Drosophila images

Hi I am User:Josiasseb

One FlyBase guy and I agreed on the license terms as well as text labels for these images. I send e-mails we got to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org. Do I need to provide something more? Maybe the CC license we agreed on is not the right one?

Flybase.org, or flybase.bio.indiana.edu, is a USA academic database partly funded by NIH. Some of these images were published in 1943/1944. Those should not have copyright anymore, right?

As far as I could judge from credits, you need to ask permission from every photographer. You could ask help on Commons:OTRS/Noticeboard with permissions review. If image is in public domain, it should be properly tagged. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 15:35, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

На мой взгляд, современные сайты не имеют отношения к историческим фотографиям. Стоит поискать информацию о фотографах/датах создания, предыдущих публикациях или архивах, где они содержаться. Hello Eugene. Sorry to bother you, but you have put in deletion several of my images uploaded on Wikimedia Commons and I don't understand why. - At to Angela Chiarelli, the copyright has expired (more than 70 years old), how can I tell the source, apart that it was in the Family's archives, after so many years where can I find the name of the photographer ?

- As to the other images, I am the author of most of the artworks and of the photo, so why should I ask for OTRS ? (the artworks were published before on Wikipedia and after on other websites)

The Paper Crane is by Misako Chida (Japan): she is the artist and the author of the photo: the image has a regular OTRS

As for Angela Chiarelli photo, you need to add at least approximate date of creation if photographer is unknown.

For photos of your paintings/sculptures, you need OTRS confirmation for you works authorship, not for photos.

Looks like OTRS volunteers already took care about your images.

Hi EugeneZelenko: the photo I uploaded "Majestic City Old View.png" was taken by me. I guess it has been reported because of the missing license tag. I added Template:Cc-self tag. Is it okay now? but I downloaded the photo "Majestic Cineplex.jpg" from a newspaper website and I mentioned those details clearly but I have no idea how to license these type of files. what should I do? Based on Kaganovich's uniform, it's pre-1943 photo (see w:en:Gorget patches#Russia). It was common practice to not attribute photographers in 1930s. Eugene, I added the templates to all Hanna files and 1000 Alex files. Unfortunately I do not know how to get a list of all Alex files (search only returns 1000). Not a problem, bots are patient. A lot of stuff was not done in the most optimal way in the early days of the project, and the main challenge is often that people were "improving" pages one at the time which resulted in much larger number of variants. --Jarekt (talk) 16:36, 27 December 2013 (UTC)

Ко мне обратился владелец авторских прав, который хочет присоединить свои фотографии (из его личного архива -- семейные и деловые фотографии, начиная с 1920-х) в Википедию -- в статью о нем самом и для других (тематических) статей. // Я так понимаю, что ему необходимо со своего е-ящика отправить письмо с разрешением и присоединить все фотографии на permissions-ru(Соб@ка)wikimedia.org. // А фотографий много - около 70 шт. Если он будет слать партиями фотографии, то нужно будет эти фотографии каждый раз сопровождать отдельным письмом? // А кто будет грузить потом эти фотографии в коммонз и как потом эти фотографии в коммонзе найти? В коммонзе есть категория, куда надо эти фотографии грузить: вот эта [3]. Письма с разрешением (по форме ру:ДОБРО) владельцем авторских прав высланы с его почтового ящика. Раньше шаблон ((OTRS pending)) в загруженных фотографиях (см., например, [5]) представлял собой жёлтую лампочку, а сейчас жёлтый треугольник с восклицательным знаком. Что это обозначает? Copyright violations

I really still don’t understand how the politic about pictures work. I took Mendonza’s picture with my own hands using my camera. The photo is in my Facebook page and some of my friends appear there. Otrzymałem komunikat, że te grafiki nie posiadają kluczowej informacji o źródle. Autor i źródło tego pliku muszą być podane, aby inni mogli zweryfikować jego stan prawny. Jeśli źródło tego pliku nie zostanie podane, może on być usunięty siedem dni po wstawieniu tego szablonu i powiadomieniu ładującego.

Jestem zaskoczony, bo większość zdjęć jest z mojego albumu rodzinnego (my family photo album) i ja osobiście mam do nich prawo, bo jestem ich właścicielem, osobiście zdjęcia wykonywałem!!! Kilka zdjęć zostało dodatkowo opisanych, gdzie zostały wykonane i jakie jest ich źródło. Proszę o dokładne i ponowne sprawdzenie i usunięcie szablonu. Jeżeli są ewentualne jeszcze wątpliowości, to proszę o kontakt. Nie wyobrażam sobie, aby te zdjęcia zostały usunięte w tym artykule. Wszystko teraz sprawdziliśmy i dokładnie zaznaczyliśmy, że to zdjęcia moje, bo tak jest. Niektóre tylko są odbitkami, ale jest podane źródło. Bardzo proszę jeszcze raz o wyrozumiałość, za ewentulane pomyłki sorry. Dokonalismy korekty co do opisu danych zdjęć. Jeżeli nie ma sprzeciwu to zgodnie z opcją na Wikipedii dokonamy < anuluj edycję > bo bardzo zależy nam na tych zdjęciach, jeżeli jeszcze coś jest nie tak to proszę o polską podpowiedź lub dokonanie samemu korekty. They have nothing to do with choreography, but before I start to move them or ask the oploader to do this, I would like to make sure these are not in fact possible candidates for deletion. these three pictures were created by my father-in-law Heinz Stein. We used his scanner to create the pictures. So I have the permission from my father-in-law Heinz Stein to use these three files in Wikipedia and Wikimedia. So it would be nice to leave the pictures in place. Thank you very much.

Deleted Photos

When this maintenance category is clogged with such cases, the low quality images will be replaced more slowly by SVG versions. In addition, it is possible that an SVG version is of worse quality than a high res. PNG, if the SVG is not well made. --Leyo 20:34, 12 March 2014 (UTC)

New to Wiki - acquiring rights/license to upload images

How do I know which license/copyright to choose when uploading photos that aren't copyrighted and I have permission to upload? The images I've uploaded have been deleted but I don't know how to prove that I have permission to use them.

This projects bureaucrat's are asleep at the wheel? -- please wake up

As we know from COM:BUREAUCRATS, "bureaucrats are expected be capable of leading where necessary and of guiding (but not imposing their will on) policy discussions and other major community issues."

I need to draw your attention to an issue which is going to blow up in the collective faces of this project, and with the exception of User:Odder, every single one of our bureaucrats has been asleep at the wheel. We are now destined for a trainwreck, and a whole heap of fallout. Numerous chapters, including Wikimedia Israel, Wikimedia Spain, Wikimedia Argentina and Wikimedia Venezuela, are going to be in a mighty pissed mood and ready to have the head on a stick of any bureaucrat who dares come along and do what has to be done for the good of this project.

As User:Odder has opined in the discussion, him doing what needs to be done will surely have cries of "INVOLVED" levelled at him, so this is now left up to the remaining 8 bureaucrats to snap out of the slumber they seem to be in as it relates to this issue, and deal with it before it blows up further in our collective faces.

i do not understand, why the pictures of SUMA Rührtechnik are nominated for deletion. I am writing the article for the company. I am also working in the company. All files are nominated as own work of the user (me) because it is directy used from the company. i saw, that the files also need to be categorized but while the files are nomiated for deletion i cannot find the site to edit this. also i can not find any ways to help to get the license revised. Or to get generally even something done. My site is still in the design and not on the public site. so i thought it would be possible to revise the site a few times until it will be visable for all users.

Раз уж вас так устроил результат моей работы, помогите и вы мне.
Дело в следующем. В XIX веке в США живет один человек. За несколько лет до смерти он пишет автобиографию. В 1877-м (т.е. более 100 лет назад) он умирает. Рукопись автобиографии в конце концов оказывается в Библиотеке Конгресса США. В 1978 году исторический отдел ВМС США, слегка подредактировав (исправлены ошибки, кое-где даны пояснительные сноски, ну и, конечно, написано предисловие), публикует её в виде отдельной книги. В качестве иллюстраций берутся свободные изображения XIX века, кроме двух, чей лицензионный статус неясен (вполне возможно они тоже свободны). В результате получается такая ситуация:

• С одной стороны - с момента написания текста прошло 100 с лишним лет и в силу возраста он уже не защищен АП.
• C другой стороны - с момента публикации прошло только 30 с небольшим, а стало быть - он несвободен.
• С третьей стороны - каждая страница этой книги создана ВМС США, а значит подпадает под лицензию PD-USGov-Military-Navy.

В связи с этим вопросы:

1. Можно ли загружать на склад сканы её страниц или всю книгу в виде DjVu-файла? Если да, то под какой лицензией? Если нет, то почему?
2. Если ответ на первый вопрос отрицательный, тогда можно ли разместить текст этой книги на викитеке?

И в том и в другом случае фотки с неясным статусом можно заменить чем-нибудь вроде этого или этого.

Рукопись создана до 1923 года, но из-за отсутствия публикации это может не действовать. Также раньше требовалась регистрация авторских прав. Admiral Eller was in full agreement with Dr. Nevins' evaluation. Vidshare is a long-term abuse sockpuppet (as noted in the user's block log and user page). No, we dont give users "a chance" when they've burned through dozens of accounts and to date their only contribution is hundreds of copyvios with no attempt to reform; that's just silly. It's OK; that's why I said something . In any case, if you looked through the history, you'd see that it's a very specific type of anime .webm that s/he uploads. First is definitely OK. Second image is Commons:Derivative work from advertisement. How old is it? Is it installed permanently?

Second image is a picture I took a month ago at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin which exposed this famous advertising on the human scale. Taking pictures were allowed, but you're right, I don't know to what extent it is possible to publish it on wikimedia. I didn't know the existence of rules concerning Derivative work... Файл из Козельца, согласен, был с низким разрешением и уже перезалит.

В статье о лицензии написано, что надо указывать авторов для тех объектов и скульптур, которые находятся в общедоступных местах. Авторров памятников добавил в атрибуты. Что еще не так?

Stavanger Guide Maps Norway by Kevin-Paul Scarrott. I feel that my contribution to Wikimedia is extremely useful and an important source of information for users.
