File:Du Rocher aux pyramides - cultiver sa francophonie avec Jersey et l'Egypte.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Thanks for uploading File:Pierre Lognoné et la Vérité des Orangers de Saint-Exupéry.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Pierre Lognoné et la Vérité des Orangers de Saint-Exupéry.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons, and Commons:Image casebook for some specific examples. Some other Wikimedia projects have different licensing policies. For example, the English Wikipedia allows fair use of sounds and photographs. This is not the case on Wikimedia Commons; "fair use" materials are not acceptable here.
Please make sure that you only upload educational content you have created yourself, those which are out of copyright, or those for which you have the required permission for the work to be used in all the ways described above. Please note that derivative works of copyrighted material are also considered copyrighted. Again, please read through Commons:Licensing, which is quite crucial, to understanding how Wikimedia Commons works. Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.
If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. - Dear @Didym
- You need to explain your censorship methods which undermine the encyclopedic objective or the rules of Wikipedia.
- Wikipedia has more than 20,000 French-speaking contributors. And in total isolation, you are the only one to make such malicious and conspiratorial remarks.
- Contributors are required not to participate in an edit war under penalty of being blocked.
- Wikipedia is not here to suffer from edit wars in which contributors undo edits. This non-collaborative behavior is prohibited by the “three revocations rule”.
- In case of editorial disagreement, they must discuss it and reach a consensus before any further modification on the same subject.
- You must therefore conduct more research on the subjects, amend with independent secondary sources, enrich the contents etc... Kevlo007007 (talk) 09:28, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
Copyright violations

Hello Kevlo92400.
You have uploaded one or more files that are copyright violations. You have done so despite requests from editors not to do so, and despite their instructions. See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules by subject matter useful. This is your last warning. The next time you upload a file that violates copyright, you will be blocked. Please leave me a message if you have further questions. |

- Dear @Didym
- Are you an expert of copyright violations ?
- You are sending a "last warning" ... Well, Can you justify that I have "done so despite requests from editors not to do so" ?
- I am waiting for more explanation. As soon as possible.

Familysearch
[edit]I started an entry for: Théophile Joseph Lognoné at Familysearch https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/GGR1-4Y3 Register for free and fill out the family tree. You can backup all your images there. You should also create a Findagrave entry for him and other family members and add images there too. I always make sure I have the images in at at least three places. You can also create an entry for each family member at Wikitree for free and add images there. You can create an entry for each person at Wikidata. I created: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q124083997 The Wikidata entry then links to Familysearch, Wikitree and Findagrave. You can also create a Wikipedia like entry for each person at Familypedia, It uses the same wiki software and you can upload unlimited images there, they accept fair-use imagery. Write me back. RAN (talk) 17:53, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for your help. Kevlo007007 (talk) 18:08, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
- I Think you have mistakes in the tree at https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/GGR1-4Y3, you had Théophile Joseph Lognoné in twice, once as his own child. I fixed that. He was married twice. Is that correct? You also have Pierre Lognoné born 10 years after the death of his father. Maybe you meant to put in Theophile Lognoné Jr. and added in the birth and death dates for the father. I merged the two, but maybe we just needed to change the birth and death dates? --RAN (talk) 18:12, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
- Sure, let me correct it Kevlo007007 (talk) 18:15, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
- Once you learn the tricks for detaching and re-adding it is easy, but not obvious at first. Don't forget to add in all those amazing images. I will start a Wikitree entry for you and then send you the link. --RAN (talk) 18:17, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
- Sure, I will add all of them. Kevlo007007 (talk) 18:19, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
- You just have to create Théophile Lognoné Jr. and link to already created Marguerite Marie Chanvril, and all is well. The error was duplicating Théophile Lognoné Sr. instead of creating Théophile Lognoné Jr., which gave all those red flag error messages. See: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q124083997 for all the new links. You should create the Findagrave entry today, so we can add it to Wikidata. You can click edit at Familypedia anytime, the default language is English there. --RAN (talk) 19:23, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
- If you look at https://www.familysearch.org/tree/pedigree/descendancy/GVPK-8YX and expand it to 4 generation on the right side, you will see hundreds of document that need to be attached. Another user added all the names in CAPS and they should be reduced to match the other names. --RAN (talk) 01:20, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
Familypedia
[edit]If you load all your images at Familypedia it will detect that you have images at Commons already, just click on "upload anyway", since some may get deleted at Commons. Familypedia is run by the guy that started Wikipedia. https://familypedia.fandom.com/wiki/Th%C3%A9ophile_Joseph_Lognon%C3%A9_(1869-1920) Familypedia is the same as Wikipedia, but for ordinary people, you might be able to get a Wikipedia entry for him also. --RAN (talk) 18:44, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
You may want to get the Ancestry DNA test. It connects you to dozens of distant cousins. You can also load the DNA data to Wikitree and to GEDmatch and get more matches. --RAN (talk) 18:52, 3 January 2024 (UTC)

MANY THANKS for your help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kevlo007007 (talk • contribs) 18:51, 5 January 2024 (UTC)
- Photographs you have taken yourself, you can add under the CC license. It is always best if they still have the camera metadata, so you can prove you took them yourself. If not you can always go back to the museum and take new photos. If this photos was taken by yourself add a note in the image that you visited the museum. If you have loaded the image previously to Facebook, those websites may have stripped of the camera data to protect your privacy. Facebook also reduces the image size. I have this problem for many of my early images. You can also load images that you have taken yourself to Flickr, like you have done previously. --RAN (talk) 19:03, 5 January 2024 (UTC)

- 1/ Do you know how I can extend to all the children of Théophile Joseph Lognoné : https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Th%C3%A9ophile_Joseph_Lognon%C3%A9
- - Pierre Eugène Lognoné (1930-2022)

- - Paul Gabriel Lognoné (1934–2017)
- - Jean Théophile Lognoné (1923–1986)
- And his brother and sister, both watchmakers :
- - Léon Lognoné (1899 - 1984)
- - Marie Lognoné (1897-1984)
- All also the great grand children and great great grand children ?
- 2/ How does it work to create a Wikipedia page for Theophile Joseph Lognoné and Theophile Julien Lognoné Kevlo007007 (talk) 17:33, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for your instrumental support.
- I am still strugling on Wikidata. I am not sure if I have the casse to add it . That's why I asked the process to add new family members.
- Any recommendation ? Kevlo007007 (talk) 17:56, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
- Any dead person is eligible for a Wikidata entry, so long as they have a reference, and we have the French Death Index as a reference. Living people would not have a reference, unless they are more "famous" and have a reference in the news, or somewhere on the internet.
- For Wikipedia you start with a draft article: w:Draft:Theophile Joseph Lognoné and w:Draft:Theophile Julien Lognoné and when it is complete with references, you can submit for approval. Just click on the blue link to start. You can import the text from the article you created at https://www.wiki-rennes.fr/Th%C3%A9ophile_Lognon%C3%A9 You will just need to format the references in the Wikipedia style. You can also cut and paste the article to Familypedia. See: https://familypedia.fandom.com/wiki/Th%C3%A9ophile_Joseph_Lognon%C3%A9_(1869-1920) The more places you store the biographies, the more likely they will be there in 100 years. --RAN (talk) 17:52, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
Geni
[edit]If you want to concentrate on a family tree that you can share with living cousins. I started an entry here: https://www.geni.com/people/Th%C3%A9ophile-Lognon%C3%A9/6000000201728479829 The difference is that other living cousins can view the tree if you invite them by email and they accept at Geni. At Familysearch, only the person that created the entry can see living cousins. I have my tree at both places. I recommend adding in family there too. There is also room to copy the biography. I add the same biography to Findagrave, Geni, Wikitree, and Familysearch. RAN (talk) 18:09, 6 January 2024 (UTC)

- Dear @Richard Arthur Norton (1958- )
- I am still struggling to add pictures, data etc ... I don't think I have an access to do so. Should I ?
- 1/ Do you know how I can extend to all the children of Théophile Joseph Lognoné : https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Th%C3%A9ophile_Joseph_Lognon%C3%A9
- - Pierre Eugène Lognoné (1930-2022)
- - Bernard Onesime Marie Lognoné (1925–2013)
- - Paul Gabriel Lognoné (1934–2017)
- - Jean Théophile Lognoné (1923–1986)
- And his brother and sister, both watchmakers :
- - Léon Lognoné (1899 - 1984)
- - Marie Lognoné (1897-1984)
- 2/ How can I add pictures to those people ?
- Many thanks for your co-operation.
- With my best regards. Kevlo007007 (talk) 21:13, 9 January 2024 (UTC)

- I am more likely to see a message here, than my email. Get a free Flickr account, you can load 1,000 images there for free and you can choose a license, you can make them "public domain" or "copyrighted". You can add the images to Familysearch, Wikitree, Geni, and Findagrave as well as here. You can create a Wikidata entry for deceased family members and connect them together and add images from Wikimedia Commons. --RAN (talk) 17:21, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
- Start the process like I did here: Xavier Léon Lognoné create a entry in Wikidata for the person. The entry can display an image from Wikimedia Commons. You can link a family together using mother= and father= and child=. I also created an entry in Geni, Familysearch, and Findagrave. You can write a biography of the person at Findagrave. --RAN (talk) 17:25, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
So far the tree looks like this:
Scan your original images at 600 dpi if you can, and store as a png and not a jpg. Some scanning software automatically compresses the images when stored as a jpg. 4GiB is the size limit here.
- Since you inherited the copyrights along with the images you can use the license {{Cc-by-sa-4.0-heirs}}. --RAN (talk) 17:38, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
- If you want to create a Wikipedia-like article for a family member you can as Familypedia. See for instance https://familypedia.fandom.com/wiki/Anton_Julius_Winblad_I_(1828-1901). It uses all the Wikipedia tools, and you can store a copy of the images there too. --RAN (talk) 17:42, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
Thank you so much
[edit]Do you know how I can add a wife to Pierre Eugène Lognoné : Marie-Françoise Jeanneau on : https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q124497718 ?
And add his 6 children : Benoist Lognoné, François Lognoné, Bruno Lognoné, Vincent Lognoné, Marie Lognoné, Elisabeth Lognoné ?
And also his great children etc ? Kevlo007007 (talk) 20:03, 11 February 2024 (UTC)

This file may be deleted. |
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Louis Marie Pellé (1900-1944) dans la base des victimes civiles 39-45.jpg, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.
While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you! |
