Museu Nacional

[edit]

Aqui é a mesma coisa.

A categorização ajuda nisso.

No Brasil o padrão é o português. Ana Gauna (talk) 01:38, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ana, por favor, pare. Categorização correta é regra do projeto. A dupla categorização dificulta a organização.

Dornicke (talk) 02:25, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Starfish

[edit]

Hello,

You recently categorized tens of sea star pictures under the category category:Starfish, while they were already well categorized under their scientific name. If you go on the category pahe, you will read "Please categorize images in relevant species, if possible into Category:Asteroidea subcategories, or at least into one of the "Unidentified ..." categories such as Category:Unidentified Asteroidea. Common names groups should be used only when it's impossible to link the file to a biological group (art, symbols...)." Hence, could you please undo your contributions ? Thanks and regards, FredD (talk) 19:33, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@FredD: This Category:Starfish was empty with no content appearing days ago, this week. I put in to visualize the starfish after I discovered that the images of live starfish exist here within the Commons. Before, a few days ago, there was no picture appearing here within Category:Starfish. Ana Gauna (talk) 20:00, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but some categories on Commons are designed to remain empty, such as this one : the aim is that people who don't know about starfish put their pictures in this category so specialists like me move them to the proper category, depending on the species. You just did the exact contrary... FredD (talk) 03:54, 21 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@FredD: Não senhor. Eu uso o projeto desde 2006. Mas eu uso muito pouco. Por favor, pare a desorganização da enciclopédia!

[edit]

Ola Ana.

̴̴Ana Gauna (talk) 13:03, 25 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Skimel (talk) 06:24, 26 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Translationː You have links error in some categories here within the Commons. There are categories that are not appearing that blue category strip at the top and bottom of the category page. This page was Swimming pool (Brazil) because the other did not appear within the category search bar. And this category Swimming pools in Brazil may have a link problem, check it out because it did not show up inside that category search bar that exists underneath the photos on the day I used it, days ago. ̴̴̴Ana Gauna (talk) 01:19, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed something late at night. When in the name of the category has, = comma this category does not appear automatic in the search bar. Test this.

 Ana Gauna (talk) 01:05, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This has problem with the name of this category. Who is Brazilian and has already been to visit the district Itaimbibi knows that it is close to the neighborhood Vila Olimpia, and knows that the City is São Paulo. For those who have never visited the city of São Paulo and never visited the Itaimbibi district nor ever visited the neighborhood Vila Olimpia, with this generic category name will not know that these two neighborhoods are inside the City of São Paulo. This only knows who looks at the map of the City of São Paulo or who has been there to pay a visit.

 Ana Gauna (talk) 01:05, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The online file upload system from the Commons has been updated online. Now when uploading files, the online system wants the person to identify the name of each photo file, the online system does not accept a duplicate photo name, the Commons online system wants the person to fill in all the description fields of the files. photographs, and the online system wants the person to fill in the category field with the category name in all photos, only after all the fields are filled, and the online system has made an online approval on all the files is that these files are sent by the people and these photos come within the Commons. This category does not appear to be in the automatic category search box that the online system displays before the photos are submitted.

 Ana Gauna (talk) 01:05, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not everything is automatically popping up inside that automatic category bar when the person wants to see something in there. Ana Gauna (talk) 01:05, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

̴̴Ana Gauna (talk) 00:03, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Skimel: You are not quite understanding what I wrote in Portuguese.

It has category files, has photo files, which have the broken link. Several files in the category search under the photograph do not appear everything the person types looking for. And if the category item contains the comma, it does not automatically appear in that category search under the photos. The same similar problem is happening with that blue bar of categories that exists above the category, and exists below the category, there also not everything is appearing when the person types in the search of something. And there also if there is a category with comma, this category does not appear automatic within the search categories of the blue range of categories. And there is another problem that has categories with link problem without this blue band appearing at the top and bottom. Ana Gauna (talk) 00:03, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ana Gauna (talk) 00:03, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Amgauna: , several users have repeatedly told you to respect the rules of categorization on Commons. The category Starfish MUST stay EMPTY, each photograph of starfish must be put in the specific category. You can't just choose to do what you want. FredD is right, please stop reverting his edits. We are open to dialogue, but you must follow the rules. Skimel (talk) 07:32, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

ː@Skimel: No. This starfish category is inside the wikidata and configured in dozens of languages in there, several months, or years. Who is wrong is this FredD. ː@Skimel: That category starfish is the category of this stafish of the main page of Commons [12] Ana Gauna (talk) 07:55, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Então é as suas modificações ("Who put the first images inside the commons within the starfish category was me, when I upoaded photos, days ago") que foram erradas.

Translation: You are mistaken. I am a senior systems analyst. I am analyzing this link breakage that exists between categories (because several categories are not working automatically within the search bar) and the search of this between wikidata already has several weeks. This starfish page and the starfish category are configured inside the wikidata in the item Q25349 (wikidata identifier) [14], in it the configuration is made like this: then this starfish page is a main page and this starfish category it is a main category because there is property identifier active and functioning within the page link, and this translation has already been activated within the project in several languages. Ana Gauna (talk) 16:08, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

First point. Just because the category Starfish is referenced on Wikidata (as are lots of Commons categories) doesn't mean that the actual category on Commons should be overloaded with hundreds of pictures. Besides, the policy about fauna and flora on Commons is to use the scientific names. In this case, we should use Asteroidea. If you do not know which particular starfish your picture represents, put it in the category Unidentified Asteroidea.
Second point. I don't understand what you mean by "link breakage". The search bar is managed by the tool "Hot Cat". If some of the categories don't show up in the search bar, it may be because of your operating system, your connection, or simply because it's case-sensitive. Take a look here, you will find a way to customize this tool : Help:Gadget-HotCat. Skimel (talk) 16:42, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Translation: It just means that some things within Commons will stop working properly within the asset database in the project. The wikidata is database, it creates the communication between the pages and the categories, and between everything that exists activated and working within the project. Ana Gauna (talk) 16:56, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Translation: I and several people have chosen the 'starfish category' to upload photos. Whoever is taking pictures out of the starfish category is wrong. Inside the wikidata this is a correct category, this is configured. This category Unidentified Asteroidea is wrong (not part of wikidata). This does not follow the default setting that is enabled inside wikidata, which is activated within the other project items with translation done and activated in several languages, is what is causing broken link problems in the Commons search tool. What exists inside the wikidata is what is being used within Wikipedia with translation in several languages. Ana Gauna (talk) 17:29, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Just because a category doesn't have a wikidata item doesn't mean it should not be used! Skimel (talk) 18:14, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Wikipedia article w:Starfish is linked to the Wikispecies page s:Asteroidea, which is also linked to the commons Category Asteroidea. All of this is linked on Wikidata : d:Q25349. So the category starfish should not be used. Furthermore, you can't put all the images under the "standard category", but you need to put them in the most precise one. For instance, your photo File:DSC00066 - estrela do mar - Naufrágio e recifes de coral no Nilo.jpg has been correctly categorized under Oreaster reticulatus - which has its own wikidata page : d:Q822952. This photo (and all the other photographs of identified starfishes) should NOT bet put within the Starfish category. FredD was right when he removed it. Skimel (talk) 09:22, 29 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Ronhjones: This map is to be used within the wikidata project in reference items relative to this map image. ̴̴Ana Gauna (talk) 17:31, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

There is nothing in the source(s) to indicate these maps are free. Under the Berne Convention the default license will be "All Rights Reserved", which is not acceptable. Ronhjones  (Talk) 17:46, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Ronhjones: These images are from geography study books used in Brazil by students. I do not understand those licenses here from the Commons. If I chose the wrong license, how can I exchange the wrong license with the right license? I looked at the licenses but I do not know which license is right to use. Ana Gauna (talk) 17:52, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Every image here can be used commercially free of charge. The book's license is not likely to allow the use here. The publisher of the book will own the copyright - you should contact the publisher. Ronhjones  (Talk) 18:09, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Ronhjones: Creative Commons public domain tools = CC0 (occasionally written as CC Zero) is a public domain dedication that allows copyright holders to place works in the public domain to the extent legally possible, worldwide. In these files can this license be used? public domain? It did not appear visible to me when I uploaded the files. These map images are on the internet because students and teachers in Brazil are studying this subject online. Ana Gauna (talk) 18:14, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

CC-zero is OK, but we need to verify that the maps have been released as CC-zero. If there was a CC-zero at the source, then we could use them, but I doubt if they are CC-zero - only the book (or the publisher) will have the copyright details. We cannot use the images unless we can verify that they have been released as a free license. Ronhjones  (Talk) 18:20, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Please note http://www.baixarmapas.com.br/ - bottom of page Copyright © 2016. All Rights Reserved. - thus not suitable for commons. Ronhjones  (Talk) 18:24, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Ronhjones: Who provides the maps for the use of schools in Brazil is the government of Brazil. L̺ook = https://mapas.ibge.gov.br/escolares Ana Gauna (talk) 18:27, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I suspect they are using the maps from http://www.baixarmapas.com.br/ under license. Anyway, http://www.brasil.gov.br/participacao-social#acesso-informacao says "Todo o conteúdo deste site está publicado sob a licença creative commons cc by nd 3.0 brasil" - CC-BY-ND is still not acceptable. Ronhjones  (Talk) 18:33, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Ronhjones: I liked this = http://www.baixarmapas.com.br/mapa/regiao-metropolitana/ These maps who provides for use in schools is the government of Brazil itself. Bottom of page "Copyright © Guia Geográfico". If it does not specify a license, then that means "All Rights Reserved", and not suitable. There are very few free maps available. Most people tend to use www.openstreetmap.org. Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:20, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

ːː@Ronhjones: I do not understand these Creative Commons licenses. I've read the site regarding these licenses, but almost always someone comes along saying that I chose the wrong license in some image. In the Wikidata you need images of maps of the Cities / Municipalities of Brazil, maps of the States of Brazil, maps of the districts of Brazil, to be able to make reference to the existing items inside the bank and data of the wikidata. I do not know which license is right. Good evening. Ana Gauna (talk) 20:24, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You have to use the license that the map web site specifies. You cannot pick your own, when using someone else's work. Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:30, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

ːː@Ronhjones: These maps are from Brazil, for use by students and teachers. In Brazil it is not customary within the sites to use Creative Commons licenses. Ana Gauna (talk) 21:32, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Commons needs an image to have a free license that is valid in the US (where the main servers are) and in the country of origin. I suggest you ask at COM:VPC, to get a wider opinion. Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:32, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Remember that Brazil is part of the "Berne Convention" (File:Berne Convention signatories.svg), that means that all "work" is fully copyrighted at the time of creation, by the creator. Such work can never be used on commons unless there is an explicit release of copyright. Ronhjones  (Talk) 01:14, 3 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
So I think it better the Wikimedia Foundation to directly request these forographs of the Government of Brazil. The Brazilian government provides these map images. On the internet these images are free for use by Brazilians (students and teachers) in schools in Brazil. Good evening. Ana Gauna (talk) 01:59, 3 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
:ːː@Ronhjones: So I think it better the Licence Creative Commons Open Data for the Maps of the Government of Brazil = https://creativecommons.org/about/program-areas/open-data/ ̴̴and http://dados.gov.br/dataset/cq-pesquisa-trimestral-do-couro-couro Ana Gauna (talk) 23:33, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
As I said - you cannot pick the license. You must use the license on the web site, that has the image you want to use. Thus if the image is on http://www.baixarmapas.com.br/mapa/regiao-metropolitana/, then at the bottom right of that page is "Copyright © 2016. All Rights Reserved". That is the license - "All Rights Reserved" - and not suitable for upload here. In general almost every image on the internet is not suitable for uploading to commons. As I said above, nearly all the modern maps that you will find in commons will usually derive from openstreetmap.com - one of the very few places to get a free map. The only other options are to find old (100 years old) maps. Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:44, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Ronhjones: At the bottom of the website of the government of Brazil data.gov.brhttp://dados.gov.br/dataset/cq-pesquisa-trimestral-do-couro-couro says that all content of the site uses the license Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported license. ̴̴Ana Gauna (talk) 00:17, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
OK, that will apply to everything in http://dados.gov.br. You will need to find a map on that part of the web site, but that will not apply to all gov.br web sites - https://mapas.ibge.gov.br/escolares has a link (top of page - "access and information") links to http://www.brasil.gov.br/participacao-social#acesso-informacao, which has the unacceptable CC-BY-ND license. Ronhjones  (Talk) 00:41, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Ronhjones: Under the site data.gov.br that speaks of the IBGE says that the license of the site is the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License.http://dados.gov.br/organization/0a2ede4a-4c54-4303-af0a-6d163e242c15?res_format=JSON Ana Gauna (talk) 01:12, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ana Gauna (talk) 01:12, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It does not matter if it mentions another part of the site. The only workable system is
  1. Find the image page
  2. From that page (unless there is a license there), use the links from that page to find the license - the link might be called "information, "legal", copyright", etc. - all sites vary. It is not unusual for different parts of Government sites to use difference licenses (my own Government is just as bad, with parts being Open Government, and parts being Crown Copyright). One must find the license for the appropriate part of the site. If there was a link from https://mapas.ibge.gov.br/escolares directly to http://dados.gov.br/organization/0a2ede4a-4c54-4303-af0a-6d163e242c15?res_format=JSON, then that would be a different outcome. I do suspect that www.baixarmapas.com.br has licensed the maps to the Brazilian Government and that is why https://ibge.gov.br/ links to a CC-BY-ND license page. It might be easier to ask the Brazilian Government direct - I did find ibge@ibge.gov.br on a IBGE web page. I aslo downloaded a map at https://portaldemapas.ibge.gov.br/portal.php#mapa220345 - which has a text box containing "Direitos de Reprodução Reservados (C)IBGE" Ronhjones  (Talk) 02:29, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well that is one map sorted out. It's not unusual for different regions to have different licenses - you would find the same in the US - - There are about 4 states that have free content on their web sites, the other 46 are not free content. Ronhjones  (Talk) 15:17, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I think you are getting there. You need to add the web page that the map has been taken from, so that editors can link the map to the permission. Ronhjones  (Talk) 19:40, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Paladinum2: Discordo do senhor. Translate: I disagree with you. And days ago I looked at several sites of the Government of Rio de Janeiro, and I looked at several sites of the City of Rio de Janeiro, and the common use is the Creative Commons License 2.5 which is what is being used in the image. ̴̴Ana Gauna (talk) 11:10, 31 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Legislation Brazil Transparente / Law of access to informationː

@Ronhjones: Good night. I would like to ask for your opinion. Days ago you explained to me the Creative Commons licenses, how to use the images. I think I understood your explanation days ago. Could you analyze this image? I think I put the information all right in the picture. ̴̴Ana Gauna (talk) 21:19, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your problem is that the page says quite clearly "© 2011 City of Rio de Janeiro", and there is no link on that page to a suitable license statement. It's not unusual for local government to have a completely different web policy to a national one. Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:26, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
In Brazil it has the legislation of transparency of information, in which all content existing in sites of the Government of Brazil is information of public use. Lookː http://www.scielo.br/scielo.php?pid=S0102-311X2013000400002&script=sci_arttext&tlng=en and by the Brazilian legislation people can use the image of the Government websites, but have to inform the origin of the photograph, this I informed.̴̴ Ana Gauna (talk) 23:07, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:1526555 - Barão de Guahy - Meteorito Bendegó - Museu Nacional de História Natural UFRJ - 22 Outubro 2010 - - Rio de Janeiro - Brazil.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

The Wikimedia Commons (this website) only hosts media files with a realistic educational purpose and that can be used for any purpose, including:

See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons, and Commons:Image casebook for some specific examples. Some other Wikimedia projects have different licensing policies. For example, the English Wikipedia allows fair use of sounds and photographs. This is not the case on Wikimedia Commons; "fair use" materials are not acceptable here.

Please make sure that you only upload educational content you have created yourself, those which are out of copyright, or those for which you have the required permission for the work to be used in all the ways described above. Please note that derivative works of copyrighted material are also considered copyrighted. Again, please read through Commons:Licensing, which is quite crucial, to understanding how Wikimedia Commons works. Thanks for your contribution, and please do leave me a message if you have further questions.

Warning sign
This file may be deleted.
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Bíblia Sagrada - Editora Barsa 6.jpg, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you!

Pay attention to copyright
File:Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid AI Maktoum.png has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

This is your last warning. The next time you upload a file that violates copyright, you will be blocked. Please leave me a message if you have further questions.

These photos are free to use.  I sent these photographs using the Commons mobile app for 5G Android 13. I used the Commons license option that the Commons mobile app showed for me to use.  I have been following Sheikh Hamdan Mohammed Rashid AI Maktoum Fazza and his brothers since 2020 on TikTok and Instagram.  Sometimes I fight with one of them and unfollow them all for a month, two months, then I forgive them and follow them all again.  I talk to them, I watch their videos and photos on TikTok and Instagram since 2020. These photographs of Fazza and his father that I sent to Commons, I put everything in their correct category so they can use them on their pages. Wikipedia.  Deleting their photographs is completely absurd, they represent the Government of Dubai United Arab Emirates, their page exists on Wikipedia in several languages.  They blocked me unduly, I didn't do anything wrong.  I placed Fazza's photographs within the Fazza category that is used within his Wikipedia. App Commons for Mobile Android

[edit]

Within the Commons Application for a 5G cell phone with Android 13, the total count of files I uploaded is not appearing in my Commons account, nor is the count of file usage statistics within Wikipedia, Wikidata, etc. projects. An error message is appearing in the cell phone application. Ana Mercedes Gauna (talk) 08:01, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
