Luckily spambots are predictable. :) Praxidicae (talk) 13:51, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I've been around with the broom a bit but if you find any troublesome garbage let me know (if I'm around). The help is appreciated. --Herby talk thyme 14:08, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Pretty sure you didn't take a photo of yourself. Also refrain from editing my userpage, thanks. Praxidicae (talk) 00:16, 26 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Post on my wall

Hello,

I rec’d a notification on my feed that you posted on my wall but can’t see what it was about?

ToonIsALoon (talk) 18:45, 5 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't, it was a removal of vandalism. Praxidicae (talk) 18:46, 5 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notification about possible deletion

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Hello Praxidicae, the following content you uploaded violates one or more of our policies and therefore has been or will soon be deleted:

The Wikimedia Commons (this website) only hosts media files with a realistic educational purpose and that can be used for any purpose, including:
  • use in any work, regardless of content
  • creation of derivative works
  • commercial use
  • free distribution

See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons, and Commons:Image casebook for some specific examples. Some other Wikimedia projects have different licensing policies. For example, the English Wikipedia allows fair use of sounds and photographs. This is not the case on Wikimedia Commons; "fair use" materials are not acceptable here.

Please make sure that you only upload educational content you have created yourself, those which are out of copyright, or those for which you have the required permission for the work to be used in all the ways described above. Please note that derivative works of copyrighted material are also considered copyrighted. Again, please read through Commons:Licensing, which is quite crucial, to understanding how Wikimedia Commons works. Thanks for your contribution, and please do leave me a message if you have further questions.

Hejka,
wiem że dodałeś szablon o możliwym usunięciu moich 2 plików, jednak pozyskałem zgodę autora. Po opublikowaniu plików wysłałem także informację do autora, aby wysłał e-mail z pozwoleniem.

Word of mouth permission is worthless, copyright is a legal matter and these do not appear to be free of copyright or otherwise licensed in such a manner that we can have them on Commons. Do not remove the tag again. Praxidicae (talk) 19:00, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Simon James Green

Hi, you removed a photo I added for an article that you also removed, about author Simon James Green. You said the reason was copywrite infringement but I got the photo from the author's own website where he says

"If you need my author photo or cover images for an event, school visit, article or review, you can get everything you need here - just click on the button or photo to download."

I figured this would cover copywrite?

Thanks Ianto4242 (talk) 22:04, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Then the owner of the photo can properly COMMONS:DONATE it, their website has no indication that it's properly licensed. Praxidicae (talk) 22:13, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Photos of Rame Lahaj

I'm working on OTRS requests. Should take a few days. Don't delete them just yet. Arianit (talk) 20:37, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Get OTRS first, don't upload copyright violations. Praxidicae (talk) 20:39, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
How would the author refer in OTRS request to a file which is not on Commons? You already deleted Portrait of Rame Lahaj 1.jpg. Please allow reasonable time to respond, I have over 1,000 contributions of all kinds to Commons. Arianit (talk) 11:50, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

My explanation

Hello, I have the permission of the author to upload all these images. She is waiting for me to finish uploading the photos to send the email to VTR. Thank you!MiguelAlanCS (talk) 20:13, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

that would've been nice to know before you uploaded them all without tags for permission. Praxidicae (talk) 20:16, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I did the same with Yssa Olvencia, here are her photos. can I continue? there are still about 150 photos left. Thanks again. MiguelAlanCS (talk) 20:18, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No, please have them email first because right now it just looks like you're creating copyright violations and you're not adequately adding the permissions template either, creating massive work amounts for other volunteers. Praxidicae (talk) 20:20, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
How complicated you make it! Please understand this situation. I will finish uploading them and after she sends an email to VTR with the list of all the photographs, it is much easier for the donor. MiguelAlanCS (talk) 20:22, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You made it complicated by incorrectly identifying at as 1.) own work 2.) without proper permission and 3.) without proper release. Praxidicae (talk) 20:24, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I see that you do not trust me, and that I have been collaborating in Commons for a long time. I will tell the photographer to send an email first, but this type of thing means that when we from user groups ask for, or even beg for, photos, the process becomes complicated. MiguelAlanCS (talk) 20:30, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again. The photographer has just sent the email to VRT. MiguelAlanCS (talk) 20:52, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Praxidicae: In the future, I would strongly recommend that you don't tag large batches of similar images (say, more than 10) as copyvio. It would be a good idea to talk to the uploader first, and if you don't get a timely and/or reasonable response, starting a batch DR is much simpler and makes for better organization should the images need to undergo common processing (e.g. VRT tagging, deletion, and/or undeletion). When you have large batches like this, there's a very good chance they are part of some common effort and are not actually copyvios.
@MiguelAlanCS: Contrary to what was said above, it is absolutely standard practice to upload first and then email, as you've done; COM:RELGEN even expects the copyright holder to link to the already uploaded file(s). The step you were missing, which could have avoided all this, was to add a {{subst:PP}} tag to indicate that VRT permission is pending. -- King of ♥ 03:53, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks @King of Hearts: . I'll do it like you said next time! Now i know the right way and i'll continue to search and bring more photos from donors! :) MiguelAlanCS (talk) 05:30, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

= Question!

Hi there! My name is Lauren and I have been working on the Jim Newton article draft and Headshot upload. I am new to Wikipedia editing/ publishing/ anything but reading. I have been trying to successfully write, cite, and reference this article about Newton but am having a hard time. Regarding that photo (headshot by Steve Stroud), I have written permission from both the photographer and Newton to use it on this article page. I was wondering id you could help me successfully cite it with the proper copyright so it will upload to Wiki. I saw you referenced Newton's muckrack as having that photo, but I believe that was self-uploaded, as Newton hired Stroud to take that photo. Could you help me? thank you so much for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Laurenmunro810 (talk • contribs) 02:36, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
