Status on ISS uploads
Hello Don-vip! You previously inquired about the status of the ISS uploads. If you are interested, the table on this page is updated on a regular basis. The bot uploads the images in the order they were added to the database, so do not expect them to be uploaded in chronological order. However it should give you a general indication of were the upload progress is at. --Askeuhd (talk) 13:12, 9 June 2022 (UTC)

Webb's First Deep Field
Hi, File:NASA-JWST-FirstDeepField-20220712.png is a small duplicate of File:Main image deep field smacs0723.png, but with a better name and more description. I would merge these. Do you agree? Yann (talk) 20:03, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Yann! I don't know, I hesitate. I agree there are very similar and it would make sense to merge them, but I think both are very useful : the cropped version is needed to compare efficiently with Hubble, but the first one is historic as it is the very first James Webb image, so it would make sense to keep the original version on Commons for historical purpose. vip (talk) 20:09, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
- There are other versions here: Category:Webb's First Deep Field. Thanks, Yann (talk) 12:01, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
- You're right we can keep the other file formats for this. So I agree to merge the two PNG together. vip (talk) 17:08, 22 July 2022 (UTC)

Tagging duplicate
The bot User:OptimusPrimeBot, which was under your control, kept on tagging duplicates. The point was good, but there is 9,000+ files that are backlogged at CAT:DUPE. Would you mind stop tagging duplicate for a period of time to let admins clearing the backlog? A1Cafel (talk) 14:45, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
- Sure! I'm disabling this check right now. vip (talk) 17:46, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
- @A1Cafel I've implemented a safeguard to ensure the bot never exceeds a configurable number of files in CAT:DUPE (currently 100). So it will only tag new duplicates once the category contains less than 100 files, and up to 100 again. Is this ok for you? vip (talk) 18:16, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

Versions check with OptimusPrimeBot?
Hi. With something like File:BIDV Logo.png it was marked as duplicate, however, it is a case of an incorrect overwrite that should have been reverted by the community. Are we able to have the bot check for more than one version of a file and where there are multiple uploads, instead mark those for manual review rather than directly as duplicate. We seem to need some more nuance as I would guess that I am seeing about 1 in 100 (or roughly thereabouts) of this sort of situation. Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 09:47, 27 September 2022 (UTC)
- I was thinking something like Category:Possible duplicate, versions to review <shrug> 09:49, 27 September 2022 (UTC)
- Sure! I'll do it. vip (talk) 18:28, 27 September 2022 (UTC)
- I must also check for revision history for things like : if a previous duplicate flagging has been reverted, don't try it another time... vip (talk) 18:32, 27 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks, another example File:Naval Jack of Venezuela.svg. I am not saying that they should not be deleted, I just think that we need to get a better set of eyes on such files as they need appropriate review, not a glance and action. — billinghurst sDrewth 02:03, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
