Forellenbirne
[edit]Hi Parker Higgins,
do you have a hi-res version of File:Pyrus communis Forelle.jpg?--Kopiersperre (talk) 17:53, 10 February 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, it should be superseded by File:Pomological Watercolor POM00007002.jpg ParkerHiggins (talk) 18:09, 10 February 2016 (UTC)
- Nope, not that one. If we wanted a public domain upload, of it, Internet Archive has a scanned copy of the book it's in, but the quality seems to be a bit lower. Alas, in this case it's not from the pomological watercolor collection I've uploaded. ParkerHiggins (talk) 20:22, 10 February 2016 (UTC)
File:John Weitzmann at the Creative Commons Global Summit 2015 (22052668670).jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Pomological Watercolor Collection
[edit]Dear Parker, do you think the Pomological Watercolor Collection is now 'feature complete' on Commons?--Frontieras (talk) 12:48, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, it is. The areas where it could still be improved are probably more consistent and deeper categorization, and possibly some kind of curation of good images, etc. But it's got the full collection, which isn't going to grow very much if at all (very seldom they do find new ones to add to the archive) and they've all got just about all the information that's available from the USDA. ParkerHiggins (talk) 23:00, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
The cultivar classification is probably done, but I've just noticed, that Mrs. Shull has also painted dozens of illustrations of plant diseases, molds, etc..
-
some mold
-
some mold
-
apple scab (fruit)
-
?
-
Taphrina deformans
-
also Taphrina deformans?
I think we need a plant pathologist!--Frontieras (talk) 09:40, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
Commons bot inactivity
[edit]Hello!
Your bot has been listed at Commons:Bots/Requests/de-flag 5 as being inactive for over two years. As a housekeeping measure we'd like to remove the bot flag from inactive bot accounts, unless you expect the bot will be operated again in the near future. If you wish for your bot to retain it's bot flag, please speak up on the deflag page. If you consent to the removal of the bot flag (or do not reply on the deflag page) you can re-request the bot flag at Commons:Bots/Requests should you need it again. Regards, ~riley (talk) 22:37, 2 March 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Riley! That seems appropriate. Thanks for the notice. ParkerHiggins (talk) 23:32, 2 March 2018 (UTC)

Kudos
[edit]I just read your blog post about the USDA's Pomological Watercolor Collection, and I wanted to say great work arguing for the importance of having high resolution imagery, reaching out to the USDA, and then uploading the files themselves. Looking forward to watching your Wikicon talk and hearing all the details in there. Thanks for helping enrich the commons and Commons. Opencooper (talk) 09:54, 21 December 2022 (UTC)
