at least 5 times but I just keep getting an acknowledgement and no action, so anything you can do to help sort eith of these would be appreciated as it is very frustrating. Hello Rjd0060! it seems that I´ve made a mistake while uploading the current file. The original source of the picture is the link showed in the information section, but it does not need any authorization from the author or source (that´s why I erased the request from the information box), because it is now in the public domain according to the Argentinian Intellectual Property law (as shown in the information box). Hello, the image Ingo molnar.jpg is an cropped version of Image:Molnar AND Tweedie.jpg. The original - witch I've been uploading has an correct OTRS-permission (TicketID=1672567). I've been cutting out half of the image myself (using GIMP). Modification is allowed by the licence (CC-BY 3.0). Like it says in the template... i did sent an e-mail about the image to the OTRS system, and it was decided by User:Howcheng that the best way to deal with the problems that arose from uploading the image and the uncertainty about its permission status was with a full-fledged deletion request.

thanks for notifying. I'm quite surprised that no permission has arrived at OTRS. The depicted person is the head of the en:EORTC (European Cancer organisation) and I was offered that image on behalf of the EORTC as a replacement for my 14 years old one. As they hadn't taken the image by themselves, I had explained to them how to send the permission to OTRS. That was midth of July. I'm currently very busy and can't commit much time on it. It really took months before you did anything with the OTRS-pending thing and now all at a sudden you remove the images within a week. I was planning to ask the photographer permission for uploading many more of his photographs, that are often more beautiful and valuable than these. But now I feel ashamed to have to tell that his images have been removed... Do you realize to what extent you can damage the Wikipedia projects by being so impatient and unfriendly?

Notice of namespace-rename "Image" -> "File"
Dear user, the MediaWiki developers recently announced that the "Image:" namespace is going to be renamed to "File:". "Image:" will remain an alias. The canonical namespace name wgCanonicalNamespace will change from "Image" to "File".
I noticed that you use wgCanonicalNamespace in either your monobook.js page or a JavaScript file in your userspace (check this list).
Please check and replace all occurrences of
wgCanonicalNamespace == "Image"
with
wgNamespaceNumber == 6

In fact I did contact the International Red Cross to explicitely get the right for Wikipedia, I have the email confirming that they agree for the usage of this images for Wikpedia providing the source is given and they are low resolution. I do not understand what can be done more

- Strangely enough, I see that very very frequently. Usually, I just look at the deletion log here to find an online admin, and bug them to protect it. Hello Rjd0060, I am writing you with a question. I found your name here so I thought you may be a good person to ask. Yesterday, I uploaded Image:Margaret Thatcher.png with OTRS pending. OTRS responded via email to me today, thanked me for submitting the image, but did not update the tagging and licensing information on the image itself. The license is GFDL; I would do it, but I do not know the url of the confirmed image on the OTRS system. Any help you could provide in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! I see that you deleted APWebsite due it being out of the project scope. Hi, you suppressed APWebsite which is referenced by all the botanic pages.
I know that wikicommons is not a encyclopedy, but we need some pages like Cronquist_System, Strasburger and APG_II to explain which classification we follow in the {{Taxonavigation}}. It is very important to tell the classification followed because a botanic family has a totally different meaning (content, placement) depending on the classification followed.
APWebsite is not simply a website, but also a classification followed by many botanist and more important it is followed by wikicommons !
It is important (also legally ?) to reference the source of our classification.
Could you, please, recreate this article, and perhaps add a comment in the discussion page saying that it should not be suppressed again (It had already been suppressed and recreated by the administrator User:Zzyzx11).

I looked back through the edit history and found that it was moved from Template namespace to Project namespace on 29 September 2008 by CarolSpears. Since it contains no media, it is not within scope in Project namespace as you rightly observed. I hope you don't mind, but I restored it and moved it back to Template namespace where it serves to document one of the parameters of Template:Taxonavigation. Looking for advice to make sure I obtain copyright permission properly
It appears to me that you are copyright knowledgeable. I have a question, don't see an obvious place to ask it, so I thought I'd ask you.
I have a scan of a photograph I'd like to add to Nera White. Not one of our more "important" articles, but important to me. I happened to be in correspondence with Nera's son, and asked if he could supply me with a photograph. He did, but before I upload it, I want to make sure I cross my t's and get the right permission. I found Commons:Email templates, with specific wording, but it assumes you can link to the image. The image isn't online.
I didn't want to put it online, then ask for permission, partly because that doesn't sound like the right sequence, partly because I don't know the person well, and our past interchanges have had gaps of weeks.
Then I found Commons:OTRS, which suggests it is OK to upload, with an OTRS pending template. However, scanning the talk page, it sounds like there is a fairly limited timeframe.
I'm now thinking about doing the following:
I will email the permissions wording to Nera's son, asking him to clarify with his mother that she is fine with the permission (he's actually already done that, but I know you want the right wording). He can identify a date he will plan to send the permission, and I will arrange to upload the scanned image a day or two before, so that there isn't a long gap between the upload and the receipt of permission.

Why screenshot with OTRS permission deleted?
Hi Rjd0060, I just saw you deleted the screenshot I had uploaded today: File:Wiki_PSF_Lab_2.4_beta_screenshot_1.PNG Following http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Permission#Using_OTRS_to_gain_permission I have requested and obtained the free license (GFDL) for the screenshot from the copyright holder. I have forwarded the email permission to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org today at 1:40PM (CST). The image was tagged with "OTRS pending" as recommended. So, why did you delete the image? I cannot tag it with "free screenshot" since the software it shows is not free, only the screenshot is free, that is why I used the "Non-free software screenshot" tag. I am new to this, so please let me know how I can upload a screenshot (for which I have the free GFDL license permission) for a copyrighted software correctly.
