Category:Emblemata

Hello. The term Emblemata is frequently used to mean emblem books. See for example [1], [2], [3]. If emblemata can mean something else in other contexts, could you please give the exact definition? In this case, we should split the category, because Category:Emblemata is a subcategory of category:Printmaking or category:16th-century books, which is not relevant for the files you want to include in this category. Neverthless, if emblemata is sometimes used just as a synonym of emblem or allegory, I do not think it is useful to create an extra category. OK. I understand your point of view: you mean that emblemata is a synonym of emblem. Nevertheless, I want to stress the fact that generally emblemata means emblem book and not simply emblem. In order to solve this problem, I propose the following:

1. Create Category:Emblem books;
2. Transform Category:Emblemata in a category redirect to Category:Emblems or Category:Emblem books.

recent uploads

Hi. Noticed you've been uploading a lot of artwork and listing the author as yourself. You may have taken the pictures, but the author is the painter. Also, if they are old paintings then the license should be PD-art. I urge you to go back and correct the author (painter) if you know who it is. Afrika und Amerika

Hallo Hermetiker, danke für deine Mail. Ich hätte besser vor meinen Änderungen die Diskussionsseiten benutzen sollen... Die Zuordnung zu Afrika und Amerika fand ich auch verwirrend und skurill, zumal als Attribute ausgerechnet zwei Tierordnungen zum Einsatz kamen, die auf beiden Kontinenten vorkommen. Letztlich weiß man's wohl so genau nicht. Meine Änderungen habe ich selbstverständlich rückgängig gemacht. Vielen Dank für Deine Reverts. Deiner Bemerkung "Letztlich weiß man's wohl so genau nicht" stimme ich zu. Als ich erstmals die vom amtlichen Führer abweichenden Angaben im Mainfränkischen Museum entdeckte, habe ich die Dissertation von Sabine Poeschel: "Studien zur Ikonographie der Erdteile in der Kunst des 16.–18. Jahrhunderts. München 1985" zu Rate gezogen. Amtlicher Führer und Dissertation bestärkten mich für meine Variante, aber Sabine Poeschel sagt auch klar, dass es häufig sehr schwierig bis unmöglich ist zwischen Afrika und Amerika zu unterscheiden. Ich hätte daher nichts dagegen, wenn Du Deine Museums-Variante zusätzlich in meine Beschreibungen einfügen würdest und wir dann beide Varianten mit Herkunftsangabe versehen würden: Amtlicher Führer des Rokokogartens bzw. Ich habe ja in den letzten Monaten ziemlich viel in Veitshöchheim und im Mainfränkischen Museum fotografiert und bin gerade dabei das alles zu sichten und nach und nach hochzuladen. In der Beschreibung beide Varianten mit Quelle zu bringen finde ich eine gute Lösung. Zu Veitshöchheim noch eine Frage: Sind eigentlich alle Statuen im Schlossgarten von Ferdinand Tietz? So, jetzt hatte ich endlich Zeit den Führer auszuwerten. Dabei stellte ich fest, dass ich bei einem meiner Fotos den falschen Bildhauer angegeben hatte und habe es gleich korrigiert. Bei den beiden Erdteilbildern habe ich jeweils die Variante des Mainfränkischen Museums ergänzt. Ja, die Putten und Kindergruppen auf der Balustrade sind von Johann Peter Wagner, ebenso alle Skulpturen am langgestreckten Ostrand des Parks, also der Bereich vom Grottenhaus in Richtung Norden über die (zerstörte) Kaskade hinaus bis einschließlich der Ceres am Ende dieses Weges. Die Skulpturen am Grottenhaus selbst stammen von Materno Bossi. Die Musen und olympischen Götter auf der westlichen und südlichen Mauer des Parterres wurden bei Johann Wolfgang van der Auvera in Auftrag gegeben, wobei die Götter aber vermutlich von seinem Bruder Lucas van der Auvera und von Johann Peter Wagner geschaffen wurden. Die beiden Wächter am westlichen Zugang zum Garten sind von Wolfgang van der Auvera, ebenso der Neptun an der Südwestecke des Gartens, der ursprünglich zum Gartenparterre gehörte. Die zwei Tiergruppen beim westlichen (verschlossenen) Gittertor werden Jakob van der Auvera zugeschrieben. Herzlichen Gruß --Hermetiker (talk) 20:12, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
